Amsden House has been a staple in the area for YEARS! It's been around since before I was. Used to frequent this place as a kid and it's just as good today as it was so many years ago. It's truly small town USA. It's nothing fancy but it's a homey feeling. The food is delicious and you won't leave hungry. Service is always quick and friendly how you would expect in a small town. Definitely worth checking out and supporting a small locally owned business. read more

This place is great! Old, classy, dinner to the max! Fast friendly service, clean restrooms...what more could you want? I think most people come here for breakfast, but I did lunch. Was looking at the chopped salads, but then saw the smoked pork chop. Okay, you had me at smoked. Included a salad and coleslaw. Bone in, like a little T-Bone steak. About 1/2" think- would have preferred a much thicker chop, but for $10, I'm not complaining. The meat was a bit tough, but the flavor was off the charts! The salad was nothing special but the coleslaw was tasty. Need to come back for breakfast! read more

Wile driving through Bellevue, we decided to stop at Amsden House for lunch. Such a charming little diner! Great prices and food! The service was also wonderful. A little slice of history, as it has been open since 1940. read more

The service people are nice enough... For is bad. Omelets are flat, don't taste good. Kitchen management is awful. Took over 40 minutes to get our food. Pancake is decent. Water is okay. Home fries meh. Bagel decent, nothing special, but was at least not bad. It was crowded & folks we were visiting swore by toss place as a great place to eat. I guess there's not enough to compare by, and this is the only place to eat around here? Yuck. So disappointed. I was here a couple of years ago. Stopped by here for breakfast while passing thru town. Place was a try, old school diner with huge servings and good food. You won't go home hungry and your pocketbook will be safe here. Waitress was great and the food is solid. They are not afraid to load your plate up with potatoes. Well done. read more

We were nearby at Seneca Caverns and a lady working there gave us a recommendation to eat lunch here as a "place the locals eat at". We were very impressed!! The food was so so good! Your typical diner! Very sweet female server. She was a hustler! Really got around quick and had everyone taken care of! My aunt & I both had the Reuben sandwiches, and they were delicious! The food was alright. I got the Texas French toast and had to add cinnamon and sugar on it. The locals constantly stare. The service was welcoming. Bacon was too crispy for me and the eggs were not the best. I was asked if i wanted anything else and I didnt order anymore. My family and I go here fairly regularly. Their breakfasts are excellent. Love their biscuits and gravy and one-eyed Jack's. My sil loves their homemade sausage. Gluten free people can eat here without worrying about contamination. Highly recommend if you're ever passing through town. Reasonable prices and decent service as well. read more

We came here for breakfast. I got the western omelet with wheat toast and coffee. The omelet came and was perfect except for one major problem...no cheese ! I was so disappointed. They have great coffee too but I only got offered one refill and sat there with an empty cup for 30 minutes and then we departed. read more

This little restaurant came as quite the surprise to us. We have lived here for 15 years and just came across Amsden House Restaurant. They are only open for breakfast and lunch, but what a nice steak and eggs special. The eggs were cooked to perfection atop a mound of home fried (scalloped style) potatoes. The steak was large enough to be served for dinner and cooked perfectly as well. I had sourdough toast and it was great too. Its definitely worth your while if you want a generous and delicious breakfast at a reasonable price. read more
