I had been wanting to try this place forever, don't know why I took so long. I was definitely missing out! Our group ordered the chips w/guacamole and queso fundido to start out with. I had never heard of Loz Azulejos prior to enjoying a team lunch event here this past week. As soon as I walked in I immediately fell in love with the bright blue and cheerful aesthetic. They had a table and area set up for us (since we were a party of 12) and Yareth and Diana saw to us having a perfect team lunch from the moment we sat down to the moment we left. We had two different pre-fixe menus to select from and for my meal I went with: - esquites for my appetizer. They were a little more watery than I like so some of the flavor from the toppings was lost - ribeye chapultepec as my entree. It was a very generous portion and the sauce (a combination of mezcal and piquillo peppers) was even tastier than I could have imagined and something I would have ever picked for myself if it hadn't been on the pre-fixe menu. Highly recommend. If they bottled the sauce I would totally buy some! - pastel de elote for dessert. YALL. this thing was another menu item that i likely wouldn't have ordered for myself but Yareth recommended it to me so I went with it as my selection. When it came out my mouth (and a few other's at the table) dropped open. It looked JUST LIKE an ear of grilled corn. I love this place but the service today was not good. I asked about the gluten free options or about certain food items and the waiter was confused and kept getting stuff mixed up and then she was walk away and take awhile to come back. After we ordered she didn't return to the table to check on us till the end. We even waited awhile for the check. Then she Hoovers super close while I'm trying to pay. It was uncomfortable. The food is always good. But check the menus before you come because they don't serve certain plates all day. I think they can be considered gluten friendly but it's just order at your own risk and ask questions because nothing is marked. read more

Outstanding dinner experience at this authentic restaurant! It was our last night on vacation in San Antonio (B4 heading back to Las Vegas, NV), and we wanted Mexican food! The restaurant is spacious with a bar. We were seated efficiently after arrival, in which we didn't have a reservation on a Monday night. Came here for my dad's birthday dinner Sat Oct 18, I was able to get a reservation for 14 people (day before). Everything was great, my family and I had so much food and fun. Came here for happy hour. After about an hour or so we were asked to leave. Not because we were rowdy or obnoxious . Get this... our waitress (even though she was being nice about it) said our spot had a reservation. Looking around, there were plenty of empty tables. Never experienced that before! We asked to sit at the bar to continue our dining experience. Nope. We then asked to sit outside in the patio area. They agreed. We should've just left, but we were in good company and wanted to finish catching up. So, we were nice about it, moved outside, and even ordered more! Food and drinks were decent. This is the first place I've tried and reviewed on yelp that I didn't previously have on my yelp bookmarks and I was blown away. Our server (I believe it was Stacy) was so attentive and kind, I definitely would want to have her again. We made reservations ahead of time and thank goodness because it does get busy during peak dining times! I can see why, everything looks delicious. I ordered the Molletes, something totally out of my comfort zone but it was recommended by our waitress and I ended up devouring it. I do wish the pork belly was more on the moist side (it was more like a chicharron texture but not as crunchy) but it still had great flavor. 10/10 would definitely order again. We also had the guacamole, chips and salsa to start (chips & salsa were complimentary). Guacamole was good, but not as flavorful as it could've been. We went for lunch on a Saturday...they had a decent crowd, so we asked to sit on the patio. For some reason, the plastic panels were all down. We sat out there anyway, since we went for the patio. It wasn't bad temperature wise, but it didn't have any personality out there... They bring out chips and salsa to start, which were yummy...however, they charge for refills. They have brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, but we chose off the lunch menu. We got a Paloma and a Top Shelf Margarita, both rimmed with tajin. They were very good! We met some friends here after a long hike and wanted to check out some brunch. Blue is one of my favorite colors and what caught my eye was the pretty blue tile decor throughout upon entrance. One of my friends is on the hunt for the best huevos mortulenos, so never having it, I ordered it as well as him. Note : basket of chips to share at table with salsa. Their salsa was ok, but wanted something a little spicier, so we asked our server, and she brought us a green and a chipotle. The green salsa was my fave. But, there is an extra fee for more chips and salsa. It's not an insane fee, but never have been to a restaurant where there's a charge for extra! The huevos mortlenos was just ok. I ordered sunny side up eggs, but they were not sunny. For the mains, we ordered the trio which included cheese enchilada with choice of sauce (poblano most popular so we chose that), tostada and empanada-- all delicious. The poblano sauce was amazing. We also ordered the tacos. The menu was not clear and we apparently could only order one type of meat, but the steak with the lime based sauce was spicy and very tasty. This place did not live up to the reviews. The service was very slow. Tables around us were seated after us but got served before us. I had to ask multiple people multiple times for our check. I ordered mole enchiladas. The mole was good. But the shredded chicken was dry, unseasoned, and bland. It was like they threw over cooked chicken in tortillas and tried to mask it with mole sauce. Our waitress was a little slow and did not really offer suggestions until we asked, even though we said we had never been there before. That being said, the food was EXCELLENT. For 8 people with drinks, 3 margaritas and 1 beer the total was $198. The beans were very tasty, tasted like grandma's chair beans. I don't usually like beans that have a frank cut into them, but I did not mind bc these beans were THAT good. The Tacos Azulejos were excellent. We will be back just for them. Recommend: Yes. I've been to Los Azulejos various times and have ordered their street tacos. They are soo delicious. Service: The service has always been good, the servers are friendly, and willing to take the time share their recommendations/answer questions. Ambiance- I've been during the day and evening. Evenings appear to be their busier times (maybe because they have some really yummy alcoholic drinks ). The place is clean, with inside and outside seating. I haven't sat outside but the seating area is covered with a plastic covering to guard against exposure to the elements. It's decorated nicely and they have music playing in the background. Food: I've had their chilaquiles for breakfast and their rib eye tacos for dinner. They do not disappoint. I will say that the last time I had their rib eye tacos it was a big plate of food. I recall they gave you 3 mini taco (meat was chopped), charro beans, elote/esquite and I want to say rice (they were good and you got a lot of food...I miss that plate). Now the tacos azulejos is three tacos, with bone marrow and the chunks of rib eye were huge. My parents had to cut the pieces before being able to bit them in the taco. Their aguas frescas are delicious as well. If azulejos management reads this...please bring that dish of mini rib eye tacos back. They were so yummy and the accompaniments were too! read more

My husband and I came to celebrate our 47th anniversary. We received great service from Emiliano. We enjoyed the Happy Hour frozen margarita and Chicken Empanada. My husband ordered the Surf and Turf and I ordered the Red Snapper Seafood meal. My husband's Surf and Turf was perfectly cooked and oh so tasty. My Red Snapper dinner came out looking amazing, especially the salad. Unfortunately, my fish fillet was overcooked and dry. Emiliano offered and had my Red Snapper re-cooked for me. Been here a few times. It has awesome food and service. Also some of my fave margaritas in town. I had the cucumber rita and the wife had a pineapple margarita. We previously had been for lunch and had regular house ritas. Fantastic drinks very subtle and well balanced (tho the pineapple margarita was too sweet for me. Our server Sergio was amazing and had great recommendations and super nice. I had the shrimp over rice with allijo sauce. It was great but previously when i went i had the beef and would prolly get beef again. My daughter had the mole and I may try that sometime. The boy had the hamburger and it looked like a delicious mess of meats and cheese and sauce. Came here for a quick dinner before heading back to Austin. The menu online looked amazing so I wanted to try. We were sat immediately, smaller sized restaurant than I expected but irrelevant. We waited about 5 minutes before we were greeted. Placed a couple appetizers (guacamole and black esquites) which were amazing but we never saw our waitress again. We ended up just getting what was left of the apps togo and cashed out. What we had was great, other item also sounded good, but we didn't get to try them.
