I somehow managed to screw up a few things and caused more problems when I tried to DIY a minor plumbing problem. As a result, the water valve to my washing machine began to leak more and I somehow managed to break my main water valve. I had to get a handyman to come in asap to fix the washing machine valve but decided to wait on the main water valve as it wasn't as bad. AMX came the next morning to fix the main. I should've just waited and hired Max at AMX plumbing for both jobs. His quote for the main water valve was cheaper than the handyman, he's licensed, and went above and beyond to fix my problem. The other handyman straight up took advantage of me for a simple fix. AMX wanted to take care of me. Much better pricing and more reliable work. I might have to redo the work the handyman did but I'm pretty sure AMX work won't need to be redone. Highly recommend. read more

Max did a great job replacing our exterior gas line to our stove (3 stories up). He showed up on time and finished in just about 3-4 hrs - very efficient, especially since he had to troubleshoot screwing the pipes together, as they needed to be in perfect alignment in order to screw them together. At certain points, he had to cut the holes the pipes were going through, a little bit larger, so he could align them more easily. Max was kind, nice to talk to, and very informative. He gave me a fair price for the job that I could afford, unlike some of the other quotes I got, which seemed incredibly high. I will definitely call on him again in the future for other projects. I try to legalize two as built bathrooms. Hired an architect to draw up the plan and got approved. I was able to get building and electrical permit as an owner. Max is rude and extremely disrespectful! Watch out for this guy and his business attitude. He cares nothing about his clients and comes off one way joking to suck you in but, beware of the Devil. He can turn on and off in a matter of seconds. He'll try to give you his so call Professional opinion to only get more money out of you. He literally gets mad when you ask him questions which is an excellent sign of misleading information and to get you out of more money. Max might know what he's doing but no amount of knowledge can take the place of being pressured into making you spend more money. Max recently completed some work on a home we purchased that needed some plumbing work. He replaced the water heater, extended some water lines to add a bib to the backyard, installed a laundry sink, set up washer and dryer hookups and installed a water pressure reducing valve with an expansion tank. He provided a written estimate of how much the work would cost and thought it would take a couple days. He arrived on time on Monday and got to work with all of the tools and material needed to do the work. He asked for clarification when needed to ensure placement of sink etc., but mostly set off to complete all tasks. Max did an awesome job. I've been using Max for many years. From our very first Dinosaurs Sandwich shop in the Castro... He is very attentive and detail oriented when it comes to knowing exactly what you need and how you want things done. His experience and skill truly show in his work. We/ve thrown obstacles his way like installing a 3 compartment, hand-wash, and food prep sink in a limited space. Our ocean location is 200sq ft and without his type of skill and experience i don't think anyone else could've got the job done right. Ive had to use other plumbers in the past whenever Max is out of town or too busy with jobs and I have to say its the worst experience. I've had plumbers quote us and accept the full job and then try to pull a fast one at the end to argue the quote was for labor only and they'd tack on a few hundred dollars more for parts. I've been doing this for 6 years... 4 sandwich shops and a production kitchen. I know what going rates are, i get the same type of sinks and grease traps installed every time we do a build out so I know when we're getting ripped off. Max's prices has always been more then fair and often gives us deals because of the bulk jobs we need done and how long we've been working with him. I would highly recommend him for any commercial or residential type application. He does a finish job. What i mean by that... Let me give an example: I've had plumbers that cut sheet rock holes out of our wall to expose pipes install sinks and at the end leave the wall exposed and say the work is done. Max doesn't cut corners and will always patch our walls back and have the job looking complete to where I dont have to have another contractor come in to finish the job or do the work myself. I've also had plumbers that have mounted sinks to my wall that don't find a stud or at the minimum use wall anchors. Then after a few weeks the sink would shake off the wall. Max will always locate a stud or install a cross member to be supported by a stud to have that sink sturdy. He gets the job done right which will last many many years. I could probably stand on the sinks he's installed at all my shops.
