I ordered a meal on Caviar, waited 45 minutes, and then they cancelled with no explanation around the time my order was supposed to arrive. When I called to figure out why my order was cancelled, no one answered. Seems like they closed sometime after my order was placed and just decided to cancel it rather than fulfill it. Now all of the other places I would have ordered from are closed as well. This is not a good first impression. Rather than a potential return customer, you just get this review. Loved both experiences at Andros, and I'm excited to go back soon! First time, my boyfriend and I went on the opening weekend, and we were blown away by each item that came out. The pitas are fluffy little pillows, and the staff is so friendly and great at making suggestions! Second time, I had dinner with a group of friends and Jesse, our server, made our night so much fun! Don't be fooled by the prices on this menu - it is waaay over priced. While the small salad was fresh it would be a $10 salad at best. The gyro sandwich was low quality meat and sub-average for $28!! You could consider this place only if they drop their prices by at least 50% read more

As a Greek myself, I must say it feels like my yiayia (grandma) is back in the kitchen cooking but then I look around and I'm in a super cute restaurant sipping a wonderful crisp white Greek wine (recommended by our amazing & friendly waitress.) The food is very authentic & fresh but with a slight modern twist. My friend and I ordered a bunch of dishes and I wish we had more room in our belly's to try them all. The whipped feta was great, the friend zucchinis were fried to perfection (not super fried like you usually get at other Greek restaurants) The Dolmas were perfection! Since I am now pescatarian I am sad to say these usually have ground beef in them BUT they were prepared with pine nuts instead of meat which made them avail for me to indulge for a change & I sure did, yum! Don't skip on the salads either, the veggies were so fresh and delicious. I will be back to try more dishes soon & hopefully I'll save room for dessert then too :) read more

Quality food, service, incredible flavors. We usually like to try a new restaurant every time we go out but we will revisit andros in the very near future. So much left to try. Yes the mezze platter was amazing. Octopus was out of this world and such a great portion of protein. The cheese app with the phyllo dough put us way over the edge of very full and we didnt have room for dessert (sadly). I still have to much left to try so it's a must to bring 4 people if you can so you can get a wide variety of flavors. While the prices may seem steep, they really aren't considering the quality and heaviness of the dishes. Great atmosphere and location. read more

Came here for Greek Easter on Sunday 4/24- salad , calamari and wine were good ..only reason why giving 2 stars not ZERO . We came here when they first opened and it was good . . The main dishes including a supposed ' evening special ' - lamb BBQ rib were burnt and very dry besides only 2 having meat and the supposed 'family recipe ' eggplant mousska dry and no flavor much less layers .. it appeared burnt on the top- not creamy . We would have sent the dishes back but the service was horrible - and by this time we just wanted to get out of there . It pained me to write a previous review where I was disappointed that Andros Taverna had not lived up to the perfection of previous visits, but given the opportunity to dine there again, we eagerly accepted. This time, I can honestly say that Andros Taverna was fantastic in every way. From our warm greeting, to the last bite of baklava fro-yo, we were in heaven. The two of us devoured two orders of the warm village sesame bread - that's how good it was. The taramosalata was smooth and creamy, without a hint of fishiness, and topped with a dollop of fish roe for a bit of crunch. The beet salad with feta and pistachios was absolutely delicious. Pristine sea bass with crispy, garlicky lemon potatoes was our delectable main dish. And yes, the baklava frozen yogurt was addicting. Service was exceptional, with Katlyn guiding our choices and pacing our meal just right. She is so knowledgeable, kind, and friendly. We had a wonderful dinner and evening at Andros Taverna this time, so it is with great delight that I write this review. The slate is now wiped clean. read more

We came for brunch on a busy Sunday. They are clearly in over their heads. We had to wait at the hostess stand even with reservations. Hipster 'tude and rude. We were seated at the worst table next to the kitchen door (again, hostess had a 'tude to this Boomer) even with other tables available. It took OVER 45 minutes for someone to take our order (at this point its been an hour since arrival), only to be told that several items (yes, more than one) were sold out. Then another long wait for the food. Once the food arrived, it was very good. Clearly the hype for this place is in the wonderful food. The watermelon and feta salad was amazing. Everything was good, some better than others but all very high-level cooking. It is pricey, especially in light of the bad, disorganized service. What a fantastic place! I'm a newbie in the neighborhood and was looking to try all the variety of restaurants in the area. So far this has been my absolute favorite! Place seems to be busy all the time so reservations are highly recommended. Some of my faves includes the octopus, Greek fries, lemon potatoes and zucchini chips. Salads are simple but very flavorful. The spritz drinks are my new favorite cocktail for the summer. Place is beautifully decorated with all the greenery and love all the open windows during a summer night. My friends and I truly enjoy coming here at least once a week. read more

This restaurant was a very expensive disappointment for a number of reasons. First of all, the menu is both in a foreign language and lacking a listing of the most basic ingredients. I mean if it were to go to Greece, at least I would have had a chance to research the local food specialties and know what I wanted to eat. Here I had to ask the waitress, (and maybe it was her first day?) what every item was. Spanikopita for instance. What is that? Why would I want to order it? Do I like the ingredients? Who knows, because they are not listed. Next, everything we ordered was basically the exact same-- something swimming in copious amounts of butter-- or maybe it was oil--(who knows,?) some dill, garlic and maybe some lemon. Everything was swimming! The roasted octopus--which was very good--was the exception. The lamb, the potatoes, the (1/2 pickled?) asparagus, and the soft shell crab were all swimming in virtually identical sauces. Lastly the latte was delivered Tepid, to cold, and the only things lacking butter were the cookies, one place where I always hope to discern it. In short, nothing Is light, as one would expect from a Mediterranean menu, but you will not know that until your food arrives, unless you ask an informed waitress what everything means, and is. Also it is very very loud, and oddly, our table was engulfed in a cloud of burning sage at one point, which the waitress said was to mask the smells from outdoors? (It also masked smells indoors.) I think the menu could easily be altered to be more informative, and lightening up and varying the sauces could fix the monotony problem. I hope they make some changes. Or I read more

Nice try at modernizing the Greek cuisine but no restaurant can attain "authentic" status. Nice buildout. Inevitably it will take a direction away from tradition and appeasing a true mainlander's palate. It is ambitious to attempt to merge a taverna into fine dining, but hey it is a rehash of the corporate like attempt previously seen. Lamb is good. Pastries were well thought-out. I have always had the desire to visit this restaurant and sample their various dishes because I am always hearing about them from my friends. Because they are a regular customer of this restaurant, I cannot help but wonder what it is about this place that they adore so much. And it was only a week ago that I made up my mind to come here and sample some of their food for the first time. And I have to say that they do have a reason why they have always want to come to this restaurant and eat here. Because there is no denying the fact that the food here is so tasty and has a wonderful flavor. The food is flavorful and cooked to a high standard. We visited Andros twice with friends' invitations. Some dishes in menu like zucchini flowers, dolmates were not available despite Tuesday. Tastes were not as tasty as you read in menu. Usually they were served cold. Zuccini chips no salt, Gyro had cinnamon on top which was very weird. Perhaps chef meant to put black peppers. Waiters were very busy to take orders or to bring our wine. High expectations but not met - disappointment. read more

My husband and I loved our meal the first time and went back with our baby one evening. Unfortunately, we were seated much later than our reservation and our meals took a really long time. I think this is the best dinner date I ever had with my boyfriend! I love the place, I love how romantic the theme is inside. This totally gave me the ambiance that made me feel so love. I really thought that we will only celebrate our monthsary in a simple restaurant. But he totally surprised me! The place looks magical, and the food is so delicious. The staffs are all accommodating also. They are good in entertaining and the guy who asked for our order looks so trained as he memorized so well the menu and definitely knows a lot about the dishes they are offering. He recommends us also their best dishes and their best seller. We ordered a lot like their dishes Togo Mezze, pritz cocktails, the anitho, Lobster Spaghetti, and more! Food and service were both great. Beautiful place and ambiance! We started with the Phyllo Spanakopita which was VERY good. Smaller Andros Salad was big enough for two to share. Octopus was VERY good. Spanikoriso VERY good. Gyros was a bit underwhelming. Vanilla Soufra was ok. For red wine, preferred Domaine Zafeirakis to Domaine Tatsis. Lamb chops, sea bass, and charcoal chicken are all at the the top of the list for next time. But I will definitely have Phyllo Spanakopita, Octopus, and Spanikoriso again. read more

This place is bad. Food was bad, the prawns were overcooked despite there being only 6 of them in my entree. The boar macaroni you have to hunt for the sprinkles of boar in the giant bowel of noodles. The calamari overcooked. The service was bad. Appetizer took 30 minutes to come out. Entrees took about 45! minutes to come out and our waiter was a ghost. We had 5 different people at our table. This place is pretentious and the food is too mediocre to justify it. It took everything in me to not just walk out after waiting an hour. Blows my mind how awful everything was. My fiance and I stumbled on this place while walking the neighborhood during a rare a 70F afternoon in April and it is a great add to the Logan Square area! The service, food quality, wine and cocktails were excellent. We received a warm welcome when entering, and our server was attentive and knowledgable. Their indoor/outdoor setup and booth shields provided a COVID-safe and pleasurable dining experience. My choice of wine (Tyrnavos 2017) paired well with the Mezze collection dish, and my fiance enjoyed the Midas Touch. In the Mezze collection dish the meat was well-seasoned, the spreads each had their own distinct flavors, and the pita bread was seasoned, warm and soft! We look forward to returning! read more

We just had an amazing dinner at Andros. I had a small issue with my reservation and ended up having to sit at the bar but it was a blessing in disguise. Our server/bartender Nelson was amazing. Not only did he have great recommendations for the drinks but he was super knowledgeable about the food options and preparations. He had wonderful suggestions and everything was absolutely delicious.
