Arrived around 4:00 for an early dinner. Waiter was nice but after it took 10 min to take drink order, after that I decided to time how long it would take to get our food. 46 min later we received food. But only part of our food. Two dishes were supposedly lost by the kitchen according to the waiter. Unfortunately other areas in the restaurant were just as neglected, chips on the floor and paper towels everywhere in bathroom. I went with my friend and her niece and it was very nice and clean in the restaurant. I had a top shelf margarita tonight and it was so good. For dinner I had the enchiladas stuffed with mushrooms on the vegetarian menu. They were very good as well. My friend's niece swears by the quesadillas!! The service was very good as well the kept the chips coming. Speaking of the chips these are probably one of my favorites and the salsa was good as well. I was yesterday years old when I learned about the secret that Mattito's had been keeping for who knows how long. But, now that I'm aware, I'll happily spread the word. What I'm talking about is their Sunday brunch buffet. Not only is it AYCE, it comes with 2 mimosas as well for just under $26 per person. Some of the buffet items include, chicken and beef chili rellenos, 2 different types of rice and beans, flautas, tamales, chicken and cheese enchiladas, waffles, fried chicken, bacon, migas, omelets, street tacos...the list goes on. There is even a dessert station complete with a chocolate fountain to make those sweets even sweeter. It's clear that this is not a situation where quantity is prioritized over quality like a lot of other buffets. Every dish was well prepared and tasted fantastic. I also want to commend the staff for keeping the containers topped up with hot fresh food the entire time. As much as I wanted to try a little bit of everything, my stomach was not on board with this plan. There was simply too much to get through in a single visit. That's ok though, it just gives me another reason to return. read more

Came back for more! This restaurant is so great. The service is always good and the food is good too! I tried the tres tacos - in my option the brisket taco was best. The pork taco was very good too (very sweet and juicy), and the fish taco was very fresh. As a fish taco lover, I wouldn't necessarily order this again, but I would definitely order a brisket taco as an à la carte with the enchiladas. read more

We have been here several times and not been disappointed at all. The ambiance is friendly and welcoming-- it's warm and inviting. Each time we go, the service is consistent and very attentive. Everything come out of the kitchen quickly and looks appealing. We love the queso with green chiles. And the salsa is the blended type with great flavor and just a little bit of heat. My wife and I share the combo fajitas and it's plenty for us. Well seasoned with lots of grilled onions and peppers. This is a great local restaurant and definitely a must try. Five stars. read more

And, the pollo con salsa de maiz was fabulous. House marg was so so- I'd pay the $1.05 more for the upgrade. Rarely one for dessert but had the churros - wow! Cinnamon coated with a Dulce de leche filling served with vanilla ice cream. The churros had the perfect - only slightly crunchy - outside and soft center. So glad we sprang for them! (Oops! Four of us had a really great dinner here this week. The food is always good, but we hadn't been here in a year because of bad service on the last visit. This time the service was exceptional. The food was very hot when it came out. Our drinks and chips were refilled regularly. The name on our receipt said Sabrina was the server. She was really great. We used to go Mattitos when it was on Highway 35. Enjoyed it then. First time at this new location. Don't go here!! Met another couple for dinner at 7pm tonight. Sat in a booth immediately and thought 'great - it's gonna be a good night!' A nice gentleman who didn't speak English brought hot sauce and chips to table right away - another good sign, right? Then waited over 20 minutes for someone to approach the table, ask about drinks, maybe an appetizer...... but no. No one came over for anything. Bartender and others standing around laughing and talking. No one looked our way or came over -- for over 20 minutes. So we made a choice that paying customers can do and got up and left to dine at another neighboring restaurant. Where, by the way, we got a great meal with fantastic service. Sad that no one even noticed our exit or said anything to us as we left. Make a note that the ladies room was a bit messy, there was no soap (a bit early for a Thursday night) and there were towels on the floor and counter. Let's not go back there. read more

This is one of the best kept secrets for Mexican Food in Denton County. Service and food are exceptional and bar drinks are generous and quality tequila is on hand. My favorite is the pollo y mole with rice, beans and a cold cerveza. Chips are great with their own salsa formula which is not too spicy or hot to the palate. The price is favorable as well. Mattito's: Where the Gratuity Is Hidden and the Integrity Is Missing Mattito's in Flower Mound just showed me exactly how not to run a restaurant. On Mother's Day, no less, they quietly slapped an automatic gratuity on the bill AFTER charging my card--with zero heads-up from the server, no mention on the check, and no signage anywhere. To top it off, our server had no problem pocketing a 20% cash tip on top of the hidden gratuity, knowing full well it had already been included. That's not just bad service--it's straight-up theft disguised as hospitality. On a busy day like Mother's Day, I completely understand adding gratuity, but with this gross negligence, I will be filing a complaint with the Texas Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. Shame on this place for pulling a fast one on families out celebrating the most important women in their lives. read more

Never seems to disappoint. Food is solid. Margaritas are done well. Favorite dish that has a little Fajita meat (which is always spot on) without damaging the wallet is the "Texas Enchiladas". I had a wonderful experience at Mattito's last night! I recommend if going on a Friday or Saturday make a reservation. My meal, Quesadilla with fajita Chicken and l add spinich. The quesadilla was quite fluffy with Chicken and it was very taste! My server Gabby was on point! Surprisingly, I had never tried out Mattito's despite good crowds and what looks like a nice place. We stopped in for lunch and it was a fun time! Had a combo plate that included two different enchiladas, a Tamale, and a Crispy Taco. Overall it was excellent, the only slight disappointment was that the taco shell was not as crisp and delicious as their awesome chips were. We also tried the Tortilla soup and it had great flavor and I would definitely get again. Service was great and quite friendly and the restaurant was clean and inviting. We always have loved mattito's. We went for brunch buffet in New Year's Day 2026. Everything was dry, very little seasoning. We were there for an hour no food was turned over just left in its container with burners on. Waffles were like thick cardboard. Even if the food was fresh it still wouldn't have beeen good. We've had better experiences at ponchos. The check for 2 brunches 2 drinks and queso was 75 dollars. We can order two amazing carbs asadas at uncle Julie's. We never got a visit from the manager nor did the server ask if everything was ok. This was so disappointing because we have had good experiences in the Dallas location but it's been a while. I truly enjoy Mattito's - I was happy to hear it was moving closer to home. While I wouldn't say it's "authentic" as so many people seek out (but don't actually want), I would say the quality is there. I love the fresh options on the menu! The Pollo con Salsa de Maize is delicious and doesn't leave you miserably full (unless you eat entirely too much chips and salsa!). The Lite Fajitas are veggie-aplenty! Absolutely delightful and fresh. The blue margarita (Rumbarita) is not my thing, but some may love it. It tasted a bit like what I imagine rubbing alcohol may taste like... but it could have been an off day ... because, regardless, it's so popular?! Their other drinks are great! And for those who don't drink alcohol, the Dr Pepper is great :) I don't like the way it's oriented on the lot with parking around back, but if I'm honest, who doesn't need a bit of a walk after filling themselves with some delicious Tex-Mex? Started off with Top Shelf Margarita on the rocks. Nice that it used reposado tequila which is not usual in most restaurants. My husband had the blue Rumbarita. They have a limit of two for good reason as it includes everclear. On to guacamole for the appetizer. It was okay but they should invest in table side for better quality. Then I had the Green Chili Shrimp Tacos. Very fresh with the right amount of kick from the poblano peppers. The rice was unexpected white rice instead the "Mexican rice" that others serve. Very nice with a butter flavor. It was served with black beans. My husband had the Baja Shrimp. Bacon wrapped and fried with Monterey Jack cheese. Very juicy 6 large jumbo shrimp.
