Their sausage was a concerning gray color and the "sausage" crumble looked very dry. I ordered a pizza with pepperoni and pineapple. The pineapple was ripped apart into smaller pieces. There wasn't a good amount of cheese or pepperoni present. The pizza did not taste good. It's very bland. Got a Cesar salad with an insufficient amount of cheese-tasted funny. The location by Vcu is the worst &PIZZA ever not only is it the worst you can never get a hold of anybody nobody from corporate customer service when you email them ever gets back to you when you order stuff online and go to pick it up. I had a great experience at this new pizza spot. I'll be honest that I don't eat fast food much so my expectations were quite low. I like that the menu has just a handful of options or you can simply build your own. I went with the America Honey and told them not to add the red pepper flakes at the end. Since the sauce was spicy tomato, I wanted to make sure my pizza wasn't too spicy. Every pizza is made to order and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite of mine. I'll say that that spicy marinara didn't really taste spicy to me at all so next time I'd opt back on for the red pepper flakes. But I loved the flavors of the toppings on this pizza and the crust was yummy. I appreciated the interesting and fun flavors at the soda fountain. If you are a soda purest (a Coke loyalist for example) you may not be into this. But as someone who doesn't drink some often, I was intrigued and pleasantly surprised. I got the anise root beer. Not only did i watch food get dropped on the counter and get put back into someones order, a woman came from BOH with gloves on, joined the service line, then proceeded to leave the service line with her gloves still on and take off her pullover and adjusted her shirt below including touching her bare skin and fixing her apron, hat, and hair and then immediately joined the service line handling food again with the SAME gloves on still. I did interrupt to ask that she change her gloves and wash her hands and that was met with a blank and annoyed stare to which she splashed water on her hands and immediately joined the service line again. when she called my order i was given all of my items loose regardless of having several boxes and a drink and the same individual continued to touch screens on their POS system with their gloves still on and continued to make others food as well. First time &Pizza visit! Stopped in today and got the American Honey pizza. Kinda like a blend between a NY Style and a flatbread. Delicious crust, and the American Honey was just my speed--savory with a touch of sweet thanks to the hot honey. Good personal serving size. Oval shape. Also, I don't even drink sugary drinks (for that matter, I don't really eat pizza, either), but I couldn't resist trying the Pear, Fig Elixir. On a return trip, I want to try the Ginger Berry Lemonade. Everything was so good! My only gripe would be that the line doesn't move very quickly because everything is made to order and they wait for your crust to finish baking before they ring you up. It's Chipotle-style where they add toppings as you go down the line. Some go on before the oven, some after. We just finished eating this pizza. The dough is good and I appreciate the options for creating your own pizza. We truly appreciate not being charged or limited in the toppings we could place on our pizza. I was charged extra for shrimp. That is understandable. I ordered a customs pizza with traditional crust, park sauce, arugula, shrimp, tomatoes, banana peppers, Buffalo drizzle and garlic sauce. I had to pace myself to eat the entire thing. Their pizza is pretty comparable to other &pizza locations but I just wanted to give a shout out to the solid service I received. I visited about 15 minutes before closing time as the last customer. The staff were still very nice and patient with me. One staff in particular gave me extra spinach when I had asked and then asked me if it was ok to put a quick layer of cheese on top so the spinach won't burn. I thought that was a nice little gesture! He could have totally not cared, especially because it was close to closing time but he went that extra mile and confirmed if I was ok with it! I hate feeling like I'm in the minority here, but I really did not think that my experience matched up with the price of the pizzas. I came in yesterday with my two year old and unfortunately had a very underwhelming experience. I'm surprised that not many people are mentioning how slow moving this line is. When I think of fast casual, I think of fast. There was only one other couple in front of me and it took over 20 minutes to order and get my pizza. Every pizza is made to order, so it's understandable that it takes time. For that reason, I would definitely recommend ordering ahead and doing pickup. As for the concept, I love the idea of a customized pizza! I love that they have the option of sliced mozzarella and shredded. I love sliced, so I chose that, the regular marinara sauce, pepperoni, and italian sausage on gluten free crust. They asked me if my gluten free request was due to an allergy or a preference. I said allergy, so they washed the prep area before making my pizzas which was a nice gesture. The not-so-great parts of my experience were definitely the time it took to order and receive my food, the price, and the gluten free crust. My total came to just above $30 for 3 pizzas. Gluten free crust is so hard to perfect, and unfortunately I just didn't love this one. That boils down to nothing more than personal preference, so your mileage may vary! My friend and I were looking for a good pizza place in the area, and found &pizza. It's basically one of those build your own pizza places, which I've been to many times before. I like the style and I ended up liking the pizza here as well. I picked one of the laid out options The Dirty Bird, which was a Buffalo style pizza. It was thin, crisp, and had good flavor overall. The food came out super fast as well, cooked perfectly. It was cheap too, around $11 for my meal. It's basically fast food, quality pizza, and that's a compliment. &pizza is always on my list when I'm in the DC area. I'm so happy that we finally have one here in Richmond . My experience today during their grand opening was great. I was greeted by an employee asking if I've been to &pizza before and of course my answer was yes. They had floor placements to enforce social distancing in the line which I appreciated. I ordered a C.Y.O. (craft your own) pizza with traditional dough and a mixture of classic tomato sauce combined with a little basil pesto sauce. My toppings included mozzarella, shredded blend cheese, spinach, mushrooms, roasted red peppers, grilled onions and chicken. My finishes included grated parm-romano and hot honey! I also got the canned mango passion fruit soda and that was very good. Overall this was an amazing first experience at this location and all of the employees were nice. The inside was clean, they offered hand sanitizer at the entrance and masks. The order to pay process was under 10 minutes, which was wonderful. I ordered the New G pizza and swapped out fresh mozzeralla for shredded mozz, and no add ons besides hot pepper flakes. The pizza was baked fast, probably took about 2-3 minutes. I watched it bake right in front of me. The restraunt is the same concept of Blaze pizza pretty much, but &pizza is 10x better than Blaze, and faster. The New G was pretty much a Margherita pizza with a special T sauce added on top, not sure what the sauce was exactly since it baked right into the pizza, I believe it was a bit sweet though. The pizza overall was great! Perfect size for one... or two... I also had one of their specialty sodas. I had the ginger berry lemonade, the staff who recommended it to me said it was not a soda... it Definetly was. The drink the awesome! I opened it an hour ago and can still hear it fizzing. I have not been eating pizza lately, so when I was given the opportunity to try a new place I was excited. The concept reminded me of one of the Seinfeld episodes (where you custom make your pizza). The place was easy to find, with it's bright yellow lettering. The layout of the place was somewhat confusing to a first timer, and the staff seemed bothered by our questions and need for assistance. Customer service could be better. We ordered the custom pizza, mango passion fruit and garlic knots, they all tasted fresh, but mediocre (with the exception of the soda, which was canned and not made there). Woah!!! You need to be trying this pizza spot! This is a welcomed addition to the Willow Lawn/West Endy-y area. I've had it twice since they've opened and I am impressed. Not only do they have a very user friendly app, they offer surprise promos within the virtual wallet, things like free pizza for their grand opening to $5 off pies, etc. My husband and I tried two pies during the first week they were open. Both were hot and generously topped, perfect for sharing but also light enough to be a personal pizza with the thin and crispy crust. Flavors were on point and ingredients were fresh. I got the American honey and the spicy honey drizzle, creamy goat cheese and bright arugula complimented each other well. My husbands meat-lovers type pizza (I forget the name!) was savory and yummy. Next time I tried a make your own and tried to crafted a buffalo chicken of sorts and it was sooo good. The garlic Parmesan sauce and option for different drizzles to top it off, YUM. I'm not a soda person but their unique flavors were so fun and delicious. I got some sort of pear ~elixer~ that was good. This is a great place to get a quick custom pizza. When you walk in, you approach the counter and view the menu on the displays above. They have a number of pizzas on the menu, with options to customize your own as well. The ingredients are behind the glass at the counter for you to see, and (assuming you are ordering a custom pizza) the employee will prompt you to select sauces, meats, and veggie toppings. Even if you select one of the pizzas from the menu, you can customize the toppings. The pizza then goes through the oven, and cooks for several minutes. When it comes out, an employee will help you select additional finishing touches such as a drizzle of sauce, seasonings, or extra cheese. The pizzas are a unique "skateboard" shape, which is the perfect size for one person or two people to share. You end up with a hot, fresh, made-to order pizza, and it's always tasty. The restaurant does offer indoor and outdoor dining space, but I usually take my pizza to go. They have a few other menu items such as garlic knots and cookies, but their main food offering is pizza. It has spicy tomato sauce, hot honey, and red pepper flakes that balances perfectly with the mozzarella, goat cheese, and arugula -- and don't forget, the pepperoni! The only thing I would add is that they need a bit more signage to assist with pick-up orders.
