Alright- I personally do not like complaining or being difficult. If something gets ordered wrong, I normally just roll with it~ I'm not very picky. But these people made me feel difficult. I had ordered the "grouper filet with rice and beans" (and I was specific.) Instead I was given the Grouper sandwich, which had a VERY small serving of grouper piled under mostly lettuce. No rice or beans on the side. I was hungry, so I very politely told them that the sandwich wasn't what I ordered or expected- They were rude after that, and very adamant on expressing that they DIDN'T plan on helping me out with the miscommunication. I got shut down and they ignored me. So I left~! I just wanted to share my experience here and while I was disappointed, I am now eating a beautiful plate of fish at another establishment down the street. read more

Ana's cafe is the bomb. I went there this morning for breakfast with my dog and we sat outside for an hour. Breakfast was delicious, and their iced coffee was some of the best coffee I've had in Florida. The prices are extremely reasonable - $6 and change for scrambled eggs, toast and potatoes with a coffee. Will be going back tomorrow. Service was also fantastic as well. They brought the food to my table and even brought my dog a bowl of ice. Only thing is seating was limited as they were painting part of the deck and the line can be a bit long as it's a popular place. 5/5 thought, I love me some good breakfast ;) read more

This place is the sh*t! Excuse my language but it's the only way to express how much I love this place. I first ate here two years ago while seeking some breakfast food in spring break that could soak up all the grain trains I had in Duval. The Hangover Breakfast saves lives and is a great deal for how much food you get! The breakfast sandwiches are massive too and served on some food bread. Enjoyed a very tasty Cuban sandwich from Ana's on the Key West Express back to Fort Myers! Our group of four decided to grab something to go before boarding, because the food on that boat is subpar. We were in the mood for one last little piece of Key West and thought a Cuban sandwich would be perfect. Ana's is right around the corner from the butterfly conservatory and only about a mile from the boat dock, so it was a great location for us. It didn't take long for them to prepare the sandwiches, and we all ordered different varieties (some no mayo, some no mustard, etc.) so I appreciated that they marked each sandwich so we could tell them apart. They also loaded the bag with lots of napkins. By the time we ate the sandwiches on the boat they were probably 2 hours old, and even a bit soggy they were very tasty. The bread was nice and fresh and the pork was also savory. We also purchased some gum and drinks, and my only suggestion would be to check the expiration dates - my gum had expired in 2015. This place is a solid choice for a variety of their sandwiches from inside the store. I've had the fiery Cuban and the regular Cuban and they are both great. Today I got the turkey bacon and it also is a solid sandwich. Great little local spot to sit outside and watch the tourists and locals go by. This place is awesome. I would go here in the morning last time we went to key west. It was literally 30' from our room we rented. I had a coffee and breakfast sandwich in the am. The food was reasonably priced and very very good. Not one complaint from me about this place. That Cuban coffee was the perfect start to my morning. Stopped in for a quick bite (we were biking past on our way to the beach.) Small, friendly family operated business. We got the cuban sandwich with jalapenos ($8.50) and a can of cold pineapple soda ($1.25) to split. It was good - not sure if we'll dream about it, but a nice meal and something new we got to try. Only downside was that the bathroom was not very clean or appealing - i mentioned to owners. Great breakfast spot and reasonably priced for Key West. If you're just looking for simple breakfast sandwiches that won't break the bank, this is the place to go. The coffee is also great. Our only complaint was the inconsistency of hours--it says online that it's open Mon-Sat and closed on Sundays but it was closed on the Saturday that we were there as well. This place is a gem! Incredibly good Cuban coffee and sandwiches. The roast pork that's on the sandwiches (and in the pork platter) is absolutely delicious. The portions were decent sized and staff were very friendly. You can also purchase beers at the attached convenience store. Superb food, great place to stop and have a quick bite or sit for a while. The Cuban coffee and the sandwiches are amazing and worth the low price and the minimal wait time. The staff is friendly and you can talk with them while you wait for your food, or after you're finished eating and feel like hanging out.
