I was sad to see the old location gone, but boy oh boy did Long Beach score with this new restaurant! The people here were so kind and welcoming. The location and ambiance is also beautiful. Food and service is reviewed below. We came in on Mother's Day weekend and they were offering moms a complimentary glass of champagne. I thought that was such a nice touch. We arrived as a party of 3 while a larger party arrived a few moments after us. We needed a second to look through the menu before ordering but with that quick second, we ended up waiting quite some time as the server solely focused on the larger party. That was a bit disappointing for this thirsty and hungry mama but luckily we flagged someone else down and they took care of us immediately the whole rest of the time. The food is authentic Mexico flavors meaning it can be light or heavy, spicy or creamy, but fully satisfying. We did Benedicts, chilaquiles, and kids pancakes. All things we'd order again!! I can't wait to return for other items on their menu like their crema de elote or fideo soup!!! I highly recommend for casual dining but especially for a special occasion! Their indoor patio is gorgeous for photos and parties. They'll Also make your day feel even more special.

We stopped by this great little place on the LB Peninsula for coffee this morning. We had an amazing time conversing with the owner and some locals. The latte I ordered was delicious and perfectly crafted. They are open at 8am for coffee and/or breakfast. They stay open until 8pm, serving lunch and dinner. The menu has lots of options, both Mexican and American food. I have met both the husband and wife owners...super nice people!! The cafe has a really nice feel and is quite pleasant. There is indoor and patio seating. I look forward to coming back for a meal soon! We like to get our coffee and then walk the ocean side Boardwalk ‍

Andrade's deserves all the stars and is one of my new favorite places in Long Beach. It's located on the peninsula, and tucked away down a side street right by the bay, so you have to know about it because you're not likely to stumble upon it. As soon as you step inside you're warmly greeted by the staff or one of the owners. It's a great place to stop in for any type of beverage, from their full-service coffee station, to the grab-and-go drink fridge, to a fun alcoholic drink. In addition to that, they are a full service restaurant serving breakfast and the lunch/dinner menu all day. For my first visit, we sat on the back patio for brunch. I had a chai tea and the birria ramen. The meat was exquisitely tender and the broth had so much flavor. On my second visit, we stopped in for an iced strawberry matcha while on a bike ride and took it just a few steps down the block to the water to enjoy. It had plenty of strawberry and was simply lovely. I look forward to returning because there's so many more items on the extensive menu that I want to try.

    Dessert was so yummy!!!!

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Good food, great service. A friend introduced me to this place. She'd stumbled upon it on a walk down on the peninsula. Since it's on a side street, it doesn't have the best visibility to the casual observer. It has a nice ambiance--clean and modern but still homey and inviting, but the service is what really elevated it for me. Andrade himself was there, greeting customers and checking up on things. All the staff were very friendly, as were the patrons, a lot of whom seemed to be locals. I had the avocado toast, which came with 2 eggs your way on top, along with a side salad. I also got a hot latte, which was perfectly made. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Back for another visit! Sorry I didn't get photos this time :) My husband had to give it a try. So we did our Sunday walk with the dog & stopped in for breakfast My husband had a breakfast burrito- said it was great ! I changed up my order & tried their breakfast burger protein style . So good & their fried are crispy and good. We ordered two beers ..... don't judge it was almost 11 am Ice cold & good. Service is always friendly and good. Our dog enjoyed her doggie treat too.

Such a lovely cafe by the beach! I kept it simple and ordered a croissant and a vanilla iced latte, and both were absolutely delicious. The croissant was perfectly flaky and the latte had just the right balance of sweetness and coffee. What really made the experience stand out though was the staff. They were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and so attentive to our large group of moms and toddlers. Anyone who's ever gone out with little kids knows it can be a lot, but they were patient, kind, and made us feel completely comfortable being there. Great food, great coffee, and genuinely great service. Such a positive experience. I'll definitely be coming back!

Andrades Shrimp Ceviche was yummm! Will be back for more! Our whole group loved everything we got here!

Hard to get to, but worth it! Clean restaurant, friendly, and most importantly, really good food. Everything we had was fresh and well made. Our first time here and we are already planning our next time.

Chilaquiles and Huevos Rancheros... and the orange salsa.

I came across Andrades on a morning walk on the peninsula and came back with my husband. We were warmly welcomed by Jorge, who we later found out was the owner. The chips and salsa were on point, chips were warm and crispy and the salsa was fresh and addicting. We then prdered breakfast. Chilaquiles and Huevos Rancheros. To say the food was amazing would be an understatement. It was like sitting in my in-laws (from Mexico) kitchen.... fresh beans, flavorful rice, and the sauces and salsas were on point. I teased Jorfe that the Orange salsa should come with a warning... hot! Jorge and team we very attentive and great hosts. We cant wait to come back and bring the in-laws!

First time at Andrade's Cafe by the Bay and had a wonderful experience and absolutely wonderful food. I ordered chilaquiles in green sauce. Great presentation, warm caring ambience. The service was even better. The owner is so attentive and kind. The salsas are really good and loved them. I had cafe de olla that was perfect for the cold morning. Give this place a try! You will love it.

Five stars all around from greeting to service to food! The chips and salsa are so good. The salsa reminds me of one from a favorite restaurant in my childhood and I had yet to find that flavor profile again, until now! The white mocha latte was both beautiful and delicious. The omelette plates were perfect. And, that deep fried ice cream was so good that I ate half...okay two thirds...maybe three quarters. Don't judge me! Get some of it and you'll see!

Hidden Gem on the Peninsula! My husband and I biked down to the peninsula today to check out this new spot -- mostly because I had to try their birria ramen I'd been hearing about on social media. Even though the place was packed, we were seated right away. The menu is surprisingly extensive -- everything from Mexican favorites like chilaquiles and enchiladas to American breakfast, burgers, and hot dogs. However, to my disappointment, the birria ramen wasn't listed. I went for the Quesabirria lunch plate instead, which came with three tacos and a side of consomé for dipping. The tacos were messy (in the best way!) and absolutely delicious -- tender meat and a rich, flavorful broth. At one point I had to get up to ask for napkins, but honestly, it's their first day open and that's completely understandable. While I was up there, I asked about the birria ramen -- and surprise! They did have it! It just wasn't printed on the menu yet. We paid and were about to head out when the owner came over with a complimentary bowl of the birria ramen to try. That gesture alone made my day. The broth was light, comforting, and tasted just like something straight out of my Tía's kitchen. Absolutely fantastic. We also tried the hibiscus agua fresca, which I usually skip, but this one was so refreshing and not overly sweet -- I actually enjoyed it! I'll definitely be back soon to try their breakfast burrito. Overall: Wonderful service (especially for opening day!) Great food and big menu selection Beer and wine coming soon Parking can be tricky, so plan accordingly. A great addition to the peninsula -- can't wait to see this place thrive!

Great place on the peninsula. I am not sure how long it has been there but we found it a few days ago and we went today for lunch. It was very busy and the server was for sure overwhelmed. The kitchen gout our order messed up twice but they made up for it with free flan and great service. I would say the best part with this place was the actual vibe it had inside and outside. Unfortunately the food wasn't the greatest. I will definitely come back and give them a second chance as they were very nice and gave us free flan.

We ordered caramelos with the poblanos inside, as well as their horchata. Tortillas are some of the best I've had. Super soft and flavorful from the grill. The fillings and salsa were good too, but it was really wet, and the bean ratio especially compared to the meat, was a little off. Always am going to want more meat. Horchata was unique since it was coconut based. Overall solid spot with patient staff. Tacos La Rueda is still better, but will be back when in Long Beach.

I stopped by on a Friday afternoon and waited about 20 minutes for a table. The wait was well worth it because each dish offered an explosion of flavors. I can't recommend the birria enough, as the flavors were reminiscent of what I've had in Mexico, very authentic. The space is small and can feel a bit tight, but sometimes the best food comes from these types of "hole in the wall" places. Ultimately, I'd say give Lola's a try! The chips/ salsa starter was addictive. Huge basket of fresh warm chips, and a salsa like no other! Chunks of veggies and just the right spice. It was hard to get those chunks on the chips but it was delicious. My carne asada was tasty, a large portion with grilled scallion and rice. I wish some of the "bean soup" had been pureed to be a bit thicker but the broth was good, with a variety of beans. Hubby's dish had an interesting flavor, very spicy. He wished the broth had some rice, though, to accompany it. We could come back weekly to try many more entrees. Their salads sound tasty, too. Service was great.

Of course it was rain delayed so more time to enjoy food and drinks. Also it was happy hour and taco Tuesday all at the same time. As the game was happening, one of the tequila sponsors was there offering deals. Shot and a jersey. Tony took care of us that night and he was amazing. Made sure that we got everything we needed. Very sweet as well. Happy hour menu offered a good amount of items for a great deal. As well as draft beer and cocktails. Regular menu is great as well which we've had before. Food, an order of the tostada both with shrimp and aguachili. Served with two small tostada and handful of crevice on top. Both were quite tasty and very well flavored in the juice. Also two of the street tacos with birria. They were quite small but did have a major punch of flavor to it. And well priced at 2.50 a piece. Of course the crinkle cut loaded fries with added carne asada. Seemed like it was a popular item as every table had it. It was good but a little skimpy with the topping. Lastly the chicken wings, lemon pepper flavor. Six piece tossed in the sauce. It was good but way too salty for my liking. We still enjoyed everything we had. As we got the shot with the jersey earlier, the person who was affiliated with the sponsor brand was walking around with more shot. I must say, it does hit the spot big time...lol... The crowd was lively with everyone all there for the same reason. The game and good company. First time for happy hour and it was nice. We had a great time and everyone working was the sweetest. And Tony was amazing. Took very good care of us.

Or at…read moreleast a very popular area (as evidenced by the extremely hard to find parking) I came here specifically for potato tacos, but there's a pretty extensive menu along with the full service bar. I came here. Also a little later in the evening in the middle of early season Dodgers game. So I sat down at bar table with the some other folks. Nothing brings Angelenos together like a Dodgers game! I had a few beers with my tacos, and the tacos were crispy and delicious. By the end of the game, I was high-fiving with people that I considered strangers to me when the day started. Just a fun, lively vibe here on the weekend evenings with delicious food and beverages.

Palapa next door offers the same food menu but has more drink options. Many opted for outdoor seating on the terrace due to the gorgeous views, but not wanting to wait we agreed to indoor seating. The interior of the restaurant is also very beautiful. The bathrooms were too dark for my tastes though. Our waitress was absolutely phenomenal, super friendly and anticipating all of our needs (water refills, leftover containers, etc.). Service overall by all staff was friendly. We were actually presently surprised with the taste of the food, thinking it might be more Americanized but they actually had very authentic and tasty totopos (tortilla chips). The tomato salsa that came with the chips was also very refreshing. We asked for hot sauce too and the house habanero salsa really packed a punch! We ordered carne asada nachos, pork belly chilaquiles (from the brunch menu), a breakfast burrito, poke, and steamed clams. The steamed clams came in a rich tomato broth and the breakfast burrito was massive. The poke was just okay and the chilaquiles a bit too soggy for me, and the carne asada nachos a bit dry. Nonetheless, presentation and portion sizes were respectable. The last comment is that food here is quite pricey but that reflects the likely high rent of a restaurant in 2nd and PCH. Ola still exceeded expectations and provided a more than pleasant meal.

Great location, shoreline village. View of the boats, relaxing and on a Sunday, it's hard to beat…read morethe atmosphere. So I ordered a Bloody Mary and their Version is extremely sweet. So I had to return it . I the ordered a Coronita Margarita and that is/was tasty. They do have many different offerings of tequilas. And honestly fairly priced. I started with the Fondido de queso basically a Chorizo fondue. It was very good, only the chips were stale. Not all the chips so just so you know, I ordered the chicken mole enchiladas. The service has been very accommodating. The flavor from the mole was perfect, smooth rich a touch of heat and chocolate. Very flavorful and with the sides of black beans and rice, a tasty pairing. There is side of sweet corn , completing the plate. Great dish. I arrived at 1130 which apparently was the best time. By noon the place was packed and jumping. TVs for the games and plenty of room, so not so crowded despite the amount of people. Great place for a date , or family/friends gathering.

What an awful Tourist Trap. This is a place that once you come one, you will never return - and…read more the level of service and quality of food reflects that management knowledge. First interaction: They advertise a Happy Hour on M-F from 5-6 PM We had this interaction with a server in the bar. "Can we get an order in before Happy Hour is up?" Server "Of course. (Looking at phone the time on their phone). What would you like?" We order. Drinks are brought over along with the check for full price drinks. Me "Can you please fix this check? It's not 6 yet and you are still on Happy Hour, that's why we rushed over." Server "Oh yeah, today we don't have Happy Hour so there is no discount." Me "What so you mean, we ordered these drinks on Happy Hour and now you are telling us there is no Happy Hour as advertised." Server: "Well, we don't do Happy Hour when there is an event in the area, so they are full price." Second interaction (after waiting 45 minutes for a table in the restaurant). We ordered the "made to order table side guac" for 15.50 for an appetizer. About 10 minutes later, a guac is delivered to the table that was either run through a blender or was taken from a tub with a spoonful of pico mixed in. So much for the advertised table side experience or fresh avocado. The guac we buy at Trader Joe's and from Costco are way better. Third Interaction when ordering an entree. I order enchiladas and they have red or green sauce. I ask, Can I get both red sauce on one and green sauce on the other? Response, "well there's an extra charge for that". Besides being lied to about "Happy Hour" and about the "Table-side" Guac and them being told a basic request is going to cost extra, it's is c extremely clear that this place has no respect for their customers and no expectation that anyone will return. I know the 6 local people in our group will never return.
