Custard doesn't get a fair shake in the dairy dessert world of Ice Cream, Gelato since both seem healthier, but are relatively not. Any Italian will tell you how rich Ice Cream is compared to Gelato and most Americans wont be able to tell whats worse for you Ice Cream or Custard considering the egg yolks really do make it richer. As a Californian visiting my sister and doing a BBQ tour I was kind of tired of banana pudding, peach cobbler and as much as I love both (also pecan pie). Something about the roasted and sugared pecans really does go with everything. The softness, cold pairs with the crunch and richness and the nuttiness. Rico Suave was amazing, great choice when I asked the staff what they reccomend. I came back the following day to try their turtle split. Something about the hot fudge and custard not being too old really keeps things from freezing. Add the marshmallow cream is a real blend of the regular banana split and the turtle. Service was great, good reccomendations from the staff and friendly locals waiting for their orders. Prices are affordable, portions are large. I can only imagine how popular this place is in the summer, I came during a cold front, a light freeze, a cold snap as you will. Although I walked here I could see the need for more outdoor seating despite seeing mostly car traffic there are neighborhoods and a school nearby. I'm hoping next time I come back they have their seasonal key lime flavors. Honestly, this place is very overhyped. The first bite is amazing but as you continue eating it just gets wayyy too sweet. I normally really like sugary things too. There is also no indoor seating so you have to order outside and sit on the benches and eat. This is something you get like once every 3 months and decide that it's too much sugar and you don't want it again until you do. (How I feel everytime I have it). You can't ever have a bad time at Andy's. While I don't eat Andy's a lot, when I do, it always puts a smile on my face. Followed by intense regret of course, because no one needs this much sugar. I've tried many of their flavors, but as someone who doesn't eat a lot of sugary treats, I can rarely finish even a small one. So I usually stick with the items with fruit in it like the peach concrete. What I do love is that the menu changes pretty frequently as they add in seasonal items. I want to say they had a blackberry cobbler concrete several years ago that I loved and often think fondly of. Yum. I've been on a hot fudge sundae kick lately and decided to try Andy's to see how they compared to other sundae 's I've had. I came on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't to busy so I had time to look at the menu even though I knew what I was getting. I ordered the tin roof sundae which is their hot fudge sundae with spanish peanuts and a cherry on top. I will say the sundae was pricey, 6 dollars is a bit much in my opinion but it was delicious! The vanilla custard and hot fudge was top tier. I loved the peanuts, but the skin on the peanuts slightly disturbed the experience. While there were several cars in line, there was no wait at the counter. I ordered a small James Brownie Funky Jackhammer, but received another surprise when it was upgraded to a medium. Free upgrades will always be accepted. The vanilla frozen custard tasted great especially with the brownie and hot fudge. Although the hot fudge should never be forgone, it was slowly softening the frozen custard. It was a race to finish the dessert before it turned into a milkshake. The outside had some tables but didn't look too comfortable bc they weren't shielded from the sun. The my had a lot of choices which sounded really good. Nothing really crazy- classic but goodies. We got the boot daddy - hot fudge, Carmel, and Oreo cookies concrete. It was super delicious and it came to us super fast in the drive thru. Why a 4- for "concrete"- it was kind of melty on the sides already when we received it and it was rather pricey. $5.62 for a small. The Oreo Concrete was really good! It's a good amount so it's really great to share, and you can ask for another cup + spoon if you want to split it. The custard is really smooth and rich, plus the crushed Oreo bits add a really nice crunch. The custard and all of its' offerings is truly amazing; however, signing up for the loyalty program, specifically through the iOS App is a demoralizing beat down! First, the app does not allow me to input my physical card issued at installation/sign up of a new account, but "no problem, I will just enter after the fact". Which leads to number 2, after disabling the pre-selected digital account, it now will NOT allow me to switch card numbers because the email and phone number is already in use on another card! So, the visits already accumulated on the physical card are lost. Come for the custard, skip the deplorable, physical, loyalty card. read more

Great ice cream (frozen custard), Italian ice, sundaes, shakes, and more! The drive-through is super quick and the team are pleasantly professional! I love the James Brownie Fudge Jackhammer + Creme Carmel, its vanilla frozen custard with brownie bites & peanut butter blended together with creme carmel with a core column of fudge in the center.
