I eat my barbacoa from Andrea's every weekend! I give it a 10. The service is excellent.

Always a 10/10. This is where I bring my friends and family when they're visiting & want a quick breakfast. Especially considering everything on the weekends is an hour wait. It's super quick, very clean, and the taste stays consistent. We get the bean & bacon or the posole. My mom loves the chicharrón because they cook it fresh. Very limited seating though, so would recommend to come in a group no large than 5 or takeout. read more

Open 6 AM to 1 PM on Saturdays and 7 AM to 1 PM on Sundays, Andrea's is in the Point Shopping Center, which has a steep incline on one end. Being mainly a meat market with mostly bar seating and only one multi-seat table, it is a place to go when you want great tacos or meat by the pound but are unconcerned about ambiance or socializing. The mainly grab-and-go Andrea's is not for large groups. So, don't plan on having birthday lunches here. Do plan on paying extra for souffle cups of cilantro and onions, of pico de gallo, and of larger quantities of salsa--65 cents each at this writing. If you enter the plaza from the end along De Zavala with the steep incline and park there remember to set your parking brake. To avoid the incline enter from either the Babcock/Sunset Haven side street, which is off De Zavala, or the driveway just before or after it--depending on whether you're traveling from Babcock or on De Zavala towards Babcock. read more

I think this is a 8/10 , of course you can't compare this to something on the southside because this is somewhere on the north side, however, if you want to get some Barbacoa for the morning for your family, I think that it's reasonably priced or similar to other places. I however, would prefer to get my own tortillas because I think that tortillas are a little flat, however I still would say that this is an eight out of 10 read more

Woke Easter Sunday wanting BBcoa but think it might not be possible as most businesses would be closed. Andreas was OPEN!!!! We had their very lean and tasty Barbacoa, Pozole(green), menudo, & beans. All very good very flavorful. This is mom pop operation with excellent customer service. We are consistent regulars to Andrea's for the pozole and Barbacoa tacos. Just know they sell out of both before noon most weekends so come early. Breakfast tacos are simple and tasty as well. There is one table inside and a short long table with a few seats in a line. Most people order to-go, as there's little to no seating in this small mom-and-pop shop. This is honestly one of the best tacos in San Antonio. I know that a lot of people bandy that term around willy nilly style, but I'm not kidding. This is a no-frills kinda place. Only one table in there. Not much art work on the wall. They don't mess around with that stuff, because they can make a serious taco. Handmade tortillas, packed tightly with delicious fillings. Their salsas were hot and great! The problem with this place is that they're only open Friday - Sunday! Even then, I've sought them out on Fridays, only to find them closed anyhow. They do some busy takeout service. The cashier was friendly and patient while I looked over the menu and had a hard time deciding. I opted for Andrea's taco, which was muy delicioso! Love how they sell their meats by the pound. A nice way to save some money if you have a big group at home to feed. In relation to the many of other tacos I had on my most recent trip to SA, this places is ok. Fairly average. The tamales leave a lot to be desired. Dry Dry Dry. The tacos are a bit pricey for the area - and they're not special enough to justify the higher price. Service is good. They take credit cards. Definitely like the location of this restaurant. Seems to be family ran. I did enjoy how lean the Barbacoa was. However I was not a big fan of the store bought corn tortillas. I prefer homemade when enjoing Barbacoa. I also tried the menudo and I can say I did receive a large portion but it definitely lacked flavor. read more

Ok so i read alot of reviews on this place and decided to take a chance even though its over priced food..bad decision. Dry a** barbacoa and no flavor at all. corn tortillas that taste store bought and just warmed up for resale..youd figure for 14$ a pound it be at the least authentic and flavorful...Stick with the original food you grew up with..its cheaper and taste way better..seems like they are selling the name of the restaurant to you. This hole in the wall is amazing! The owner was super sweet and is why I bought more food after I already ate. The salsa was the right amount of HOT which I love. I had a breakfast taco, and it was really good. Authentic homemade food. If you have an appetite I'd recommend two tacos because they're a little small. Super affordable prices. Nowhere to sit really it's more like pick up and go. They have one table and a row of stools. Had menudo, pozole, and tamels on the menu which I don't doubt are delicious! If you want a barbacoa taco swimming in grease, this is the place to go. I ordered 3 barbacoa tacos just now and asked for onions and cilantro. I was charged $10.75 for the three greasy bland ass tacos I've ever had and to top it off there wasn't even any onions or cilantro in the bag. It was just the three tacos by themselves. You are better off going to Rico's Tacos a few shops down were the tacos taste way better and they don't even charge you for the cilantro, onions, hot sauce or the lemon. Have been meaning to post this review for sometime, but just kept getting distracted. So short and to the point, this isn't the type of place you eat in at, it's the type of barbacoa/tacos that you get to go early Saturday or Sunday to get ready for the football games. The meal deals are honestly the only thing I ever get, succulent barbacoa, spicy salsa Verde, fresh onion, cilantro, and lime, avocados are extra, and the tortillas... Amazingly fresh and still hot, easily can feed a family of 4 for about 16$ and you can always get more barbacoa at a reasonable price. Highly recommended and highly satisfied read more

BEST POZOLE VERDE EVER!! Really hard to find in San Antonio. It is the best I have ever had!!! Seriously.
