    Crispy pork chops
    Jeff C.

I liked it. Inside is bright and simply decored with a few tables for seating. A good place for a small group. You can order at the tablet kiosks. I got mine to go. I got the crispy pork chops bento. It was good. I like that it came with lots of veggies so I feel like it was pretty healthy. I'm a low-key fatty so I need all the help I can get lol. The pork chops were good but could have used some brown sauce on the side. A decent portion size too. The menu has lots of other bentos and noodle dishes so I would definitely come back to try more. Service was good. Friendly staff. Easy parking in the shopping center lot.

A solid Taiwanese spot, seems like they moved so I had to check out this spot. They now have a self ordering kiosks for takeout or you can sit down and dine in. The seating arrangement is similar to a boba cafe, not too much but not too little. Most tables can seat up to 4 people which is great. I'm a big fan of the popcorn chicken bento box (14.50) but this time I opted for the braised minced pork over rice bento. ($14) Food came out decently quick, and presentation is pretty standard to your usual dish. I do love the flavor mix between all the vegetables, pork, and tomatoes. The side of eggs is also a nice touch to the dish. If you mix it well, you can get that savory/sweet flavoring which I absolutely love. For drinks, you can head over next to the counter and you'll see drinks to fill on your own. Options are wintermelon tea, oolong tea, and water. Options could change but there's also drinks to order as well, haven't had the chance to try those but perhaps the next time I visit. A decent Taiwanese spot, plenty of free parking in a large lot, and there's a market and a boba spot in the same plaza, definitely worth checking out.

At their old location, I would get their popcorn chicken to-go since they were usually busy. Now, they moved from the Costco plaza to the plaza across from Veteran's Park. There's a kiosk if you want to order take-out. Seating area is small, I got a table and ordered a deep fried squid combo ($15) which is pickled daikon radish, steamed broccoli, bean sprouts, fried squash, minced pork with rice and fried squid. Wait time was not long since I came before the dinner rush. They do have an area where you can get water or wintermelon tea with miso soup. Staff is nice, good amount of parking space.

Weekday lunch special pork intestines vermicelli
    Steve H.

My pickleball partner and I decided to try Dago Bento House for lunch after playing pickleball. Vibe is small eatery, clean, and efficient. Service is friendly for a busy restaurant. We ordered weekdays lunch special (different everyday) which is pork intestines vermicelli. The intestines doesn't taste funny or smells and the soup is actually very tasty. They do taste like authentic Taiwanese dishes. Lunch special comes with black or green tea of your choice! And my partner picked from regular menu, pork chop rice and milk tea. Portion looks good and he likes the taste.

Taiwanese Red Yeast Pork Bento - it's like sliced pork chops without the bones

They moved from the Costco plaza to this plaza across from Veteran's Park. They have a self-serve drink station with daily soups and teas that you can enjoy while you wait for your food which is a big plus and rare nowadays. There is limited seating so it's more for small parties or to-go. Food is delicious with generous portions and comes out pretty quickly and service is also quick and attentive. They have daily specials that come with a green or black iced tea and I tried the Taiwanese Red Yeast Pork Bento the last time I went. The bentos come with seasonal sides - the sides last time were tomato tofu, braised pumpkin, and bean sprouts. Healthy and delicious to balance out the fried pork!

This is the new location for what was previously Dago by the Costco. Same great food and flavors with a little twist. They now have complimentary tea and soup that's self serve for dine in customers. Takeout customers can order at the kiosks by the entrance. The staff is very friendly and helpful with selecting menu items. It was my first time trying the spicy chicken with rice and was impressed! The spicy dip has a mala flavor which is great for those who enjoy a kick. They have a similar version with cold noodles that I'll have to try next time.

What a great find in stumbling across this cozy Taiwanese Spot With Delicious Comfort Food. I hadn't been to a Taiwanese restaurant in so long, so I was really excited to try Dago Bento House. We came on a Saturday around 1:30pm and waited about 20 minutes--not too bad. The interior is small but clean, cozy, and inviting. Service was fast and friendly, but one of the best surprises was the self-serve station up front with hot soup, winter melon tea, and brown sugar ginger tea. The soup was comforting and flavorful, the winter melon tea was light and refreshing, and the ginger tea was warm, fragrant, and absolutely delicious. For food, we ordered the Peddler Noodle Soup, which ended up being the most disappointing dish. There was very little minced meat and the broth just didn't have the depth of flavor I've had at other Taiwanese spots. The pork & chive dumplings, on the other hand, were delicious and satisfying, and the popcorn chicken was a total hit--my daughter loved it so much she nearly finished the whole plate herself. I also tried the pork belly with bamboo shoots rice plate with minced pork. While the minced pork portion was smaller than expected, the pork belly itself was tasty, and the side veggies were plentiful and delicious. It tasted healthy and very much like comforting home cooking. Overall, a great spot with warm vibes, tasty dishes, and some real standouts. Definitely recommend!

    XLB (so good!!)

This place got busy during lunch! Enjoyed the self serve soup and ginger tea (although very bitter for my liking). The XLB was surprisingly our favorite along with the popcorn chicken. Wouldn't get the spicy beef noodle soup again personally but nice to try

East LA friends you've probably been to the famous Dago Bento in Chino Hills, but they recently moved, and the new location comes with a semi-buffet . Once you order your entrée, you get unlimited soup, Taiwanese desserts, and drinks. At the buffet bar, the brown sugar ginger tea is perfect for winter, and the plum lemonade is a classic Taiwanese flavor. Of course, I grabbed a classic boba milk tea not too sweet with super chewy boba. For food, the Taiwanese beef noodle soup is a must. Seafood lovers shouldn't miss the oyster pancake and the new fried squid honestly the most authentic oyster pancake I've had since visiting Taiwan. And dessert? Their grass jelly red bean pudding is huge and totally shareable between 3-4 people. They also offer gift cards with 10-15% off now until the end of the year, which you can also add to Apple Wallet. So it won't go missing. Right! you're basically paying around $12-$13 for a meal plus semi-buffet !! If you're nearby or craving Taiwanese food, this is a must-visit! 洛杉磯東區超人氣餐廳!點餐$15左右還送湯品 甜點 飲品 現在有禮品卡折上折! IG: socalhkfoodies

We drove out here after seeing photos and posts on IG. Seemed like a popular local place because it was semi busy for a weekday. The place is clean and nice. They have two ordering screens for takeout orders only. If you sit at the table, you can order thru QR code or with the server. There is a small self service station for drinks (water and free tea. Oolong or winter melon teas, but both are pre-sweetened). And self service condiments in same area. Fried Swai fish bento box - this was ok. Fish seasoned and fried well. The veggies were the best part of the dish. There was no mince meat on the rice as shown in menu pictures. Dish needs a good dipping sauce for the fish. Xiao Long Bao - good flavor but doesn't have enough soup inside. Popcorn chicken - seasoned and fried well. Good portion size. Spicy beef noodle soup - was not good. Broth tasted too sweet and tangy. Definitely not spicy. Overall - I wouldn't recommend if you don't live nearby. Not worth the drive. Xiao long bao -

Complimentary milk tea (love that you can adjust sweetness)!
    Lina T.

I AM A FAN. Let me tell you why... Milk teas!! I actually thoroughly enjoyed their milk teas. They were very well balanced and I LOVE that you can adjust the sweetness here. I take that to mean they don't just make a huge batch sitting around. Also, it's a no-frills type of milk tea and honestly sometimes that all you need! The dry noodle was delicious for me. I tend to not like things too salty, so if you're like me, you have found a home here! The noodles were the perfect consistency and I loved the ingredients in it - though I could have had a bit more minced meat. Overall, I enjoyed it and would order again because I liked the light flavor. The braised chicken was also delicious. Again, it's on the lighter flavor profile side, so take that into consideration. My friend ordered the braised minced pork belly, but he wanted just the braised pork belly, so read the menu carefully and don't order the wrong thing!! The service was very friendly. They seemed new because they had an error with payment for us, but they were still friendly through it all and I was appreciative of it. There was a bit of a wait at night, I'm not sure if it's because of the promos or if everyone is a regular. All in all, I'll be back! Come give this small shop a try!!

Taiwanese noodles with minced pork sauce
    Tina N.

I was in the area to pick up some stuff and saw this place. The menu looks interesting with so many food options. It was packed on a Monday night but we were seated quickly. I got the Taiwanese noodles with minced pork sauce and my friend got the chicken and mushroom soup with rice (choice of rice, noodles, vermicelli). Everything tasted good. Food portion was huge. They also offered free soup, brown sugar ginger tea, and wintermelon drink. I would come back if I'm in the area again to try other items on the menu.

I'm in the Chino Hills and browsing for lunch spots; I found Dago Bento House on Yelp. The restaurant is small, with only a few tables, and I got the Crispy Fried Pork Chop Bento, Fried Crispy Squid, and two Assam Black Teas. The Crispy Fried Pork Chop Bento is crispy on the outside but dried on the inside, and the Assam Black Tea reminds me of my childhood in Taiwan, where I loved drinking old-fashioned black tea. Overall, the food was not bad and had nice flavor. If you want a quick and easy meal, come check out this place.

There isn't seating with them, so you must find a spot in the general area, no problems there. The garlic noodles will have real chopped garlic with a delicious flavoring that will have you satisfied with a stinky breath (not sorry) and the pork belly bao is insanely tender, you'll think you're not even chewing over how soft it is. With a large parking lot calming any worries of finding parking, the shop is located at the front of the curb and even easier to spot given the Hanlin sign in black font hovering among the other establishments. The entrance is very open with an IG friendly bench below a neon sign to the right and a shining white counter sitting in front of you. It's easy finding a seat among the chairs that litter the space, especially by an outlet for all your devices. It was honestly surprising to find this almost being a cyber cafe as most other coffee shops, milk tea shops and others because they have a lot more considerations and food options to choose from. Especially being guided by the staff immediately upon the question of, "Have you been here before?" No! I haven't but I appreciated the fact that the service here is all about what is the best, what to expect and how to make the experience as smooth as possible. Thankfully it is easy finding something you'd like within the vast menu. Not to mention you'd also like the fact that everything is priced pretty average compared to most places around the area. It's still surprisingly to me finding a Taiwanese restaurant around this area but that's something that you come for especially price for price and pound for pound when it comes to portion and taste. Speaking of taste! The plum juice with boba was a good balance but lets not forget plum is definitely a certain bittersweet taste profile that isn't often enjoyed. It's a good reminder that you're having a subtle and healthy, fruity drink and still pairing it with the sweetness of boba. Now pair it with a small eats such as the popcorn chicken! Crispy basil residing in all the frizzled and well seasoned chicken and not to mention how juicy and tender the chicken is!
