TAR completed a small roof repair for us in the corner of our flat roof. This also involved removing decking that was currently installed in the area and re-installing it once the repair was complete. The team was amazing and patient with us during the quoting process! We are part of an HOA so needed to make sure everything was set and approved which took some time but TAR was kind to check in and understanding with our process. They were thorough with the initial walkthrough to prepare the quotes and they were even able to add on some additional work (gutters) that we realized was needed. Their quote was competitive and on par with a few other quotes we received. A+ on the work itself. Dominik was our project manager who helped coordinate everything each step of the way and was always responsive. The team was prompt and completed the repair with ease! We weren't sure what the issue was since the roof was fully covered with decking, but as soon as they began removing the deck in the area they found the issue and were able to fix it up. So I had several issues with the work TAR initially did for us and then came the kicker: another crew came out to replace our roof and they pulled back the siding TAR had installed one year prior to reveal that the moisture wrap didn't even go all the way around the structure. Seriously? I paid TAR to make these structures waterproof and they bailed without finishing the job. You can see in my photos how they left the edges and corners of my walls without the moisture wrap they promised. (They must have figured that I would never have the siding removed to see if they did the job correctly.) When I contacted Damian, he ultimately wrote, "I will be happy to send out a crew to make necessary repairs. I will only do this considering you delete the negative review you posted for my company and agree not to post any negative content online or elsewhere for TAR Restoration." So you'll be happy to do the job I paid you to do if I delete my review? Had you done what I paid you to do in the first place, you wouldn't have gotten a negative review. Avoid TAR as they won't do the work you paid for and they will refuse to complete the job if you raise a red flag. read more

This company was a pleasure to work with! Starting from scheduling someone to come and inspect the scope of work for a roof leak all the way through to the completion of work, their communication and professionalism really shined through. The scheduling was easy and straightforward over the phone. They called me the next day after I submitted a request via Yelp. Krystian came to do the inspection and was very friendly and professional. He wore a mask and shoe booties while in the house. The estimate for the work was sent to me the next business day. Then, after that was settled, the project manager Dominik kept me in the loop of when the work would be scheduled and called and emailed the day before and the day the workers arrived. The workers themselves were also very respectful of the property and wore masks when I met with them outside. All debris was cleared when they left and I received photos of the completed work the next day to complete the remaining payment. Admittedly, we've not used TAR for any major projects but I really wish our condo association had. This review is based solely on having them come out for two estimates -- one for roofing and another for gutter repairs. TAR came out to do a thorough walkthrough & estimate of our roofing project. They were extremely knowledgeable and willing to answer all of my questions. As a bonus, they could do the roofing project and the decking project via their sister company. They would also remove and replace our AC units. This was something not every vendor would do. TAR seemed like a great one-stop shop for our roofing/decking needs. Alas, we ended up going with another vendor due to lower cost. But I think we paid for it with our time and having the vendor come back out for repairs with flashing and caulking. I brought TAR back out for a gutter project estimate. Again, they knew their stuff, answered all my questions and gave a very honest assessment that what we were asking for was not feasible. I think TAR is a very well-run operation with experts in construction. They're extremely pleasant to work with. And while they may not have rock-bottom prices, I think you get what you pay for and TAR is a quality provider. read more

Overall, I'm happy with TAR, they gave me an estimate that was right in the middle of other places I got quotes for. About 20% less than the highest estimate. Initial estimate was great, but it took a long time to actually get them out to do the work. When they did the did a good professional job except for two issues: They replace a piece of gutter that I specifically told them was brand new. Later their replacement leaked and they had to come and redo it. Not a huge deal. Second, scheduler asked me what colors I wanted the soffit painted but later they left it unpainted and a manager told me they don't paint. They took $40 off the bill for the confusion but the painting cost me $200. Overall I still recommend them though. read more

Our rooftop deck began leaking into the office below it after a series of torrential downpours in the summer of 2021. Damian and his team responded almost immediately to our request for a quote. They were prompt, professional, and a pleasure to work with. We also needed our existing rooftop deck carefully removed prior to the roof repair, then replaced to help save on costs. Unfortunately most rooftop contractors do not provide this service, and after calling several decking contractors we found that most were uninterested in our business - or were only willing to remove old decking/replace with new material ($$$$). Total disclosure - I didn't end up hiring TAR. I can only speak about my experience in meeting with Krystian to receive an estimate and my whole experience in communicating with him. I do have their number saved so I can call them out in the future. Krystian from TAR was extremely professional - he showed up on time, he introduced himself and we spoke about my roof and my concerns. He then went on the roof and gave me his full assessment when he came back down. He explained everything thoroughly and he answered all of my questions. He wasn't pushy, and he explained everything in a very calm manner (I've had some really dramatic guys come out to look at my property and just stress me out with all of the work they claim I need to do). Some things that stood out: My house doesn't have a way of getting on to the roof from inside, so some companies wanted to charge me up to $200 just for them to bring out a 40ft+ ladder and climb up to the roof. TAR didn't charge me anything. This company seems super organized and you can tell they've invested a lot of time, thought and money into their branding. After nearly a month of waiting for them to get our job going we struggled w them communicating w us as to when they'd be at our building. I emailed them at least 4 times w my husbands cell phone #, requesting that they call him with updates/when they'd be at our building, and yet they continued to email me. That was frustrating. Then the repairman didn't let my husband tell him what side to work on, brushing him off, saying they knew, so, come next train storm it was evident to us they didn't patch roof accordingly. Upon closer inspection my husband realized that they did repair work on the wrong side. We didn't pay for their extra work, but we did have to spend $ and extra time tearing drywall off an inside wall that was affected by their mistake. I have managed capital projects for two HOA's thus far and have red flags that immediatly go up, especially when working with roofing companies. This is one of the most extensive and expensive projects you can undergo as a building and a fairly quick and uninformed position on behalf of the condo owners. We had TAR Restoration replace the shingled portion of our condo roof this summer and are very satisfied (so far at least) with the results. I really did my homework prior to going with TAR Restoration (I think I received nine quotes), and while TAR wasn't the lowest, we decided to go with them due to the transparency in their quote and their responsiveness. Their crew was able to complete the work in a day (and it was a very hot day), and despite a few hiccups (I had to tell the crew to complete something we had agreed to in the quote but that they hadn't done on their own volition), they worked efficiently and cleaned up everything afterward. Non urgent repair was within the 2 weeks promised. I was kept in the loop through email and texts.
