The pizza is always delicious... and this was no exception. I ordered a pizza with classic red sauce, shredded and fresh mozzarella, spinach, mushrooms, beef meatballs, roasted red peppers, olives, sauteed onions, arugula, and goat cheese with cherry bomb BBQ sauce drizzled on top. Mmmmm Mmmmm MMMMMM!! The crust was a little thinner than I've had at other locations, and that is all right with me. More room in my tummy for all those yummy delicious toppings. No better way to spend a delayed flight, pizza and drinks. I thought the pizza was pretty good. I like that all pizzas are the same price no matter how many toppings you get. Roughly $11 per pie. Similar to the idea of blaze pizza. They also gave a considerable amount of toppings. Not skimpy like most places. The pepperoni was nice and crispy. Service was very quick even though there were a lot of people, they have a good system going. Not too shabby for airport food. I also enjoyed the convenience of the connected bar. For $10, you get about 8-10 square pieces of pizza that two people can share! The service was quick, friendly, and they have protocols in place for social distancing if you decide to eat there. Although it may have been a little overkill with the balsamic drizzle, which overpowered the truffle oil, but it was a great effort! This was an accidental dinner because United was a mess (again, but that's a different review...) and I walked over to the closest bar. This &pizza needs improvement. We were excited to see an &pizza at the airport, and at 6am, I was ready for breakfast. It still looked closed at the 6am opening time, but as we approached the counter, an employee was present and it looked like they were getting ready for business. We asked if they were open yet, and she told us to come back in 20 minutes. Around 7am, we came back and ordered the All-American Breakfast pizza: olive oil, shredded mozzarella, grilled onion, tomato, sausage, bacon, egg, tater tots, and hot sauce. The employee making the pizza wasn't familiar with the pizza. She was about to make the pizza with tomato sauce instead of olive oil (though I wouldn't have been upset), but then she stopped and asked the other employee what was supposed to go on the pizza and she correctly added the olive oil base. She got most of the other toppings correct, but when it came to the proteins, she asked which ones we wanted. We advised that we wanted the default toppings - sausage and bacon. One of the reasons that we chose the breakfast pizza was because we wanted to get the tater tots. When we asked to add the tater tots to the pizza, they said they didn't have any. Fortunately, they were accommodating and let us add some additional finishes such as their avocado mash and banana peppers. This location does not accept the &pizza app/loyalty program, but I'm sure that's in the fine print somewhere about airport locations. Overall, I would say that service was dazed and confused. The All-American pizza didn't hit the spot as breakfast nor as pizza... I think red sauce would've helped. There was sadly no more Cereal Milk Cream Soda and I had trouble deciding on another soda. The cashier gave me sample cups to try the sodas despite the long line. I am a pizza guy and love the concept - make your own pizza and it's quick ! Set up like Subway but pizza! Problem was, maybe TOO quick? Pizza was good, but not piping hot and the crust soft /soggy. I think this could be 5 stars with a couple minutes more in that oven?! I had a simple order; traditional crust, sauce and mozzarella with red roasted peppers. I liked it! But like I said, a crispy crust and served piping hot and it would be a jackpot! Like their craft sodas too - I had a black cherry and it was good. This is an airport pizza place in the Dulles Airport. The pizza and service here is fantastic. The person taking my order was very courteous and patient. I built my own pizza with the various ingredients: spicy tomato sauce, mozzarella balls, pepperoni, mushrooms, basil, goat cheese, and red pepper flakes. Totally delicious! The pizza comes out nice and hot. If you are not in a hurry there's a bar and seating area. There is no table service but that really doesn't matter. In a fitting development, this &pizza will be my last review in the DC area*. It's a bit of a trip seeing an &pizza in an airport. You miss the vibe of the nicer locations in the heart of DC, but it sure is good news to see some food here. They had some struggle with the machine that presses the dough into shape while I was there. Fortunately, I got in early. Delays are never a good thing in an airport. On the bright side, they were open early and have generous hours. The culinary experience of an &pizza was largely preserved. The sundried tomatoes tasted a tad off to me for some reason, but other than that, the regular toppings and options were all there. And for those not in the know, there are a lot of great ones. Get some greens and chickpeas and you'll have the most rounded pizza-based meal you could ask for. Their house drinks are on offer as well. The price is a tad higher than it would be outside an airport, and if you have the &pizza app and rewards program, it won't work here. This is unfortunate, but unsurprising, as airport businesses generally work that way. In some ways, I might be inclined to give it a three star rating, but as I waited for them to fix the dough machine, I pondered the thought of eating somewhere else in Dulles. Could I get a delicious meal of fresh ingredients with ample and clearly labeled vegetarian options? No, I think I'd be much happier here. *(Seriously. For the forseeable future, anyway) read more

Anyone that travels extensively understands airport food is usually meant to be eaten out of necessity and rarely are these restaurants and kiosks designed to be a destination. The staffs are usually poorly trained and their attitude is generally a reflection of the clientele they deal with day in and day out, it's just a fact that's how it works. I've walked by this pizza in a flash business more times than I can count and never stopped in to try them for myself. Their signature rectangular shaped to-go boxes are as recognizable here at Dulles as the airline logos that fly in and out of this Washington based airport. During a recent extended layover I knew the airline club snacks wasn't going to do the trick today so I decided to brave the long line and see what all the hypes about at &pizza. Like most of the customers here I tried to build the pizza in my mind prior to stepping up to the counter to keep the process moving - regular crust, spicy red sauce, jalapeño peppers, Italian sausage and pepperoni and shredded mozzarella of course. By the time I paid the young lady she was slicing my pizza, once lengthwise and four cross cuts on the eat-in only serving tray. I am by no means a pizza aficionado but I do know what I like in a pizza and that I like it cooked up crispy in a brick oven style (this is pretty close to that) - yes I was hungry but no matter this pizza was amazing and now it's clear to me why the lines can be so long especially when you compare this venue to any of the other airport offerings. So I came in here with very low expectations because 1. I always have low expectations for pizza outside of NY and 2. I have especially low expectations for airport pizza 3. I have never heard if &pizza given I'm not from the area so I didn't realize it was a chain (and a successful one at that). With that said, I was delightfully surprised upon taking a bite of this pizza. We got tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, some garlic sauce and basil. The flavors were really good and the crust, although thin, wasn't flimsy and help up really well. This is really tasty, artisan pizza. Aside from the quality of the pizza, they also had some really unique, creative options to choose from. If it weren't for my overly picky fiancé, I probably would've tried something a little more adventurous.
