Scheduling a gutter cleaning was easy. They showed up when they said they would and got the job done fast. It was a little freaky, because to do the job fast they were walking on my roof and you could hear it inside the house! But literally it took them 20 minutes for our home. Obviously the economy is better than I thought. It must be when companies don't even bother to call or show up for their appointments. The windows in my house needed washing. Deperately. I called Anderson to make an appointment to get my windows washed. Simple request, right? I guess not. The guy I spoke to on the phone the first time was efficient but didn't necesarily build my trust- it felt like I was talking to a start up company that had not been in business long. He kept remembering additional charges-$100 service call fee for one and a scraping fee, and a . . .well you get the point. I wasn't reassured that they were not going to nickel and dime me to death but I made the appointment anyway as they had an opening the next day at 12:30 and since I was off of work that day, I took it. On that day, I sat around the house and finally called them at 1:30 to check up on the appointment. The girl who answered the phone this time, after hearing my plight could only mutter "oh wow". Really? How about telling me where the technician was, or when he was going to be there? Nothing. So after I hung up the phone with her, I did another search and came up with Bubbles to handle my window washing needs and they couldn't have done a better job (check out that review) They were amazing in their follow up and follow through. The end of the story? At 6:30 that night, 6 hours after someone was supposed to be at my home I got a message on my phone saying that they couldn't come that day but could the next. Sorry, Anderson. We had Anderson Window and gutter cleaning come out to clean ur gutters on 5/27. They did an excellent job cleaning all the gunk that had been sitting in our gutters for several years. I just recently had my gutters cleaned by Anderson Window and Gutter Cleaning Company, and they did a spectacular job. The customer representative who originally handled my telephone call was very courteous and was able to schedule same-day service. The men who came out to do the work were very polite and were very careful and tidy with the gutter cleaning work. They even found a clogged downspout and flushed it cleaned which was causing considerable flooding which I was having. They call to remind you of your set appointments, they will also call if there were a change in the weather giving you notice that they will not be out, as well as rescheduling you so the work can be done. We had Anderson out to repair our gutters and replace old 3" downspouts with 4". Along with that, they replaced the old underground corrugated from the downspouts with new 4" PVC, added pop up drains and installed new downspout on garage for rain barrel. Overall very neat and tidy workmanship, very respectful and pleasant to work with. They are coming back tomorrow to clean our windows. :-) read more

I had originally had a negative experience with Anderson but, once I brought it to their attention, they acknowledged the problem and offered to make it right by generously compensating me with a redo and additional free services. My original review was 2 stars and started like this: I scheduled an appt for this morning. No one showed up at the scheduled time. I gave it an hour and when I finally called, Anna said they were "about" to call me and reschedule bc the workers had a "family emergency." I rescheduled my own schedule to accommodate for this and am very disappointed. I am sure the service itself is good, based on reviews, but am extremely disappointed in the lack of communication/no show. I rarely write reviews, but as a new mom now and time so limited, this was very frustrating. I then received a call back saying the workers are now on their way out and should be here within the hour. That's awesome. But was left feeling confused.... why would they have needed to call me and reschedule due to a family emergency, when they're now coming out anyway? I'm glad they are on their way, but still... this was an unnecessary Monday morning headache. I'm hoping for a good service so I can edit this review with more positive feedback. AFTER SERVICE: The workers who finally did show came within the hour after Anna told me they were sending workers my way. They were polite and friendly, and completed the work in a timely manner. The windows look good! Although I was disappointed in the initial communication/no show, I appreciate they fixed the mistake and completed the service nicely. read more

1 star would be giving them too much credit. Scheduled a gutter cleaning and was supposed to be done last week. I called to confirm and they didn't even have me in the system. Gave them all of my info again, 2 days before scheduled cleaning. 4 days later and nobody ever showed up or called. I called again this morning and again, nothing in their system. Highly Recommended. With my gutters a season behind on cleaning, and a newly fallen front gutter panel from this past winter's ferocity sticking out like a sore thumb, my poor house was definitely in need of some service and attention. I did some online research and found Anderson out of Downers Grove. I gave 'em a call to confirm that they serviced the Oak Brook area and set up an appointment very easily over the phone. Being my first time using their services, I left work in the middle of the day so I could at least meet their crew at my house to get the cleaning started and point out what I needed to have done. That being said, the Anderson crew took care of all the details, hauling away the "gutter junk" and re-affixing the fallen panel. When they completed the job, they left the invoice in the mailbox. It took three appointments to get the guy to come out and give me an estimate on gutter repair and when he did it was pretty low. (First two red flags) I decided to schedule the repair anyway because he was the only company who showed up to do an estimate. I got a call from the woman who works in the office that the crew needed to come out to look at the job, even though the estimator had been there. (Third red flag) Two guys came over and said they couldn't do the job on the day it was scheduled and that they had to re-estimate the job, which turned out to be more than three times the first estimate. (How many red flags are we up to now?) The crew came out at 7 am this past Wednesday, did the work which turned out not to be as extensive as it could have been, cleaned up extremely well after themselves, and gave me the final bill which came in between the two estimates. All in all, I would recommend this company and use them again if I need to. read more

I used Anderson to clean the gutters on my 2 story home. Website looked good, and the service seemed very complete. They apparently received a Super Service Award in 2009 from Angie's List. My gutters were last cleaned a few years ago when I had the roof re-shingled, and needed cleaning. (And I wasn't going up on the roof to do it myself.) My wife was home for the service call, and they arrived at about the time they said. So far, so good. They (2 guys) go up on the roof and start cleaning. However, they really didn't clean up the debris afterward, saying they don't clean up the sandy shingle particles. Not the same thing as mentioned on the website which said they "load all the debris on our truck and take it away". Then they left. As soon as they left my wife realized that they never cleaned the gutters on the back side of the house. She called and complained to the office. To their credit, the guys came back, cleaned the rest of the gutters, and were very apologetic. They even cleaned up some of the debris this time. Still, the experience was a poor one. How did they not know they didn't clean all the gutters? Was this carelessness, incompetence, deliberate? I don't know. In the end they did the work so no harm no foul. However, we won't be using them again. read more

This is what I wrote to the company on a contact form on their site, irked! I just wanted to let you know that I am extremely disappointed in your company. We used you a few years ago and liked your work. We were scheduled for work yesterday (6/19/2014) and our appointment time was 8:15 AM. At 9:15 I called to see where your guys were. I was put on hold while your girl called the "contractors". They did not come because of the impending rain (it didn't rain here BTW) I was told. It was rescheduled today (6/20) for 8:15. Again, no show, NO CALL! I called this afternoon for curiosity's sake, and was told there was no appointment today, and that their record showed that I canceled yesterday! I left a message for Tim, and the girl said, I left a message for Ben (I believe she was covering her ass, and forgot which Anderson I left the message for the first time). Terrible customer service. We also run our own business and I would want to know if someone from our business was inadequate. So here it is. Business must be good, or your employees just don't care. BTW I was scheduled last week when it did rain, and was told that they were going to call back and reschedule. Never got the call. I called back. I was a fool. As a 20 year firefighter, I have to believe that you did not know any of this. Just an FYI. We did schedule another window washer and gutter company to come out, after missing 2 mornings of work waiting for Anderson. I scheduled for Anderson to come and clean out the gutters and wash the outside of 3 large windows at the front of the house. The crew did the windown, and one of them checked the gutters, finding only one was clogged. He said he released the clog and it was working fine as were all the other gutters. After the heavy rains of the past weekend I checked the same "clogged" gutter and it was full of water to the brim the entire length, indicating the problem of the clogged drain was not solved. I called today and left a VM message requesting they return at no additional charge since my original $100. was not well spent, and the original problem is still present with the gutter.. read more

I have used Anderson for the past few years at both area homes we have owned. Both homes have 40 foot high rooflines and is not a DIY thing for me. Last year at our new home in Wheaton, the crew discovered a device the former home owner placed in the downspouts that caused back ups and rotting vegetation and caused a terrible odor in our home. It is a messy job, but the crew removed all the debris and used blowers to clean up. Great Job - Highly Recommended! read more

They cleaned the gutters on a two story home and on the garage. They cleaned the gutters with a leaf blower and by hand. The wet, soggy leaves were placed in a bucket and taken to the street for the city to pick-up. There were not any globs or mounds of leaves left on the ground. We called them repeatedly to do gutter cleaning and they just don't show up. When they finally did, they placed electric coils on the roof and one of them fell off but I'm sure if we call them to fix it, they won't. We had them placed inside our gutters instead after we later found out that placing coils on the roof itself was a fire hazard!!! read more

Prior to today, I would have rated this company a 4-5 star. I have been a repeat customer for several years and have used their window cleaning & gutter cleaning services in multiple homes. During the appointment scheduled for today, I received a call that the cost they had previously performed services for was incorrect and that the cost is actually TRIPLE what they quoted me (again, I am a repeat customer...they have been to my home multiple times! Nothing has changed on my side). When I spoke to the office, I was essentially told to "take it or leave it" with no attempt to make the situation right or provide any concession given the fact that the error had been on their side. Clearly, their definition of customer service has changed and I was appalled at the approach they took to a repeat customer. Very disappointing. read more

I needed gutter repair. I called Anderson to ask for an estimate for gutter repair. They never made an appointment with me and never called with an estimate. They said they were going to drive by to see the damage and call me for an estimate however I had service men over yesterday trying to clean my gutters. I'm part of an association I cannot approve any estimate without the boards consent. I had to tell the service men to go home that I never approved a cleaning nor' did I need one I needed a repair. I spoke to Anderson today and they said I did approve a cleaning which I know was not true because I had three other professionals approach my complex with estimates FOR REPAIR and they were all told I needed approval from the association board before I could consent to a repair! To add insult to injury Anderson hung up on me today when I told them I did not appreciate how unprofessional they were. read more
