I had a really disappointing experience at &pizza inside IAD Airport. While preparing food, one of the employees was grabbing trash bins with the same gloves she was using to make pizzas and never changed them afterward. Watching someone handle garbage and then go right back to preparing food without switching gloves is honestly unacceptable from a food safety standpoint. On top of that, the overall customer service was poor. The employee barely acknowledged customers, had a very rude attitude, and made the whole interaction uncomfortable. Paying around $14 for a pizza at the airport is already expensive, but you at least expect decent service and basic hygiene. Unfortunately, this location didn't deliver on either. I hope management takes food safety and customer service more seriously in the future. read more

You can also "create your own" pizza and there are a lot of toppings. I got a pizza here at Dulles International Airport in DC on a layover. I was starving and nothing looked good until I saw &pizza. The pizzas looked good, well at least the pictures of the pizza looked good. I ordered the least fatting one which was the Margherita. The pizza would have been excellent if it were cooked longer, as it was a bit doughy. The service was typical airport pizza which meant crappy service and the spoken langue was finger pointing. Went to &pizza at Dulles Airport between flights and got the Dirty Bird. It's plain dough covered in chicken and jalapeños topped with ranch and hot sauce. I tried disgusting blue cheese for yummy creamy goat cheese and it was delicious on the pizza! I wish the crust was a bit crisper with their thinner cut style, but they do have separate cutting blades based on the type of pizza sauce you're getting! I went over there and waited for 25 minutes, but the line moves very slow here, and it was clear they were not going to be able to fill my order by the time I had to catch my plane. I went back to the counter to ask if she could help me, but she yelled at me again to go back in line. I finally got to the woman making the pizzas, but she couldn't make my full order by the time I had to board, so I had to get back out of line, at which point the woman who had yelled at me threw two of the three pizzas at me and yelled at me again. Contrary to the website, this location has a limited selection. So limited that your choices are cut down to four, but still nothing like the website. I wanted something quick, but this was not quick. It took at least a good fifteen minutes, not because they putting together of the food took long, conveying through the oven was a mere few minutes, but because the employees were more concerned with anything but the customers or putting out the food. The couple in front of me ordered and they waited to complete their order without acknowledging me or anyone behind me until that order was complete. Then when they did take my order it was like I was bothering them. I honestly don't know what it was called that I got, but it was a white pizza more akin to garlic bread. When it came out I asked for it to be topped with more Parm. The drink selection here was a miss. Bottled water sat in a cooler that blew hot air rather than cold air, but you do have to remember, this is an airport. The server was unhelpful and said he was charging a $1 extra for anything that was part of the offerings, and is usually free. I had to repeat the the cash was on the counter, right next to the register that she walked away from before she finally calmed down. Once she saw it, there was no apology. What appeared to be the man anger, a middle aged man, showed up about then. The feeling I got is that he was a little sheepish knowing that this is how this ride employees behaves, yet no apology at all. I would give this place negative 5 stars if it was possible!!
