Let's call this 3.5 stars. The experience we had on 4/30/22 could best be described as "uneven". Starting with the highs, the food was outstanding. I would give them a 5 for that except for one issue I'll outline below. We drove over 40 miles to try this place for the first time after hearing a lot about it. If I lived closer I'd say I'd come back from time to time. But I can get as good or better closer to my home in St Charles county so it will be rare for me to make this drive again. I liked the atmosphere and the setting too. Here's the uneven part. It started with the drink orders. I asked for a bourbon list. I was told they don't have one but I could go look at the bar to see what they have. I did that. The selection is lacking for this price range. I have a better bourbon selection at home. So I asked for a Sazerac which should be a staple at a fine restaurant. The bartender didn't even know what it was or what was in it. And they don't even have absinthe to make it. Ok, I settled for a Manhattan. It was ok. He generally struck me as not a top notch bar tender. Moving on to the meal. As I said the food was great. The salads, the rolls and the sides all were A+ At our table we ordered one rib eye, medium rare, one fillet medium and the daily special tenderloin kabob, well done. They came out as follows: rib eye, medium well, fillet very rare and kabob medium at most. The fillet was so rare that it had to be sent back to be finished. This is a steak house, people, they should be able to get this detail right. My only other quibble with the food is there were no croutons on any of the salads. A house made, really great crouton would perfectly top a great salad. A miss in my opinion. Overall the service was about as good as it seems you can typically get in this post-pandemic world. Water was always full although for some odd reason every time they filled my wife's they filled it all the way to the very brim, making it impossible to take an initial drink without dribbling. Our waitress was occasionally MIA although I'm not grading too harshly for that. The real knocks on this place were the mediocre bar service and steak temps. That's enough to make it not worth the drive too often. If you live close by though and haven't tried it, do so. You will have a delicious meal, eventually. read more

I have dined here many years ago, before Yelp and it was good back then. Hubby had been craving prime rib for like forever so he suggested Andria's. I never argue when I get to eat so I said sure! We were there right when they opened so we were the first diners of the evening. We were seated at a booth in the back. I had forgotten what a lovely restaurant this is. It's a bit fancy and romantic without being overly fussy. We weren't dressed properly for this place, I had on shorts, but they didn't turn us away. I would definitely dress up a little bit next time. But, we were so early I don't think it mattered that much. We had our little guy with us who loves shrimp. We ordered the garlic Shrimp appetizer. He ate every piece and said it was great! They brought out a basket of rolls and they were hot, straight from the oven! He was wanting a hamburger, but it wasn't on the menu, so I asked and they were kind enough to make him one. Now that's wonderful service! It was huge and he loved it! My salad was excellent, with lots of different types of lettuce, red onions, croutons and tomatoes. I had the small filet and as I savored the amazing taste, it brought back memories of when I was here before. Their steaks have a distinct taste because they use their special sauce. I love it. Hubby of course got the prime rib and thank goodness he ordered the small, because it was huge! It was cooked perfectly and he enjoyed every bite! Our server was attentive and friendly. We went to Andria's because in the past we had some of the best steaks ever. This time since it was for one of our birthdays we splurged a little more because we were expecting great quality food. We were very disappointed. I had lobster and steak and was extremely disappointed. The lobster had to be microwaved and tough as hell. I have had better lobster on a $10 buffet line. The waitress was gone for long periods of time and was not very attentive when she did show up. This place used to be nice and have great food. Not the best because it was kind of greasy. It wasn't overdone though thankfully. I didn't taste any kick from the jalapeño that I thought I would sadly. The fries I ordered with it was so salty I couldn't even eat it without brushing them off with my fingers. Don't get me wrong I like my fries salted but I felt like I was just eating pure salt. We've been dining here for around 35 years. It's always been delicious. They have the best prime rib I've ever eaten, and, I find myself comparing others to theirs. Since we live a couple hours away, we don't get to dine here often, but it's always a treat when we do. If we're in the area for a show, Andria's is a must. On the most recent visit, we brought friends with us, so they could enjoy Andria's as well. It was their first time, and they enjoyed it very much. It was awesome. this was the smaller, 14 oz prime rib.... it's as I remembered. It was butter soft and no kidding, really pulled away with a fork. My husband and sister in law both ordered 16oz sirloins and they both loved theirs as they both remarked how perfectly grilled as they to ordered. After such large pieces of meat we each ordered dessert which is a bit of a departure for us... we generally don't order desserts or just order 1 and share. Well we got a slice of cheesecake, a Heath bar caramel cake, and a Fudge brownie a la carte...mine. It was also the best! The place is so close to home and yet we don't make it here very often. The steaks are so good I don't think we can stick to our diets if we come too often. Although it is a little pricier than other chain steak houses, it is definitely better and the serving sizes are larger. It's definitely worth every bit. The only downside I'm going to add was that the service was a little disappointing. Others might disagree...and there's a good reason. My husband and I had our first date at this restaurant. We loved it. Tonight was our 10th wedding anniversary so we chose to eat here as it was a sentimental place. My husband had made a reservation and told them it was our anniversary. They acknowledged us and told us Happy anniversary. The dining room was not crowded, they were not at a peak level of business. I ordered the Beef Romanoff. My first bite was from the middle and it was cold - like from the refrigerator cold. I kindly sent it back. No problem just heat it up please. It was brought back to the table but by then my husband was done eating so I asked them to box it up. They boxed up my entire entree portion. We were charged full price - again, no problem. We tipped generously. The people behind us were also celebrating their wedding anniversary. They received a cake as we were leaving. I also talked to a friend that celebrates their anniversary and they were also given a cake. When we got home I realized there is NO WAY they boxed up my entire portion. I just had an amazing dinner experience with my BFF at Andria's! It was worth crossing the Mississippi River, most definitely! I love that the restaurant is close to the stores in O'Fallon / Fairview Heights, but that it's set back off the interstate just a bit, hidden behind a veil of trees and greenery. It's an oasis after the hustle and bustle of shopping at the mall. Upon arrival we were immediately seated by the hostess. Hot bread and butter appeared in the blink of an eye, along with ice water. At that point, we looked around and the ambiance is quiet, classy, a bit old fashioned, but nice inside the home turned restaurant. We asked the hostess if we could sit outside because the weather was simply superb today, and she said while they currently weren't seating out there, she would check. Within a couple minutes, we were whisked outdoors to the patio to a cloth covered table set with china! It was amazing out there! If you can finagle it and the weather's nice - go for it! There's relaxing recorded music piped outside (acoustic guitar during our meal), and at our September visit the serenading music of cicadas. It was a perfect outdoor dining experience! Wait it gets better... The meal was awesome. The house salad was delicious - fresh greens, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, olives, red onion, and their house balsamic. BFF and I both had the deliciously tender ribeyes with their house marinade. I had one of the best baked potatoes I've ever had - perfectly baked and oh so fluffy; and the bestie had the crispy and tasty fried zucchini. We split dessert - the lemon berry mascarpone cake, which was amzaeballs!!! It had real blueberries in the cake, and this light lemon flavor. The middle filling of mascarpone was just the right touch of decadence, along with the drizzle of red berry sauce. We were tempted to lick the plate, but some how we maintained our composure. While the Yelp page says it's a classy joint - and it is - attire is all over the place. Some people were dressy. We were in jeans, tennis shoes, and comfy casual. The servers and hostess made us feel completely welcome. Service was actually very, very excellent - especially considering the fact we were unexpectedly outside. However, for how much you pay for the food, I would rather drive across the river to get better quality food. The food was cold and bland the broccoli was not palatable by any means. We took our daughter and son in law there to celebrate and was totally disappointed. Waitress messed up the order and when she delivered the correct steak, it was served on a plate of grease. Our first visit. We wanted to like it, (went here on my birthday) but sadly Andria's didn't live up to the hype of the reviews we'd read. Hot Rolls= sorry you may try but this mouth can spot bread that's been "nuked" (microwaved for those not familiar with the term) a mile off! At least real butter. Appetizer: We wanted to try the lobster turnovers and were advised no we have bacon& Blu Cheese turnovers= Greasy and VERY salty (coming from someone who likes salty foods!) (Sidney street STL has/had amazing lobster turnovers) Salad= while the dressing is a wine vinaigrette style and tasty, not my fave and over all the salad was missing something, oh yes any sign of a pesky protein in the way of cheese or meat was missing. Side= We both skipped the spud and went for the fried zucchini, but before we did we asked the waiter "are those made in house or frozen?"...we were told made in house, well for anyone whos actually HAD homemade breaded/fried zucchini AND have had frozen these were very Obviously frozen with a factory batter! Steak=We both chose the "16oz" Ribeye (I buy lots of steaks and this was not even close, more like 10-12max) Char Grilled is good, but our steaks were not only lacking flavor in a big way but were tough ta boot! The steak in no way tasted like it had been in marinade or seasoned at all. While one would appreciate the touch of a little cake with a candle for a birthday this had to quite frankly be the sadest looking/tasting piece of cake right outta the freezer earlier in the day ever. Again sadly we left feeling like we had dropped north of a Benjamin for a meal on the level of the old Ponderosa Steak House. Some people in the area like it. To each his/her own! Six of us visited a few months ago, on our way home from St. Louis. The recommendation to eat here was a good one. I thought that the Lobster Turnover was particularly delicious. On the Salad, the Roquefort Dressing very creamy and flavorful. I had the Small Filet (8 oz), which was beautifully cooked and tender. The Baked Potato was large, flakey, and creamy -- hard to imagine how it could have been better. They served a good Iced Tea, which was refilled frequently by the wait staff without prompting (yay!). For desert, I had the Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp, served with ice cream. This was quite a treat, as our own rhubarb plant has been allowed to grow unhindered by picking for pie or crisp or any other such rhubarby delight for several years (until this Spring!). For a side, we had mixed veg, prepared to good level of doneness and with good flavor. My wife reports that her Sirloin was also quite good. I'm not much of a coffee person, but the Coffee here was (we all thought) nice, mellow, and flavorful, without the nasty burnt bitter taste that one often gets at many places that should know better. read more

Gotta knock it down a few notches. We were there early for dinner and still waited 40 minutes for our entrees as the server explained they had to cook the pork chop. I've cooked a lot of pork chops and 10 minutes should have done it for one that size so perhaps it was frozen solid? Still, it was so tough my dad's knuckles turned white trying to cut it. The garlic cauliflower side was inedible so it went back, as did the coffee that finally arrived 10 minutes after it was ordered well past dessert, but they still charged us so we had to get them taken off. The prime rib was so tough we struggled to chew it and had to spit out balls of fiber. House salad and baked potato were excellent.
