Came to Nico's as it was my friend's birthday dinner and she wanted all of us to come to Long Beach! Ordered the Gnocchi, Calamari, and Truffle Mushroom Arancini as starters, the House Salad and Caesar Salad as salads, and the Lobster Linguine, Tomahawk Rib Eye, Chilean Sea Bass, Pork Rib Chop, and Seafood Risotto as entrées. All the starters were solid, but the Truffle Mushroom Arancini stood out the most. Absolutely massive arancini with a great sauce! The salads were solid and came with an absolutely massive portion. All the entrées were insanely good. If I had to pick up a favorite, it was the Lobster Linguine. But honestly, everything was a hit! Also ordered the Cinnamon Roll Bread Pudding, Lemon Cheesecake, and Tiramisu as desserts. Definitely liked the cheesecake the most! Service is great here. Really friendly and accommodating, especially since we had a large party. Food came out super quick, we were doing our best to finish off everything so that we had room on our table! Parking here is an absolute nightmare as it is all street parking with no valet parking. If it's a busy night, you might be parking a few blocks away. Definitely not the best situation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambience is very nice and cozy in here. Definitely gives off the vibe that it's a local neighborhood spot that serves great food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, Nico's really took me by surprise! Great food and vibes here for sure!

The only con to this place is parking! Street parking is available just make sure to read the signs. There's 4-5 parking spaces in a garage but can easily be missed. We enjoyed a lovely dinner here on a Monday evening. Cameron was our server and he was great. Started off with calamari and crispy spinach. I've never had crispy spinach before and I thought it was the best thing ever. Also had their gnocchi which according to Cameron, Nico's has served for over 20 years. It's filling and so flavorful with mushrooms topped with truffle oil. They serve different soups daily so for that evening, we tried the poblano soup. This soup, needs its own paragraph. The poblano soup at Nico's is so good, it's probably one of the best soups I've had. Shredded chicken, corn, cheese, and diced poblanos makes for a thick, hearty, and perfect soup. Not too spicy at all. It's filling and will leave you wanting for more. The chef takes his time roasting the poblanos and you can tell that this soup is a labor of love. For our entrees, we tried their lobster linguine and surf and turf that came with mashed potatoes, Chinese broccoli, lobster tail, and filet mignon. Everything was delicious, especially the mashed potatoes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is not that big, there's a back area which can accommodate a larger party otherwise there's tables of 2-6 that line one side of the place. In the middle is their bar area which the locals love hanging out around.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service here is excellent. We will be back again.

Came here for our anniversary and we were very impressed. Our server, JESSE, was top notch, made our night, and was very courteous and attentive the entire meal. The food was delicious and well prepared. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very impressed and enjoyed the vibe on a Saturday night[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . Will definitely be back Thanks to all the staff , you made our night .

Nico's - Long Beach, CA Our group walked in for a late dinner. We started with a few drinks. The Martinis and Old Fashions were mixed perfectly. Highly recommended. Prior to dinner we ordered the Steak Tartare which, I can personally eat everyday! For our main entrees we had the Chilean Sea Bass which was delicate and exquisite. The Filet Mignon was a perfectly cooked medium and absolutely delicious. Lastly the Pork Rib Chop was mouth watering and seasoned to perfection! The bar area offers lighter dishes if you're not in the mood for a full meal. The staff is friendly and attentive, providing excellent service throughout.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Nico's is a splendid space with great waitstaff, great drinks and pretty amazing food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My spouse and I consider ourselves lucky to live close to it and enjoy coming here as often as we can manage. Even if you don't live in the area it will be worth the drive wherever you're coming from.

Went back here to where my kid and I like to hang out for lunch during in elementary school time and COVID period. We love this place a lot since it's convenient from the neighborhood and great foods. It's very cozy and romantic place before COVID and glad to see them went back to it. They do have open doors/windows on the bar side with high tables/chairs overlook the small parking lot. Dinning room is on the other side and with dark ambiance decors/walls and lite up at light, it is very romantic. Service is good, but sometime can be forgetful. Great foods, packed of great quality of meat and favor. Cocktails are will skillful make. Still a great place for great drinks and foods with friends or family. As for parking, street parkings...you might have to park a block away and walk over but it's a good way to build up an appetizer.

This is a regular spot for my husband and I when we are restaurant/bar hopping down Second Street on a Saturday afternoon. It's a great local spot with a cozy atmosphere, great drinks and good (albeit not mind blowing, but good) food. We usually sit at the bar as we look forward to being waited on by Celeste, an amazing bartender who is a pleasure to chat with as well. She makes fantastic espresso martinis (with freshly made espresso!) and is very accommodating to any cocktail or mocktail you can think of. While their bar area is small, the restaurant itself has a few different seating areas that are perfect for groups large or small, or just an intimate one-on-one date night. On this visit, they happened to have a seasonal holiday cocktail menu, which I love because it offers festive, creative options you wouldn't normally get with their regular beverage program. As always, they have a great wine list, by the glass and by the bottle. I love that the bar is just busy enough to have some energy but never too crowded during this time of day, and that they are open for lunch so I have a cozy place to take work clients that has a variety of food items. Parking can be a little challenging, there is a small lot and street parking but it can fill up fast. I have always had good experiences here and I just think it's a very cute, special place.

    Pork Belly. Delicious!!

We have been there for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can eat in or outside. They have a full bar and sometimes it gets a tad loud on weekend nights, but it is fine. We just eat inside. The place is clean, comfortable and super cute. It is right in Seal Beach and be patient trying to find parking. The service is great with the sole exception of the hostess. She is fine, but she needs to pay a little more attention. The rest of the staff is the best. They know their large menu and all the drinks they have. You will love them. The food is outstanding. We love their breakfast items. They have a pancake that my grandson loves that is chocolate and not thanks for me, but he thinks it is great. Their eggs, hash browns, waffles and plain pancakes are perfect. For lunch they have some of the best sliders with great buns and wonderful French fries. They also have ribs and all sorts of seafood. We love their fish and chips and they are often a special. The fried shrimp is great with super dipping sauces. Their sea food pots (the BOUNTY OF THE SEA POT)is my favorite) is so good and you can get it as a starter or for your main. We also love all their shrimp dishes. There is something for everyone. We love it.

Perhaps she should ask if the stroller can be stored on the side instead of assuming it needs to be at the table causing longer wait time and then have a condescension tone when asked how much longer. Once we were called to be seated she threw the tablet on the stand and the menus in the table. Completely unnecessary and awkward. Pretty much killing the mood for a simple bite to eat on a nice day at the beach. Then she had the nerve to lie to the manager and say she was cussed at when we asked to speak to the manager. No one deserves to be treated with such attitude. The manager mentioned that she was only 17. I said well hopefully this is a teachable moment for her. The server was great aside from that. Chicken pesto sandwich was ok chicken lacked a little flavor. Prices were reasonable

This looks like a solid fine dining establishment." I continued to be impressed as walked through the foyer and was greeted by a friendly hostess and elegant live jazz music. If my experience ended there, this would have easily been a five star visit. Unfortunately things went downhill. We've received a writer who had the most nonchalant cold demeanor I've encountered by White staff in a long time. I feel like he would be a better fit at a more high-end pretentious restaurant. He definitely didn't make me feel comfortable or valued. The food was good but not impressive, I'm afraid. It didn't taste authentic or unique. We ordered the ceviche, Miso caramelized mahi-mahi, and yakiniku calamari. The ladder was easily the best dish of the bunch, but it also reminds me of orange chicken squid. I love the flavor and the texture though! I plan to return for happy hour to see if I can appreciate the food more when I don't have to pay full price. I think the food is a Todd overprice for the quality they offer. We'll report back after my second visit.

We had a reservation for six and the hostess greeted us and sat us right away. Our server, Nate, was fantastic. He knew the menu and answered all of our questions. He even explained how some of the drinks were made. Later we found out he was actually one of the bartenders helping out as a server for the night. Which made sense considering how well he knew how the drinks were made. He was attentive and checked on us often to make sure everything was going well. One thing that made him stand out was, he actually conversed with us rather than just asking if we needed anything and then leaving. The Old Fashioned was one of the smoothest and best I've probably ever had. My nephew ordered the Ube Painkiller after Nate described how it was made. I had a sip, and the ube flavor really came through without overpowering the drink and it was perfectly matched with the dark rum, which Nate said came from the Caribbean. The Brussels sprouts had a nice mix of tender and crispy pieces that gave additional texture. The calamari was tender and the pesto style sauce paired real good with it. The Thai curry sea bass was flavorful, flaky, and had the right amount of spice. The cioppino had a rich shellfish flavor in the broth and I appreciated that the tomato base didn't have such an acidic taste. We also shared the tomahawk, which was juicy, cooked perfectly, and had a sprinkle of coarse salt that really brought out the flavor. Overall, we had a great experience. Happy hour was happening which we took advantage of. It was 4.00 off appetizer, 2.00 off draft wine and beer. Also, they made sure that our little pup was well taken care of as well. Food wise, an order of the poke wrap. Nice chunks of ahi with a scoop of rice, lettuce, avocado and wasabi sauce. It was good but a little messy. As it would be with all of the lettuce wraps. The steamed mussels which is a must. The broth was delicious and served with two nice thick slices of toasted bread. Decent size mussels cooked deliciously in the broth. A must try. Lastly the calamari which was tossed with jalapeños. Both deep fried and quite tasty. Nice crunch to it but not overly cooked. That was also served with two dipping sauce. Everything was delicious. Towards the end of the meal, Melinda noticed that a bug was in my wine which she was very sweet about and made sure to take care of it. The simple little gesture was greatly appreciative.
