The flavors were well balanced and easy to enjoy from the first sip to the last. The coffee menu was thoughtfully curated, and the staff were friendly and helpful. A great spot for anyone who appreciates high-quality specialty coffee. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other offerings. read more

With plenty of seating, it makes for the perfect place to stay a while and get productive. I didn't love the drink I got. It looks like they're more known for their coffee, but I opted for a Strawberry Matcha. The strawberries were definitely real which I appreciated, but the matcha was lacking. This place is in downtown bellevue, spacious although with limited seats, but has a nice aesthetic. We tried to order on the tablet but realized not the full menu was on there (i.e. missing some specialty coffee options that were on the printed menu) so we ended up ordering at the counter. Coffee seems pretty pricey and I wasn't too impressed with quality but it was decent; I would come back to try something else. I ordered a cappuccino but somehow it had a slightly tart/acidic flavor to it and wasn't completely smooth. But also tried the honeycomb latte and that was very nicely sweetened - could taste a faint honey flavor while it was perfectly lightly sweetened (for me that means barely sweet - but might be not sweet enough for the general palate) - but the coffee flavor pretty weak. I appreciate that they still use real mugs as I've seen a lot of places phase out to just disposable cups for both to-go and dine-in. read more

The coffee leans pretty bitter, and honestly, it feels like one of those places where people equate burnt or strong flavors with "good" coffee. I was a little surprised by all the hype. It's also on the pricier side, and while the service was fine, the baristas came off a bit stuck up. There's ample seating and parking validation for the parking garage. I got a strawberry matcha latte & pinwheel pastry, $15 total. The pinwheel was crunchy on the outside and more soft in the center, with the right amount of sweetness. There are plenty of tables and seating, but only one aesthetic area. Story Coffee is one of my favorite coffee houses on the East Side. It's conveniently located in downtown Bellevue, across from the Bravern. The menu has some interesting options that are more fusion as well as pour overs. But I usually stick to my usual, a cortado, and enjoy the version here (see pic). There are some pastries as well, which I haven't tried yet. The place is usually busy, but I find it quiet and relaxing and a good place to chat or do some work. Service has been pleasant and quick and I find myself coming back whenever I'm in the area. read more

Stopped by for a matcha latte. I ordered and was pleasantly surprised by all the milk/milk alternative ans syrup options you had! They even asked if you wanted more/less ice. I ordered mine with soy milk and less sweet, and it was good. I just wish I could taste the matcha a bit more, but i think it may have been my choice of milk. Nice coffee shop nestled just off 405, across from the Bravern in Bellevue. The shop is cute and the service was efficient and friendly. Lots of unique specialty drink options that I'm interested in trying again. Today's choice was their chai latte, which was amazingly delicious. It was so good, I had one with soy and went back for a second with almond milk. (I preferred the soy as it creamier and hotter.) The chai had a nice kick to it, so yummy on a winter day. Bathrooms are convenient and clean. You bus your own table here, the drop zone is clean and frequently cleared. Very tidy. The cons: wish there were more couches and comfort seating. Parking can be confusing- park in the Alley garage where there's a 3 hour validation. Since our coffee date went long, I ended up paying $16 for parking which was disappointing. Spots are small so bring the compact car for ease of navigation. For your furry companions, dogs are allowed in the cafe. Due to location, I'm not sure I'd find myself here again as it's more convenient to those who live or work nearby. However, I like the uniqueness and prefer this to the big box stores any day. read more

Since my hotel was near here, I visited this cafe 4 times during my stay. There's plenty of seating but on weekends, it may be hard to find a seat. They have wifi so it's a nice place to get a drink and work. I tried the following drinks: - Toffee Honeycomb Latte (4.5/5): Not only is this aesthetic but also is quite good! You have to give it some time for the honeycomb to melt into the latte; otherwise, the latte is unsweetened. You can also eat the honeycomb although it's a bit hard to do when it's in the drink. - Turtle Latte (4.5/5) : With elements of toffee, caramel, and chocolate, this drink tasted great! It reminded me of a mocha because of the chocolate but still had a strong coffee flavor. - Matcha Latte (4/5): Solid matcha latte! When I ordered, the employee asked if I wanted to add sweetener, to which I said no. If you don't add sweetener, it is more on the bitter side since it's just pure matcha and milk, but the matcha flavor is good. - Peppermint Mocha (1/5): Would not order this again. Barely tasted like a mocha and barely had peppermint flavor. Was quite disappointing. I also tried the Orange Hazelnut Pinwheel pastry. They toasted it for me. It was a bit too sweet and didn't really taste like orange. Overall, they have decent coffee/matcha but they are a bit pricey.
