I've been to the original Andia's location before so it was nice to see that they moved somewhere with more convenient parking. Andia's is the only place I can confidently find Ube ice cream. There's lots of unique flavors to choose from which is why I ended up buying 6 pints. They are a bit pricey at about $12/pint but since I never come out to Cary, it was worth it. The shop is clean and well-lit. There's plenty of seating as well. The restroom in Andia's is clean and well stocked. The staff were helpful with questions I had about a discount for ordering 6 pints (there were no discounts which is a bummer). I've reviewed Andia's before 2 years ago and it was top tier. I've visited many times since and it remains good ice cream, but what I experienced this visit definitely has me second guessing. First I wasn't greeted and as I waited in line others were. Let's chalk that up to busyness. It was about 5:00 on a grid afternoon. Not crowded. The first thing I noticed was a roach crawling up the wall. I pointed it out to the servers once I got up to the counter but just a blank stare. I asked about the sanitation rating and they said they didn't need one because the ice cream is made off site. Well that was disconcerting because I feel a place still needs to be evaluated if they SERVE food. You can have plenty of unsanitary practices. Then I had a token for a free scoop and wanted to make it a double so I agreed to pay the difference 2 dollars and some change ( because a double is $8 +. They said I had to pay $6 for another scoop. So technically I would've been paying $12 instead of $8. That makes no sense. I just said forget it and got the flight. Got in the car and took a bit and then noticed THE HAIR. Yup. Right in the ice cream. So I took it back and asked for a refund. The roach, the service, the hair....I was done. She asked me didn't I just want a different cup...No. She issued the refund. No apology. So I'm done with this location for sure. They were teens so maybe just better training is needed. Also hairnets may be necessary as well. read more

Andia's was so delicious! I was visiting for the week and this was one of the top places on my list. I am so glad I made time to come here because it did not disappoint. They have so many flavors to choose from, and I went with oreo latte and couch potato. Oreo latte was like a coffee icecream with oreo mixed in, and couch potato was a brown sugar ice cream with chocolate covered potato chips - so good! I definitely enjoyed the coffee better, as the brown sugar flavor was a little sweet for me. We were very excited to try the creme brulee ice cream and the other flavors but were disappointed. The French vanilla did not have much flavor. The space is clean and well-lit. There are lots of pictures and history stories about Andia that I read over while waiting in line. Depending on the day there could be a line out the door, but it's worth waiting for. I love it! There are also dairy-free options that I've yet to try. It smells wonderful here! You immediately smell waffle cones as soon as you walk in. The menu is full of different flavor and topping options. Sprinkles are free, however the additional toppings are $1 each. I ordered the Carolina Comfort flavor. The scooper was very friendly when assisting me with my order. The ice cream was good but the chocolate cake within the ice cream was a bit dry. I received a offer for a free waffle cone when I checked in the location on Yelp. I was told the offer was from a few years ago and is no longer valid. I saw a video about Andia's and I've been wanting to try it since! We came on Father's Day and there was a deal for free ice cream so the line was very long. It gave us time to look at the flavors and figure out what we wanted. By the time we reached the front we still couldn't decide, so we went with the sampler which gives 6 mini scoops. It ended up being perfect and gave the two of us a chance to get a taste of 12 flavors. Out of the ones we had, we really liked Oreo latte, brownie batter, mint chip and strawberry. Excellent ice cream from a small business! It was my first time so I wanted to try several flavors to get an idea of their style. They had just the thing for that: a sampler flight! I've been to so many better ice cream shops, and Two Roosters in Raleigh is a lot better. The line can be long so expect to wait outside. They only allow two samples, which is fair. I tried the double dark chocolate and malted twix. I liked the caramel in the twix one, but the chocolate just wasn't dark enough. I ended up getting the butter'd beer float because I love Harry Potter. The scoopers are so precise it's annoying. They have scales to weigh the ice cream. There really wasn't that much ice cream in the float, but the marshmallow on top was good. I feel like it's pricier than other ice cream shops, and the ice cream isn't as good. A note about the line management - each worker only scoops for one party, which ends up backing up the line and causing people behind you to get their ice cream before you in some cases. There were 4 people in front of us that had one person getting their ice cream. My husband and I then had another person. The single person behind us had another person, and of course, was served before us or the party in front of us. It just makes no sense! It slows everything down. I might be willing to try this place again and get actual scoops, but it certainly won't be at the top of my list. read more

This place is very popular and well known. They also make some unique ice cream creations and have some interesting flavors. We will try and revisit before we fly back home in a few days. They can get busy so they only allow two samples of ice cream at a time. Otherwise you can order a flight. Such smooth and creamy ice cream! On a food side quest, my bestie and I headed over to Andia's after lusting after them for months on IG. It did not disappoint! There were a few people in the shop at the time and we were taken care of quickly and patiently: I tried the ube and gingerbread but ultimately we both got holiday flavors. Two of my friends and I decided to split a flight and it was the best decision of my life. We also got a few samples of flavors and the person talking to us was fully SELLING the flavors- and they lived up to the (his) hype. All the flavors we tried were incredibly creamy, not cloyingly sweet, and very balanced. I love the branding of Andia's, the interior is super cute. I don't think there was any indoor seating, but there are benches in the shopping area and a few tables outside. The flavors we got: 1. Lemon Poppyseed: 10.1/10 I loved that this lemon is cream based, as opposed to a sorbet. The flavor was very fragrant and tasted more zest based than acidic, which I really enjoyed. Though poppyseeds were added into the base, I didn't taste much of them. The only reason this edged out black raspberry was because of how much I enjoyed the fragrance of the ice cream. 2. Black Raspberry: 10/10 Incredible and stunning. I love the color, but also how fresh the flavor is with no mix-ins. It has a light, but distinct fragrance and taste of raspberries. Once again, I love that this was not a sorbet. 3. Baklava: 8.5/10 Lots of cinnamon and real baklava mixed in! I love the flakes of phyllo I occasionally got with the ice cream. 4. Rose Pistachio: 8.3/10 I love anything pistachio flavor. The rose was not overpowering in fragrance or taste at all. The lightest, not intense fragrance of rose added the perfect amount of spice to an otherwise well known, standard flavor. 5. Mango Sticky Rice: 7.7/10 Didn't taste much mango! It mainly tasted like coconut and had rice grains mixed in. A few of my friends didn't enjoy the rice, but I thought it was a nice textural addition! It reminds me of the yogurt drink place (Duo Mi Yogurt) next to Nanxiang Xiao Long Bao in Flushing, where they mix purple rice as a topping into drinkable yogurt. 6. Ube: 7.5/10 Tasted more like coconut to me! I love the purple color. They also sell pints of ice cream for $10, which is a steep price, but after the ice cream flight I was ready to grab some black raspberry ice cream to go. After hearing good things about Andia's my wife and I were disappointed by our experience there. The first thing that rubbed us the wrong way was that they are meticulous about their portions. Each scoop is weighed for accuracy. This combined with their insistence on assigning a single employee to help each party, regardless of size, makes the line move at a crawling pace. My wife got the Butter Bear Float, which seemed to be more cream soda and marshmallow fluff than it was ice cream. I got the Butter Beer ice cream and the Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream. The first of those was okay, but I was disappointed with the latter. The Mint Chip's freckled mint texture was nice. But they advertised their mint flavoring as from home grown mint. I've tested many mint ice creams that pulled this flavor off much better. In summary, it feels like they nickel and dime customers, take a lot of your time, and the ice cream tasted only okay to us. We LOVE going to local ice cream shops, but I'd rather get Publix brand ice cream than come back here. read more

I've come here before and always enjoy Andia's unique flavors, but most recently I came with my daughter and we tried their Pandan non-dairy / vegan ice cream, and I was super impressed with how spot on the flavor was for it. It tasted almost exactly like the Asian pandan-flavored desserts (mainly sticky rice) I enjoyed growing up - really nicely done with the coconut milk base, which helps maintain its creaminess. The following week, they had Ube available, and I was equally as impressed with that flavor as well. I also tried their vegan mint chocolate chip, and I would have been fooled if you didn't tell me it was vegan / dairy free. With my daughter having a dairy sensitivity, I'm glad Andia's has a handful of vegan / dairy-free options that also taste great. I've had their other traditional ice cream flavors in the past, and have never been disappointed with anything that I've tried. My favorite is still Baklava, but I don't think you can go wrong with the flavors here at Andia's. Parking is easy and plentiful, and there are indoor and outdoor seating options available.
