The store online have breached my privacy and security. Owner has canceled my order for Ammo and decided was a good idea to send a single cancellation and list everyone's e-mail address in the "To" section. Now me and everyone else who has their orders canceled have their e-mail address disclosed to the public without our consent. Also on the their stores website you can view the full credit card information including credit card number, CVC number, and expiration date when you edit your account information. So if my account is compromised the assailant has full access to my registered credit card as well. So since you have disclosed my e-mail address to other customers and the public who has canceled orders as well, my account user name is now vulnerable to attack compromising my account and my credit card info. Since a new law is swiftly moving through our state to ban certain rifles, I wanted to get a sense of comfort on the timing so I emailed Paula. She emailed me and we ended up talking on the phone which ultimately made me feel more comfortable as this was also my first gun purchase over the internet. Paula was excellent and kept my updated on the shipping status to her store, the departure date from her store to my FFL, and the arrival time in Renton. Poor customer service, slow shipping, and an antiquated online sale system make for an upset customer which results in reviews such as this. An online purchase made over 2 weeks ago, finally arrived today, but to my billing address and not my shipping address. Had I not contacted them for an update, I never would have known they were shipping it to the wrong address. By the time I found out there was no way to change it. My first issue with them is their antiquated online order system that requires the buyer to send ANOTHER email saying, yes I did buy this. However, the email that states, this uses small print and nothing in the subject about it. The second issue, I paid for 2 Day priority shipping and it was sent 3 day. Why did I pay extra money for priority shipping? The third issue, they have not done anything to make up for the first two issues and I had to be the one to contact them on why it took over a week before it got shipped out. I would give 0 stars if I could. Did not ship my order, does not want to process my refund and threatening a punitive 25% restocking fee. I ordered a gun that was listed a 4 in stock. The order did not ship after 7 business days (they are open every day of the week). Called and spoke with the wife Paula. She agreed on the phone to a full refund. The husband Herb called and said we could do it the "hard way" which would take me 60 days to get my money back and he would charge me a 25% restocking fee. I explained to him that it wasn't restocking as this was a cancellation and it wasn't a special order since it was an in stock item. They are now threatening to "punish" me by making the process take 60 days or more. I can not in good conscious recommend them. Anyone can make a mistake. Purchased a part online for my AR-15 I waited 2 days no confirmation email anything so I called was told the part would ship between 3-4 business days called the following week still hadn't shipped. I was told they'd ship it out the next day still didn't took over another week of calling very other day then a week and a half to ship out and I still didn't receive anything called to get the tracking and tracked it. It had been delivered turns out it was never shipped they didn't even stock the product anymore was told have to wait a week to find one I asked for a refund. After 2 days still nothing had to call back and asked again finally I received it after another day. I purchased a firearm on April 8th. The order confirmation email said that it would ship in 1-2 weeks. At the 2 week mark I emailed to make sure the FFL went through, and to see if they had a projected ship date. They wrote me and said they told me my order was cancelled on 12 April. I never received any communication with that information. Terrible communication, and no ownership of their mistakes. Poor service, poor company, and I would never recommend anyone to shop here. read more

I had a bad experience after cancelling an order. I got charged a 5% fee even though I tried to cancel the order very soon after ordering and recognizing that I had made a mistake. Though I am not really happy with the charge, and I really feel that this is not a good customer strategy, I must admit that the cancellation and return policies are clearly shown on their site, and are not as much as some other sites. I'm used to sites like Amazon.com, where I really can't make a mistake and not be fully refunded. Still, Herb took the time to show me this even after I had my "rant" party. I'd do business with Herb again in the future. I'd just be more certain next time that I was ordering what I really wanted. Their prices are very good. Prices are fair however they have the absolute worst customer service. I have now purchased from them 3 time and will never do so again. The first two times they called days after my items arrive. The last time I kept trying to get tracking and got told it would be in by the end of the week. Each day I kept calling asking for tracking and each day got blown off. I went there that Friday and the jerk behind the counter shook his head in obvious annoyance. When I told him all he had to do was provide me tracking and he tried say I should have waited for their call. I ordered an "in stock" gun, even emailed to make sure it was "in stock" before placing order. I ordered and then asked when the gun would ship. I was told that their site clearly says "ships in 3-5 business days", ok fair enough, but was then told the gun was being shipped within those days from their "warehouse" (aka the "manufacturer") to their shop, and then to me. So dumb to think I believe these bs. If its their warehouse then save shipping and ship straight to the FFL, guy must have thought I was an idiot. Purchased a pistol from the online on Monday the 28th of November. Item showed "in stock online" Was told Wednesday (after I followed up about the progress) that it was being shipped to their location from a warehouse and would arrive the following day to ship out to my FFL that same day. Come Friday I follow up again and receive no response. Nothing again Saturday or Sunday. I send another email (3 actually) today and finally receive a response that my pistol still has not arrived from their warehouse. However it should at some point today and be fwd'd to my FFL. a little disappointed especially since I spent a good bit of money for this weapon (almost 1,500.00) Had I received a follow up email explaining what was going on or a phone call letting me know my weapon wouldn't make it when they anticipated I wouldn't be upset. The low down. I ordered a handgun and it said ships from warehouse 3-5 business days. Received an email confirming my order. $25.80 for two day shipping. Received a second email witch said ships in 3-10 business days. Also didn't realize it until 2 days later that I had to hit reply & let them know I approved of the charges to start the process! Inquired by email concerning my order status. Was promptly corrected that it had been 6 business days not 8. Their business days are M-F. It had been 6 since I replied to their email. It was shipped to them to be shipped to me. You do receive 2 emails concerning shipping/tracking. Got it in 10 business days but in reality it was the 13th day from placing the order. Everything looked ok so I accepted the transfer. Realized when I went to the range it came with 6 shot cylinders not 9. Course they couldn't help cuz I accepted the firearm. I contacted Heritage and was told it was the right handgun but the wrong cylinders. Told me not to shoot it cuz it could cause injury. Glad I decided not to shoot it after my discovery at the Range. Heritage stood behind their product and agreed to send me the right cylinders. Looking back on it the handgun had the two tags removed from the trigger guard and the plastic cover removed from the cylinder in the handgun. Makes me wonder if someone switched out the cylinders? Upside... They had a hard to get handgun for the lowest price. Ordered it once before but got a phone call the following day saying a shipper showed availability but had none and they are no longer using them. Also explained my credit card would not be charged. I used their automated system and was notified when it was in stock. Justin responded quickly to inquiries. The person who took the order never told her they have to wait for the item to ship to them (3-5 days) and then ship it out. When my wife called for a refund they stated our website states 25% restock fee. BS - I looked at the home page where their 800# is, it's not there. They took down my info, and said they would contact their distributors to see if one could be procured. No later than 30 minutes goes by and I get a call back. ***WARNING***. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! SAVE YOUR TIME AND BUY SOMEWHERE ELSE. This transaction was headache from the start. I had to arrange shipment to a local FFL. I provided Anacortes with a local FFL's contact information, had the FFL fax and e-mail their information and Anacortes still could not figure out how to arrange the shipment. The Local FFL warned me that this company was not going to be easy to work with and stated that they need to get their head out their asses. I still gave Anacortes the benefit of the doubt and continued with my order days after originally placing it. Days after placing my order for an "in stock" firearm, it is delivered to Anacortes from some warehouse, so that they could ship it to me where I received it a week later The firearm is delivered to the local FFL, broken into two pieces. The stock was busted off and the trigger was snapped. Anacortes insisted this was shipping damage, but the packaging was not that bad looking and it was double boxed. I immediately contacted Anacortes and starting dealing with Paula. Paula said that she would secure a replacement and start a claim with ups and the firearm manufacture. I found it odd that you would immediately do a claim with the firearm manufacture when claiming it was damaged in shipping. I half ass wondered if they knew it was broke when they shipped but I cannot say for sure. Paula then advised me that Anacortes would not be able to ship a replacement gun they had in stock until after the UPS / Manufacture claim was complete. . I requested that Paula send the replacement while she process the claim twice over another two week period. The customer should not have to wait for a company to process a shipping claim before they send a replacement when it is evident that the customer never received the product in proper condition. Paula's reply was that not waiting for the claim to complete first was against FFL regulations., and her husband even felt the need to send a nasty e-mail stating how he is her husband and if I did not like how she was handling the process I could just get a refund and on and on and on.... ( WOW! Great example of how to handle a business situation....have your husband review your customer records and send offensive e-mails.) At this point I demanded a refund. I was not willing to wait on a company to complete their internal procedures before providing me with a replacement, all while blaming their delay on FFL regulations that they could not even provide more information on.. Even after requesting an electronic refund it took three days for them to finally process it. To top off the experience, I ended up owing the local FFL a $65.00 FFL fee for the arrangement, and ended up not getting the firearm I was attempting to purchase. Anacortes held my money for close to 1 month before refunding me for a firearm that was damaged prior to me receiving it, and their lack of professionalism ended up costing me money. They will probably respond with something saying how wrong I am but that is to be expected from this very unprofessional business. Anyways long story short ***WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! I prefer to keep business in my community when I can. I decided to shop locally and stopped at the Anacortes Gun Shop. I tried to purchase on two separate occasions. I could have gotten better help if I said I was with the Tea Party asking the IRS for help! Unfortunately I think the owner was who I spoke to as he was very abrupt and helping was not his thing. The first attempt was to purchase some magazines for my Beretta, The old guy said they didn't have any and didn't offer any help and walked back to his office. I walked out of the shop. On the second attempt I was looking to purchase a Glock 19, they had none and was not interested in helping me with when they would be available, waiting list, nothing, simply said no and turned his back and walked away. I left shaking my head. I can excuse most if there a bunch of people to help and they are short handed but 2 times? I will not go back again. BTW, I went to the one ACE Hardware in the general area that handles firearms and purchased from them. Very knowledgeable and was willing to answer my questions. I also purchased a .45 Glock from Cabelas and it could not have been better, answered my questions, put my name on the waiting list, great followup, called me when it came in, either store will get my future business but Not Anacortes Gun Shop. read more

Well, first of all the lady in the chat system said it was a Rem 700 tactical (police) model 20" barrel. Something wasn't right about that because I didn't think they offered Police models in a 20" barrel. So I called to clarify, then I get this unprofessional rep. Guy on the phone I spoke to was a completely unprofessional. I called to clarify the model of the firearm before I drove 2 hrs to pick it up. Picked up the phone and says, "what do you want to tell ME about MY gun?" Then proceeded to be even more rude after he admitted he was incorrect. I was checking out some firearms through the case as I am looking to purchase a pistol. But no one offered to show me anything or come up to the counter. Pretty shitty customer service if you ask me. To my surprise several days later on 3-11-16 I was up before 06:00 and got an email that came in at 02:05 (which I thought was a bit odd so early) but nevertheless, I was pleased to find out or so I thought, that the gun I wanted was available to me. I logged into my acct. attempted to place the order in my cart and got, item was not available. After a couple attempts, I gave up and emailed them asking, what is going on ? Not getting a reply, I called and spoke to Juan asking what's up with the order ? He replied, first come, first served.. We exchanged some words and I let him know my thoughts on that type of business practice which I found to be very deceptive. He replies, "what do you want me to do about it ? " I said, take my order like others do and honor it. Just a waste of breath to him. I had no knowledge of this type of "ordering system". Before writing this review, I tried to find that policy in their website to no avail. Had I known it was the only way to get the gun I wanted, I would have looked elsewhere. Also, before writing this review, I decided to look on line for negative complaints which to my surprise, there are plenty of. I thought if, "I order a gun" they would let me know when it is in so that "I could purchase it" like I have done with old and very well known local gun shop that unfortunately, no longer sells firearms where I have spent many thousands of dollars on guns and related items over the years. I have purchased items from A.G.S. & Tele/Optics in the recent past and felt good about being a customer supporting a locally owned family business source for my guns and accessories since my previous one sadly no longer sells firearms. I received their Newsletter via email on Nov. 23 with a Black Friday offer of Ed Brown Alpha models with a 40% discount, Newsletter pricing only. I called on Wed. the 23 and was informed that this offer didn't start till 9 a.m. Pacific time Friday the 25th. I called Friday at 8.55 a.m. Pacific time and Patrick answered the phone. I let him know I wanted to purchase the Ed Brown Alpha Carry G4 and mentioned the Black Friday Offer. He said he wasn't aware of the offer and put me on hold. He then came back on the phone to tell me the Paula handles the Ed Brown purchases and will call me right back. After waiting an hour, I called back and Patrick told me Paula was busy with a customer concerning a Silencer and would call me right back. After another hour went by I called again and Patrick tells me Paula is still checking with Ed Brown on availability of their Alpha guns. I asked to speak with John Everet and he reiterated that Paul was handling these orders and would call me as soon as she could. I was also guaranteed my spot as the first caller so as not to miss out on this Black Friday Offer. Still not hearing from Paula later in the afternoon I called again. This time I was told they sold out and I missed my opportunity to purchase the discounted Ed Brown. I asked to speak to management and the owner got on the phone and reiterated I missed out due to quick sales. When I explained my situation and challenged him on this sale being bogus he just said tough end of conversation and hung up. Here's what one of their employee's told me after the fact. I won't give his name because my intent is not to get him fired. They made a mistake on the the Newsletter Offer. The 40% discount wouldn't leave any room for a profit. But instead of just explaining and altering their offer they kept me hanging on all day and the owner lied his way through it. How can anyone do business with such poor ethics.... In purchasing firearms and firearm related items ever since such things were available on the internet, this store, by far, is the absolute worst! They literally will take your money and keep it for weeks, WHEN THE ITEM IS IN STOCK, and then consider shipping whenever they feel like it. I had to go through all of the trouble to contact my credit card company to dispute my charges there since they still haven't seen fit to ship what I bought and paid for nearly 3 weeks ago! When contacted, they very strongly have the "we could not possibly care less" attitude towards doing the right thing or actually shipping in somewhat of a reasonable timeframe. I would avoid this place like the plague unless you are ordering something for the next season and you don't mind waiting a month or more to get your item AFTER you have paid for it. Been in this store only two times about a year ago and that was one two many. first time was to browse. thought their telescopes were astronomically expensive. were talking in the neighborhood of $3000 or more. nothing for the amateur astronomer looking to spend under $1000. least not at the time i was in their store. as for the guns they really didnt carry much under $400-500. id say Cabelas has a better and cheaper selection of new and used guns. my primary reason for the second visit was to sell them a gun for whatever amount as a means of giving myself a discount on a better one. i brought the gun to them in the box with all original paper work including receipts. being new to the gun world and this was my first gun i didnt know if it would be best to show them the receipts. now i know better. after talking to this tall older guy for a moment he took the box and all to the back and out of sight for whatever reason. at this point i have no idea who this guy was or what he was doing with my gun. he seemed like he must have been the manager or owner. after around 5-10min he comes back out with the box and proceeds to telling me the place that originally sold me the gun "wasn't nice to me". i ask him what he means by that and he clarifies telling me i over paid for my gun and that he can get that same gun through his broker for way less and brand new. and im thinking judging by these prices this place will still mark it up to what i paid for it. so i ask him how much he would give me for it or towards another gun their selling and he says hes not interested, doesn't want to buy it. by now im feeling very ticked off, and very offended. you never tell a customer they over paid and basically they arent a savvy shopper. that is incredibly rude. so i look down at the box and realize all my paperwork is gone and im thinking this dude couldnt even hand me back my property the way i handed it to him and has to insult me too. i ask him were the rest of my stuff is, he goes to retrieve it, and i left. never to return. i still have this first gun and purchased my second gun at Cabelas. i plan to see if Cabelas would be interested in my first gun the Anacortes gun shop turned down. there is no way i would ever visit the Anacortes gun shop again. read more

I went to the gun shop on the way home today from visiting Anacortes. They have a pretty decent selection of bird feeders, telescopes and guns for a small mom and pop store. I waited patiently and by the time a clerk asked me if I had been helped, it was pretty apparent that I was in the way of him doing something truly important. So obvious in fact that my wife said that if I really wanted the gun, buy it from somebody that wants your business. Her observation summed up my feelings exactly. They gave me the most unwelcome feeling I can remember in any store we have visited. They weren't overtly rude and didnt yell or anything, but you just got that feeling that we were really bothering them. Maybe they were all having a bad day, maybe they are normally a bunch of great people, but I'll never know for sure, because Im not going back. Horrible service. Don't buy from Anacortes. The AREX pistol I purchased functions as intended. The magazines do not. My pistol came with 2 magazines, as they all do, however 1 didn't lock into the magazine well. The cutouts on this magazine are in the incorrect location and will not lock the magazine into the magazine well. Everything else on the magazine is identical to the one that works with the pistol (dimensions, markings, etc.). I called Anacortes and they told me to contact the importer, FIME Group in Las Vegas. FIME Group, who brings the guns in from Slovenia, says the pistol comes with 2 magazines. They also state that they don't open the gun cases so they wouldn't have switched the magazine accidentally. As they instructed, I sent the bad magazine to them and they promptly returned the magazine with a letter stating the magazine wasn't a FIME product, even though they only import 1 other pistol with a 15 round magazine, the Zastava EZ9, which has a completely different magazine. They blamed the distributor (RSR) or the gun shop (Anacortes) and said that one of them might have switched the magazines. I then contacted the distributor, RSR Group, who said they also don't remove magazines from cases and wouldn't have switched it. Finally, I contacted Anacortes for the second time, relaying all of this information. The salesman was a standup guy and took time to look into the issue. He verified with the importer, FIME Group, that the pistol is shipped with 2 magazines. The final response came from the owner of Anacortes, Herb, who wouldn't do anything because his salesman contacted RSR and they told him the pistol only comes with 1 magazine, which contradicts what the importer FIME says. Herb then said that maybe RSR opens the cases and takes one magazine out to sell separately. RSR said they do not do this. The importer, FIME, says the pistol ships with 2 magazines. The distributor, RSR, says they don't switch or remove magazines from cases, but the pistol only comes with 1 magazine. A simple search online shows that the pistol comes with 2 magazines from every seller. Still, Herb chooses to go with information that is clearly false so he doesn't have to figure out how to send me a correct magazine and take care of his customer. Terrible customer service. Judging by the responses Herb leaves on Yelp to reviews he doesn't like, it'll be interesting to see how he tries to disparage another customer here. Don't buy a thing from this company. read more

I went to order a rifle from their website and I was $150 cheaper than all the competitors. So I call them because I don't want to deal with the troubles if it is wrong, and they tell me that it is the correct price. Kind of prideful that their prices were low. I did the honest thing and called to make sure that the price was correct on their end. I go to order the gun and I had a question so I called back (2 hours after I had previously called) and they say 'I think there is a mix up with the warehouse and I don't know if I can get the rifle or not but go ahead and order it'. No way. Then I had to call back to see if they could get the rifle! THIS IS THE THIRD TIME I CALLED! And low and behold they can NOT get the rifle for that price and they won't honor the price they had listed on their website. They had this rifle listed all over the web, even gunbroker. They will not honor their price. VERY VERY bad business and I will never order from this company because if they don't honor the prices that their website says, and their employer verified it was the correct price, then I hate to see what they will actually stand behind.
