***** 5 stars AMPM Appliance Repair is excellent. I was about to buy a used Sub-Zero refrigerator but didn't want to sink money (and the hassle of moving it) into a lemon. Before pulling the trigger, I decided to have a pro inspect it first.I found AMPM through Yelp, called, and they got back to me right away -- super professional from the first contact and had the best rate of anyone I called. The owner, Jason, sent Pedro, a tech with 30 years of experience specifically on Sub-Zero units. He showed up exactly on time, ready to work. Pedro was friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to walk me through everything. He even explained (in plain English) how a compressor rebuild works and how they do rebuild at my home when the time comes.I told him I needed something that would easily last another 15+ years and, since I'm not an appliance expert, I wanted him to look for red flags a regular buyer would miss -- cracks, hidden damage, etc. He did a thorough inspection: checked the coils, tested the compressor, looked for condensation issues, signs of past leaks, you name it. His verdict? The fridge was in excellent condition. That gave me total confidence to buy it. Honestly, without Pedro and AMPM I would have been rolling the dice. Now I own a great Sub-Zero and know exactly who to call when it eventually needs service. AMPM's high Yelp rating is 100% deserved. Professional, competent, fair pricing, and genuinely nice people. Had an issue with my dishwasher stopping mid-cycle and found AMPM on Yelp. Messaged them for a quote/availability in the evening and the next morning Kevin, their tech, was at our home diagnosing the issue. He did a very thorough inspection before starting to disassemble the dishwasher (which he ended up not even having to do) and found that it was actually more than likely our outlet that was loose causing the machine to stop. He suggested we get an extension cord to run to a different outlet to test the machine and that proved that the machine was indeed fine so there was no need to do any service of the dishwasher. Honest and reliable, great availability to come same/next day, very responsive via Yelp messaging, and took the time to explain everything in a way I could understand it. Worked with AMPM to try to resolve a broken washing machine issue and I had nothing but a great experience using this company. To start this company was extremely quick to responding to my yelp messages and being clear on the upfront service fee and timeline to get someone out to me. I was impressed as not only were they quick to reply they also offered to have someone out to me that same day. While that didn't work for my schedule it was nice to know if I was having a true emergency I could have gotten their team out that quick. Instead I opted for the weekend and they could accommodate which was awesome. I so appreciate that they do weekend house calls and at no extra fee. Coordinating my appointment was seamless and the messages and text exchanges were professional and clear. They sent out Jeff to check my washing machine and to come up with a problem diagnosis. Jeff was right on time for when they said he'd be out to me and I appreciated that they called in advance to let me know when we was 30 minutes out, again great communication and they stuck to the appointment time. Jeff was lovely to work with. He was professional, kind, and clear at explaining the issue. I was impressed that within minutes Jeff was able to diagnosis the problem and explained to me the issue extremely clearly and patiently. As a female who has 0% "fix it skills" or understanding of anything home repairs related, I was grateful to have someone come out who was clear on the issues and explained it to me in a way I could understand. He was patient and answered all of my questions (even if I thought they were stupid ones). He even showed me the issues by turning different things so I could hear the issues for myself and it all made sense. Unfortunately the repair parts and labor cost weren't worth giving them the additional money to tix the issue as it would be cheaper and a better investment to buy a new washing machine, but that isn't their fault. Most importantly I didn't spend a fortune figuring out the issue and they let me know the next steps for repairs right away if that was what I wanted to do. Given that I wasn't going to move forward with fixing the machine, it was nice that Jeff was willing to give me advice on future machines per my questions/request. He was neutral on his recommends and professional, but I appreciated him even engaging in letting me know which machines seem to have better luck and what he would recommend because he didn't need to engage but I trusted his expertise based on his thoroughness and knowledge of washers/dryers. Really nice guy and if I ever needed an appliance looked at in the future I would definitely ask for him specifically and use AMPM as a business for my appliance repair needs.
