The service was prompt, and I appreciated being seated promptly upon arrival. The menu remains relatively unchanged, with the addition of alcoholic drinks. To start, we ordered an Ube Coffee and two Green Thai Teas (one with half-and-half, and one with coconut milk). The Ube Coffee was enjoyable, but unfortunately, the Green Thai Tea did not meet our expectations. The tea with half-and-half was too milky, while the coconut milk version lacked the desired creaminess and had questionable bits inside. For appetizers, we opted for the pork belly and fried oyster mushrooms. The pork belly was just as delicious as I remembered. However, the fried oyster mushrooms had an excessive amount of batter, overpowering the taste of the mushrooms themselves. Moving on to our entrees, we ordered the Vietnamese Sizzling Beef, Garlic Noodles with Pork Belly, and Caramelized Pork and Onion. All of these dishes exceeded our expectations; they were equally satisfying as my first visit. The brunch concept offers quality Vietnamese food, and the portion sizes were generous. I highly recommend trying the garlic noodles as they were a standout. Additionally, the baguette was perfectly toasted and paired well with the entire meal. We had no complaints whatsoever. It is worth noting that our total bill, including tip, came to a reasonable $120 for the three of us. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at An An Restaurant. Although located in NE Portland, which may be a considerable distance for some, the quality of food and exceptional service justify the journey. I look forward to returning soon.
