cozy and cute coffee shop located in at alley 111 in downtown, bellevue. i ordered the iced black sesame latte (oat milk + an extra shot of espresso) on two occasions and they were consistently good on both days. i like how the drink wasn't sweet and had a more subtle flavor. overall, it was a smooth drink. they also had bookmark magnets from a small business, which were so cute so ofc i had to get one! everyone here was friendly and helpful when we had questions about which roast to pick! would def recommend this spot to study, work, or read. such a nice vibe in general. read more

Coffee is strong and excellent. The sesame cream is subtle, not too sweet and the oat milk to espresso ratio is perfect. Overall very smooth, silky, and bold coffee taste with a secondary delicious hint of sesame. The service is very quick and easy to order from the iPad but it did not give a description of each coffee blend so I had to ask the barista. He was a bit cold and transactional and he sort of ignored me with his back turned when I told him I had a quick question. Anyways I got the cozy blend which is less fruity than the Ethiopia blend after confirming with the barista. There are plenty of chairs outdoor and indoor with a comfy sofa in the back. I appreciated the convenient parking alley behind the building, and the cafe offers parking validation as well. The space is quite large; I visited around 9 am ish on a Sunday and was surprised it wasn't very crowded. I was actually hoping for a crowd atmosphere, but the quiet ended up being nice. They also offer pastries, though I only ordered a regular 12 oz latte. The drink came out quickly, and service was decent overall. Flavor wise, the coffee has a noticeably fruity profile somewhat similar to Fulcrum Coffee, though the beans are clearly different. If you enjoy bright, fruit-forward coffee or are a fan of Fulcrum, you'll probably like it. Personally, fruity coffee is not really my preference, so I thought the latte was decent but not something I would go out of my way to order again. I also would have appreciated more polished latte art, as the drink felt closer to a home-barista latte than a cafe quality one. read more

We were in Bellevue and decided to try out Story Coffee because of some recommendations from friends. The cafe is very clean and welcoming, with lots of different seating options. This place is in downtown bellevue, spacious although with limited seats, but has a nice aesthetic. We tried to order on the tablet but realized not the full menu was on there (i.e. missing some specialty coffee options that were on the printed menu) so we ended up ordering at the counter. Coffee seems pretty pricey and I wasn't too impressed with quality but it was decent; I would come back to try something else. I ordered a cappuccino but somehow it had a slightly tart/acidic flavor to it and wasn't completely smooth. But also tried the honeycomb latte and that was very nicely sweetened - could taste a faint honey flavor while it was perfectly lightly sweetened (for me that means barely sweet - but might be not sweet enough for the general palate) - but the coffee flavor pretty weak. I appreciate that they still use real mugs as I've seen a lot of places phase out to just disposable cups for both to-go and dine-in. read more

Absolutely delicious!! We had the honeycomb latte, which I saw was recommended by other reviews, and it definitely did not disappoint! I like my espresso strong and dislike overly sweet drinks -- the honeycomb latte was PERFECT at balancing the sweetness of the honeycomb without overpowering the flavor of the espresso. The latte art was also a nice touch! Workers were kind and patient while we tried to figure out what we wanted, which I'm super grateful for since I'm definitely a bit indecisive! There was a lot of seating throughout the cafe and even some tables set up outside. There are outlets and wifi available, so it would be a nice place to get things done. While it was initially quiet when we first arrived, the space filled up quickly, to the point that even the outside tables were occupied. The coffee leans pretty bitter, and honestly, it feels like one of those places where people equate burnt or strong flavors with "good" coffee. I was a little surprised by all the hype. I tried the iced strawberry matcha and a warmed blueberry scone. The matcha had a nice balance between the earthy tea and strawberry syrup without being overly sweet, and the scone was the standout- perfectly warmed, packed with plump blueberries, and just the right amount of sweetness. Story Coffee is one of my favorite coffee houses on the East Side. It's conveniently located in downtown Bellevue, across from the Bravern. The menu has some interesting options that are more fusion as well as pour overs. But I usually stick to my usual, a cortado, and enjoy the version here (see pic). There are some pastries as well, which I haven't tried yet. The place is usually busy, but I find it quiet and relaxing and a good place to chat or do some work.
