Our refrigerator completely crapped out in the middle of the worst storm in our area in the last 20 years. February 17. I discovered the problem as I was brewing coffee watching the rain pour down sideways. The display said the fridge was OFF. The unit's computer has been chronically malfunctioning, but it finally died that morning. Recycling the power was a futile gesture. And I got soaked trying. I called around locally with no success. It was 7:30 am but the unit was warming up fast, so this was on the critical path. I found AM PM on Yelp. They looked credible. I called them and got Larry, the tech, to commit to a service call. He showed up about 90 minutes later. At around 10am. In the middle of an epic deluge. Amazing. He confirmed that it was the main control board and probably the display circuit board. A follow-up call came from Jason @ HQ. Both boards needed to be replaced. One was in stock, the other required an online search, according to Jason. I was freaked, of course, but with a old refrigerator in the garage, we had a fallback position, if there was a shipping delay. It required stuffing a lot of perishables in the old unit, but better than nothing. So I gave Jason the ok, and he ran with it, in a way that separates this kid from any other customer rep I have dealt with in recent memory. It took two weeks and a defective replacement that Larry the tech apologized over in a big way, but the unreal perseverance of these guys was remarkable. This is not an exaggeration. They care about their customers, especially when there is an unexpected snafu. Jason dogged the supplier, a new unit was sent out, Larry installed it and all is well. I defy anybody on Yelp to come with an appliance repair service that is as committed and responsive as this group. Enough said. Use them if you need them. You won't be disappointed. read more

Found AMPM through yelp and chose by rating. Had looked at Sears first, but soonest appointment was over two weeks. AMPM's technician (Larry) was there was at our door in less than a couple hours and within the time they estimated. He wore a mask the whole time he worked, was tidy in his efforts, polite, and was done in short order. Had to order parts which were a couple days out, but ice maker began to work again after he was done. Called office and decided to hold off on purchase of new ice maker since it was working again. Sending me refund for additional deposit I make on part. Very professional and organized all around. Will definitely call them back to have it replaced if it goes out again. They responded immediately and could have come the same day but my schedule didn't permit it. So, scheduled for my next availability and then the day of the appointment had to take my dog to the vet. They rescheduled for later in the day to accommodate me! Then actually showed up on time and made a swift and clear diagnosis of my dying dishwasher. Turned out to be a very major repair but the technician was honest and didn't try to convince me to repair it when the cost of the repair would have been as much as a new machine. I had a problem with my LG refrigerator not cooling. An AMPM technician came and diagnosed that the compressor was not working. Since the fridge was still under 10 years old, LG agreed to send a replacement compressor to AMPM for the repair. I only had to pay for labor. A person named Jason from AMPM called and gave me a price quote for labor. I said let me think about it because the quote was a lot higher than I expected. Two days later, knowing that I didn't have a chance to negotiate because AMPM was already authorized to receive the replacement part, and my family had been living without a fridge for so long, I caved in and decided to let AMPM do the repair at its quoted price. I called and left many messages, but Jason never called back. Finally, I believed they blocked my phone number because I got a message saying that my call was rejected. Thanks to AMPM's non-cooperation, LG let me select another company who fixed my fridge at a lower price, with much better customer service. Until now, I still don't know why AMPM didn't return my calls. Did I hurt Jason's feelings when I said his price was too high? read more

Our dryer went out Friday night, we called Saturday at 11:30, they were at our house by 1:00 with a 30 minute window notice. Called yesterday afternoon to have refrigerator repairman come out to take a look at our fridge that was not getting as cold as we knew it should be getting. Received call this morning giving us a thirty minute heads up that they were coming. Gene arrived on time and got right to work. I am highly impressed with AMPM Appliance Services. My refrigerator suddenly stopped working, and so I called around to all the different appliance repair shops in the area, and the representative who answered at AMPM was kind and quick to set up a same day appointment for me. The gentleman who arrived was very nice and respectful of our home as he went ahead and tried to figure out what the issue was with our refrigerator. After he gave us his diagnosis, he explained that a repair would require a $1000+ part that needed to be replaced. In that type of situation, many companies will try and make a kill off up charging customers for parts and labor. Not this gentleman. He was honest enough to explain that LG refrigerators usually come across this same problem often, and that if I call LG directly, they may be able to assist me with replacing the part at a much lower cost. I thanked him for his honesty, and took his advice and called LG directly, and was able to save a lot of money taking this route, rather than having the gentleman fix our refrigerator. I purchased a Yelp deal prior to their visit, but before leaving, the gentleman said that the Yelp deal could not be used towards their service fee, only towards labor. I was bothered by this because it did not state this anywhere on their page on the Yelp site. I contacted management at AMPM to relay this information, and I spoke with a very nice gentleman named Jason, who was quick to resolve the issue and get my Yelp payment refunded. All in all, I was very pleased with how honest and professional this company operated, and I would definitely use their services again in the future. read more

I was over charged for the refrig repair and in the process he broke the water line. I hear the plastic snap as he pulled the frig away from the wall....He then told me that it was already leaking, sorry no, and when I complained of an additional $250.00 for that repair it was like don't worry i'll do it for free, yes, another plastic adapter and it was all set. Our Samsung refrigerator stopped working on a Friday, we called AM PM and they were able to send someone out on Saturday morning. The repairman, Larry, diagnosed the problem as the condenser fan motor. He ordered the part and said he would return as soon as the part came in. We were expecting Monday or Tuesday at the earliest but he was able to return on Sunday morning with the part and our refrigerator is now repaired. He told us he normally doesn't work on Sunday, but realized how a refrigerator is such a necessity. This is the second time we have utilized their services. I was surprised to see that my Yelp review which I posted on 1/27/22 has been removed. I wonder why and how this may have happened. Since I posted that review I received an e mail from the owner of AMPM Appliance Services which I thought was rather sarcastic and nasty which I would also like to post at this time. His employee possibly or probably with his involvement tried to screw me and he was being sarcastic with this first and last time customer? I will let the reader be the judge. On January 7, 2022 I met with Jeff from AMPM appliance repair in my home to determine why my less than two year old Bosch dishwasher wasn't  working.   Jeff quoted $55 for the service call.  The on-off switch seemed to be malfunctioning.  Jeff didn't bring any tools, didn't remove the dishwasher from under the counter, just asked me a few questions.  He seemed like a nice enough guy. I told him that I had an extended warranty and that repairs were authorized up to $400.  Jeff indicated that wasn't alot of money nowadays for repairing a dishwasher. Jeff told me that his company would get back to me with a repair quote on Monday which would include the cost of parts.   On Monday January 10th  I received a call from the owner, Jason. Jason advised that the cost of parts would be $426 and labor $200 and that they would need to remove my dishwasher and bring it into the shop. Because the repair was so expensive the warranty company refused to authorize this repair. I then called the appliance store where I purchased my dishwasher and spoke with the floor sales manager who offered to come to my home to determine what was wrong and possibly make repairs. He said he wanted to do this as a courtesy because of our long time business relationship AND because he said he was familiar with Bosch dishwashers. He also indicated that he didn't like to see his customers taken advantage of. Cesar came to my home after work with a helper, removed a few screws and pulled my dishwasher from under the counter and determined that there was a small overflow leak. He then reach into my dishwasher and easily removed a filter which was completely clogged with paper. At the time we both presumed that this was the reason for the small overflow leak. This appeared to temporarily fix my dishwasher but I then determined that the on-off switch still wasn't functioning properly.    I called Cesar and he ordered the part,    (a $30 part, the on-off switch)returned about a week later and installed it in about 10 minutes. Since then the dishwasher has been working fine. I contacted AMPM Appliance repair, Jason,  who promised me in writing he would deal with this matter in house, and would refund my money upon receipt of proof that my dishwasher had been repaired and the findings. I asked Jason in an e mail what he meant by taking care of the matter in house and he didn't respond nor has he issued a refund pursuant to his promise to do so on my credit card. Accordingly I am disputing this charge with my credit card company. I will let the reader come to his own conclusions about the events surrounding AMPM's repair estimate and their "services" as I have described them. I will provide my opinions and conclusions about my experience with AMPM Appliance repair  AFTER Jason presumably writes his response to my review. I look forward to hearing what Jason meant when he said he would take care of this matter "in house".  I believe this review speaks for itself and might protect an unsuspecting customer from receiving the same type of service that I did!  Denis RAMPM Appliance Services photos On-Off switch for Bosch Dishwasher. We understand how important the $55 refund and the in house handling of the technician were to you! Maybe you will update your opinion aided review with a more detailed understanding review - maybe something kind hearted to the situation and to the people trying to help you through this to get back your $55. Our over-the-range microwave was not working and our neighbors recommended AMPM. Jason said the diagnosis was free of charge, since we took the appliance to the facility ourselves. They found the issue and fixed it within a few days. We asked for the defective parts to be returned to us, but they didn't comply. The microwave has been working fine, in the 3 days that we've tested it. Warranty on the job is only 30 days. Labor charges were reasonable. read more

This is a tough review to write for me. The first 50% of my experience was stellar, 5/5 stars. The second 50% was 1/5. TL;DR: 2.5/5 stars. Customer Service: Brilliant. Speed/Ability: Very good. Technician oversight/pricing: Very poor. I specifically went with this company because I was really impressed with how a guy named Jason handled a couple negative reviews here on Yelp. I called the company, got no answer, and the voicemail was full. I start to head over to request a quote through Yelp, but 3.5 minutes after I called, my phone rings - and it's Jason with the company. Very cool. Turns out that the rain we're having crippled their phones - but I got a friendly call back so fast having left no message, so I was impressed. Jason let me know that one of their top technicians, Gary, was in my area today and could be at my house between 1:00 and 4:00. I had expected next-day service, so hearing that our dryer would be looked at so quickly was pretty friggin' great, because my wife was having a heart attack over here with 2 kids and 0 dryers. Gary arrived just after 2:00, and quickly determined the issue was a small switch that needed to be replaced, and he had the part in his truck. The new switch was installed in about five minutes, plus another few minutes to put the dryer back together. Obviously, at this point I'm pretty thrilled with everything at this point, but this is where it went wrong. Gary tells me that the bill is going to be $220 plus tax. For less than 15 minutes of work, and a part that costs less than $10. He let me know that the $45 service call fee would be subtracted out as promised, leaving us at $175 plus tax. When I started asking more about the price of his labor, he told me to not worry about tax, and he knocked $5 off. So roughly $160+ tax, for 15 minutes of work, and a $10 part. Simple math tells me that Gary must charge $500 - $600/hour in labor, discounted from his original price of $600 - $800/hour. This surprised me, most technicians charge closer to $200/hour. I called Jason while Gary was working to ask about their labor charges. Jason was friendly and helpful as ever, but let me know that they don't have set rules for that. The technicians are allowed to bid, more or less, whatever they feel like for a particular job. I went into this excited to give these guys 5 stars, but the lack of oversight on how customers are charged left me a lousy taste. I understand margins and operating a business, having one myself, but I don't think customers should have to worry about paying for somebody's random mood on a given day. I would have been happy to pay $100-$125 for the 15 minutes of work and $10 part provided. I would understand being billed in 30 minute increments at $175-$200/hour, plus $20 for a $10 part. Unfortunately, I feel I was overcharged 25% - 35%, and that disappointed me. read more
