I love Anderson's for the friendly staff, good food, and clean atmosphere. I haven't visited a location yet and found myself disappointed. (I will admit though, once or twice the dining room has been a bit overlooked, but as soon as I go to the counter and let them know, someone is sent right out to tidy up). I am a huge fan of the hot turkey on kimmelwick, (I know, I know, who doesn't order roast beef here?!) I'm very picky about my turkey (it can't be that slimey deli stuff!) and Anderson's does it right. It's hot, fresh, and delicious. And it's all even better on kimmelwick with honey mustard and lettuce. And the ice cream! From the custard to the hard ice cream to the ice cream cakes and other frozen treats, I love their selection. My favorites are the birthday cake arctic swirl and the ice cream cakes in the freezer. For special occasions, I'll pop in and grab a ready made cake and I've never had a complaint. I love that delicious chocolate crunchy middle with fudge! Overall, a great place for a meal - eat in or take out - for all ages. Lines can get long in the summer (especially after a youth baseball game ends!), but they usually move fairly quickly and it's totally worth it! read more

I got a baked potato about a week ago and found hair in my food so I got a free one but I went back today and got another baked postal and found another hair in my food. And on top of that they mad it wrong and when I asked them to put cheese and chives on it they said I would have to pay for it because I didn't order it right! Im never going here again rude workers. A Buffalo classic! Never disappoints but has gotten a bit pricey over the years, I think.

I just realized that although I've been eating at Anderson's for DECADES I have NEVER reviewed it. Very, very strange. I've been here for lunch, for dinner, and for ice cream after my children's sporting events and school concerts. It's a family tradition for us. The roast beef is quite flavorful....especially on a kimmelweck roll with horseradish. I get it well done and it's still very juicy and tender.... not an easy thing to do. The turkey sandwiches are wonderful (especially on a hard roll with mayo, lettuce, and tomatoes). And, the curly fries are WONDERFUL! There are different special flavors of frozen custard each day (with the listing available on-line). My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE is the cinnamon..... super yum!!! But, when that's not available, a sugar cone with chocolate-vanilla twist is a not-so-distant second best. read more

Anderson's has vegan ice cream now! Not only is it vegan, it's also delicious! There are two flavors available: chocolate raspberry and coconut chocolate almond. It was so yummy! I highly recommend it to vegans and non-vegans! I'm really impressed, Anderson's! read more

Fast hot sandwiches and really great ice cream and custards! This time out we tried the Italian roast beef which was mediocre, roast beef that was better as it was sauced, the chili was tasty if a bit to sweet. The desserts are the real reason to stop here and why it's still pulling a 4 Star from me, next time I'll skip the meal I think! read more

A quick meal with lots of menu choices! I ordered a baked sweet potato and a veggie burger. There was a nice selection of salads that could also be ordered vegetarian. My companion ordered the Carl's roast beef on weck, curly fries and a salad, while the friend ordered the chicken in the grass and a baked potato with broccoli. The sweet potatoes were roasting and would be about another fifteen minutes. None of us were in a rush, so we opted to go ahead with our order. Our food order was actually out in twelve minutes, and my baked sweet potato was worth the wait. My veggie burger was good but if I hadn't added on mustard, lettuce and tomato, it would have been just another, nothing special, vegetarian offering. The companion's five ounce beef on weck was warm, thinly sliced but a tad on the dry side. Ketchup and horseradish helped cure that. The salad was fresh and his fries, hot and relatively crispy; he requested crispy. The friend enjoyed her chicken in the grass, and stated the chicken was moist, and the baked potato perfectly baked with a firm skin. I know it's Anderson's, and we're supposed to order ice cream treats but we were full. I was going to take home a pint of their wonderful sugar-free soft serve but they stopped making it, and have replaced it with a Greek yogurt soft serve that none of us particularly loved. The other special favors included a key lime custard and a grape ice. All in all, a great stop for a good quality, fast meal, and now to the movies! read more

From out of town. Was told to try Anderson's for their roast beef and kimmelwek rolls and the Loganberry shake. I really liked the roll perfect balance of a soft roll and yummy salt on top the meat was tender too. The shake was a classic milk shake. Pretty sweet tasting but the salt from the roll balanced it out. Fun trying what the locals eat. read more

Why is this not 5 stars from everyone? For a fast food place this place is great. I'm here on vacation from Southern California. If this place was plopped down in Orange County it would be a big success immediately. Please open one (or 20) here. My suggestion is to put one in the City of Orange. I had a Salmon burger and sweet potato fries!!!! It was good. My wife had a hot dog and Hungarian mushroom soup. We had vanilla Ice cream for desert. They use high quality natural ingredient for about everything. Service was efficient. Very clean and friendly. Good variety of food items plus ice cream treats, etc. Too bad we found this place on the last day of our vacation. We're on a plane to California tomorrow morning. read more

Anderson's has the best roast beef hands down. The kimmlewick roll has just the right amount of salt and caraway seeds and the beef is so tender. If you feel like going overboard with food try the chili cheese fries, they're so good. I know they are known for their custard but try the cookie ice cream sandwich. Beautiful day, so my husband and I stopped by for some frozen custard and ice cream. DIRTY!!! So bad, I'll not go back! The ordering counter was covered with ice cream drops, slops, sprinkles. Napkin dispensers were empty, so I couldn't even wipe up for them. There were half filled cups and cones lying on their sides under the soft serve dispensers. While I can understand that busy days can yield untidiness, the grime built up on the floors was far beyond a day's worth. Food is ok when you actually get what you order and is on your receipt . NEVER ORDER TAKE OUT WITHOUT DOUBLE AND TRIPLE CHECKING (open the wrappers too). Just can't seem to get a take out food order right. Second time in a row I have gone without my Dinner. Going to Charlie the Butcher in Williamsville from now on. For the prices here at this overrated,crowded place , you should be getting the best of everything . Asked for a milkshake here for my son made with hard ice cream and milk (imagine that) instead of a disgusting custard "milkshake". The cost was over 5 dollars , and I got an attitude about it. Excellent-ate here while up in Buffalo for my daughters graduation and ate here when we lived in Williamsville in 1987. This place is great-I got Carls Choice and it was not a quality beef on weck like the Anchor Bar but very good and added cheddar. The fries were as always good from what I recalled and be sure to get seasoned ones-not plain. My son had chicken tenders which he said were good-will take his word-he is picky. Its great for what you want from a quick "fast food" place and 100 steps above the usual fast food BS-Why does Buffalo even have such garbage outposts such as Wendys and McDonalds anyway? It was crowded but lines moved fast and eating outdoors on a nice day is best. God Buffalo has some of the greatest places to eat in this country! Made it in after having dinner at Rocco's tonight 4 minutes before closing time, and was surprised to be greeted with smiles from the friendly staff. I asked for a recommendation for 1st timers, but who can go wrong with homemade custard and homemade ice cream! I love dessert, especially ice cream, so we had a scoop of chocolate peanut butter ice cream and a scoop of kahlua fudge chocolate...it was a nice portioned scoop too! Jessel had chocolate custard. Choice of cone or dish, we got all ours in a dish. Then one of the employees came up to the register and made a funny hehehe, he had ice cream on his face and made Jessel laugh and then I laughed of course! =P I did ask about some good New York Cheesecake, but unfortunately no recommendations =( still 5 stars for excellent service and awesome tasting ice cream/custard homemade deliciousncess!!! Love Anderson's, definitely one of my stops every time I visit Buffalo. I never stray from the beef on weck with horseradish. The curly fries were a bit undercooked for my liking. A friend if mine had the Ida, with mashed potatoes and other goodness - it was awesome. I've only had one of their desserts and its the loganberry milkshake - it's the best. read more

you need to teach your employees how to make a ice cream cone. i ordered a hard ice cream double scope and received the worst double scope i have ever seen. my wife ordered a single scope and i think she received more than i did. i did not want to cause a problem with other people waiting in line , but after i left i was really upset with the cone i received for what i had to pay for it. john c. read more

This place probably has the best Beef on Weck in all of New York State. I have been going to Anderson's for years and have never had a bad experience.
