For under $14, you get 14 items of different South Indian dishes inspired by the Andrah region. The food has a perfect level of medium spiciness and tasted like it was made fresh. I liked every single item in the thali with the highlights being the spicy buttermilk, beans, curry, and curd rice. The servers were great and very friendly. Highly recommend you try this place out! Service is fast and the staff is really nice. Dosa is perfect. The potato masala didn't work for us. Sambar and chutneys were ok, nothing special. But we loved the ginger chutney the most. We were in the mood for cutlet. But realized that it was a mistake to order it here. It had a weird taste and smell. When we asked the staff, they first said they will replace it with another item. But soon after he came back saying this was made fresh and it was on us to eat or leave. We were craving authentic Andhra food tonight and decided to have dinner here. Upon entering, you choose a table if you're dining in, use the table number to place and pay for your order, and the food is then served to you and you are expected to clean up after yourself. The lady at the counter seemed disinterested and somewhat condescending. Despite this, the food was served promptly. We ordered Andhra Bandi Dosa, Ghee Idly, Mysore Bonda, Punugulu, Ghee Karam Masala Dosa, and Thali. The food was truly authentic, fresh, and flavorful, with excellent chutneys, sambar, and accompaniments. Tea is available for free if you enjoy tea with your meal. Andhra bandi dosa - it was very spicy. I was expecting it to be a more tasty affair. The tomato chutney was salty. (3 stars) 2. Poori with Aalu - the potato masala was salty, 2 big pooris, it might have been good to have 3 smaller pooris, nothing special, but it is not a special dish (3 stars) 3. Chitti punigulu - A regional specialty. It was very decent. Peanut chutney was very good. (4.5 stars) 4. Thali - Thali defines an Andhra restaurant. It was very subpar. It did not have any veggie side dish, only had cabbage fryum, and kara boondi as side dishes. The rice was luke warm. One good thing is they served all food in bio containers (at least they looked good). They did not have wooden cutleries though, they were plastic. Used to be one of the best dosa places -- based on the most recent experience I'd consider it as an average dosa place. The dosa here is so tasty, but if you aren't a fan of onion, shallots....stay away. Hard to read the menu and choose which one, that means this is an authentic legit Indian place. But I have my fav now, Bombay Jini, so delicious and tasty, perfect crepe crispiness. I tried the chili one Mirchi baji, omy so spicy but addicting, I finished almost all of them. Ghee Karam Idli was recommended by an Indian friend, was ok not my favorite. This is the only Indian place that I frequent for casual food and let me tell you, one dosa is very filling. 100% Vegan. read more

Food is served in disposable plates with disposable cutlery. You clean up after yourself. I came at 6:35 pm just before the rush. Found a seat for myself and ordered Mini Ghee Karam Idly Onion Rava Masala Dosa (Masala on side) Filter coffee The onion rava masala dosa came in 15 minutes. The onions were provided raw on the side. It was not cooked along with the dosa. I am used to the onions cooked along with the dosa and a dash of ghee on my Rava Dosa and that was definitely missing. Had the chopped onions been sprinkled on the griddle first and then the batter was poured it would have been better. The chutneys were flavorful. Peanut/coconut chutney and tomato chutney. The Sambar was andhra style and flavorful. At the time of writing this review at 7:16 pm my Mini Ghee Karam Idly had not arrived and I am feeling bad to occupy a table when others are waiting. This is their first week and all dishes are 50% off till tomorrow. I would be back to try other dishes on the menu soon. Note : I got my Mini Ghee Karam Idly at 7.20 pm. It was served with three chutnies. The ginger and green chili chutney was out of the world. I would have liked my Karam Idly spicier. It was bland. There was an overload of ghee. It's the best South Indian food I've tried in the Bay Area. Their rice dishes especially are really good. My only complaint is the ambiance, paper plates and utensils feel cheap and the lighting inside feels like a hospital.
