I worked with Perez Roofing last autumn and wanted to wait a season before I gave a solid review. Happy to report all went great with the roof install as we went through an extremely cold winter without any leaks to speak of. Perez is a family business, and I worked with Francisco who was very communicative and up front about all the details of the job. His crew was very hard working and on schedule. The job entailed a complete tear-off our 30-year old roof and reassembly of the broken chimney. The job started with the new materials getting craned in from the street the week prior. The crew waited for a good window in the weather and started demo the following week. The decades of old roofing material were meticulously removed and supposed of, and the quality, salvageable bricks from the chimney were saved and cleaned for reuse. They used a 5-ton dump truck to haul away 4 loads of old roofing material. For those doing the math at home, that's 40,000 lbs. of old roofing material removed from the property. The removal exposed quite a bit of brick damage to the parapet walls, and Perez was right there to fix the brick with a fresh concrete pour. They did everything they could to refresh a 100+ year-old building and make it watertight again and it's all holding up nicely. Once the mortar was dry, and over the next few days, they replaced some of the plywood that was rotted, began to apply the underlayment, then the top granulated, and added new vents. They even pulled all the parapet caps and wrap the ends of the brick properly. The chimney was completely rebuilt from the rooftop up and they added a cap for added weather proofing. All in all, very happy with the service that Perez provided and would use them again if I ever needed roof replacement or repair, or masonry. Highly recommend, great value! read more

I first contacted Francisco Perez at Perez Roofing on July 22, 2023. They were one of five companies I reached out to. Francisco came out to measure the roof and submitted an estimate on Jul 24th. I waited two days and received one more estimate. One roofer did not respond at all. Not only was Perez Roofing the lowest bid, but I felt Francisco was the most responsive, very knowledgable, and open to my suggestions. Two bids were very high, and one was only slightly higher. But, I felt that Francisco and Perez Roofing would do a better job. By Saturday July 29th, I had a new roof, completed in one day. He sent photos taken from a drone showing the work in progress, and the finished roof. My wife and I had gone out for dinner. After reading many reviews of roofers and getting 4 estimates, I choose to hire Perez Roofing & Masonry to replace my decades old flat roof. In contrast with most of the other roofing companies I contacted Francisco Perez, a co-owner of the family-owned business, responded to me right away. I was impressed by the strong reviews on this platform and by Francisco's promptly provided estimate (along with drone-produced photograph's of my roof's condition), and thorough explanation of what my roof needed, the materials his crew would use, what would happen if they found that I needed masonry repair, and more. I felt like I had received a mini-education in modern roofing after talking to him, and to be honest, that helped me evaluate the other less-impressive estimates I received. Finally, while Perez Roofing was available to start the job right away, Francisco honored my need to recover from Covid and then rebound Covid before starting the project, and honored his initial price estimate, as well. When I was finally ready to start, Francisco communicated exactly when he would be able to tell me his crew could start, and they did indeed start right when he said they would. He also checked with me about where the roof debris could be gathered, so as not to damage things in my garden. Francisco was on-site checking on the work and progress for the two days it took to complete the replacement and clean up after. I also had new gutters and a galvanized drainpipe added, and a small rook over a front entrance replaced. They found two damaged copings, which Francisco replaced at no cost, and built a new hatch cover for me, since the old one was heavy and damaged. The crew left my yard clean (though replacing a roof is a pretty gritty dirty business--make sure you close your windows!). I highly recommend this business and would definitely hire them again. In fact, I've already asked for an estimate for replacing the siding on my enclosed back porch!
