First of all, it's frozen custard, NOT ice cream! It is not just frozen custard either, it's the most delicious frozen custard I have ever tasted in my life. If I don't have Andy's at least twice a week I go into a severe depression until I have a sundae or concrete in my hands! But seriously, the custard is silky smooth. It's made fresh hourly which I have witnessed several times by sitting outside the Andy's window and watching it slowly pour out from the machine. I've tried every single concoction they've made since moving to the Concord area a year ago. My favorites have been the cherry pie concrete, pumpkin pie concrete, chocolate cake sundae, blueberry cobbler sundae & concrete, lemon bar concrete and strawberry shortcake sundae. The shakes and sodas are amazing. Also, the cones are made fresh daily and really good. Best of all you can customize your custard any way you want which is great for cravings. I promised you that even if you get a simple cone or cup of Andy's frozen vanilla custard you will be hooked. I've had friends come from out of town and have their minds blown away by this stuff. Of course I joined the rewards program to get notifications on the new desserts that will be featured and get points for purchases. Who doesn't love free frozen custard for being a loyal customer. Needless to say I get those freebies quite often. Clearly I'm obsessed with Andy's. Depending on how long the drive thru line is, I usually take my Andy's to go, but on those hot summer nights there's nothing like sitting outside and enjoying my little cup of frozen heaven. Went here a little before 8 pm Friday night. Only a few cars were in front of us as we were looking over the menu. After like a min, a huge line of cars were behind us lol. U have to pull up to the drive thru window to tell the person what u want. Took only about 5 mins for our orders to be made. Service here was quick! This place looks like a flashback from the 1950's. I went here in January and at first, I wasn't all that happy with my ice cream, but then something happened. The folks at Andy's reached out to me and remade it. The second time around, my concrete treat was delicious! I got a concrete with waffle cones mixed in, and hot fudge on top. I was impressed by their dedication to making their customers happy. It was an entirely different experience. They had someone outside to take the order so that the line moved more quickly. They provided a top for the ice cream, still no whipped cream, but I'll be going back to experience more of their never ending, yummy customized creations. read more

There is no inside access, and most people stay in their cars and wait their turn. Overpriced. Under mixed. Never the same taste. Their "milk" that is used for the shakes, is often spoiled. The kids who work there do not check it daily before serving the spoiled milk. They play on their phone or run around the store. The store is semi dirty every time I go (the kids love the "custard" idea). This was on my list to try while I was in the Concord area. Since I was getting it to go, a pint was the only thing that made sense. I don't like chocolate, so this left me with butter pecan as a pint flavor option. They have a drive through which worked well for Covid-19. The employee had a mask on as well. The pint was pretty good. I would really be interested in one of the build your own options, so I'd come back again sometime when I was going to eat it right away. I'm not sure what happened to this location, but I don't like the winter crew. We've been coming here for a couple years now, mostly during the summer and the team was always quick and kind. My husband and I visited 2 weeks in a row and both times were not good. First time, we walked up to the patio window and it took the team A WHILE to approach. At the time of walking up there were only 3 cars in the drive through which got taken care of eventually before we were greeted. 2 previous customers had to come back to get there order fixed because they were long. Our 2 items took about 10+ minutes to come out. Second time, line was long which is fine. That's normal for Andy's, but again. Service seemed half a** and it took a little while. There is an employee wearing her shirt like she's at the club. Buttons open and hanging off her shoulder. I don't care how people dress but to me that seems careless and sloppy at work. Her hair wasn't even tied back at all. Service is meh, could've been better. Lastly, WHY ARE THE SUNDAES ADVERTISED WITH CHERRIES WHEN I NEVER GET A F**cling CHERRY?? Tried Andy's frozen custard for the first time. When you drive up you get a chance to look at the menu before someone asks you if you need help. I really like that that way I have a chance to look at it see what I really want to get. When I'm ready I can pull up to the next area and I'm able to give my order. They have tons of choices and lots of variations. Too many to list. Staff were really nice. As soon as we pulled up my dog was looking out the window. They asked then gave him a mini ice cream cone. Teddy was thrilled! It was a great gesture. The custard was really good. Wish I could try everything as everything looked amazing. This is a definitely a place I will come back to. read more

I really hate to write this because we've been loyal customers for years, but after several recent negative experiences, especially tonight - I have to say that this location has completely gone downhill! 1. They never have items in stock. Tonight, for example, they didn't have bananas, strawberries or waffle cone. 2. We witnessed two separate groups walk up to the patio window for service. The workers inside just stared at them and never came to the window. The customers even knocked on the glass window, but the workers continued to ignore them! Both groups eventually left without ever getting service. 3. Cars were wrapped around the building tonight, which is typical, but service took longer than usual. We witnessed the workers inside on their phones texting, FaceTiming and even dancing around with ice cream cones (which were given to customers)! 4. The exterior lights are never on, so the entire place is pitch dark at night. Signs on the building (which typically gave it such a cool vibe) are mostly all burnt out. We're hopeful management can address these recurring issues and turn this place back into what it used to be. Until then, we will take our weekly business elsewhere. read more

We tried to go yesterday during the $3 latte deal, but no one knew how to make the drink. So, we were unable to try it. So, so sorry Culver's and Freddy's, I've defected to Andy's Frozen Custard for the foreseeable future. I hadn't been to Concord too often in the past few months, so I totally missed out on knowing that this place had been built. When I noticed, I made a mental note to return because it was closed by the time I saw it. I love the old school style, and the bright lights help it stand out amongst other eateries in the plaza. I was quite delighted to see a drive thru available, although most of the customers were sitting and standing outside the shop enjoying their treats. Andy's differs from Freddy's/Culver's by offering to have a selection of toppings not only mixed into the custard, but another in the center, or the core as they call it. Makes it a bit more interesting to eat, and just as delicious. They offer pre-selected options, or create your own. The concrete was well mixed, and ample toppings. No skimping over here. Don't hesitate, just grab your friends and family, and go. Word of warning, start with the smallest size. I'm not sure what size we were given, but we sadly had to throw in the towel with about an inch of custard left in the cup. This coming from two ice cream fanatics. I just got a Vanilla Cone ,, supposedly two scoops . The guy who waited on me must have been the owner or something . He didn't care for me just ordering two scoops which , mind you , cost 3.20. There was more like one scoop on there and absolutely nothing inside the cone . I could have bought a whole pint and been better off . Cheap wad . It took me like one second to eat the half -melted already, one scoop they gave me . You would think that if they make their ice cream once an hour like they claim that they could have given a decent portion to the ONLY customer they had . Really?? I would never go there again . I've only gotten 1 sundae from here but every time I'm in the Concord area, I have to get it! The Stolen Brownie Sundae has vanilla custard, warm brownie chunks, hot fudge, and pecans. I gave a 3-star review because the custard is delicious. But, the last couple of times I went there, they barely gave a full scoop for a fudge sundae. I had to ask for more of the fudge cause there was barely enough on it to eat half (it's a hot fudge sundae after all.) I was with an old friend, who was in town, and wanted her to enjoy the custard. All I have to say is I love a good concrete ice cream!! It makes u smile on a bad day, and allows you to eat ur feelings and stress away on really challenging day! And Andy's didn't disappoint, I feel any of their concoctions will be a hit! I loved being able to see them make everything through the windows, and the look of the building has the nostalgia of the old time ice cream joints. My only complaint was my wife's was pulverized so it was almost liquid and no sign of brownie pieces, however we stuck it in the freezer and was still delicious.
