Super yummy aloo naan and garlic Naan!

Such a wonderful restaurant. I stumbled on this restaurant when I took ceramic classes at the near by studio and I am so glad I did. This is a total family style restaurant and you'll need to grab your own plates, napkins, silverware, water and cups but that just adds to the overall family feel. They offer Free Chai tea with dine in meals which is pretty amazing! The food is also really tasty and is the best deal in town, our family of five can enjoy a wonderful meal and it doesn't break the bank, how they keep their prices so low is beyond me because they do not skimp on quality or quantity it's pretty amazing! Try this place you won't be disappointed!

This is hands down my favorite Indian restaurant--not just in the Concord area, but arguably anywhere. Last night, we ordered takeout and got Garlic Naan, Chicken Tikka Masala, Bhindi Masala, Mixed Vegetable Korma, Aloo Gobi, and Palak Paneer. The standout was definitely the Chicken Tikka Masala--it was absolutely rich, and flavorful. I also equally loved the Aloo Gobi--the cauliflower and potatoes were cooked perfectly, and the savory spices made the dish shine without needing any meat. Bhindi Masala was another hit for me. I know the "slimy" texture of okra can be off-putting for some, but I didn't mind it at all. The only dish I wasn't too crazy about was the Mixed Vegetable Korma. It felt like a "kitchen sink" mix of veggies, including ones I'm not particularly fond of like bell peppers, peas, and green beans. While the curry flavor itself was decent, it didn't stand out compared to the rest. I'd probably skip that one next time. Overall, though, it was an incredibly satisfying meal. I'll definitely be ordering from this place again.

Definitely in the Top Five of my favorite Bay Area restaurants. Last Friday was the fifth time I've eaten here, and each time the food has been straight fire. I know very little about Pakistani or Indian food, and part of the reason why is most restaurants that serve those cuisines are ridiculously expensive. I have no why their prices are so high. But so often they are prohibitively expensive. At least to me. But somehow Anarkali Concord is able to serve up outstanding dishes at a very reasonable price. The menu items are so attractively priced, one is tempted to try everything on the menu And Lord knows I'm never one to resist temptation. I'm all about trying everything on this menu. And surely I will, visit by visit. This most recent visit we got the Veggie Korma ($10) and Chicken Tikka Masala ($11) like we always do, and tried the Shrimp Biryani ($13) and the Lamb Chops Tandori ($15). We also got some of Anarkali's truly wonderful Garlic Naan and an order of Basmati Rice. What a feast! Every dish was bursting with flavor. The food was so good the conversation we had been engaged in before the food was served slowly died. By the time we were two or three bites in, the table was quiet except for one or another of us muttering some version of "got damn this food is good!" every few minutes. Absolutely impossible to identify a favorite dish, not just because they were uniformly excellent, but also because of how well all our choices worked together. My guess is you could pick any other four dishes and achieve the same result. All the menu items compliment each other. I'm going to test that Idea next time I visit. i'm going to blindfold myself and pick a random item from four different sections of the menu. That's how much I like this restaurant and how confident I am in their recipes. I highly recommend Anarkali Concord! Really delicious Pakistani food at bargain prices. Mikey C says: did I mention the FREE serve-yourself chai? It's so damn good!

Very authentic food. Chicken tikka masala is the best, with garlic naan, the yogurt, mango lassi. What else can you ask for?

With home cooking by a family who comes from Thailand, the food is consistent and always delicious. Don't come here if you're not into authentic Thai cooking with fish sauce as a base. This is a family-run business who are attentive and hardworking and you see it in their service and how they serve their customers. I had ordered the lunch menu of pad see ew before but failed to inform them to make it mild, oh boy did I get a shock, way too spicy. I now know to order anything in mild. I did love their pad see ew but order it in mild. This time I wanted to try their red curry with beef, in mild of course, this too was pretty wonderful. I need to mention they make a great rice even though I ordered plain rice and not their sticky rice. I will certainly need ti try their sticky rice the next time with the curry.

The service was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in, and they made us feel right at home. I ordered the 3-meat combo with the beef tikka, chicken kabob, and beef chapli, and every bite was flavorful, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The beef chapli was especially outstanding! My wife ordered the chicken tikka masala, and it was rich, creamy, and packed with authentic flavor. We also ordered the bolani the eggplant dish, and it was fantastic. The portions were generous, everything tasted fresh, and you can tell they put a lot of care into the food. Great prices, outstanding hospitality, and some of the best kabobs we've had in the area. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend giving this place a try!

What is the point of an appetizer if it's not served before the main dishes? We were very disappointed. Taste wise, bolani was very thin and bland. Barely any potatoes or stuffing. The bread was very thin too. Kunduz Kabab's bolani is top tier, we should've just had dinner there. The Chapli kabob and Karahi chicken were also disappointing, I think the quality has changed perhaps with new management. We also noticed the waitress kept gloves on, the same gloves she would handle payments with, she used to hand us our plates and cutlery. That is very unhygienic and quite frankly appalling. You're spreading germs onto customers' plates. Will not be returning.

I personally think everything needed some salt, but maybe it's meant to be this way. Highlight is most definitely the green sauce (yogurt and chili, not spicy), baklava (sweet sticky on the bottom and flaky crisp on top, not overly sweet), yogurt mint drink (dough). Shami beef and chicken kebab were juicy and not dry. Through a bit of miscommunication.. I was given the yogurt drink instead of the normal side of yogurt cucumber sauce for the meat, and was warned by Ali that some people don't like it since it's a yogurt drink with salt, but honestly it was great and was essentially a yogurt mint sauce I expect from other Mediterranean/Middle Eastern type places but more watery. So admittedly I just took sips of this while taking bites of the kebab and rice and it was pretty much the flavors I was looking for, but an extra step. Beef Mantu was another source of confusion since there are regular and homemade versions (I didn't realize). They made me the homemade version without confirming with me on the phone; no problem. It was filled with lightly seasoned beef and topped with interesting spices. Overall not bad not great, definitely needs sauce / salt. Too light in my opinion. And for $25 I wouldn't get again not worth it. The customer service from Ali was great. Knowing this was my first time he explained everything, offered to charge me less due to the miscommunications (I declined), and gave complimentary side of sauce and baklava as a nice gesture. Good food. I know how to order next time. Extra green sauce or yogurt drink all over.
