Such a nostalgic spot for me! I grew up in the area and have gone here since being in HS. When I have guest in town, this is one of the first places I think of taking them. The food portions are HUGE and the cost isn't too bad either. We all got scrambles / omelets and they really don't hold back. The quality is still amazing and all my friends loved it. The service was quick and there wasn't a wait on a Friday morning.

I really hate to leave a less then positive review for a small business, but I was genuinely not too happy with our experience. I had brunch with my girlfriends here a few months ago. Being a busy Sunday, we did have to wait about 20 minutes (for our party of 5) which was fine. They did allow one of us to put down our name, but we all had to arrive to be seated. Parking was easy and plentiful in the nearby lot. We are seated at a 4 top which is completely workable however, a bigger table opens up and we asked to move to that table and our request was denied. Then, to add insult to injury, a party of 3 are seated at the larger table! Even though, the food was delicious, and the portions were super generous, we were crowded and uncomfortable. Our server was missing most of the time and our requests for coffee refills were ignored. My girlfriends and I did have an enjoyable meal because we hadn't seen each other in a while and had fun catching up. Aside from the good company, our experience was far from ideal. Because of that reason, I do not think I will be returning.

We came here for brunch on the weekend and it was popping! Our friend got here 10 minutes before us to get a table. We parked a block or two away. It was super sunny and the sidewalk was full of people waiting to get in. They had menus for people to look at while they waited. I think it might have been another 30 minutes for us to be seated, this place is popular! My partner had the turkey club and I got the breakfast burrito. We didn't wind up finishing our food because the portions are huge. We took them home as leftovers. Everything tasted good and service was friendly and quick. Would come again, though maybe at a less crowded time. Decor was cool, dog themed where we were sitting.

Came here with three other friends on the weekend around 11 AM and it was very busy, but the system they have is so efficient that it didn't even feel like a long wait. They take your party name and your order outside, so by the time you're seated, your food comes out almost instantly. Everything felt super fast even though there was a wait. As soon as I walked in, I loved the vibe. The tables are see-through and filled with little momentos, which was really fun to look through while sitting there. There's also a lot of art on the walls, making the whole place feel very lively. One small touch that stood out to me was a wall dedicated to loved ones and pets -- it was really touching and added such a positive feel to the space. The restaurant is a good medium size, with a few small tables outside if you want to sit out there. There's also a parking lot off to the side with plenty of spaces for the strip, so parking wasn't an issue. The food was very good -- tasty and flavorful. Even though I'm giving this place 5 stars because I genuinely loved everything about it, we did find a hair in one of my friend's meals. However, they immediately handled it and replaced her entire dish with no issues, which is exactly how it should be handled. Mistakes happen, but they took care of it right away. Overall, great experience and I would definitely come back.

I recently went to Skillet'z Cafe for a weekend brunch with my girlies. The cafe is located in Niles Town, this area have its own old historical vibe, lowkey felt like I was time traveled to old Hollywood. We arrived around noon and waited about 10-15 minutes for a table on the outdoor patio, not bad at all for peak brunch time. Once seated, the service was incredibly fast and friendly. Their menu got sooo many options + daily specials, so there's something for everyone. There was 3 of us but we ordered 4 plates (as we should lol). We got the classic scramble eggs with hashbrown and bacon, an omelette with spinach and mushroom (also hashbrown ofc), and I got the steak with roasted potato, scramble eggs, and english muffin. For dessert, we got the Sweet Ethan pancake to share because... priorities. My girls also got orange juice and a mocha coffee for their drinks. The portion here is HUGE huge. Everything tasted like it was made with love and care, we were hungry and tried our best to finish the food but still had leftovers... I wasn't hungry again till late dinner time... Overall such a good time, good food, good vibes. Definitely recommend if you in the area. Just be ready to be in a food coma, but you can always walk it off around the town to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Food was food i got the spicey chicken melt and the oreo bomb ice coffee. Unfortunately the wait time took 45 mins to get a seat due to it being fathers day on a Sunday. Otherwise i would try it again if im in the area and theres a minimal wait time. Seating is tight and the building is old and small just FYI be prepared to wait on the weekends to get a seat.

This place is great! From the location to the service and of course the food! I came here with my boyfriend a couple years ago and we've been coming back since! My whole family enjoys this cafe so much and we celebrate a lot of birthdays here! They have an outdoor patio area for seating that's very cute and perfect for sunny days! It's covered so you won't get burnt by the sun!! The service is absolutely amazing, you order before sitting down so that by the time you get sat, your foods practically ready! I love the system they have and it seems to work very well for them! The food is delicious as well as their drink options! This time I decided to order their strawberry matcha and it was soooo yummy! My niece ordered their banana matcha and that was just as good!!! The food always tastes fresh and homemade. It's like you can taste the love they add into their food! Everyone I love adores this place and we'll continue to come and enjoy their delicious food, outstanding service and fun atmosphere!

Highly recommend brunch place! The best value for huge portions of delicious food, I can understand the hype now! The service was super quick, we went in on a Monday so it was super chill.

This restaurant is always so busy, and there's a reason for it. Once again, had a great experience here. Staff and Service: - We made a reservation ahead of time, which helped - Decide what you want to eat outside, place your order with the person outside, and your order will come to you when you sit down Food and Drinks: - Banana matcha: so good! I w deciding between this and the strawberry matcha, but do not regret my decision (cannot substitute for non-dairy milk) - Mexican scramble: such big portions! This was delicious and filling - Chilaquiles: also delicious and filling with big portions. The carne asada comes in big pieces (just FYI) Miscellaneous: - Parking is available via a parking lot next to the restaurant, as well as street parking - Good for small and large groups (there was a group of 8 or so in front of us)

    Daniel F.

Ordered the deluxe chicken fried steak and eggs, and the Monte Cristo sandwich. Been here a couple times, definitely my favorite brunch/breakfast foods place. They give you huge portions, so there are always leftovers, but the food itself is always so well seasoned and satisfying. There are a lot of Mexican inspired menu items that are quite unique to this place, hard to go wrong with any of the menu items here!

Skillet'z is a fun, lively stop for breakfast. Thanks Check, Please! Bay Area for the tip. I made a reservation via Yelp, anticipating a crowd on a Saturday morning. When we got there, around 9 a.m., there were still open tables, so the reservation felt unnecessary at that hour. There was, however, a line by the time we left. The food options are so numerous that it took a bit of thought to decide what to get. Many of the dishes are meat heavy and creatively combine recurring ingredients. Service was pleasant, efficient and extremely fast. Different staff are assigned to bringing water, filling coffee, taking orders, delivering food and dropping off the check, so we felt well taken care of. We had a few special requests for our food and the server and kitchen filled our order perfectly. Know that the portions are extremely large, so bring your appetite or consider splitting an entrée. You definitely will not be hungry shortly after this meal. Customers slip pictures, business cards, stickers and the like under the clear dining table protector, making it a community bulletin board of sorts. Make a mental note to bring something of your own to add if you like. The location is in a historic and walkable shopping area, perfect for a stroll after your meal. Since I had never been to this neighborhood before, exploring felt like a brief staycation. Don't miss the Niles Fremont Farmers' Market down the street if you stop by on a Saturday morning.

    Chicken and Waffles
    Jennifer N.

Chicken and Waffles (8/10): This meal was so filling and definitely worth the price. The waffles had almost a vanilla-cake mix flavor which was super different from any other waffle I've had!! The chicken was a bit salty for me but pairing it with the waffles makes it perfect. The mac n cheese was a bit cold when it came out, but tastes just fine. Hash brown was crispy on the top and soft in the middle. Service was really quick! We went at around 1:30pm, so it was too busy. Waitress was friendly, and the restaurant itself felt very homey. It's one of those restaurants that you must try if you go to Niles.

Skillet'z remains as one of my favorite breakfast spots. The service is quick and friendly every time I go. I like that they take your order ahead of time so the food comes out quickly after being seated. It makes things go a lot smoother. I've eaten here 3x in the last 4 months and my new fave is the Hella Bay breakfast sammich. Sourdough bread, hamburger patty, American cheese and Denver omelette eggs. Hella Bay is hella good!

Between Saturday or Sunday, which day is the easiest for parking? Do they have a private lot to park?

Sunday is slightly easier for parking. There is a weekly Saturday Farmer's Market that is down the street which draws in large crowds.. The two parking lots in Niles are public parking, and there's usually plenty of street parking as well on the… Read more

What is the average wait for a party of 4 for breakfast on a Saturday morning?

The couple of times I went on a Saturday it was no more than a 15-20min wait. While you're waiting they take your order. When they do seat you, they're bringing you your food.

What are the vegan options? This place is tagged as having vegan options, but I don't see anything on the menu photos, and no menu on the website ;(

I'd call to find out. The menu is large so I'm sure you can either custom make something or it is there, and you are not seeing it. Sorry I could not be of more assistance.

    Do they still have beignets?

They were still on the menu last time I was there

    Are pets allowed?

This establishment is super DOG friendly!

How long are the waits Sunday morning?

My experience is that there is always a wait time on weekends. But they do. Good job at expediting as much as possible. Food is worth it too.

    Do you accept reservation?

    Unfortunately, they don't.

Are you now accepting gift cards?

    Is there stil outdoor dining?

    Yes

How is parking in this area?

There is also a good amount of street parking available. Saturday mornings are the busiest in this area since they also have a small farmer's market then.

Did you guys reopen for outdoor dining again? My friends and I are planning on having breakfast there this coming Sunday the 21st. Pls respond when you can. thank you

They were open a few weeks ago so I suppose they still are. There were many parties waiting. I'd text the number since they seem to prefer that for ordering just to confirm with them.

Anyone know if they take reservations now with the limited outdoor tables?

They do not take reservations, its a first come first serve basis. But they are super fast.

Can they accommodate a group of 25-30 on a Saturday late morning?

I would call them and see. Saturday's are extremely busy there because it's so good!

Do they have gluten free options?

I'm not sure, but I'm sure you can ask for substitutions

    Do they do reservations?

    They do not.

Are they dog friendly? (I searched "dog friendly restaurants", and they came up but I don't see any pics or info)

They're totally dog friendly. The owner LOVES dogs. There are water bowls out front at all times. Dogs are allowed through the back entrance on the lovely back patio and are… Read more

We were approached almost every 2 minutes by different hosts, the owner and another maybe co-owner Fidel - constantly being asked if everything was OK or if we needed more coffee which was asked in total about 8 times (not exaggerating as we were asked by different people lol). The cappucino was so good I was fine but I do like more coffee taste than milk which is why I asked for a flat white. Pancakes: Very well made with apple and whip cream topping, the kids ate way more of this than we thought they would. Yogurt: With granola, blood oranges, and pomegranate. We finished the whole thing, it was a very interesting blend of toppings that paired well with the drizzled yogurt.

TLDR: Indoor & Outdoor Seating…read more Wifi & Outlets (Inside) Low Prices & Good Drinks Friendly & Warm Staff Plenty of Parking --------------------------------------- I've been to The Nile Cafe 3-4x, and the friendly staff, good coffee, and low prices keep me coming back! 1. Atmosphere: I LOVE the small town vibes. Same 2 ladies always run the place. They know regulars by name, favorite order, and even details of families and travel plans!! The community makes it a very pleasant place. The inside is covered in vibrant, eye-catching murals (from a young woman artist who passed away - Fremont lore the owner can share!). There is equally colorful, mismatched, but endearing tables and chairs. The patio is huge and shaded, with many beautiful plants and cute deco! One down side is its loose sand and can be dusty. 2. Drinks / Food Drinks are insanely priced! Smalls (12 oz) are $3.80, and Larges (20 oz) are $5.50. Loved the Vietnamese Coffee (my go to now) and thought the mocha was decent. They offer lots of different breakfast and lunch foods - toasts, omelettes, sandwiches, soups, and salads. I can't eat most of them, but the bread smells SO good! 3. Amenities Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, with wifi and outlets inside. Great place to study or work from home! Indoors tends to be a little busier, so I typically sit outdoors. There's parking outside with no time limit; later in the day it fills up but there's residential parking available on the same street. There is a bathroom that is a bit cramped, but functional. Overall a great, mom and pop cafe in Fremont!
