    BURRITO.
    Karla B.

We stopped by this spot while visiting Laguna Beach and decided to give it a try for breakfast. My partner ordered the bacon breakfast burrito and thought it was just okay, nothing memorable. I tried a few of the chips that came with it and unfortunately they tasted stale, which was definitely disappointing. For my meal, I ordered the Eggs Benedict (the poached eggs with hollandaise sauce). It was okay overall, but I found it pretty flavorless. The hollandaise sauce didn't add much flavor, and the dish wasn't very memorable. I had to add a lot of ketchup and hot sauce to add flavor... One thing I did appreciate was that the restaurant appears to be family-owned, and I believe it's been in business for over 16 years. It's always nice to support a local business, and the prices were fair for the Laguna Beach area. The location is also a plus. It's within walking distance of the beach, and they offer validated parking with a parking structure located behind the restaurant, which makes visiting much more convenient. Overall, the food was not anything that would make us want to return. Between the stale chips and the lack of flavor in my meal, it felt more like a one-time visit rather than a place we'd seek out again.

    AVOCADO TOAST.
    Sage S.

Parking is street parking only, but had no issues finding a spot. The location is amazing and has a cute little ocean view that makes the whole experience feel extra special. I also loved the decor inside it felt bright & welcoming. Service was fast and friendly throughout the visit. The avocado toast absolutely stood out & was honestly some of the best I've had. Also tried the apple muffin, which was amazing, and the chocolate croissant was delicious as well. Everything felt fresh and well made. Would highly recommend this spot for a coffee, breakfast, or relaxed morning by the ocean. Super reasonable prices too

My friends and I came here for brunch on a Saturday morning. There was a line, but it moved quickly. After ordering, we were given a number to take to our table, and our food was brought out fairly quickly. I ordered the Avocado Toast and added an over-hard egg. It comes on a slice of toasted wheat bread with a good amount of fresh avocado. I prefer a thicker bread. I really enjoyed the sundried tomato garlic spread. The toast is also topped with arugula, feta cheese, olive oil, balsamic glaze, and sesame seeds.

I found the avocado toast to be dry, but I did enjoy the sun dried tomatoes. I also liked my cinnamon, honey, oat milk latte. The service was prompt and atmosphere was pretty and it made for a relaxing setting.

We went here once for breakfast and two additional times for some lattes to-go during our Laguna Beach stay. This place gets busy on weekend mornings so plan to stand in a bit of a line. You order at the counter and there's self seating inside and out on the patio. You can partially see the ocean from some of the patio spots which is nice. There's lots of breakfast options and I like that you can order one or more of the breakfast sides. So you can get a little bit of everything. I had the almond French toast and my husband had the breakfast sandwich. We both shared some bacon, eggs, and breakfast potatoes. Their lattes are pretty tasty, and I would say I'm picky when it comes to iced lattes. They offer a few different special flavors. This is a great little cafe spot that I would be happy to come back to.

Wow.. friendly staff, great atmosphere, and even better food! I absolutely loved coming here and can definitely see myself back here when in Laguna. They have a good amount of seating indoors + outdoors (bonus point, it's pet friendly!) We sat outside and had a great view of the ocean. Like all the other reviews say, you order at the counter and they bring your order to you at whatever table you sit at. Upon arrival, the service was so warm and welcoming. I loved their patience in helping me order and along with checking up on us as we were dining. The food here was amazing! I got the breakfast burrito with no meat, and it was so good. It was a great size, filled with eggs, hash browns, and melted cheese along with a spicy red salsa. We also ordered the tuna melt along with the creme brulee French toast and safe to say.. it was all devoured. This place is a must try!

I ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon and no sour cream. The breakfast burrito was absolutely delicious! The burrito is a pretty decent size and you definitely leave full. The salsa that came with the burrito had a slight kick to it, but wasn't too spicy. You order at the counter first and then they give you a number to place at a table. Service was excellent! The cashier and the server were kind and we received our orders pretty quickly. The cafe had plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. Parking can be difficult to find since it's located on a busy street so you may have to drive around the cafe to look for street parking. Would recommend!

    Toffee nut latte, matcha latte

Further south from the busier downtown of Laguna Beach sits Heidelberg Cafe, an order at the counter, seat yourself type of establishment. For our morning brew, we had the toffee nut latte and a matcha latte. You can order your bevy in three different sizes and we were shocked how large a medium size actually was. We can't imagine how large an actual large would be... that said, both were delicious, earthy, and not overly sweet. For food, we had the Eggs Heidelberg which is their house special eggs Benedict. What's different about their eggs beny from others is their use of French bread instead of English muffins. Generous amount of roasted cherry tomatoes, with jammy poached eggs on top of smoked salmon makes this a relatively light version of eggs Benedict compared to the heavier ones smothered in hollandaise elsewhere. Friendly service to top it all off made visiting a very pleasant experience!

    Cardamom rose tea latte

Friendly service, reasonable prices. Cute small cafe. The cardamom rose tea latte was good. My husband enjoyed his lavender vanilla latte. The Heidelberg eggs were good, but could have been hotter. Potato pancakes were okay. The peach custard tart was good & only $3.65. I'll be back when in the area.

ORDERS: - Eggs Heidelberg - Breakfast Burrito - Creamy Chicken Pasta - Rustic Grilled Steak Sandwich - Strawberry Matcha Latte - Ube Matcha A breakfast by the beach moment! The breakfast burrito was a classic with the salsa dip. They really stuff it with eggs. The eggs heidelberg was yummy and simple if you want a poached egg and smoke salmon style. Their creamy chicken pasta was my favorite! So much flavor and cheesy! The steak sandwich was unique and yummy cause they put an actual piece of steak in it. Their lattes were nice and fresh on a hot summer's day. You order at the counter and find a table then they bring the food to you. It does get super crowded and it's hard to find parking because of the beach. So get there super early or at an off time.

We ordered the breakfast burrito with chorizo add refried beans, it was 10/10! Perfect size to split and nice area out front to sit!

Heidelberg was a solid spot for brunch, and would come back. We came here with a group of 7 on a Friday and had no trouble getting a table. It is order at the counter, and there are an array of options. Service was good, food was great with large portions, and things came out quick. A great option if you don't have a ton of time too!

Meanwhile waiting , got myself familiar with the place and caught the vibe by the window. This is something expected especially by the beach. I got my drink and nice enough to allow me to help myself to sprinkle some cinnamon on my drink. Super cool. Make me feel like I added my own twist to the drink. Who doesn't like to feel engaged. The drink was good. Drink was smooth especially with the coconut and it paired well not to over powering not to sweet. It' was a good choice. I feel like I could just copy and paste this for most coffee shop reviews now - "Fine, but…read moreexpensive..." I have to be honest, I was not impressed with this latte, and I am wondering why everybody raves about it. I got a vanilla latte and added vanilla cold foam as a little treat and somehow it still had a little to no flavor? I think it was $18 or $19 for 2 drinks, that's just crazy to me and it's my own fault, that should have been a warning, but they had a Ube cruffin (and my husband loves ube) and I ordered one without asking the price and imagine my surprise when it was $7! A little more than that I think actually. I get it - it's a pricey area, they're a block from oven views, it's Laguna, I'm too broke to live and exist there but good Lord. All of that aside, it is a very cute shop, very cute merch, and very good vibes with lots of sitting areas. They even had a cute little corner with toys for kids to play with, which I love!

The order came out quickly and tasted fine, but the cleanliness and vibe were a real letdown. Our outdoor table was dusty and grimy (which I cleaned), and I chalked it up to being outside, but every table and the floor was dirty and remained dirty and littered with trash the entire 2+ hours we were there. Around 3pm (they close at 8), an employee flipped the bar chairs upside down onto the counter without wiping anything, which blocked the view of the business from the sidewalk. People kept walking and wondering out loud if it was closed or closing soon. During a few instances, customers pulled chairs down to sit, got told hastily to put them back when they were done, then a second group and individual customer did the same and sat with their drinks for a few minutes and were told outright they couldn't sit there and the chairs had to go back up, right as a line was forming from the better visibility. There were multiple instances of customers wanting to sit and enjoy their drink, but could not. It was odd. Once the chairs were back up, the business slowed down to a trickle. It was almost comical how the business hurt its own flow. I don't know why we were left alone, maybe because we had laptops and came before some unknown patio seating cutoff rule. The bathroom was just as bad, overflowing trash and paper all over the floor, both when we arrived and when we left. Restrooms should be checked hourly. It's not hard, and it makes you wonder about hygiene behind the counter too. I've had cleaner, friendlier experiences at other Better Buzz locations (La Mesa, University, Point Loma). For Laguna Beach, I'd check out Equator Coffee nearby instead (unfortunately only open until 3), located inside the Rivian showroom, a historic 1922 theater with couches, balcony seating, wifi, and sometimes free evening film screenings you can catch later. TL/DR: Dirty tables and bathroom at this Better Buzz, and an unwelcoming vibe for customers and passersby alike.
