Not very good food at all. Ate at the dinner section (not hibachi) and the menu does not have many good options. No descriptions, and even the food we ordered was very bad. Crab Rangoon felt like they were frozen, and 12 dollars for 2 Rangoons?!? Entrees were not better, the garlic spicy chicken was not spicy at all. No salt, no spice, and the chicken was so damn chewy. The price is what makes it really outrageous and not worth your money at all!!! Sushi was also very bad, not fresh ingredients at all. They have 50 sushi options, and that tells you a lot about how the quality of it would be. Got 2 rolls, the avocado was super mushy, and the meat almost felt fake. Just don't go please. Amura had been on our list for a while and we finally tried it out for my husbands birthday. We arrived around 6:30 on a Friday night fully expecting a wait and were seated right away with 4 other people. My husband and I both had the chicken hibachi and it was so yummy. He enjoyed the spicy tuna roll as well. It was so fun watching the hibachi show! The portion sizes were a bit smaller compared to other hibachi restaurants, even though the photo doesn't look like it. You also had to choose between soup and salad and I've always received both at hibachi. The service was pretty slow but the food made up for it. We will be back! read more

We went last night for the anniversary event the have and I went with the lobster volcano roll ($24) which was tasty but just a touch mushy and the turquoise ocean roll which has real crab and shrimp and it was yummy. Wanted a nice sushi place for a friend and I that wasn't far from Lake Mary/ Sanford area. Found this place but wow prices were so so so expensive . WHO CARGES 20 DOLLARS FOR A ROLL. The crab Rangoon was really good and the sushi to me was just okay. Zach the bartender was really really attentive and helpful and I wouldn't mind trying their hibachi grille room sometime but I don't think I can afford to come back for sushi. I came here on a Friday at lunchtime for a work meeting. The place was clean with very fast service. We ordered a bunch of apps and rolls and everything was so good! I always ask for suggestions and the waiter suggested that the Bubba roll was very popular so I tried that. The roll was fresh and tasty. We also had the Lobster Volcano roll. It was so creative and so much going on with that roll in a good way. The Lobster, shrimp and crab pieces, and jalapeños! Omg what an amazing roll. This place has really gone downhill. Our family has lived in the Lake Mary area for 15 years, and the quality here has consistently declined over time. After this most recent experience, it will definitely be our family's last time "giving them another try." Despite recently seeing this restaurant on the news for being shut down due to health code violations, we decided to come for my sister's birthday since it's always been her favorite spot. We figured they would be on their best behavior after reopening -- unfortunately, we were wrong. We had a party of 12 seated in the hibachi section for the experience, but they split us into two grills. The waitress said it would be "too overwhelming" for one chef, so we expected two. Our reservation was for 7:30, but the chef didn't start cooking until after 8:20 even though we ordered everything right away. The soup was completely flavorless -- three of our family members sent theirs back because it tasted like watered-down ginger. When the chef finally came out, there was only one. He was forced to juggle both grills, cooking one group's food while the other sat watching their meal overcook. It was stressful and uncomfortable to watch him struggle like that. Cross-contamination was also a serious concern. He used the same utensils for raw chicken and mixed the cooked vegetables multiple times. Most of the food was overcooked, the noodles were mushy from sitting on the grill the entire 45 minutes and several plates the meat was completely unseasoned -- while others were not. To make matters worse, the birthday girl sat at the table that received no entertainment or "hibachi show." She literally watched the chef's back while he focused on the other side. (Again not the chefs fault for the lack of support) When I spoke to the manager, he showed zero concern. No apology, no effort to make things right. His attitude alone reflected exactly why this restaurant's standards have fallen so low. At $50 a plate (with the added gratuity) the food and service are completely unacceptable. If the health code issues don't shut this place down again, the lack of care and quality surely will. Lake Mary is a high-end area, and this restaurant no longer measures up. The thing that sets them apart is the quality of the food and the service. The prices are a bit high, but we always have a great meal. Their teams are well trained and I find myself getting things as I'm asking for them... which is pleasant. Watch out for parking around this location as there is a lot of construction, but that's not Amura's fault. We had a great meal, as expected. read more

This place needs to change some things if they want to become better and have more customers. We went on a Saturday night and it was basically empty. The 3 hostess were all on their phone when we came in which should've been by sign to try another restaurant nearby. Also, every employee was wearing their regular clothes, I didn't see any sort of uniform in place which shocked me, I've never seen that before! The server was a little on the rude side. Had a "Japanese Whiskey Sour", which was a pleasant quaff. Started with a bowl of Miso Soup which was "Miso Soup". Basic and welcome. The Sushi was actually quite fine. Decent cuts and it was fresh. Had a large roll with lobster tempura in it. Tasty. Nothing to knock me out, but it hit the spot. Miss Frigid Waitress was ok in her service, if not exactly cordial. Wasn't looking or expecting for a chummy situation, but I'd rather not be served by someone who acted like we were a nuisance in her life. (Should also say-we were sober and did not say/do anything to provoke poor service) A decent feed, but not prime time material. I attended a birthday hibachi dinner celebration on Friday, January 20, 2023. We were a group of fifteen adults and children. I've had Amura's hibachi dinner in the past and I wasn't impressed. I believe there are better restaurants for this style of dining in the Orlando metro area. That being said, I opted for the Combination Dinner Entree with Chicken and Shrimp. The hibachi meal also comes with Japanese Clear Soup or Ginger Salad, Teriyaki Noodles, Hibachi Mixed Vegetables and either Fried or Steamed Rice. I knew this meal may not be going in a positive direction when I didn't even finish my clear soup. The soup had an off putting flavor which I've never experienced before in a Japanese restaurant. As to the main meal, both the chicken and shrimp were not tender or juicy and lacked any flavor. The noodles, mixed vegetables and fried rice also suffered the same fate of being tasteless. I wracked my brain trying to understand how a meal could be this bland with the amount of butter and soy sauce which was heaped on during the cooking process. At the end of the day, I neither finished my meal nor requested a leftover takeout container. I do give kudos to the hibachi chef for his entertainment skills. Also, the server, Wila was friendly, accommodating and attentive towards our group. As to my assessment of the food though, they advertise as the "Best Sushi in Orlando" and they may have something to hang their hat on as I've sampled their sushi before however, if they ever marketed themselves as the "Best Hibachi in Orlando" they certainly would be sued for false advertising. read more

We had one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had at Amura. We came in for their advertised special, hoping for a nice evening out, but ended up waiting over two hours for our food-even though the restaurant was half-empty and many other customers had already left. When the food finally arrived, it was bland, tasteless, and served in tiny portions. Honestly, it felt like a complete afterthought. We weren't the only ones disappointed-other tables were complaining too. When we expressed our concerns, the manager literally said, "It is what it is." No apology, no effort to make things right. Just an incredibly dismissive attitude. We will never return to Amura, and we're letting everyone we know hear about this awful experience. My first time eating here, ordered delivery. It was my first sushi since being in Fl. I ordered sushi and the spicy seafood noodle soup. The delivery was as promised and the handoff impeccable! I was working during tax season so a detail like that is important. I knew I had too much for lunch, that it would be two meals, so I ate the Volcano Roll first. I was amazed by the freshness and flavor of the dish. Everything about it delighted my palate and had me go back until there was no more. While I was saving the soup for the next day, I did give it a taste in anticipation of a real treat. Unfortunately it was a bit too fishy for me. Lighting is bad, my seat had a tear in it but the food oh my goodness was awful. Ordered three rolls. Fish had a mushy consistency, were not made properly - volcano roll is apparently served deconstructed- and were not even of sushi buffet quality. Three publix rolls would have been a better option. While it is not my favorite sushi spot in Orlando, the sushi is good and with plenty of options. Staff is great, friendly and attentive the moment you walk into the restaurant. We got a regular menu and a paper menu with all the sushi, sashimi and nigiri options. Your server will give you a pen to make your selections. Super easy and simple. We got our order fairly quickly for a Friday night and we also didn't have reservations. Probably, people outside were waiting for the hibachi section. Hibachi is on my list to try next time. I don't have a favorite sushi roll here; I can't never remember what I ordered previous times. But is does needs to include tuna or salmon. I haven't been here in years. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised as the food was really good. We came on a Saturday night around 6:30 and there were plenty of open tables. We ordered some sushi and dumpling to start off. Then I ordered the Malaysian Chicken Curry. This was incredible and came with a house ginger salad. It was very spicy but, the flavors of the spices were so good. I'll be coming back just for this dish. The sushi was really good too and super fresh. Only reason for 4 stars was the ambiance. This place is dated and hasn't changed since I first visited 15+ years ago. The booths need to be reupholstered and there were some cobwebs around most of the light fixtures. It's your standard ware and rare but it's quite obvious that it needs some TLC. Some serious touch ups would bring this place back to life. Nonetheless, I'm coming back for the curry!! read more

We also ordered the Japanese Whiskey Sour and I got the Malaysian Mojito! The sour was amazing. The mojito I felt like needed more alcohol, it tasted like coconut with lime juice. It was still very good. For dinner we ordered 5 rolls of sushi and the plating was great. We got the: Volcano Roll, Tokyo Roll, Rainbow Roll, Turquoise Ocean and a Hurricane Roll. They were very delicious! Turquoise Ocean and Volcano were my favorite. Some of the rolls however, were falling apart and you could see they were a bit messy. While we were waiting for our meal, in 2 different occasions, the staff had a mix up and brought out plates of appetizers to our table that we did not order that we had to decline. Overall, did we leave with full belly's? Yes. We got served at a reasonable time and our water cups were never left empty for too long. The table was clean and so was the restaurant. I've been here quite a bit with friends and on my lunch break. The inside of the place is nice and the staff are very friendly. Harry Potter is my favorite waiter! First we ordered some hot Sake, it is very smooth. One time they put raspberry liquor in it and it was a great combo. I would definitely recommend trying it. Our first appetizer was the Krab Rangoon. It wasn't really what we were expecting, it was very different from the Krab Rangoon we are used to. It looked like it was fried in Panko and served with like a mayo sauce? It tasted okay. We wouldn't order this again. Then we had the Miso soups that came with the lunch soups. It was really good but didn't have any tofu. Way better than other places miso soups though. It wasn't watery or too salty. We also got the Steamed Gyoza. These were okay, a bit bland. Could have used a bit more flavor or seasoning in the filling. Maybe they're better fried. I had the Spicy Garlic Shrimp bento box with the Hawaiian roll. The shrimp were really good, I think it's one of the best things I've had here. Their fried rice just tastes steamed, maybe it's better if you get it hibachi style. I didn't like the Fried Green Beans much, I wish they just gave the normal vegetable tempura on the side. I liked the Shumai that comes with the bento box. The roll was good but I think it needed a little crunch. My two friends who got the Donburi bowls said they were okay. That the vegetables that came with it seemed a bit raw and lacked seasoning. The Chicken Teriyaki roll was okay but drenched in teriyaki sauce. The simpler sushi rolls are also on the pricey side. Lastly for dessert we got the Crème Brûlée. The presentation was very cute. It tasted good but more like pudding than Crème Brûlée. The food here is a bit pricey even during the lunch special. The food is okay but not for the price. They have a big menu of items but not every one of them is a hit. I would recommend just sticking to ordering the specialty rolls and the bento box. read more

Amazing staff and an amazing chef. I went with a group of five for my friend's birthday. We had reservations and were seated in the Hibachi room. The Birthday girl had a blast and so did we. I ordered a sushi roll, but there was so much food that everyone shared and I was able to taste it all, including the steak. The steak melted like butter and was surprisingly so full of flavor! The absolute worst customer service and very rude. I stopped by dinner on Saturday night around 6 PM (not too late - so it wasn't busy). Upon sitting we were greeted by the waitress and a trainee and everything was fine. We placed our order and waited for our food. Once we received our food we noticed that our fried rice was burned. Like really burned everywhere. I called the waitress and I explained her the issue and she said "I def can see that it is burn but I will see what I can do but I don't promise you nothing because the kitchen doesn't like redoing plates" That was a bit weird but I wasn't blaming her. I actually admired how honest she was but was dumbfounded for the remark. She came back to tell me that the kitchen didn't wasn't to re do it and her suggestion was to speak with the manager. The service where they fall short, especially at the bar. The bartenders seem aggravated each time we've been there, like you are bothering them when you ask for a drink. If they are overwhelmed by handling the restaurant and bar demand, they should add a Well bartender to handle the servers needs letting the bartender pay attention to bar guests. They inquired about food allergies before we even had to say anything and the staff made sure all our food was safe. For appetizers, we got the gyoza, calamari, and egg rolls. All were good. The calamari was crisp and not chewy. The egg roll was greasy and flavorful. The dumplings were perfectly prepared. For our entree, we just ordered a bunch of sushi rolls.
