Gluten-free pasta, AMAZING food, entertaining, friendly server, authentic Italian. Our server spoke Italian and was thrilled that I remembered about 5 phrases from my college days. She has a fairly thick accent but is understandable and just a funny and friendly personality. The rest of the staff, or much of it, also speaks Italian, so I believe it is now family-run. We all got different dishes and none of us were disappointed. I absolutely adore Bolognese, so that's what I always get the first time I go to a proper Italian restaurant, but my friend got the Cioppino and I'm getting that the next time I go (tomorrow), because that was full of seafood and looked absolutely scrumptious. The other two members of our party got ravioli and one of the creamy pasta dishes and we were all completely sated and stuffed with no room for dessert. I'm gluten-free (low-level celiac) and my only feedback would be to make sure GF options show on their online menu. I had to call to ask because I really wanted to go here due to how close it is to where I live and their dishes. They are not the only Italian restaurant that doesn't post GF options online but has them in the restaurant and they are doing a disservice to themselves. They could get more customers ordering take-out or coming in if that was clearly stated. :) read more

Andiamo is cozy and quiet and they do their best to help make you feel comfortable. The food is excellent and the service quick. Thank you for accommodating our party! (One drawback, though: this restaurant could feel so much more relaxed for an evening out, if the maitre d' didn't yell at you bombastically, like he was a barker for a carnival show. Even when we politely asked him to tone his voice down, he just kept yelling. That might have been his way of being outgoing, but it just detracts from a quiet, intimate restaurant like this. ) read more

I ordered dinner for 10-15 people for a birthday party. We had salmon pasta, misto salad and bruschetta. The food was ready for pickup at exactly the time requested. Christian helped me carry it to my car. There was plenty of food, and it was delicious, particularly the pasta. I froze the leftovers which were still yummy when thawed days later. Absolutely terrible & proof provided! Walked into restaurant at 6:15pm, waited 5 mins for these two waiters to acknowledge us standing at the front door. Once they did, the waiter asked did I have reservations. Said no, went to check (right in front of us), other waiter whispered something to him, came back within seconds and said they were all booked for the rest of the night. What the.....?!?! Opened Yelp and reservations available, see proof in picture. Also made a reservation to make sure nothing "wrong" with the Yelp and got a confirmation and everything. Mhmmm. Came here on a whim because we were nearby and I was craving pasta. It is a small, quaint authentic feeling restaurant. The server was friendly and Italian. They have a great selection of pastas. We ended up ordering the meatballs and smoked salmon farfalle to share. 2 stars only because the farfalle pasta was so overly salted that by the end we could barely finish it. This place doesn't deserve the 1 or 2 star reviews it receives. We had good service and good food. Ordered Pesto chicken pasta, clam linguine. Both decent but clams were very tiny - like about the same volume as a corn kernel. Maybe this is a seasonal thing Otherwise the pasta, white wine garlic sauce and were on point. Pesto chicken pasta was a good portion and good. Slightly above average wait times for food and seating despite a reservation. Waiter kept the bread coming which was great, professional service and offered complementary desserts. To the owners: a $15 appetizer was left off our bill by accident, we didn't notice until the next day. The table check to bill processes may need refinement. read more

He asked the entire table where each person was from and when we asked him the same he turned it into a conversation about how offended he was that someone would ask, came back MULTIPLE times to a table he wasn't serving to continue talking about how long he's lived in Washington, it doesn't matter where he's from etc etc. the first 3 times he said it I apologized and explained I was only reciprocating the question as he had asked all of us the same. When you enter you just know, the "feeling" of the intimate tables well appointed with color, light, warmth....it all just feels RIGHT......like you have come home to a real neighborhood restaurant that is upscale and down-home at the same time. And what can I say about Christian? our favorite person ever, who greets us so enthusiastically and helps us feel like royal family welcomed back. And the food? I had lobster ravioli, saffron creme sauce, the special and it was delectable. Every meal I have had there has been delicious. I honestly wasn't sure I wanted to write this review, as I don't want it to get too busy! It's just the best for an intimate dinner with one, 3, or our whole family reunion of 15 was well-served and made fantastic memories there too. Parking is easy in the garage. It's like a jewel in Bellevue, a place we can't wait to go back to. My sister and I often invite new and return guests and it has ALWAYS been a superb, memorable experience. read more

Walked in at 6pm on a Thursday with a friend. We were asked if we had a reservation, we said no. Interior was empty except one party. They told us they could seat us outside which was fine, but reading prior reviews I'm very confused as to how they operate since it doesn't require reservations and it seems others have been turned away stating they're booked. The wine/cocktails were great, service was attentive and kind. Bread with oil and vinegar was delicious. I ordered the spicy calamari appetizer which was just ok, seemed very bland. For the entree I got the seafood risotto which was truly the worst risotto I have had. I'm extremely confused by this classic Italian restaurant. It lacked flavor, the rice was hard, there was no salt, and all of the seafood tasted mushy and smelled off. I ate about a quarter of it then took it home and later threw it away, I'm not exactly in the habit of sending something back or speaking up about it but this was bad enough that I probably should have. The saving grace was the dessert- the panna cotta was absolutely delicious. In addition, our waiter was very polite and kind. This is not a place I plan to return to though as it was very unwelcoming to walk into and the food does not seem up to par. read more

First time visiting Andiamo. Can't say we were BLOWN away, but we weren't disappointed. Pros: Food was good. I had the Carbonara which was quite tasty. I typically like the traditional version, that doesn't use a cream sauce, but the sauce in the Carbonara was excellent. I sopped up all the sauce with the bread!d Wife had the Scapelini with shrimp and crab. Tons of shrimp, but not so much on the crab. She had to dig to find any crab. Sauce was good, but maybe a little heavy on the lemon. Service was very good. I think we Alex or was it Alexi? Anyway, the gentleman was very attentive and our glasses were never empty. Food arrived fast and hot. Tables were set with beautiful white linens and sparkling glasses and stem ware. Well done! Cons: For an Italian restaurant, the ambiance is pretty non-existant. Other than a few Italian prints on the walls and maybe the smell of pasta, you would never know you were in an Italian restaurant. I think the music playing might have been Top 40 hits. NOTE to MGMT: You have a gem of a restaurant, all be it a diamond in the rough. With the great food on your menu, you have a great foundation for building a "go to" restaurant. Add some ambiance. Make it romantic. Make your patrons feel like they are stepping in to a small eatery in Italy. This is real deal Italian food that appears to be run by a couple brothers from Italy. It taste very good and it offers much more pizzazz than you get from most Italian restaurants in the area. My friend and I came here for dinner and was easily able to get a seat out on the small patio area. Though the staff was very nice and attentive the food didn't compare to the great service. The menu has many classic Italian and pasta dishes, as well as other more unique Italian items that aren't as popular. They also have a good wine list with many from Italy. We started with a white wine and a lemon drop and complimentary bread with olive oil and balsamic. I really like white wine sauces so decided on the Chicken Piccata while my friend ordered the Seafood Cappellini. It didn't take long for our food to come, and the server asked if we'd like parmesan, which he grated/topped on our dishes. The Chicken Piccata was fine - it had lots of lemon and white wine sauce flavor, which I really liked, but felt that it was not worth $24, as the dish didn't seem to wow me or have any of that special pizzazz - which would make this Chicken Piccata stand out from others I've had. It seemed like a common dish, but overpriced. On the sides were vegetables and pasta, which both were too oily for my liking. My friend's Seafood Cappellini dish however, looked really appetizing and she really enjoyed her meal. But it also came at a steep price of $29. It's hard to justify coming back with the high prices of the food, especially for average Chicken Piccata. But they have a full bar, patio seating and friendly staff making this an A-O-K place. read more

Great meal! My partner and I were so full at the end, we could barely fit dessert. I took the rest of my pasta (capellini with shrimp and crab) home, which tasted even better the next day. It was VERY light as they noted on the menu, so if you want something tastier, go for something else. But in general my partner and I enjoyed the lightness of the meal. Pasta can tend to get very heavy, and this made it easier to eat and didnt make us feel oily at the end! The tiramisu was also very fluffy, qnd you could taate the delicate notes of espresso and liquor, not so much chocolate. No complaints about the food. The service was good. I'm a no frills person, so we just flagged down a server when we needed anything. Our waters were usually filled and such, and a server ran after me when I forgot something. The place is cute and small! It didn't seem too busy that night, so my friend and I chatted for quite a while. They didn't say anything, but I hope it was okay. We made sure to give a bigger tip. I have to note that the italian soda is just a pellegrino, which isn't bad, it's just not the soda I was expecting (like the syrup and cream and sugared rim...) I don't remember how much they actually charged us as I try not to think about costs on dates, but that stuff was $6 on the menu. So just curb your expectations if you wanted that non-alcoholic drink. Parking is unclear. There is street parking, but don't count on it. Theres a garage in the same building that you can apparently validate at the restaraunt. Careful because some of the other garages (all paid) close earlier than you might stay for your meal. I give it a five stars for my experience, but it's more of a cozy place than a classy one, if that is what you're looking for. read more

Overall I was disappointed. We ordered for takeout tonight and when the food arrived it was packaged in styrofoam and then wrapped in plastic. It was an unreasonable amount of plastic and that reason alone would keep me from ordering. I ordered the smoked salmon pasta. The salmon was not smoked, and had very little taste. On top of that, there were huge chunks of undercooked bell peppers in it. It was the weirdest pasta dish I've ever had. My dad ordered the carbonara which turned out great. It was smoky, creamy, and just the way it should be. This was the silver lining of the meal. Then for dessert, we ordered the creme brûlée. Brûlée by definition has burnt sugar on top. This was more like Jello brand custard with strawberry syrup on top. No burnt sugar. For the price this was nowhere near what it should've been. If you want Italian, try Ristorante Paradiso. read more

Andiamo is great! As mentioned in previous reviews, it is under new management. Keep in mind that they no longer accept reservations via OpenTable, though are accommodating when calling in. The food is higher quality than what other reviews suggest. Trust me, I am one who doesn't always stray away from my main restaurants, but this place is amazing. Christian is from Rome, and provides such a touch of Italy to this place. We will definitely be coming back! read more

A friend and I were staying at a nearby hotel and asked the concierge for names of restaurants in the neighborhood. Andiamo was one of them, so we decided to try it. So glad that we did! The food was wonderful from start to finish. We shared the roasted beet salad, which was ample for two people, and the bread with olive oil dip was superb. She had the cozze e vongole (mussels and clams) as her entree; even though it is listed as an appetizer, she found it was more than enough for a meal. I had the ravioli aurora, which came with the most delicious sauce, and there was enough so that she could have a few as well. For dessert we shared the tiramasu. The waitstaff was attentive, conscientious and really charming. This is a small place and it got pretty boisterous at times, but not so loud that we couldn't hold a normal conversation. This restaurant is under new management and I am totally impressed. The place has a wonderful cheery and clean ambiance and the food was truly outstanding. I loved the pear and Gorgonzola salad and followed up with a generous portion of pasta putinesca. The service was excellent. The server, Christian was exuberant and entertaining and added so much joy to our evening. We were a table of 6 and I loved that it was a round table. Others enjoyed lobster ravioli (which was a special). The mussels were in a to die for broth, and my spouse had the largest paella I have ever seen - full of seafood.
