Excellent service and delicious Mexican food! This was my first time to this location and I have nothing but good things to say. All the staff was very welcoming with warm smiles and amazingly attentive customer service. The food was fresh and so good! I got the Carne Guisada plate and it was simply perfect. The meat with tender, the beans were delicious and the rice, just right! And the portions are HUGE! My mother got the Enchiladas Al Carbon and it too was yummy! Again, tender and perfectly cooked meat and all the right flavors that you expect from a Mexican restaurant in San Antonio. I honestly didn't know about this location for the longest time. Taqueria Datapoint was good, with excellent service and a clean open dining area. I've eaten there twice in two weeks, once for lunch and once for breakfast. My lunch was delicious starting with the complimentary chips and hot sauce. They also still serve tortillas with their lunch plates which some Mexican restaurants have gotten away from. The chilaquiles breakfast I had a week later was not as good. That's a disappointment for me. Theirs was like a layered casserole... eggs, chips, salsa and cheese on top and the flavors weren't there. So, three stars for now, but I will be back soon . read more

Worst experience ever from the food to the service. Our drinks were wrong to start off with. Took her awhile to get our order. When they brought an order it wasn't even ours. Finally we get our food but the waitress didn't supple any utensils. We sat a good 10 min till she shows up the cheese wasn't even melted on my enchiladas and our food was cold. When we told her about it she said she had too many tables. Do we asked for our ticket and left. Will never go there again. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed the food here. Service was good and the interior is what I was expecting. I ordered the carnita plate which was yummy! I believe all plates come with either corn and flour tortillas. One of the really good Mexican spots I've had in a while. Their refried beans are nothing like other refried beans I've had. Their beans were tinted red and it had more flavor than just the basic refried beans that's slapped on your plate haha. My carnitas had nice crunchy ends--not too dried out. Portion size is standard. Chips and salsa are addictive. The chips are so light you barely realize you've eaten a whole basket. Something in that salsa haha cause it's all I crave sometimes. For entrees, the Crispy Tacos with Piccadilly are my go to here. Love a good homemade taco shell with an airy, crispy texture. Though sometimes they can get greasy, the overall flavor is tasty. I love their rice and refried beans. If you can't decide between charro or refried, I'd always go refried at datapoint. The nachos are bomb too. I love that they are open late so you don't always have to go to IHOP for a late night snack. But sometimes the service during the day can be spotty. It can be hard to get the servers attention but the good always comes REALLY fast. It can also get busy, but most days we can get a booth seat. read more

The problem, and I hate how this makes me sound, but it's relevant, is that there was only one waitress and she spoke NO English. I got the Barbacoa burrito ($8)! I have tried the 5 mini tacos, but I like the burrito better. You get avocado, tomato, sour cream included int he burrito. It was very filling. I got 2 meals out of it. The green and red salsa add a nice spice! The employees are always really nice. There is no seating area at this food truck location, and the area around it can be kind of sketchy. There was actually someone who was pulled over by a police at the same complex. read more

Taqueria Datapoint does it again with another new location! I've lost track of how many locations they have around the city, but this one is definitely looking good and the atmosphere is really nice. I hadn't had their food since their location in Medical closed down due to a fire. As soon as I walked in I recognized some of the employees from the Medical location now working at DeZavala, which was a nice familiar feeling. I ordered my go-to of al pastor and asada mini tacos. The asado tacos tasted exactly like I remembered, but the al pastor were definitely different (not in a good way). On the positive side, the food came out super quick and the salsas were as delicious as I remembered. My only note for them would be, please turned down the A/C just a bit. We decided to grab lunch/brunch and some family had recommended this location. We walked in about 12pm on a Saturday and we're able to sit right away. Service was super fast and very friendly. The food was delivered so quickly after we ordered we were both surprised. My wife got the chilaquiles and I ordered the quesadilla plate with chicken. The chilaquiles were piping hot, had a good amount of spiciness to them, and she really enjoyed the balance of veggies, eggs, and tortillas in the mix. My quesadillas were superb. They give you three which is a lot of food! The chicken was shredded but the sauce that they were in was wonderful. Tons of flavor in each bite! The rice and beans for me were also excellent! We came here as a recommendation from a friend. There was a lot of natural light from the many windows they had. It is a smaller area but it held many tables. At first we were a bit confused bc we didn't know if we were going to get seated or if we just choose a spot. So I asked a waiter and he let us know that we just choose our own spot! The booth seats were taller than the typical booth and my daughter loved that bc she didn't have to sit on her knees to reach the table. The waitress came to our table relatively quickly and was very sweet. She took our drink orders and came back with them pretty fast. I loved the menu bc they had pictures for everything on it! Large variety of options as well. She took our order and we got the food rather quickly. The rice was a typical Spanish recipe that had peas, carrots, and corn. Unfortunately for me I was not a fan. I just didn't feel like there was much flavor in the rice. I had ordered the verdes chicken enchiladas and man they were yummy. The chicken was super juicy and tender with good flavor. Along with the portion of it was really good! My daughter got a chicken quesadilla and she said it was super yummy. She did not like the rice or beans but she loved the quesadilla so she didn't mind. I tried Taqueria Datapoint on a recommendation, yet I'm not coming back. I also can't recommend this place. Taqueria places are a hit or miss, and this one left us asking several questions. At least the staff was friendly, yet it will help if you know a little Spanish when placing your order. First, the chips and salsa was good, yet it wasn't enough to save my meal. I ordered the asada y rajas con queso plate since I thought it would be served with poblano peppers. Nope. It's was jalapeños all the way, so the unexpected spiciness of the meal was a turn off. The beans were interesting, and I just couldn't eat them. They were this odd bright orange-red color, like they had been mixed in chorizo. My husband, my child, and I left them on the plate virtually untouched because it also tasted weird. The rice was okay, yet I mainly ate it because I was hungry and most of the meal was a bust. Usually my child devours Mexican food, and little of their plate was consumed. It's been a challenge to find a solid Mexican food place in the De Zavala area, and for now, the hunt continues. read more

I've gone through the drive thru 3 times so far and each time has been an experience today the least. All three times, the lady that takes the order forgets my drink and I have to remind her. That could be stopped if the waitresses weren't in the back gossiping and ignoring orders (which you can see from the drive thru). They keep gossiping even while your order sits there. Today, my food was so cold and gross and yes, she forgot my drink and I had to remind her again. The first two orders were exactly the same and yet the price changed by 2 dollars.
