I'm originally from Shanghai, China, and xiaolongbao is my favorite dish. I've tried it everywhere, and this place has the best crab xiaolongbao in California.

A friend recommended this local XLB / Shanghainese restaurant located at Chino Hills, California. Please make sure to make reservation or you have to wait 20-30 minutes. The restaurant offers buns and Shanghai style cuisines and it is popular with locals. It is a modern Chinese restaurant. However, they have limited staff only two people managing the whole front of restaurant. They are friendly. We have a party of four with adults and 2 kids. We order crab XLB (juicy, soup inside, sweet, and yummy), pan fried crab & pork bun (juicy, soup, sweet, and tasty), deep fried salt & pepper pork tastes like pop corn chicken! And Shanghai shredded pork fried thick noodles is savory, sweet, and not too salty. Overall the food is good for Shanghai style dishes like XLB, buns, except for the fried salt and pepper pork is off.

If you're looking for tasty Shanghainese cuisine in the Chino area this one of the few options. It's located in a very random strip mall in the corner near Turner's Sporting Goods. So there is plenty of parking in the huge lot. The restaurant itself is a large size but for some reason they decided to close half of it. Likely from staff shortages, at least when we came here for lunch over the weekend. They do speak english for the non-mandarin speakers but it absolutely helps if you do speak native or bring your friend to help order. The menu is very classic Shanghai foods with popular XLB items and stir fry and large table dishes. If you don't know Shanghainese foods are sweeter in profile. Note the service here is not great as with many HK/Shanghai restaurants but it's almost expected you need to be aggressive to get any service. We got the pan fried pork baos. These were super delicious and one of the best in the SGV area for sure. The bottom is perfectly crispy without being burnt, and it's filled with super HOT juice so be careful with your first bite or the the juice WILL spray out and potentially burn yourself. The safe way is to bite a small hole and drain some of the juice into the soup spoon they gave you. Don't say you didn't get warned or sue them for burning your own mouth lol. The meat filling is well seasoned and pairs well with the black vinegar. The cold Shanghai style shredded chicken with house special chili sauce is a very classic side dish. The paired chili sauce is delicious with the good amount of sweet and savoriness of the soy. You do have the option of a spicy vs non spicy version. The boiled chicken is served ice cold and super tender. Yes the meat itself is only very lightly seasoned so you must use the dipping sauce. Yes you can pour the entire sauce onto the dish if you so desire too. The final dish we got was Kung Pao Chicken as a measurement of the chef. This version was very heavy on the diced white onion but very tasty. They do skimp abit on the chicken vs the veggie ratio. So overall the dish itself looks abit unbalanced since all you see is bell pepper/onions. Like where's the chicken? The sauce is tasty but just ok. They did finish it with a classic splash of black vinegar as you can taste it but just enough sweetness/soy. Overall a good place for a variety of Shanghai style foods or just to come for your XLB, pan fried baos. We will be back again to try other items.

Food was really good and the portions were decently sized. We left with a full belly! Our favorite item on the menu was the braised beef noodle! Very delicious especially when it's cold outside. The interior is a bit empty but the service was very quick and everyone was friendly!

I'm surprised that their food are pretty good. We ordered sheng jian bao, xie fen lao main, drunken chicken, xue li hong. They are all pretty good. Customer service are very good too. The servers are friendly and willing to help you. I recommend it.

When we entered the restaurant at around 12:30pm I was surprised to see many chairs still left upside down on a few tables. Kind of gives an off feeling that the restaurant is not ready for business. The few staff that are there are nice and friendly. The Pork XLB dumplings were excellent! I ordered a 2nd order as everyone enjoyed it. The Fatty pork with eggs was tasty, the dry noodle with green onions are also good, the sticky rice with shrimp Siomai is so-so. Their Beef fried rice is also so-so. Our first experience having a Shanghai dim sum cuisine. The restaurant is clean.

I know I'm in the right place for authentic Chinese food when I walk in and see tables of elderly people that speak Chinese/Shanghai-nese and the waiters/waitresses know their regular patrons personally. I was in Rowland and craving 魚香肉絲 from a no frills restaurant (not from those unnecessarily expensive/ornate restaurants) and found S&W in the plaza across Auntea Jenny's. We ordered the dish I was craving, which translates to fish braised meat strips?? The dish does not have a fish taste at all but more of a tangy/sweet-ish/salty flavor that I love. The portion was large for the price and it came out perfectly seasoned - my craving was satisfied. This dish had more meat than I am used to and do wish they added 木耳 or 豆乾 to lighten it up a bit. Also ordered the meatballs which were large and hefty! They were so good and perfect with rice. Came with napa cabbage and fresh bamboo as well. Lastly, we ordered the seaweed fried fish, which hit the spot for my fish craving. The fish wasn't fishy at all and the flavor was good. Wish they provided the salt and pepper dip but I guess we could have asked them and they would have provided. Service was extremely kind, it felt like I was eating at my mom's home and the food hit the spot. They offered free rice ball dessert at the end but we were so stuffed we had to pass, but the table next to us got it and it looked delicious! Will have to try next time. I will likely bring my parents here next time as they also enjoy a no-frills Chinese restaurant!

The most attractive part of dining here is their incredible "Buy 4 Dishes, Get 1 Free" deal, which they offer all day long. In an area where prices are constantly rising, this deal makes it one of the most affordable and satisfying options for a large group. Because of this value and the quality of the food, the restaurant is always busy, but it's well worth the wait. I like to recommend a few dishes there. Hu Nan Tofu: This is my mother-in-law's absolute favorite. The sauce is the star here--it's savory and perfectly seasoned, making the tofu taste amazing. Crab Meat Fish Maw Soup: I highly recommend starting your meal with this. It's comforting, rich, and high-quality. You must add red vinegar and pepper to make it perfect. Bitter Melon: They cook the bitter melon really well here, balancing the flavors so it's not over-powering. House Special Garlic & Chili Seasoning (Crab/Lobster): For special occasions, their seasoned crab and lobster are fantastic. The garlic and chili kick really elevates the fresh seafood. Whether it's a casual weeknight dinner or a big family celebration, LT Shanghai delivers consistent, comforting flavors. It truly feels like a "home away from home" for Chinese cuisine. The interior feels nice and lavish, and the dishes are served on these massive plates that really give off a luxury dining vibe. Servers were also nice for the most part. Food-wise, I ordered the yan du xian, xiao long bao, and a crab dish that came with the thin wraps usually used for duck. The xiao long bao was acceptable, though the flavor was definitely different from what I'm used to at other local spots like Din Tai Fung. Not bad, just different. The crab dish was actually pretty tasty and something I'd definitely order again. The yan du xian, unfortunately, was the weak point for me. I have this dish relatively often, so I had certain expectations going in. The soup had this strange stench to it that I can't really describe beyond just tasting "stinky." It may have been from the pork or bamboo shoots, though the pork itself tasted okay to me. Whatever it was, the flavor just felt off, and I'd probably skip that dish next time. Overall though, I still enjoyed the experience enough to maybe come back and try other dishes like the acorn fish and braised pork, but will need some time first to forget the yan du xian flavor...
