Love this coffee here, I've been twice and would definitely come back again if i was in the area. The Cuban cortada is my favorite.
We returned! Twice on this visit. I think I can speak for my fella, that this is one of our favorite coffee shops to visit when we are in the PNW. The coffee is consistently delicious. I reunited with the True Mexican Mocha which is rich, creamy, and magical, not to mention beautiful. Another highlight was the Biscoff concha. Seriously, Texas needs to step up their concha game. These mind blowing twists in Washington and Oregon are incredible. Soft pillowy vanilla concha topped with crumble Biscoff and cookie butter. My goodness. I can't even. On another occasion, I veered and tried La Roberta with dulce de leche and chili pasilla. It was sweet and spicy and hit another homerun. The other two pastries were good, but not as spectacular as the concha. I'm so glad we made it back and managed two visits on this trip and even more, I enjoyed knowing that La Perlita is still serving up magic.
I really wanted to like this coffee shop, I chose it out of all the many coffee shops in portland. Upon entering, there was no greeting, I as the customer, had to initiate and it still was not friendly. There was unfortunately no pan dulce, not their fault. However, the woman with the dyed hair and glasses taking my order was so unfriendly. I asked her about the special in which she said it's exactly what it sounds like. The sweet potato latte is actually pretty good, tastes like pumpkin spice and lechera. The mexican mocha, however, not too sweet and the rose powder on top was not enjoyed by my boyfriend. The cookie was also quite dry and they said they could not warm it up. The place is cutesy but her attitude was not.
Quiet and cozy place with good Mexican style coffee and drink. It's very quiet and the drinks are very nice! The hot chocolate melts in your mouth and warms up the soul. Highly recommend to stop by to have yourself a nice drink! Highly recommend the hot chocolate!
This small coffee shop located in North Portland is definitely worth checking out if you are a coffee connoisseur. I spoke with one barista who told me that all the drinks available on the menu come with authentic Mexican origins offering a variety of unique drink combinations. I personally chose the true Mexican mocha which tasted beautifully as it had a sweet note to start with hints of the spices included in the aftertaste. Both baristas working were super friendly and the indoor seating was comfortable with free, open wifi available to all patrons. Overall, I would highly recommend checking out this spot. Especially if you are looking for a coffee spot with some different options from the usual options, or are interested in learning more about the Mexican culture as it relates to coffee's origins.
We stopped to grab a just landed coffee from here in the afternoon. The coffee was excellent, and the service was great too. We were not disappointed one bit! I got a flash brew, a couple got Mexican mochas (hot and iced), and one got a cafe con leche. They made our drinks quickly, and we were happy to have made this our first stop - because it means we can go back more! The vibes were fun, it's very WFH friendly, and the space is in a pretty great area with street parking. I highly recommend prioritizing this on your coffee in Portland list.
I have been wanting to try a concha and came across this Mexican coffee shop that had great reviews. A small coffee and pastry was 7$. Pretty reasonably priced. The man who took my order was very friendly. The inside is very spacious and bright. This would be such a good spot to come back and do work at. They had a nice selection of pastries that looked yummy but I got the concha which was good. Great paired with a cup of coffee. It tastes like a sweet roll with a crunchy exterior. I warmed it up in the microwave when I got home and it was even better. I also heard they have great lattes here.
Loved visiting La Perlita! In my head I thought they were in a totally different part of Portland - I guess they moved, but I'm not sure when. So I was surprised to see they're on the East side, over on N Interstate a little above Killingsworth. Parking can be tricky to find on the narrow streets but it's free. I wasn't sure what to get, and they didn't have a seasonal special at the moment. So I ordered two drinks - the Mexican Mocha and the Cafe de Olla. Size small for each, came out to about $9. Both were outstanding! Beautiful art on the mocha. Delicious strong flavors. On the sweeter side (my preference). They use Reforma Roasters coffee. The space is modern and open. They have free wifi so it made for a good work spot!
I love the ambiance of this place. It was my first time trying a concha and I was told none of them were particularly sweet. I got the one with sprinkles and it tasted pretty good. Coffee is also delicious here. Parking is on the street. Service was no -nonsense, order and be on your way, but not unfriendly.
Coffee was amazing , had de Camote and the cafe de olla amazing ! Went during thanksgiving weekend so we didn't get to try the food. Definitely putting on the list for places to come again ! And again!
I had their Mexican iced mocha which was pretty good. 7.5/10. It had hints of orange which was unique. Their seasonal fall drink sounded really good but wasn't out yet so will have to go back to try that. Cute spot, had some nice seating inside and had an area to sit outside, would have been nice if they opened their gated garage door thing in the outdoor area.
When I'm in need of a good coffee, I know La Perlita will never let me down. I've been here many times and I can honestly say I've never had a bad coffee. We specifically came here, this time, for the stickers (Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero!) but were pleasantly surprised to see they had breakfast burritos! We def had to try them out! I ended up getting the bacon burrito and my partner had the chorizo burrito. While I enjoyed my burrito, I think I enjoyed the chorizo burrito a tad bit more! The salsas were on point, def gave it the kick it needed! Since we're already here we figured, why not get a panecito? I got the concha and my partner got the mochi donut. The concha was super soft and just delicious, as you'd expect! My partner wasn't a huge fan of the mochi donut. I think it's because the texture was more mochi than donut (understandably). I love coming here and will continue to come support la raza! Just as an FYI, parking is limited and streets are narrow.
The hot chocolate was my favorite, Mexican style. The concha was soft,fluffy and fresh. We came as soon as they opened so it was quick service but was busy a few minutes later. Love the art there, really representing Hispanic culture.

I love the spot. They roast. House made syrups. And consistently delicious coffee. Also the owner is so kind and love that they're holding space as first generation in the coffee space. Doin it. I'm 10000% here for it. read more

I've had La Perlita saved on my list of cafes to go to for the longest time, and I regret not coming sooner. street parking is limited and narrow, so be warned! i got the mexican cordadita- the latte art was beautiful, but the taste is what really sold me. smooth, delicate notes with strong espresso taste that doesn't over shadowing the other notes of the coffee. not quite sure what they put in here but the flavors were superb and I want another one!! I will come back to try their other drinks! the only pastry they had available at the time was the jalapeño cream cheese pastry- they warmed it up and it was delicious! soft and a perfect savory treat to pair with coffee. only wish there was more jalapeño because I like a slight kick :). overall a solid spot for coffee and to get some work done!! I really enjoy having and being at La Perlita in the morning, the energy in the store is always so welcoming and being away from home it kinda feels familiar in some parts. We tried a pan the other day too and a pan with your cafecito is all you need to get your morning feeling better. Thank yall for the great service and always delicious. Also I feel like my day just goes better with some perlita in the morning. I mean it's been a frequent pattern in my life right now and I'm taking every bit of good news we can get it's been a rough year America. This is now one of my favorite coffee shops in Portland! One of the many things I love about it is how convenient the location is, since I rely on the train, it's perfect that it's right in front of a stop. It's a great spot to work from, with plenty of seating and really solid Wi-Fi. The coffee is amazing too! I ordered a Caramelized Rosemary Latte, and it was incredible. You can tell they put love into their drinks, the latte art was beautiful. I can't wait to come back again! read more
Best coffee and pastries on my Portland trip! Cochinito was firm and not too sweet. Mexican mocha was full of bitter chocolate flavor. Flaky crust of the empanada and good ratio of blueberry cream cheese filling. The glass garage doors were open and there were plenty of cafe tables to enjoy the weather. This is a super cute coffee shop in North Portland! It is light and bright and the staff is friendly. I tried the Mexican mocha and it was delicious! It definitely reminded me of Mexican hot chocolate and had great depth of flavor. read more

Absolutely love the set up. The menu is very versatile and has everything that you may be looking for whether it's a sweeter treat style of drink or a more bitter coffee flavor. I wish the hours opened a bit earlier as I would love to grab a coffee here before or after a yoga class. I love how big and open the windows are and so many plants all around the store as well makes it so inviting. read more
Had the True Mexican Mocha. It was good and not too sweet. Good balance of cream and coffee flavor. They served it at drinkable temperature, which my tongue appreciated. Live that they offer nondairy milk options for no extra charge. I also had the chocolate concha. The bread was soft and the sugar shell was sweet enough to enjoy it with or without the coffee on the side. Neither item was particular mind blowing, so sticking to four stars, but would come back if I was in the area or prompted by a friend. The service was friendly and welcoming. The environment was loud, but there was some sort of group gathering taking place, so ai wouldn't judge it based on that. Loved all the plants throughout the space. read more
Great coffee and pastries! I love the friendly vibe of this cafe. The flavors are unique. I enjoyed the ube mochi style doughnut. You have to allow plenty of time for parking. I went around 2-3x to find parking. Great place to meet with friends. The staff were friendly and helpful. read more

First stop in Oregon! Such a cute cafe near the airbnb my friends and I were staying at. I don't even like coffee, but I figured I would try something since I was here. The barista recommended that I get the True Mexican Mocha to drink. Surprisingly, it was really good! I honestly would get that again. My friends and I decided to split some of the pastries as well. Out of what we got, I tried the Cookies and Cream Concha and the Vegan Strawberry Concha. Surprisingly, I preferred the vegan concha over the other one because it didn't taste as sweet. read more

I had just got back from visiting the Caribbean and Puerto Rico and had some different flares of coffee so I decided to be adventurous here in Portland and found this spot to try some local Mexican coffee from a quick Google search, and came up with La Perlita, and it did not disappoint ! Normally, I am not a huge fan of mochas but the True Mexican Mocha was exquisite. Per the recommendation from the worker at the POS, we both ordered the True Mexican Mocha, one with whole milk and one with oat milk. The drink was extremely smooth and balanced. I was expecting the typical sweet chocolatey drink with spices but this drink felt elevated. The interior is quite open with some greenery to spruce things up. There was good lighting from the windows, with a few tables to sit and enjoy your drink. read more

I found my new favorite coffee shop!! La Perlita can be found near Interstate and despite the busy roads outside, the cafe keeps a very calming and inviting ambiance. I ordered the café con leche with vanilla bean flavoring and let me just say -- it was amazing. Not only was the latte art very cute but the coffee itself was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed sipping through the foam to find the flavorful (not too strong, not too sweet) vanilla bean coffee. Service was fairly fast and the barista was nice! I was able to get some work done in this super peaceful environment and I will definitely be visiting again soon. read more

This is a pretty cool coffee shop located on a corner off North Interstate Ave. I had their Mexican Mocha, which was pretty good. I would definitely recommend it. The interior was pretty clean and spacious with several seating areas. The person working there was pretty efficient as he was the only one working. read more

Upon arriving, my fiancé and I were greeted by some of the friendliest people. It was our first time there so they answered our questions and made some recommendations. The place felt welcoming and cozy. We ordered the True Mexican Mocha and a concha with sprinkles. The mocha was beautiful and delicious. It had the perfect balance of coffee, spices, and creaminess. The concha was soft and not too sweet. Perfect for a rainy day. read more
