Purchased a squishy toy for my son and he changed his mind after realizing it's not what he wanted. Tried to return it literally MINUTES after the purchase but they said they can't take it back because it's opened and touched and they can't resell it. It was the same person who rang us up minutes prior. We didn't even take it out of the box... just literally felt it inside the box and realized it's not what he wanted. I mean, I would probably understand if that was shown anywhere in the store or even on the receipt... but nope. See picture for return policy on the receipt. I love Hallmark stores and this one is no exception!! It's very large with a great selection. There are so many cards (also in other languages), decor, gifts, clothing, and ornaments. I could spend hours in here and spend wayyyyy too much money. Speaking of spending money, that's my only ding for the rating. Some items are a little pricey. But that clearly doesn't keep me away... and, there are sales, coupons, and a really strong selection of nice cards at a good value. The staff is very friendly and helpful. read more

Very Unhappy! Had an online purchases shipped here for pick up from store. I knew it would be in a shipping box so I had my husband pick it up for me. So old bitty employee decided to open the box that was addressed to ME NOT HER and proceeded to show it to my husband and it was a surprise for him for Christmas. So much for my surprise! You aren't supposed to open mail not addressed to you lady! Never shopping here again. read more

This Hallmark was super cute. We were trying to bide time because we were in the area so we shopped around for a bit. I love Hallmark so we decided to check it out. The store wasnt super busy, but there were several shoppers perusing the aisles like us. We came in with no intentions, but Hallmark knows how to advertise so that's what brought us in. We don't have Hallmark at our mall in Bakersfield anymore, but we have that cute one on Coffee & Stockdale. All Hallmarks are pretty similar. What you will usually find are suitable greeting cards for just about anything. Over the years Hallmark has evolved to more than just greeting cards. You can find little knickknacks and just about something for everyone. The only thing is that most of the items are pricier than your local Walmart or Target, but I believe it's worth it, Anyway, if you ever stop by, don't say I didn't warn you. The time will go by so quickly. Next time you wanna get a cute and personal card, this is the place. Store is clean, owners and staff super duper friendly and helpful. I purchased three ornaments on October 9. I spent over $100 on those ornaments. That's crazy, I know, but that is a discussion for another time... When I purchased the ornaments originally, I thought I had a $10 off coupon with me. However, I never was able to find it so the clerk told me that I could bring the coupon back if I found it. I went back to the store on October 30 because I finally found my $10 off coupon that I knew I had. When I brought it back and explained that i wanted to return the ornament and rebuy it using my coupon, the acting manager, Sara, refused to let me use them. She told me that they didn't do price adjustments and then if I wanted to rebuy the ornament, I'd have to come back tomorrow. Seriously? That is not what the guy who sold it to me said. So, I asked her if I could buy any ornament except the one she was holding. She said yes, I could. So, I went and grabbed another one just like the one I returned, and she refused to help me. There has to come a time where common sense overrides store policy. What difference does it make if I buy the ornament today or tomorrow? Why waste my time and gas by making me come back? I wasn't asking for a price adjustment, I was asking them to honor the coupons that they said I could use and were still valid. read more

I just had an off experience at this location. I picked up an online order here, handed the cashier my ID card, signed the log, she hands me my wrapped order, and says "You didn't pay yet did you?" I said, "I did." She clearly did not believe me because she wrote my full name on a post-it note and stuck it on the register. I buy cards and gift wrap here all the time. I have never had a cashier insinuate I didn't pay for my ONLINE order or write my name on a note and stick it to the register like I'm scamming the friggin' Hallmark store. This whole experience left me flustered, I didn't even look at Christmas cards or use my free card coupon. read more

Debbi was kind and patient with me during my purchase. I went to get a bday gift for my mom and was looking for a specific theme. After purchasing a card I noticed a better one and decided to exchange it with the one I did. Debbi helped me with the exchange. Debbi made me feel comfortable, cared for, and excited about giving this gift to my mom. I needed two cards, for the same person, who had terminal cancer. I wanted one get well card and the other card to be a "Bon Voyage" card. It was a little macabre but I was going to a party, for her, it was how she wanted it to be. Anyway, I called ahead looking for the Bon Voyage card knowing it would be harder to find and was lucky enough to have Stephanie help me on the phone. I got there and she had already found a couple of cards and one was absolutely perfect for the occasion. Comparing to Manhattan Beach and it's snotty staff and tight space, this Hallmark in Lakewood is awesome! The staff is so attentive, friendly and attentive with guests. The space is big and everything is organized. You'll always see staff sorting or helping guests with a sweet manor. read more

Yesterday 6-8-19 I went in to purchase a few Father's Day cards and I was never greeted by the older lady cleaning nor the Asian lady on the floor. However, I was greeted and made to feel welcome by the young lady name Crystal who rung me up. I actually come to this card shop quite often and I can honestly say the young people who work here are more friendly then the older ladies that work here. Customer service is more than ringing a person up and Crystal was a perfect example of great customer service with a smile. I want to see the older ladies spend more time helping and greeting customers besides fixing shelves and decorations. read more

There are not that many Hallmark stores left since the recession, but I get excited when I find one in a mall or shopping center. I needed a few birthday cards and there is no better place than Hallmark to pick these up. The staff was really nice and polite. Love shopping at this store! I came here the other day to buy a nurse gift for my friend and ended up spending 2 to 3 hours just walking around admiring all of the fun gifts they had! No matter what the occasion is (birthdays, promotions, weddings, baby showers, and gifts for grandparents, teachers, nurses, etc.), there was a cute gift and perfect card to match! The goodies and cards they sell are a little pricey but it's so easy to find the perfect gift that you really are just paying a convenience fee! They also have a large clearance section so be sure to check that out first! Just an FYI - there are two entrances to this store. One from the mall and the other from the parking lot. I parked at Sees thinking I would be close but they actually have an entrance to the store directly from the parking lot so just look for the store in the parking lot! Great store! Fun place to shop! This Hallmark store is always very organized. The seasonal and holiday items are my favorite. Ask one of the employees where a certain type of card is, and they will find it for you. Ok so I don't buy a lot of cards but when I do I make sure to stop own by and check out this store in the Lakewood Mall. They have a nice selection of cards and gifts. Have to love the plush section being full of My Little Pony and other cute kids characters. There is a decent selection of chocolates near the counter. Check out is pretty smooth and the sales staff is very nice even in the midst of a deluge of family members remembering they need Mothers Day cards at the last possible moment. As much as I love Crane stationery, I only indulge every other year because I'm on a Rice-a-Roni budget. If I need cards I usually come to Hallmark. It's MUCH cheaper than Crane, but they still have cool stuff. And a bigger selection, too. My new favorite items are the cards that have audio. I got my older Star Wars obsessed sister a birthday card that played the SW theme: cover: "A Long Time Ago, in a Galaxy Far Far Away..." inside: "You Were Born." She loved it. But they have tons more, including an X-Files one that I wish someone would give me! The last time I came here I found a solar-powered bobble head. Now how cool is THAT??? It's so clean and modern and pleasant in this store, too, with good customer service, and tons of gifts, too. read more

Went to shop around here on a Saturday afternoon and we were greeted by the store manager Albert. He was extremely polite and professional and truly exhibited the essence of world class customer service. While I was in the store two ladies walked in and just as politely as Albert greeted us he greeted them. After a little bit the two ladies left the store accusing him of profiling and having a racial prejudice. This couldn't be further from the truth. Instead of getting angry like any normal person would, Albert maintained his composure despite the slanderous remarks. He kept his positive attitude about him and in a non condescending tone thanked them for coming into the store and wished them a happy afternoon. I'm writing this solely because of his professionalism in handling what is a very sensitive matter. Having worked in retail myself, I'm extremely aware of the challenge these situations cause and Albert did not miss a beat when it comes to providing exceptional customer service. As long as Albert is the manager here you can be rest assured you will be well taken care of. Oh yeah, my girlfriend bought a necklace that she's very happy with. We will definitely be back to shop here again. read more
