First time to Anastasia brow bar inside Nordstrom Fashion Valley Mall- they're open and wonderful! It's tucked away in the fragrance and makeup department, and I was able to book an appointment online from the main Nordstrom page (Services) tab. I haven't got my brows done in forever and Megan was personable, kind, and listened. I'm super low maintenance/minimal makeup and didn't want them filled in. She said she wants me to feel like myself and comfortable. They turned out great! You'll wear a mask the whole time, she took my temp, wore a mask and gloves and the room is clean and off of the salesfloor. I would definitely go back and recommend if you need 20 min of me time. I've been to Anastasia for awhile. Most of these girls are hit and some are miss. Yesterday was a miss. I was happy Nordstrom now allows us to schedule online. The fault in that was it didn't seem to give me the option of picking the person I want. So when I arrived yesterday, it was Megan who serviced me. Although Megan did spend what felt like 20 mins on me, she did an okay job. She sort of overdid the waxing (when I told her I don't want them thinner just clean) and the filling in wasn't necessarily the best. But that's okay, I'll be fine. The part that bothered me was this -- it costs $30 to wax the brows. When she rang me up, I asked her to put a 20% tip on it. Then she was like, "That makes it 10 dollars then, thank you!" and quickly punched it in and rang me up. It's only $10 so it wasn't worth the awkwardness... but that's pretty shady. I've never had that problem with anyone nor anywhere else and I'm sure the system will calculate what 20% of $30 is, and not mistaken it as 33%. I thought maybe she misheard me but then I don't know how any of those numbers would sound alike. It's a few bucks difference so it's no big deal, but it's the principles. 20 percent is generous considering the work done was just average. Next time I won't take my chances and will call in to pick someone who does a better job and isn't as shady. read more

The only person I can trust for my brows is Nikki! She was at the Anastasia Fashion Valley and now moved to JC Penny right accross the way. Not only does she still use the anastasia way of waxing she also offers facials! It took me a little while to track her down but I am so happy I did! Just got my brows waxed and I feel like a new person! yay Nikki! I've been going to Anastasia at Nordstrom for a couple years now, hence the reason they get the extra star. I enjoy going once in a while, as they are much more expensive than your typical brow wax. I never minded paying more, however, because the quality was top notch. After yesterday's experience, however, I will not return. I don't remember the name of the girl who did my brows, but she said she was the regional manager. She was talking about her life the majority of the time, and the waxing was more painful than usual. After the wax, she must have spent five minutes painting makeup and gel on my brows. Anastasia always does that, but I just wipe it off afterward. Anyway, after paying, grabbing a tissue, and exiting Nordstrom, I got to my car and started removing all the eyebrow makeup... which took forever! I mean, my tissue was absolutely coated with brown makeup when I was through. I can see, now, why she layered so much goop over my eyebrows. They were completely uneven. There were obvious stray hairs at the outer ends, that she never cleaned up or plucked. They looked ridiculous, and I had to go home and fix her botched job. The worst is when I woke up this morning, however. My right eye is red and scabbed where she waxed yesterday. Completely unacceptable. Again, the extra star is for the good service I've received at this salon in the past, but I will never be back. read more

I have been coming to ABH for almost 3 years now and Rachel is the only person I would trust with my brows. My brows have been transformed from thin typical over plucked eyebrows, to full eyebrows that compliment my face perfectly! Let me tell you, the only people I trust my eyebrows to are Anastasia. My brothers and I all inherited my Dad's eyebrows. We're basically eyebrow from the lash line to the brow bone. Not so bad when you are a boy, a pretty big and expensive problem when you are a girl. Now further complicate this by scars around the arch of one of my eyebrows. I've gone to Indian threading places, other waxing places, et cetera et cetera et cetera. I always end up with 1 1/4 eyebrows when I did. Then I found Anastasia. I don't remember how I stumpled upon their Studio at the Nordstrom's in Glendale, but I am so grateful I did. The girls are always helpful, friendly, and professional. They always do a great job. This is my first time at this studio, but I got the same great experience I get from my regular girl. I cannot say enough about their products and their services. They will even show you how to groom your eyebrows in between appointments and how to use the various products. They will even suggest which one is best for you, and never push a sale, which is highly appreciated and fabulous. Yeah it is kinda pricey, but beauty is painful and expensive. I used to get really nice service here, Amber used to do my brows really well and I always received compliments on them. Lately the customer service has been awful. I had an appointment for today and when I saw I was running late I tried to call to let them know and no one would answer the phone. I arrived no more than 10 minutes late and patiently stood there as one sales woman helped two confused customers and one just stood there. I told the first woman my appointment time and that I was late and she said ok just a sec. 15 minutes later she has the other woman "look up" my appointment and she rudely points out that it was earlier... well yeah I explain to her that I've been here (as she well knows because she looked right through me the whole time) waiting, and she basically says oh well they can't help me more than 5 minutes past my appointment. Doesn't offer to make me another appointment or anything. Funny because when I called earlier there were later slots open, but now after being ignored at your counter for 15 minutes you can't help me. I think she just didn't want to help me anyway judging from the way she didn't acknowledge me for 15 minutes in the first place. Very disappointed that I'm not able to get in contact with my previous brow technician. The ladies there were extremely rude, unhelpful and condescending.Not only were they extremely rude and vague, they suggested I go to another technician after I had emphasized that I wasn't interested. Ive waxed since middle school, however her work is exceptional compared to anything else I've ever had. She understands the trends, but makes sure you leave with what's best for you. Unacceptable and utterly disappointed. Seeing Rachel to get my brows done was the second worst mistake of my brow life. She was late, frigid and ruined my brows. (I have uploaded the photos so you can see the American Horror Story that is my brows) My experience with Rachel was horrible, beyond horrible. Anastasia Beverly Hills....you are our brow gurus and we entrust that you add to your team qualified brow artists. Rachel was very rough, felt like my eye and brows were being smacked. Way too much percussion type movements, very heavy handed and poor quality of work done. I never should have strayed from my regular brow artist Angelica. Angelica is warm, gentle and has a true art for brow design. My brows from Rachel look like a toddler did them. Very patchy, some areas with excessive pencil and some areas barely any shading where its needed. I don't know why Rachel felt it necessary to rob me of my brow time to have done a better job. She was late, I was not. I was early. Either she purposely gave me bad brows or is unqualified to be employed by an established with such a high reputation. read more

She is super sweet, and if you don't have an appointment, she will usually fit you in within the next hour. I like my eyebrows to be kind of full, not thin and skinny. A friend refered me this place some time ago and I loved it! Ariel did an amazing job with my brows, like no one else, and I am really picky when it comes to this. I was upset to hear today that Ariel is no longer there but decided to go anyways and have them done by one of the other girls. Result? When I got home and washed the make up off my face I could clearly see that she changed the shape of my brows (something I definitely did not want) and one side looks slightly different than the other. I've been through many "brow artists" and never found any establishment that could create such perfect brows as the gals at Anastasia do. I have very blonde brows so it has been harder for me to find a gal that doesn't shape and fill them in to look like I belong in a LA gangster movie. And although I think the Anastasia studio is a little on the pricey side compared to some other places, its well worth it. At the Fashion Valley location, I've had most of the girls that work there work on my brows but none of them come close to the skills that AMBER has! Don't get me wrong, you would be in good hands with any of their trained staff but AMBER is the real deal. She is so sweet (NOT in a fake,"I just want a good tip" way either), professional, and soooo incredibly good at what she does. She takes her time and actually shows you how to achieve perfect brows on your own. My brows have never looked better and more natural.
