I came here for dinner and it was a lovely experience. Our server was nice patient and sweet. He served us a free app of tomatoes and oil. My favorite part was the house made seasoning of garlic and pepper blend. I ordered the cheese pie that I saw so many reviews about. It was super tasty but I recommend sharing unless you looove cheese. After too many bites, you'll loose interest. The pistachios really add additional texture to the dish. Additionally, I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki. The plating is massive and the gyro is big as well. I felt the chicken was season welled and slightly juicy. The service was good overall, and the atmosphere is very open and almost feels corporate ? However, I went to Greece over the summer and I expected the food to not taste as good as Greece but at least taste pretty good for the price ??? The whole experience felt very lackluster. We started off with the meat skewers, and the house salad. The salad was very dill, but still very good. The lemon potatoes and chicken however, left a lot to be desired. We got the traditional tzatziki (AMAZING), charred eggplant (YUMMY), santorini favas (so freaking good!!!), and the best of all - spicy whipped feta. I love this spot and have been a handful of times for dinner, the food is ALWAYS spot on and the atmosphere is wonderful. I came in for brunch today and didn't feel I was met with the Andres Taverna quality I'm used to - the meat (both chicken and gyro meat) felt it had been dried out and burnt (almost as if it was from the previous day) and the brunch flavors were severely lacking. Great spot to come to with a big group! I made a reservation for 8 about a week in advance and even called to see if it could be 9 instead, and they were very nice and accommodating. We did have to wait about 20-30 min once we arrived for our reservation which they turned the table over, but we were seated at this interesting triangle table which was a new experience for me. Definitely better than one long table because you could see everyone! Not as good as a circle table though. The service was wonderful. They brought out a huge box for us to see all of the fish options, it was wild! The dips and spreads we shared were presented really nicely and delicious, most with a fun unique twist. I appreciated that everyone got their own pita for dipping, which made sharing easier too. We ordered the watermelon feta salad, potatoes, and a fish dish from the specials menu that day. The salad was yummy but really just a block of watermelon with a piece of feta and avocado on top, so a little underwhelming of a presentation. The potatoes were delicious. The fish was really yummy and flavorful, but I found the bones to be quite annoying and hard to find. The espresso martini I got was also really good! Overall it was a fun place to come for a celebratory group dinner. Good food and ambiance, just not any dishes I am still thinking about, although I enjoyed it a lot. If you sit at the bar make sure Jeremy takes care of you - he is THE BEST, he makes amazing cocktails and is engaging with the customers and has an eye out for anyone who may look like they're not getting fast enough service and he goes and helps them out. The rest of the place could take a tip or two from him. We had a reservation but waited almost an hour past it for a table to open up. The manager apologized and gave us some tomatoes and oil which was nice but the rest of the meal was just ok, and at the end the waiter got us our check so fast it was like they were waiting to bulldoze the place down. I figured waiting patiently for a table for that long and spending that much on food and drinks. They would've at least wanted to see if we were done yet. I was rather underwhelmed, especially for the price. Service was terrible. We went for brunch during restaurant week and waited a bit despite having a reservation. We then waited a while to order. While the cold mezze and salad came in a reasonable time, but after we finished and they picked up those plates, we wanted at least 30-45 minutes for our entrees. Our server came by after maybe 20-30 minutes to apologise and kept saying "sorry we're just busy because of restaurant week" OK, but it's not like you added extra tables, you sat the tables you have, so what you're saying is you have more seats than you can actually handle. When the entrees finally came out, it was all just rather OK for me. The pitas are rather thin and didn't hold shape well which meant you couldn't eat it like a pita. The octopus was cooked well but didn't really have much flavor; right texture but under seasoned. And my wife got the gyro meat but I've definitely had better gyro meat. It wasn't bad by any means but it wasn't unique or memorable in any way either. Hopefully others have better experiences and don't mind paying up. read more

Their slogan "A Good Place to Eat" certainly describes my experience at Andros Taverna. My husband and I met a group of friends here for dinner a few weeks ago. Our first impression was that the room is beautiful and inviting. They gave us a seat right in the middle of the restaurant, but there is also excellent outdoor seating, too. The atmosphere was lively. Service was excellent. Our waitress took the time to explain the menu and entrees, and guide us through our meal. We ordered the Roasted Calamari and the Charred Eggplant to share with the table. Both were excellent. I kept it simple and ordered the Chicken Souvlaki--it was flavorful and delicious. I had a hard time cutting it with my knife. I sent it back and ordered the lamb chops. The order was 3 lollipops, one of which was almost entirely hard fat and inedible. For $50!!! All 3 pieces were lukewarm. It came with a red sauce that added no value and tasted like it came from a can. The bartender was accommodating and very polite. We had dinner here on Christmas Eve - my kids, nephew, brother, and me. When our server first came to us, she seemed knowledgeable and helpful, but she became less and less so and eventually started to get snippy and argumentative. At first, we were trying to place our order and she said, " I'm just answering questions right now ". With drinks - they brought out a bourbon on the rocks when we had ordered it neat. No big deal - they brought us a new one right away. But then when we ordered another, they brought it on the rocks again. We ordered fish and the price on the menu is per pound, but the fish was apparently 1 1/2 pounds - prior to it being filleted at our table. After deboning and skinning it was about 1/2 pound and had very little flavor and cost $87. I spoke with the waitress about the eggplant dish both during the time when she was " only answering questions " and then again when we ordered. After everything else we ordered had come out, I asked her where the eggplant dish was, and she said " we don't have any side dishes that are eggplant ". It was strange - she acted as if I had never mentioned eggplant to her. Their in-house soda was $4.50 per glass, which I understand because it was made in the house. But then when my kids ordered a simple Diet Coke they charged $4.50 per glass as well. Our bill ended up to be over $700, with tip. I gave her 20% only because I knew I was going to write this review later. And I didn't want to upset my kids on Christmas Eve. There was a really nice woman there who had a cute sweater on. She helped us out for a few minutes and she was soooooo helpful! Too bad she wasn't there to guide us through the experience. Fair warning. I would recommend Andros Taverna for a special occasion meal, but a bit reluctantly. We had just a small sampling of their weekend brunch/lunch menu, but we came away a little disappointed. First, what was not disappointing was the service, which was absolutely top notch. I would give them five stars if there was a standalone service rating. We had phenomenal recommendations from our server on the patio (lunchtime 9/2), and I'm kicking myself for not remembering her name. We were treated so well that we would consider returning. The food had us on the fence. My husband had a half order (two tentacles) of the Mediterranean octopus, which was probably the best I've ever had. It was perfectly cooked and accompanied by a lemon-olive oil dressing that complemented it beautifully. I had the sardine special, which I enjoyed but was a little too light on the fresh herbs and needed a little acid. For a light lunch, the bill was VERY steep. I usually don't take issue when ingredients are high quality like they are here - and certainly restaurants are in a tough spot with inflation - but I left feeling like it was not worth the cost.
