    pan fried buns

comforting food that tastes pretty good but definitely on the oilier side. Favorite is scallion oil noodles! it has such a good flavor. like savory, roasted, and a little hint of sweet. pan fried buns used to be our favorite but i think its a bit too greasy for me service is fine and the ambiance is super casual. its a small restaurant with plenty of seating.

We did a birthday dinner here. My friend spoke Chinese, so we ordered with less oil, not too salty, no MSG, no tapioca starch in the soup or stir fry, etc. I am sure they loved us picky eaters. Well the food came out and it was very healthy tasting. The customized our order to be more healthy. We had a great time. There were 3 servers. The older lady was kind of mean, slammed my tea on the table. The other two servers were very nice and kind. Their hot tea was really good. The place got pretty busy and full. Show up closer to 5pm to get a table.

Staple taiwanese dishes are my comfort food, but the braised pork belly didn't taste as good as it did before. The other dishes also seemed like a miss this time except for the green bean with pork and spicy beef noodle. - Crispy Seaweed Fish: the crisp was nice and the seaweed was fragrant, but it seems the flavor is easily masked by the heavier flavors of other dishes. - Cumin Lamb: the lamb was waaay too fatty. Every bite was too soft and chewy, or it would have a tendon or something tough in it. I was expecting a slightly more dry/lean cut. - Braised Pork w Preserved Vegetables: this dish in general is one that I always look to since I love fatty pork, BUT, this one was too dry. I tried to remedy it with the sauce underneath but it didn't help much. Will say it's still tasty though. There was too much preserved veggies. Service was good except they swipe the card and kinda hover while you fill in the tip. Restaurant was clean, with some simple art and phrases decor.

This Shanghainese noodle was very good.

So we forgot about this restaurant and then this came up on an Instagram ad. It looked so good on the ad so we went to try it. Let's just say their advertising is better than their food. Their pan fried buns which are featured was just grease balls. So oily and not delicious couldn't even finish one. Their Shanghai noodle was good. Their pan fried onion cake was not authentic. I don't even know what that was. I ordered string beans and they brought out a heavily sauced dish with eggplants. The restaurant had a very unappetizing pink wall color. I love Shanghainese food. But this isn't it. So disappointed. Service was alright.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, I don't know why Tasty Noodle House doesn't have a higher Yelp rating. This is one of our regular Chinese restaurants. Their dumplings are always good (order steamed/boiled ones if you don't want their super oily grilled pork buns or potstickers0. Other faves are their preserved vegetables and fish noodle soup, black pepper seafood rice cakes, Shanghai style chow mein, and spicy fish with tofu on rice. Prices are pretty reasonable. The only reason why I don't give it five stars is because the food can be very greasy.

My fiancé and I love coming here. The juicy pan fried buns and sautéed snake gourd with dried mini shrimp are our favorites. The food comes out quickly expect for a 20 min wait for the buns, but those buns are worth it! This place is always relatively busy but we never have to wait more than 20 minutes.

Easy parking + no wait time + okay service. We got the XLBs and spicy pork noodle soup. The skin of the XLBs were a little thick, but both dishes were good.

Located in the same shopping center off of Culver Drive with their sister location, Tasty Garden. This authentic Chinese restaurant serves delicious noodle dishes. The string beans with eggplant was a great choice! I recommend menu number 42. Beef Brisket Noodle Soup / Lo Mein. Savory noodle dishes with soft beef brisket chunks, carrots and potatoes. The pineapple fried rice was another great option. Our favorite item was the number 11 grilled pork dumplings.

Came here on a whim, but loved every dish that we ordered. Service is fast and your food comes out even faster. While the interior isn't strongly decorated the atmosphere is still pretty warm and friendly. The xiao long bao has a thin dumpling skin, which makes the soup in the meat filling much more satisfying to bite into and the stir fried green beans, according to my mom, are very true to the original dish. The pricing for the food is reasonable as well. 10/10 would come again.

Establishment is cozy, clean and laidback. Staff was professional and courteous. The menu is varied. We ordered the #11 Shanghai Grilled Pork Bun, #25 pumpkin pancake, #34 spicy cucumber salad, #26 spicy marinated mix, and #29 roasted pomfret. The pork bun was fluffy with a crispy bottom and a juicy interior. The pumpkin pancake was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, like rice cake. The roasted pomfret was also quite good, slightly sweet. TLDR: Excellent service, excellent food, excellent establishment, great value. Would recommend!

Our initial plan was to go to Din Tai Fung but the wait was too long! We have a tasty noodle house in San Diego so we decided to check this one out since it wasn't on the way home from Anaheim. Best decision ever. It was busy but no wait for our big group of 6, thankfully. Everything we tried was great! No complaints. The food came out super fast too!!! And not to mention we spent less money than trying to go to our original spot. Honestly, this location seemed better than our SD location.

Great place for fast, authentic Chinese food for lunch. Staff were welcoming and nice. Ambiance is casual and bright.

I would give Tasty Noodle 3.5 stars but rounded to 4 stars. This is my second time here and the dishes I ordered the last time were consistent in flavor. The mushroom and eggplant dish with basil is always fantastic. The vegetables taste fresh and the hint of basil is so tasty. The pan fried pork buns are also very good. The value is excellent compared to others restaurants as you get 8 buns for $13.50. Crunchy bun with tasty filling and soup inside. The order is made to order so you need to place the order as soon as you sit down and it'll probably be the last dish you get while eating. The other two dishes were not too bad either but the stir fried rice cakes were too sweet. I'm not sure if the chef mistook sugar for salt? The rice cakes were nice and tender though. The fish noodle soup was also not too bad. The noodles seemed to be homemade as well. The fish was tender and not fishy tasting. The restaurant is located in a strip mall so there is plenty of parking. It is also not that large, it may be able to seat around 50 people. It is a very casual eatery. Staff is friendly and service is very quick. Portions are large and cost is cheap for the area. It is a great place to get authentic Chinese food.

This is a chain and I've been to the ones in LA and always enjoyed the food there. I was happy to see one open up in the OC. The interior is very unassuming and is next to a bulk sized grocery store for Asian food. The signs are almost hidden from the front so you wouldn't know to look for it unless you read these reviews first! We tried a variety of items: Shrimp egg rolls, fish with seaweed, fried pork buns, Shanghai rice cakes, and salt and pepper pork. All the items were really tasty except for the fried pork buns - don't get those. The bun part was very mushy and you didn't get any soup inside. The fish with seaweed and salt and pepper pork chops were excellent. Very flavorful and not too salty. I would definitely get those again. The Shanghai style rice cakes are also very good, nice and chewy, definitely cooked correctly. And you can't go wrong with the shrimp egg rolls - they came with large chunks of shrimp which was nice. Prices are very reasonable and portions are generous compared to what you would find in Irvine for similar quality. I would come back!

It's about time I reviewed them! My number one dish goes to the minced pork rice- it's a pretty simple dish, but it's sooo good here for some reason. It's also just as amazing takeout which I always appreciate. Other go-tos are the spicy beef noodle soup- the beef in it is always so tender and I love getting the thick noodle option because of the rough texture it adds. Beef roll and pan fried dumplings are always a good option for sharing. Have tried a lot of things on their menu and nothing so far has disappointed!

What happened tonight at this restaurant was genuinely concerning and honestly unacceptable…read more We came here for Mother's Day dinner and immediately had a poor experience with service. After being seated, we waited over 10 minutes before we could finally wave someone down just to be greeted and offered water. The more serious issue, however, involved food safety. My younger sister has a severe, life-threatening nut allergy. We ordered several dishes for our family, and one of the soups we received contained peanuts despite there being absolutely no disclosure of peanuts on the menu. At a restaurant where nut usage is apparently common, that is extremely dangerous. Thankfully, my sister was cautious and did not eat any of it because she was worried about cross-contamination. After we raised concerns, we were told that the dishes we ordered "should not" contain nuts and that the chefs wash their utensils and woks after each dish. However, we also learned they reuse the same cooking oil between dishes. If peanut-containing dishes are cooked using that oil and the oil is recycled back into the same supply, there is still a major cross-contamination risk regardless of whether the utensils are washed. What made this worse was the manager's response. Instead of acknowledging the seriousness of undisclosed peanuts and shared cooking oil, my sister was blamed for "not mentioning her allergy," even though a different employee took our order and the menu itself failed to disclose peanuts in the soup. Food allergies are not preferences. For some people, this is literally life or death. Restaurants that use peanuts or peanut oil -- especially with shared oil systems -- should clearly disclose ingredients and properly train staff on allergy safety and cross-contamination. This situation could have gone very differently for another family.

We waited one hour on my visit, but that is to be expected as the restaurant is quite small. Beef Rolls (5/5): We got two orders of these, and it was our favorite for a reason. It needed the sauce of course! Spicy Wontons (4/5): These are solid and the chili oil does pack a lot of heat. I would say they are on the spicier side, just wish there was a little more depth to it. Seven Grams XLB (4/5): Juicy and flavorful! Not the absolute best I've had, but still worth ordering. Golden Beef Noodle Soup (5/5): This bowl right here was amazing. Green leafy kale paired with the extra hearty soup was what made this bowl a standout dish for me. 100% would order this alone! Mapo Tofu (5/5): Yummy silky tofu cubes with the minced meat sauce were delicious in every bite! I had no other complaints, but this dish gets very filling easily. Seating consider is around 10 tables plus hjgh top stools, so if you are a large group the wait can be long. We stopped by yesterday to try out some new items, which were a mixed bag. First the Cheese Chicken Roll was surprisingly good. Imagine the Beef Roll and swap things around to get something off of a fancy KFC menu. It features a crispy flaky tortilla outside, wrapped around copious chicken (katsu texture), some lettuce for a crunch, some melted cheese, and then a spicy Thousand-Island type dressing. It all pairs well, has a good chicken portion, and texture variation too. My only desire would be for slightly more lettuce and slightly less cheese, otherwise perfect. Crispy Lotus Root Fries are solid, but not a replacement for typical potato fries. The lotus version was not as crispy or crunchy, but would be an Asian version. It comes with ketchup and the same spicy thousand island dressing as the chicken roll. Lastly we were let down by the Pan Fried Shrimp&Chicken Dumplings (Whole Wheat). The whole wheat wrapping had a very slight texture difference, not as chewy as the typical dumpling wrapping. But the inside was the main focus. It seemed like it was a fishball inside, a homogenous color and texture and more reminiscent of fish than of shrimp. It's possible we got the wrong dumpling. Based on this experience we would not order it again. Wheat wrapping would be fine, but the shrimp/chicken filling would be a no.
