I ordered the Mediterranean Pizza for delivery. The order took about 35 mins to arrive after I was quoted a 60 min wait time. The lady taking the order over the phone was very patient with my questions. Pizza was loaded with toppings and cheese. There was a very strong garlic flavour from the plentiful garlic topping. I did notice the chef did not put much effort slicing the pizza. Slices were not evenly cut. Overall, the taste of the pizza is better than a Freshslice Pizza. Meal came to $28 with tip for a medium pizza and 2 cans of pop. There are not many pizza options open late in North Vancouver. read more

Great and reliable restaurant! we've been going to Andreas for about 35 years and it's only gotten better and better! as a young couple we used to go there for their Greek dinners, or some of the best pizza! But anyways, their food is always amazing and now as a family with kids, we make it out Friday night regular! Our household has a love/hate relationship with Andreas. Note: We've never actually been to Andreas physical location-- the multiple times we've tried it have always been by takeout. We've never tried their pizza, either, we typically go Greek. IF Andrea's is having an on night (a sadly rare occurrence) and doesn't mess up your order or take an hour + fifteen minutes to deliver (long past what they promise), then it can be decent. Nothing to write home to mom about, but the portions are huge and somewhat satisfying. You're not just ordering dinner with how much food that arrives though, you're ordering dinner and lunch for the next day. That's one of two things saving it from a 1 star review. IF they do deliver it late (a frequent occurrence on busy weekends), expect limpy food that will need some time under a broiler to bring it back to life. IF they mess up your order and deliver something incorrect (which has happened to us twice), they are actually pretty good about redelivering what you originally intended them to on top of letting you keep the mix up. And at that point you pretty much have enough food to feed you for days.. So, bonus? Kinda? The other thing that's saving Andreas from a 1 star review? They deliver until pretty late-- we're talking 2AM. So, when you're up late having too many drinks and are craving something without having to go anywhere, their takeout fits the bill. read more

Called and placed an order for pickup based on the menu we received via mail not long ago. Cost for medium pizza ordered was 22.00, less a 20% off coupon on pickup. Arrived to pick up pizza and noticed that the charge was 27.00 less 20%. I googled the restaurant online which also showed my specific pizza at 22.00. Returned to cashier to clarify. She advised that they had increased their prices and my pizza was now 27.00. She stated that the 'owner' wanted to send out the flyer menus (with old prices) so people could get the 20% off. So basically I got 20% off of nothing, as I paid 22.00 after coupon. Not cool, especially when website also confirms prices on the menu I received via mail. This restaurant is AMAZING!!!!!!! Each and everytime my family goes there we get unbelievable service and great food each and every time! I have had Jenny as a waitress and she is FANTASTIC, we never have to ask her for anything she always brings it before we ask. Her mother is equally as lovely and gives great service too. I find all staff to be friendly, courteous, professional and prompt. I am not one to eat out as I always prepare my food at home but this is one restaurant that I make an exception for. I would recommend ordering from this place if you love having your restaurant of choice getting your delivery wrong and then failing to correct it and then blaming YOU for THEM getting the order wrong. This was just the last nail in the coffin for my family and i to decide that we will not order from here again. As long term customers we have noticed the decline of customer service at this restaurant, this is not the first time they have messed up an order. After waiting exactly 1 hour and 15 min we finally called the restaurant and they said the food will be there soon. We offered to go pick it up and found out the food wasn't even ready. Hung up called again after 15min it still was not ready after almost 1 hour and half. They offered no apology and hung up on us. We cancelled our food and drove and picked up fast food. Growing up in North Van and in a family that didn't eat out very often strangely I think that Andreas, through their takeout or actual restaurant, is the establishment that I've eaten from the most in my lifetime. Indeed I owe a lot to Andreas, it was the setting for my sister-in-law's first date with her husband, and it was through them that I would eventually meet my wife. So perhaps no good Andreas food, no wife? Well maybe not, but that is just one example of many ways that Andreas was a part of me growing up in North Van. My friends and I would often order out Andreas lasagna and garlic bread. A HUGE cheesy, greasy, delicious lasagna with an equally greasy slab of garlic price and a very reasonable price. Alas since I no longer live in North Van anymore I can no longer order out Andreas so my only visits are in person. My favourites when i dine in: - Pizza: they put an immense amount of cheese on your pizza. They don't seem to go overboard on the toppings, or maybe it's just hidden amongst all that cheese, but I always find that I'm able to eat about half the amount of pieces from an Andreas pizza than i would from any other pizza. The crust is good as well. - Greek Platter: A ton of various greek food on a platter for a reasonable price. This is usually too much food for two people and would best be suited. It contains all the items you would expect, kalamari, tsaziki, souvlaki, greek salad, etc, etc. As for the decor, until recently it has stayed pretty much unchanged for many many many years. Lots of wood panelling, lots of vines. I guess at one point they were going for some sort of tropical greek/italian theme. On my last visit a few months ago they had completely renovated and modernized the washroom (seemed out of place in the context of the rest of the restaurant). I'm not sure if they're planning on renovating everything else. I kinda hope not because for me it would remove a lot of the nostalgia. read more

I had heard about Andreas ever since moving to North Van. It always seems to make the "reader's choice" lists in the local papers, and in conversation with locals, whenever the subject of pizza comes up, they'll usually recommend Andreas. Well, I'm not really one for going out for pizza. I make my own incredibly awesome pizza (with sourdough crust and a secret sauce), so why should I pay anybody else to serve me pizza which is inferior to my own? But Andreas isn't just any pizza joint, it's also a Greek place, so when the gang were out walking the green necklace one night, and it came up to dinner time, I asked if they wanted to try it out. Of course, I went for the Greek part of the menu, and ignored the pizza choices. That may have done Andreas a disservice, since they seem to be most notable for their pizzas, but hey, given a choice between the two cuisines, I'll pick Greek every time. In this case, that may well have been a mistake. I should have been tipped off by the outfits that the hostess and the servers were wearing. In the past, I noticed an inverse correlation between the amount of leg and/or cleavage shown off by the restaurant staff, and the quality of the food. (The cynical side of me wonders if the management in that kind of restaurant is counting on the "scenery" distracting their customers from the food itself.) Sadly, in this case, that correlation holds true: our server's outfit didn't leave much to the imagination, but the food left a lot to be desired. I suppose that I should say, in Andreas' defence, that the portions were surprisingly generous. The slices of garlic toast must have been at least two inches thick. My lamb shoulder probably could have fed a family of four. But, alas, quantity is not the same as quality. (Actually, I'm not entirely sure that that enormous cut of meat qualified so much as "lamb" as "mutton".) I used to complain that the servings in really high end restaurants were way too tiny, but lately, I've begun to wonder if trading quality for quantity is really such a good idea. I'm sure I could have paid more for less food elsewhere, but I would probably have enjoyed the experience more, and, beyond the fairly small number of calories we need to sustain ourselves, isn't enjoyment the point of eating out? I may, at some point, return to Andreas to sample the pizza, but when I'm in the mood for Greek food, there are too many other choices along Lonsdale for me to waste my time here again. read more

The male server is very attentive and personable. The food is sufficient in flavour with a little salt but the portion sizes are ridiculously large, for the price. It's your typical all-in-one pasta/greek/pizza place, menu-wise. Food is average-good, but gets better when it's 1am and this is the only option. One experience stands out. We ordered a smattering of food and two cans of Coke. When the food arrived over an hour later, there was no Coke but two cans of Root Beer in their place. Checking the receipt, they'd crossed out "Coke" and hand-written "Root Beer" in its place. "They must have run out of Coke" we surmised. Both are shades of brown, so...they were just thinking on their feet. Also, not enough people drink Root Beer nowadays, so a forced RB is sometimes necessary. I've you're looking for good, affordable Greek food, and decent service, Andreas is definitely not the place for you. I've tried the delivery a few times, and it goes from bad to worse. In terms of food, they're all about quantity, and could care less about quality. While the prices may be decent for the potions, the quality of food is not. The Greek salad often has massive chunks of onion and tomato in it. I can't recall any other restaurant where I've needed a knife in order to eat Greek salad. And the pizza crust is sopping wet in grease. The taste of the food is sometimes ok, but it's often questionable, and has left me with stomach pains a few times. Next, there is the service. Or lack thereof. When you call, you're usually dealing with rude teenagers on the phone. Even when you get someone older, it's the same short, abrupt attitude...like they're doing you some grand favor by taking your order. I decided to give them one last try last night. The young girl on the phone took my order, and told me it would be there within 40 minutes. 80 minutes later, my food finally arrives. I sit down to eat, only to find it stone cold, and the drink I ordered is not there. So I call them back, and an older lady answers the phone. I explain that the drink I ordered was not delivered, and that I'm not very happy that the food is cold. She replies "so what do you want me to do about it?", to which I said, "well I can re-heat the food, but I'd like the drink I paid for delivered please". She says "well we'll get to it when we can", and hangs up on me. An hour later, and another phone call, and my drink finally shows up. So all in all, it took almost 2 and a half hours to get my cold order, the food was plain, and the service was terrible. At least the delivery driver was good enough to say he was sorry about the drink, but the staff at the restaurant couldn't care less. If I could give this hell hole 0 stars I would. I ordered a pizza and some chicken strips for delivery (total rip off for 20 bucks) the menu clearly says you get 6 strips. When I got my order there were only 3. I called them to let them know and the manager called me a LYING BITCH. I kid you not. He told me I only wanted free food and that his kitchen staff doesn't lie. Expect nothing spectacular when you arrive at Andreas - this place should be used for delivery pizza or late night drunken food. On two occasions we have been there for dinner, both times the service was horrible. The first time we went, the waitress forgot to bring a few things we ordered (despite them being written down) and huge amounts of time passed before we would see her again. The second time - we didn't even get a chance to order - such was the speed with which we observed the lack of professionalism from the waiting staff. There was a party of about 15 sitting at a table, then there was us; a party of two. We were completely forgotten about and didn't see our waiter for 15 minutes, not even water was brought to us, he didn't even care to light our table's candle. Other waitresses clearly noticed us but despite being the only other group of people dining, nobody came to see if we were ready to order. Even if the menu was written in code, I still could have made a code breaking machine from toothpicks and napkins before our waiter came to take our order. I renege on my first post. Sure my meal was replaced but this restaurant doesn't care about cooking or customers. I ordered a 10oz blue rare filet mignon and lobster. It came medium well and the lobster was rubber. It's all I ever order and the only time they got it right was when I finally blew up and had it replaced. I've dealt with Andreas in Langley for years before I sold my house and moved to North Vancouver and was happy to find out there was one here too. Big mistake to think they had the same kitchen staff. Never, ever order from here. A hundred to a hundred fifty bucks only gets staff mad at you for them having crappy cooks, not chefs, and you're made to feel like you're the problem rather than them get the right the first time. I'm sick of arguing with a restaurant that puts out shit, and then makes you feel bad for not eating it. Btw... the only reason one star is there is because I had to put at least one to post. Had not been here in years. Fixture on the North Shore. Waited forever for any service when waitress came she had major attitude and was clearly stressed out. Waited 30 minutes for a glass is wine. Apologetic busboy came over to explain there were only 2 wait staff but it wasn't very busy. She had one big table. We waited an hour for our food. Asked for bread it never arrived. Witnessed our waitress crying to owner because table behind us complained. Not exactly the family meal and fun night out we were looking forward to. Hopefully this was an isolated incident. Food was good not great, once it came. Cheap. Owners cruised around talking to regulars but not helpful to stressed out waitress. We ordered a pizza for pick up and when we got it home we discovered it was not at all what we ordered (the type of pizza we ordered was vegetarian, and the one we received was full of meat). This is a horrible restaurant that everyone needs to steer clear of! The service is horrendous!! I have ordered from them in the past and it's been ok. A few issues but nothing like this. Recently I ordered delivery. Made the call at 4pm in which they told me it would take 45 mins. One hour fifteen later nothing had arrived. I call them and ask about my order and they told me it's left. Two hours later still nothing. I call again and that's when they tell me they forgot to put the order in. That they can do it now and it will cost me half and should get to me in another 45 mins. 3 hours for a dinner order??? At this point I am speaking with the owner who tells me to take it or leave it. Does not care that my family has been waiting for two hours for their dinner and has asked that we wait another hour and still pay! I told them to keep it. They do not care about their customers at all!! Zero customer service!!! This is a restaurant that has been in business for too long and clearly it's time to move on! Will never eat there again. REALLY, REALLY, REALLY BAD SERVICE FOR DELIVERY!!! First time, the lasagnas were over cooked or maybe they had been reheated. The cheese didn't cover the top of the plate and the noodles were dry. We had ordered extra cheese and an extra side of meat sauce getting neither. The second time, we ordered lasagna and potato skins. The lasagna was made correctly and we got the extra meat sauce but the skins were seriously lacking toppings. And they forgot the sour cream. Came here for a work party and most people in the group were fairly satisfied with their orders. My husband had the lamb souvlaki and found it very flavourful and tender. I ordered the New York strip and although done just a tad more than medium rare, it was still very tasty, and very generously portioned. Another gentleman at our table had ordered his beef souvlaki well-done, and it came to him medium, which wasn't the best for him, as his plate was also the last to be delivered to the table by about 15 minutes (the restaurant was very busy). Our server was apologetic for the mistake and I could tell she was trying her best to serve both the large party as well as other customers in the restaurant. This place is a relic of days gone by, which normally is super exciting to me. It looks like the decor hasn't changed in 40 years. There is still a cigarette machine (A CIGARETTE MACHINE) at the front of the place (although cigarettes are now $14.00, not 25 cents). There is a woman who might be one of Marge Simpson's sisters, with a gravelly voice and snarky attitude to match, who sits at the front desk. My date, who has been visiting all his life, says the menu hasn't changed in 20 years. All signs point to me thoroughly enjoying this time warp. Meh - maybe I'm not a greek fan? Not sure. I ordered the chicken souvlaki. Portion was huge - two large skewers of chicken - too much for me to eat. Unfortunately, the chicken was underdone, which is always a turnoff for me and all too common with souvlaki - so I only picked at the well done bits on the outside. The souvlaki came with a generous portion of rice, vegetables, and tzatsiki and weirdly the largest, puffiest piece of garlic toast I have ever seen. So - I didn't go hungry. The house white wine was OK. So yeah, it was all OK. But I wasn't in raptures, either. Our server was very attentive - almost too attentive - wanting to know what we wanted to order no more than 15 seconds (literally) after we'd sat down. Given the pure kitschiness of it all, I'd be up for trying it again, but might choose something else from the menu? I order food here at least once a month for delivery when I'm at work. Last night I got the souvlaki. I couldn't decide if I wanted beef or chicken so they gave me one of each. Thank you. I asked for no rice since I'm cutting down on carbs and they sent an extra Greek salad at no extra charge. I loved that. Thank you again. The meat was cooked perfectly and juicy. Again happy. They're really trying to step up their game. I only wish I could order vegetables like broccoli or spinach or something like that with my food.
