Exactly what I imagine Tex Mex to be, delicious Americanized Mexican cuisine. Visited this place with a group of friends, because well when in Rome or should I say when in Texas... The group ordered the Guacamole en Mocajete, which was freshly made at the table. They have a cart dedicated to making guacamole, I guess it's pretty popular. The employee rolls out the cart with all the fresh ingredients and gets to work making our guacamole! We split this appetizer between the five of us, though I love guacamole and definitely would've put in two orders instead of one next time. For an entrée, I had the Cowboy which was definitely enough for two people. The food was way too delicious, and I polished the whole thing down myself. My favorite item on the plate being the brisket taco. Really solid tex mex restaurant. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely come back when I am in the area. read more

I tried to come here once before, but I wasn't successful. I came just after 1pm on a Wednesday and stood at the empty host stand for 7 minutes before an employee made eye contact with me. I was told that I could be seated, but it would be about 30 minutes on the food. I had an appointment to get to, so I had to leave. By the size of the crowd, they certainly seemed popular! I was passing by Thursday about 3:30pm and remembered seeing some recent reviews and that I still hadn't eaten here. Since I didn't have a chance to eat lunch, I decided to stop in. This time there were only a few people at the bar and a couple of tables were occupied. This time someone came to the host stand almost immediately and seated me as soon as they asked if I wanted to dine inside or on the patio. No brainer for me, it's June in Texas, give me that air conditioned booth! :) Service was adequate, the young woman who helped me was polite and checked on me often. I went with my standby, sweet tea. It wasn't very sweet, so next time I would take a look at the menu to see what else they offer. The complimentary chips and salsa arrived within a minute of receiving a menu and the chip bowl was overflowing with a generous portion. They had a good crunch, but needed salt- no worries there is salt at the table! The salsa was fine and it had a little heat to it. I always appreciate complimentary chips and salsa. I realized that I had arrived in the sweet spot where they were still offering their weekday lunch specials (they offer until 4pm) and also offering happy hour specials (weekdays 3-6pm). Nice! I ordered the #5 lunch special- a cheese enchilada, beef taco, rice and beans. I glanced at the rest of the menu and lunch specials were definitely the best deal at only $8.45. Also, it's not on the menu as a single item, but you can order one sopapilla for $1.29. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and was a pretty good meal overall. The cheese enchilada was okay, but something tasted odd about the tortilla, almost like it was overcooked. The cheese and the sauce was fine though. The rice and beans were seasoned well and the portion was fair for a lunch special. The rice was a tad dry, but still enjoyable. The veggies were on the side for the taco and they were warm because they were served on a hot plate. I wish they had served them in a separate dish, I like my veggies cool and fresh instead of warm and soggy. That taco shell was awesome! It tasted freshly made and had the best crunch and flavor! The beef was seasoned perfectly and so tasty! When eating Tex-Mex I rarely crave a crispy taco, but this taco was excellent and very craveable. To me, it made up for the weird tasting enchilada. I thought it was a little strange that the sopapilla was served with pre packaged butter, honey and a spoon. But who am I kidding, I ate it anyway! It was quite tasty and was a sweet ending to my meal. Overall, I see some highlights in this place. I would probably return at lunch time a couple more times to decide if I like other items on their menu before bringing someone. However, it was a solid lunch that hit the spot and I can easily recommend them for that. read more

This is the place for Sangria. If you're lucky enough to get here without a wait, have a seat on the comfy patio or the long bar! The bar is the place to get excellent service every time. It can also get packed during peak hours. The food: The quality of Anamia's food is great, each time it seems fresh and freshly prepared. It's quality tex-mex. The chips are above average, moderately thick and crunchy, strong enough to handle guacamole. The salsa is a bright red, blended salsa, with a consistent texture (not a chunky salsa). The tortilla soup is brothy and satisfying, full of chunks of chicken, cheese, avocado, and crunchy tortilla strips. The drinks: No fountain drinks here, so if you order a Dr Pepper, you get a can - an expensive can of soda. My recommendation is to go ahead and splurge on their Sangria; it's the best in the area. The top shelf margaritas are good, too. The atmosphere: Good both for a casual lunch, or an intimate date night. The service: most of the time it is top-notch for the restaurant caliber. read more

Has good food but check your take out orders. Have been left hanging without any tortilla's for my fajitas. Called the manager and he offered us $2 off next time lol. The food used to be better and was hot when it came to the table but sometimes it is not hot nowadays . Ambiance is good. Went here on 11/29/14 for lunch with Brian P. There was no wait whatsoever and our food came out extremely fast. While the place looks great and the service is fine, I didn't like most of my food. I ordered the Cha Cha Platter ($8.49) and I gave Brian 2 out of 3 of my items. The chicken and spinach enchilada was tasty but that's it. Taco that came with my meal is simply ground beef with lettuce and tomato and cheese, but no spice flavor. We ordered chili con queso and I found it to be pretty enjoyable. Chips were nice and crispy. I had a bite of Brian's brisket taco from his Cowboy Platter and it was delicious. I'd definitely order one of those if I returned. Bathrooms were very clean and fancy. This was seriously the BEST guacamole I have ever had in my life. We ordered table side guacamole. The lady came, asked us if we wanted it mild, medium or spicy. We chose medium, just in case, and it was perfect. I could not get enough of it. We also ordered and split the full order of the spinach and mushroom quesadilla. Divine. fresh made tortillas, perfect combination of flavors with mushrooms, cheese and spinach. I can say that, the full order was too much with the large order of table side guac. We could only eat two each of the slices of quesadilla. So, depending on your appetite, you might be safe to order just the half order when getting a large guacamole made table side. No waiter, only a couple random visits to my table by different employees, and those were about 10 minutes apart each. Management if you see this, review your cameras from 3:00-3:00 today, everything to follow can be verified. Steak in my fajitas was too tough to eat, left most on plate. The portion size was small considering the price. My drink sat empty without an offer to replace or refill the entire meal. Cons- issue with vegetarian order I tried to place the online order, but it would not allow a vegetarian chimichanga. I placed the order by phone for a vegetarian chimi, vegetarian quesadilla, and the Anamia's sampler platter for our boys who aren't vegetarian. When a man brought out the credit card bill, I thought it was a little higher but it wasn't showing the breakdown so I signed and waited for the order. When it was brought he confirmed the contents, and I thought I heard him say beef but I asked him to confirm it was vegetarian chimi and quesadilla, and he said yes. I drove back home and when my family was settling in to eat we realized the chimi had beef and the receipt stapled to bag showed I was charged extra for fajita beef. I called and spoke to the manager. Drove back and they gave me the correct chimi, and an extra bag of chips and salsa. The manager apologized, and said he would credit our card for the upcharge on the beef. Since the food was tasty and the manager was fantastic handling the mixup, I'm giving it four stars. read more

This was my second experience coming here. First time I got simple nachos. This time I got 2 burritos refried beans and rice. So amazing! Portion sizes were great. Service - I have always received excellent friendly service here. Food - the food is only average. The salsa is from a can. The chips not made in house. The queso also out of a can. The drinks way over priced. Enchiladas were dry and chewy. Carne asada was chewy to the point of not being able to finish. I go here when I am too lazy to drive to the other side of town. With new options on the horizon just down the street, I will probably come even less often. read more

The food is always amazing!! The portions are large. My husband and I usually share a dish. We get the fajitas picante. I would recommend everyone to try it if you like queso. It's a spicy dish. The service is always fantastic. The only complaint I have is that the hot sauce isn't consistent. Sometimes it's too spicy & other times it's perfect. Chips are on the thick/crispy side. I prefer the thin ones. My daughter loves the chicken strips and fries. It's one of her favorites. Food was alright. It was a Tuesday night, and my partner wanted a Tex-Mex dinner for her birthday. The hostess sat my partner and I in the corner near the server's station. We are both young and were dressed casually, so it felt like we were being ignored because we probably didn't have money or were cheap. Having been a server for years, this really frustrated me along with the overall lack of service. It took fifteen minutes to place our orders, our server never introduced himself or said anything beyond "What do you want to drink? What will you be having (for entrees)?" Our glasses sat empty for fifteen minutes despite auxiliary staff walking by our table multiple times. The food itself was fine, nothing special. AMAZING. 5 stars every time. First things first: if you're looking for appetizers & drinks with the girls, THIS is the place. The tableside guacamole is to die for. Chips and salsa are delicious, by far one of my favorite salsas! The margaritas are perfectly sweet and STRONG! The queso and ceviche are also in my top 5 appetizers here. All the entrees I have tried have always been great, too. I love the Nachos Tejanos and the Cowboy tex mex platter. Leaning more towards authentic Mexican cuisine with original yet pleasing combination of dishes Anamia's is one I would consider a hidden gem of the Dallas scene. Their plates are generous and their Tex-mex options are not smothered in sauces but rather well balanced. This is one of my daughters favorite chains. 4/5 Mexican dinner plate- beef enchilada with pork tamale, beef taco and rice/beans. Enchilada sauce was Smokey and tart. Tamale was moist and savory. Taco was basic ground beef. 4/5 wife had beef fajitas. Beef was tender. Tortillas were fresh made and very fresh. Side car of cheese, lettuce and pico. 4/5 daughters beef enchiladas. She loved the Smokey zip of the gravy on top. 4/5 extra salsa. Not to chunky but more spicy than most chains. I'm not a big sweet salsa guy. Deep red and great balance of garlic and onions that we love. Nothing fancy but better than most. 4/5 son in law had same thing. He loved it. Nothing real special or unique just consistent. 5/5 queso and chips. Daughter loves their corn chips. Crispy but firm. 4/5 guac - large to share. Fresh, well spiced and just plain good. Anamia's is our go-to Tex Mex restaurant. We enjoy the food, drinks, and the patio. My husband's favorite is the Tacos a la Mexicana (brisket tacos). We are regulars, and are often waited on by Andrea Victoria, who remembers our usual order and is always cheerful and attentive. She is often answering the phone for call-in orders as well as waiting tables, but her service never suffers. Amado also waits on us frequently and he is very warm and friendly. This place gets busy, but our food always comes out fast and is delicious! I'm looking forward to our next visit! read more

Ok I hate to do this because I love this place out of ALL the Mexican places in Flower Mound. I took my mom to eat there at 3p ( after her doctors appointment- thought it'd be a good treat). We ordered the lunch beef fajita plate. Just one as she doesn't eat much and I do not eat a lot either. Food was great. What wasn't great and Whig the low score is totally because of our waitress. Seemed she did not want yo ve there. Very unhappy and we never saw her after the food was served. I wanted tea but could not catch her eye .. well because she was non existent; not on the floor, not anywhere. It took 30 min after we finished our meal before she showed up and waited on the other one table she had. She only had 2 tables. Then instead of coming yo our table she went yo the kitchen for the other table ( apparently she can only do one thing at a time). Finally came to our table. Did not offer any additional drinks. Just said let her know when I wanted the check. She started to walk off and I had to yell for her to come back that I was ready to pay. Check brought and she just left without picking it up with my credit card. I then had to wait another 10min for her to come collect do we could sign the CC and leave. I wanted dessert but was willing to wait another 30 for it I usually tip 20-25% but not this time 15% was all I gave and I think that was too generous. Next time I'm speaking to a manager. I'll tell management her name as I'm chalking this Up to being one bad day for her. read more

I've been coming to this Anamia's location since I was 9 years old and it's still one of my favorite Tex mex spots. And what's even better now is that I can drink and the drinks make me love this place even more! They have an amazing top shelf margarita that after 2 you are way too giggly and the best sangria!!! It literally taste like juice ...and y'all....this girl loves some juice! What makes the visit the best though is that the staff at this location is so friendly. And it's not the fake friendly that you get when someone just wants a good tip. They are personable and seem to actually like their job! Maybe I've been coming here for so long I'm just extremely comfortable and y'all way too much but I always have a great experience when I come to dine with family or just meet up for happy hour with a friend. Their menu has grown recently too and they have a good selection of things to order from. Hmm...do they still have brunch? I need to find out because then I'd live here. We came in on Saturday night for a family birthday. It was so cold that we asked them to please turn the air down. Supposedly they did. Our teeth were chattering so bad that we could barely eat. When you come for Mexican you enjoy margaritas it's hard to drink several margaritas when you are freezing. Our cheese dip was hot when it came out and within about 10 minutes it was congealed cold. The food that came out some plates were hot some plates were warm but before we could even enjoy 2 to 3 bites they were cold. The waitress was very nice and did her very best to help us to have a good meal but it was very difficult. I don't usually come to a Anamias because I feel that there are better Mexican food restaurants in the area that I prefer. I like to go to places where there are homemade tortillas. I tried my usual Mexican fare, crispy beef taco, tamale, chicken enchilada rice and beans. All were very good. Meat on the taco was kind of saucy and the lettuce had dressing (not a fan), tamale was a good mix of meat and masa, chicken enchilada had a good quantity of meat. I had quest on top, more like cheese sauce. Retried beans and rice were texmexy. All in all, I would come to FM location again, and request that they open a store in or around Fort Worth.
