I came in with a reservation for 6, those who were there early were seated right away. The alcoholic beverages were great and they came out fairly quick, the amaretto sour was great and so was the Prosecco. Now for the food I think for the price my expectations were definitely not met. I ordered a steak and lobster combo but there was no lobster available that day which is fine so I ordered a medium rare steak. While our waiter was great, constantly checking on us for drink refills, the wait for the food was just too long, we all ordered steak and it wasn't until after an hour the food came out. My steak wasn't great, it was tough and it was too charred. I wasn't the only one who thought that, half my table agreed that it wasn't good. Moving onto dessert, that part was good, the creme brûlée cheesecake was delicious. I take two stars off based on the fact that the food took too long to come out, the steak was not good and the ambiance wasn't the greatest. I couldn't hear anyone on my table speaking because it was soo loud in there. I think if you want the fine dining steak experience you're better off going to 1818 chophouse down in O'Fallon IL. Simple old fashioned steakhouse. Reliably great steaks. Pleasant environment with good service

I will first state that the tenderloin I had at Andria's was probably the best steak I have ever had. I have traveled all over the place, and eaten many a steak. The 8 oz filet was thick (like a baseball shape), warm red (like I wanted), juicy, tender, flavorful (they basted it with something amazing, I think), and I ate it in delicious little slices. Service was nice and reasonably well paced. Had a Caesar salad, asked for a large salad and no potato, and got exactly that. Wine list is limited but reasonable too, assuming you get a bottle, which we did. Didn't get dessert. We had a large group and they were well prepared for us. Ambiance is not bad but not 5-star. Also, any veggies beyond a salad cost extra - the potato is free, so on principle I withhold a star as I think green veggies should be a right when you buy a $30 steak. Service was crazy good. I loved the lobster turnovers, some other review mentioned they seemed salty and greasy. Well, they were quite rich, but I didn't mind the butter, and I didn't find them overly salted. Delicious! We ordered one filet and one ribeye. I liked my filet better. Nothing wrong with the ribeye, I am starting to like a filet over a ribeye. Potato was great, heavenly crispy skin. Ambiance: So its an older establishment. As long as it's clean, I don't mind the feel of outdated decor. Ya, it's pretty bad. Swags are so yesterday. I could see the heavy coat of dirt and dust on the fabric from across the room....that is why they lost a star. Really, I would have preferred to give them a 4.5. Ordered the ribeye medium rare and it was amazing! Like cutting through warm butter. Didn't need anything to enhance. Ambiance is nice, relatively dressy (jeans ok). I wouldn't go wearing work out clothes. Good service, very attentive, but not buzzing around every two minutes. Going again for sure! read more

I have been to Andria's several times, and every time prior I have had wonderful food and service. This time, the service was still wonderful, but the quality of the food had diminished immensely. My wife and I went, for not special occasion, just to enjoy a nice steak, or in my case, a prime rib. The size of cut of my prime rib was comparable to the previous visits, but the meat quality was maybe a little above terrible (for a place such as this). Lots of tendons and a ton of fat. I would say a quarter or more of the cut was fat. Previously I would only need a fork to cut through the meat, this time I had a tough time, no pun intended, with a steak knife. To make matters even worse, the price on their online menu was way lower than the price at the restaurant. I was extremely disappointed. My wife chose the strip steak, which was also extremely tough, and had a ton of tendons, etc. I tried a piece of it and had to chew for a while just to be able to swallow it. Even the side baked potatoes seemed different. I seem to remember them being rolled in some sort of rock salt and baked, but now they just tasted like something that would come out of a microwave. To me it almost seems as though they have changed meat providers, or something because none of it was to the quality I remembered. It is unfortunate that the quality has sunk so low, as I really did used to love this place. But the quality meat we received for the price we paid, we won't be going back. read more

My colleagues and I ate here recently while at Scott AFB for business. The service was spectacular. The decor is a traditional upscale steakhouse and appears not to have been modernized any time recently (no complaints about that though). The price is a little steep, but again you are paying for quality of food and service (around $30/plate). The meal was served with bread and a salad. I ordered the filet mignon with a baked potato as did one of my colleagues. My other colleague ordered the sirloin with french fries. We also ordered the lobster pastries as an appetizer which comes with four small pastries. My steak was cooked to a perfect medium as requested. Everyone else enjoyed their meals as well. The wine list was varied with extremely reasonable prices for the cost of the rest of the meal. Overall, the meal was tasty and high quality. Nothing trendy or unique, but a very traditional steakhouse atmosphere. I can not speak highly enough about the professionalism of the service. The fact that the dining room was mostly full on a Wednesday night speaks volumes. I took my wife out for a steak dinner a few nights ago. We had two appetizers, a (cheaper) bottle of wine, two steak dinners, and a piece of cheesecake. I know it is an "old school" steakhouse, but we were the youngest people there by 20 years -- everyone else appeared retired. The steaks weren't bad but they weren't great; I've done better on my Big Green Egg. They charge St. Louis-style prices without the excitement and energy...environment was a big let down. We won't be going here again, not because of poor service or substandard food, but because there are at least 5 steakhouses of superior quality in St. Louis, which is where we live anyway. read more

I can't believe I forgot to review Andria's. I was in back in early May for a business dinner. I had been to Andria's once before so I knew what I was getting into before getting there. Andria's is set in an old house, and the dining rooms are set up as such. There is not a large dinning room, rather they have a few smaller rooms set up. This makes for an intimate setting, it also allows a larger party to occupy a single room and have some privacy. We had several appetizers so I got to experience a few which I would normally not have the opportunity to do. We had the Toasted Ravs, grilled shrimp and a lobster turnover. The toasted ravs were pretty forgettable. Not that they were bad, just didn't stand out as really good. The grilled shrimp were better, but the lobster turnovers were the best. The turnover was flaky on the outside yet full of flavor when you took a bite. I ordered the Strip Steak, which is a 12-14oz New York Strip, cooked medium rare. It came out perfect and though I should have not ate the whole thing, I did. I know Andria's steak sauce is considered wonderful, but I prefer my steak without any type of sauce. Salt and pepper is just fine for me. Overall, Andria's is a great asset to have on this side of the river. I agree with Patrick that if it was in St Louis I doubt I would return, but if I am in need of a great steak in O Fallon I know where to start. read more

So, I really enjoyed my steak, the sauce or marinade they cook on the meat is very good. Unlike a lot of purists who demand their steak essentially be untouched by seasonings, I love different flavors on the cut. The decor is nice, it's definitely a "dress up for a date" kind of place, but is pretty expensive. Service was good. My only criticism is that the vegetables were salty to the point I couldn't eat them all. I probably should have said something at the time, but I think the marinade from the steak got on my side dish and that's what caused the issue, so maybe a separate dish for the side next time. We went to Andria's last night. I've heard so many great things about it and decided it probably was time to go after living here for 15 years. Our experience was kind of mixed. Salad was great with Andria's house dressing. My friend had soup and enjoyed that quite a bit. We both had prime rib, and it was definitely the largest steak I've ever been served anywhere, hands down. Cooked just right and was very tender and juicy, very tasty. I'm going to be eating leftover steak all week I think. Baked potato had a very nice horseradish sour cream that gave it a nice zip. OK wine selection, we chose a nice Cab to go with the steak and it complimented very nice. We asked for a taste before ordering the bottle and got a full glass to taste!! Loved that!! As for our waitress, she was definitely over worked that night, the only one taking care of the whole upstairs area. She was either rushing us through the meal or no where to be found, no in between. She treated us like we were inconveniencing her by being there. She even told us that the kitchen is really getting backed up so we need to get our order in. Atmosphere is a bit loud for an intimate evening but we enjoyed our time there. We were seated in a little alcove (or hallway, whichever you prefer to call it) which only allows 2 tables, by the back upstairs exit. It was much quieter than if we would have been seated in the main area so I was very pleased with the seating. They take reservations but not on Saturday... don't understand why that is... I guess I feel they should be accommodating to patrons every night. Overall we had a good experience, and I'm sure we will go back, just not for a while. read more

This was my second visit to Andria's, the first was in the year they opebed about 35 years ago. I don't know why it took me so long to return but after tonight's meal, I will make it a priority to come back often. The service was outstanding and the meal was perfect. We all started with a beautiful salad of mixed greens, tomato, red onion, calamata olives and croutons. My father and sister each had the small cut prime rib with baked potato and the cuts of meat were huge. They said it was some the most tender and flavorful beef they had tasted. I had the ribeye, medium with asparagus. Andria's uses their signature sauce to cook the steaks and the deep rich flavor this adds to the steak is indescribable. The steak was cooked perfectly and the asparagus, although very thin, we cook just right. I normally do not like any kind of marinade or sauce on my steak but this enhanced the beef flavor. I am so glad we rediscovered this jewel of a steak house in O'Fallon, IL. The service is friendly and on the ball. The steaks are char-grilled, generous in size and not over priced. Don't get me wrong, this place in not inexpensive but I feel you get your money's worth. The char-grilled shrimp in red pepper sauce is an excellent starter. If they had a more expansive wine list I would have rated it higher. The decor is old school but that just adds to the overall charm. It was absolutely wonderful the filet minion was perfectly cooked and if your looking for a good drink i personally recommend the amaretto sour. As i had several along with a lemon drop drink (dont remember the exact name but that one was personally a bit too bitter to side with such a well seasoned and cooked steak. I have eaten here now 3 times. Not once has it been good. An old schoolhouse turned steakhouse that is not near as good a chain brand name places down the street. At the end of the meal I paid more than other steakhouses and left hungry. The steaks we had were way overcooked and tough. The Andria's sauce with our meal we tried as it was recommended for us and it was awful. I am not sure how it is also sold in grocery stores nearby or who would buy it. The atmosphere is cozy, dark, romantic if you want a dining room that is outdated from the 80's or 90's. I was not impressed at all. After bringing to the attention of waitstaff the issues with meals such as steak not medium rare but overly well done until basically rubber they would not give new steaks to replace but told us they would just tell the chef. No other place would do so. They would make it right. Not once out of the 3 visits or 6 steaks ordered did one end up not overly cooked to rubber. Never going there again. read more

I really like the Andrias steak sauce so I have been wanting to go to this restaurant for a few years. Although my in-laws claimed that Andrias has gone "down hill" I managed to get them to go to dinner here. In the end they both said that their meal was excellent. We go out to eat frequently, but don't splurge on expensive restaurants very often. We went there Thursday, Dec. 29 to treat ourselves. We were seated in the bar area, which was fine. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. The grilled portobello mushroom was delicious, not hot, but still very tasty! The fresh bread and salads were amazing. Our entree, however, was less than desirable. I ordered a tenderloin filet medium well and twice baked potato. My steak was gray. It was so overcooked, and cold, I couldn't eat it. My twice baked potato was way undercooked. The "stuffing" of the potato was good, but the outside was crunchy. My husband ordered the sirloin to be cooked "medium"; it was RARE! He only ate a few bites. We didn't have the opportunity to send it back because our waitress disappeared. We finally flagged down our assistant waitress (our water girl) to inform her of our issues. She said she'd let the waitress know. The waitress finally came back and appologized, and offered us dessert...she didn't say "complimentary" dessert, just asked if we'd like dessert. At this point, we weren't hungry anymore, and quite frustrated with the food and the service. We took the steaks home but ended up throwing out the overcooked tenderloin. I know I've said it before, but it bears repeating: It's a beautiful thing when a restaurant lives up to your expectations. It's even more amazing when it surpasses them. My wife and I were staying only a mile away in Fairview Heights and, after reading so many positive reviews, decided to give this place a shot. From the moment we entered, we received great treatment from the hostess and our waitress. We were seated promptly and informed of the specials. Didn't take long to make a decision though - we both ordered the filet (hers the small, mine the large), though we chose different sides with her taking the baked potato and me taking the steak fries. Before the waitress left, I made sure to ask about the restaurant's steak sauce I had heard about. When the meal arrived, I began to question why I had ordered a side. The cut of meat I had requested was prepared to perfection and while it wasn't exactly necessary, the sauce was quite good. The fries were fine, and my wife gave rave reviews for the potato she had ordered. I took my time savoring the steak, drizzling the sauce over at times and just enjoying the cut as is for the most part. Sadly, the meal came to an end... but I made certain to ask for a bottle of the sauce before we had settled up. For the meal, the atmosphere, and the wonderful staff we had encountered the price was quite fair. I would highly recommend this place and can say without hesitation that if I'm in the Metro East area again, I'm going to make it a point to have at least one dinner here. read more

First time at Andreas and unfortunately it just didn't live up to the hype. We had the filet mignon and the ribeye. They were cooked well but just lacked in overall flavor. I had the ribeye cooked with their signature sauce and it just didn't do it for me. I think reputation had my hopes up and it just didn't deliver on the flavor. The service was great, and the atmosphere is very nice. While not overly expensive, $40 steak I hope it be better than what I get make in my own backyard. I give them 3 stars because nothing was actually bad, I just won't be back anytime soon given other options. if i could give 0 i would. i went yesterday for my birthday. we were so disappointed we had always heard this was good and we had an awful experience. we got there right at open for our 5 o'clock reservation. we got sat and got our drinks and ordered immediately. we got an appetizer which took 20+ minutes to come out. then we waited another 20+ for our salads. at this point we were getting a little annoyed because of the wait but the food so far was good so we didn't complain. fast forward to us being there for a hour and a half we finally grabbed the manager to ask her to check on our food since we had been there so long. 10+ minutes our food finally came out and it didn't look great. i got a 8oz filet med rare which was full of fat and completely overcooked and dry, no juices at all. my partner got the 12oz filet also med rare and same thing, overcooked and completely dry. upon further inspection our steaks had a layer of straight char that was covered in steak sauce. the steaks tasted awful because all you could taste was the burnt char and they were so salty we couldn't eat them. i also got a twice baked potato which was black and completely overcooked, i could throw it at the wall and it would probably bounce back hard. you could see the burnt old cheese that they tried to cover up with new cheese but it was obvious it was burnt and had been sitting in the window. no one came to check on us and our waitress disappeared for 30 minutes. it was such a disappointment and not how we excepted the service to be at such a nice place. the offered us a free desert for the wait (which we were already getting since we went for my birthday) and took of the appetizer. we waited and couldn't find anyone to tell about how bad the food was, everyone ignored us. finally we found our waitress but were so upset at this point since we had been there for 2 hours and had somewhere to be at 7 we just asked for the check and to leave. this is not worth it at all. we watched multiple people come in, order, eat, and leave before we even got our salads. very disappointed in the manager for not checking with us to see if the food was even good. this was not worth the 160 that we ended up spending. very upset and would like our money back 100% and this really but a damper on my birthday since we couldn't even celebrate since we were so upset with the service/food. read more
