Home away from home. You know how everyone always looks for the Cheers bar? The one where everybody knows your name? Yeah this is that bar! The beer is fantastic. One of the few locations that doesn't concentrate all energies on IPAs. They really like to do broad styles of beers and have some of the best Stouts, Porters, and Brown Ales in town! This place is also constantly having events. You can enjoy the main bar area with the giant group table in the center. Individual private tables along the walls. Great window seating for NOT WINTER. They also have the enclosed alley space, which is often used for private events or open for more comfy seating. Larger parties and events happen in the back parking lot! This is a cool spot. The brewery renovated an old building and turned it into a social space. I really like when they open the garage doors on nice days. The beer is all right, however the tap list is inconsistent. They seem to brew their beers on a whim, so sometimes they go heavy on a style of beer. I don't mind breweries that experiment, however it would be nice to have a couple of base beers on tap that I know I can count on. You may want to check the online tap list before you visit. Well, I figure that you would be going there for the beer, right? Yeah, most people probably do and Transport has been brewing some fairly good beer. Downtown Shawnee has become a very bustling spot and Transport has affixed itself right in the middle of the action, serving up some of their finest craft brew. The space has expanded and there are ample areas in which to enjoy your beer. We are in Kansas, however, so you can't take it outside, but when the garage door is open, there's plenty of airflow and plenty of spots to enjoy. Transport will partner with food trucks from around the area to bring in something for you to pair up and nosh on and they've had pretty good success with that. The staff is friendly and really knows their beer menu, which range from lighter ales through malty and even heavier lagers. You hopheads are never left out, though, because there is always an IPA or sour to be had. My only knock is that the space is not really conducive for any kind of event in which you need audio. The rafters are somewhat open, and the sound system, well...it's...pretty substandard. So events like trivia night or music bingo become difficult to clearly hear, but that's something that could be improved quickly. Pricing is fairly level with other brewers on the block (heck, there's like three other places within crawling distance) and parking is pretty easy if you know the area. The Staff here makes you feel like family, They are all such great individuals. The location can get a little full at times but the staff does a great job at making sure that the line moves quickly. They do a good job of rotating beers. Usually there is a beer for everyone's taste on tap. They also have a selection of non-Alcoholic beer. read more

Transport Brewery is in beautiful downtown Shawnee where the microbrewery scene is thriving. This brewery is dog-friendly, so that immediately sets a welcoming tone - it's a perfect spot for pet owners to enjoy a drink with their furry doggo friends. The tasting room (as seen in the photos) gives off a cool, hipsterish, and inviting ambiance...on top of that, there's a really diverse clientele, drawing in everyone from hipster lovers of craft beer to retirees searching out a refreshing beverage. Here's the downside: On our visit, the selection of beers was limited to approx 6. There was no IPA on tap as there usually is. Not sure I can continue frequenting a brewery without IPA, as that is a cardinal sin. So let's hope this was a never-to-be-repeated breakdown in the machinery that customarily produces fine IPAs that never fail to make me happy. Finally got to try Transport and really enjoyed it! I pass by it often and it typically seems to have a good crowd inside. I like the seating arrangement inside and with the weather being nice they had the window open which made it all the better. The bartender seemed excited to tell me what beers they had to offer and told me about their Mug Club which seems like a great deal. They're pretty IPA heavy currently these days it being springtime. I'm not much of an IPA guy myself but I was still in luck as their Prost! kolsch and Lake Quivira Light lager are delicious. I believe they have special deals on Thursdays and Sundays as well that you'll have to ask about. Transport is a good time! read more

I was immediately put at ease when I walked in. The wavy center table is beautiful and gives the place a cohesive feeling. I came in for the dune buggy (Berliner Weise with prickly pear) and it didn't disappoint. They are also dog friendly which makes me happy. They have trivia on Wednesday nights at 7. There is also a hot dog vendor called Scotty cs but it looks like they have a rotating food truck schedule. This is a super cute area and I want to continue to explore. read more

This brewery can be found in the heart of downtown shawnee. I love the stone walls that are throughout the taproom, it makes it feel fancy and gives off that earthy smell. Right outside the brewery they have a dedicated parking spot for a food truck to join the fun. Every Tuesday and Thursday there is a taco truck parked out front that offers great deals. We all really liked the interior, with plenty of seating and this curious room next door that I didn't get a chance to look at but it seemed like maybe a gaming room?? Still not sure. There are a lot of breweries popping up all over town but Transport seems to have something a bit different. From the outside, it's just a spot at Johnson Drive and Nieman Road, but inside it has a comfortable feel with a side room that opens to the outside via a huge garage door. When we visited, a global cuisine food truck pulled up and parked just outside, adding the bonus of getting some food while trying a few craft beers. Although I'm not much of a beer drinker, I really did enjoy their "Forgotten Fruit" a Berliner Weisse. Perfect for a warm summer day and on the lighter side, which I prefer. Great beer, great atmosphere and they even have games! I loved finding this random hole in the wall on Johnson Drive and have been back quite a few times to introduce new friends to it. Their beer selection is vast and there really is something for everybody. Can you take home beer to-go or just sit and relax. It's pretty spacious, so when it comes to COVID, I have felt pretty comfortable here! I recommend if you're interested in a casual beer or two after work. There isn't a ton more around that area, but you can definitely make a night of it if you're not looking for a huge variety of places to go. Make sure you check out the random hole in the floor that you can see down through to the basement! So random! read more

We have been waiting for what seemed like forever for this new brewery close to us to open...I can say, it was worth the wait. We were both very impressed with the design, energy, and crowd in this new spot. The beer was great. I'm sure it will be tweaked as time goes on, but I was a huge fan of both the Coffee Stout and the Hybrid Stout. My wife loved the Amber Ale. I typically lean towards dark beers and I'm pretty picky, these held their own amongst some of my favorite craft brews. Even though the space was very crowded it remained efficient. If I have one complaint, the chair stools that are around the main side of the brewery are incredibly uncomfortable. The seat is tiny and the bars from the back dig into the sides of your legs, you also slip off them over and over. Granted I'm not a tiny person, but even my smaller friends mentioned how awkward they were. The backless stools along the window would have been far more universal and a better fit I think. We can't wait to see what's to come for this place and look forward to going back. Thanks! read more

Stumbled upon this place while we were walking to Servaes. Had no idea there was another brewery just down the street! The vibes inside were chill. Beer-tender was friendly and the beer was good. They had a very limited beer selection, and the worker even said so. Said they were light on beer and to come back in a few days when they tap more. No sours on tap, but they said they usually have 1-2. I opted for the hazy IPA, and it was good. There was a taco food truck outside but not open yet (4pm). Dogs are allowed inside which is cool. Windows were open on the nice sunny day. I would try it again and see if the beer selection is better next time. Overall liked the vibe and am excited to see the Shawnee town growing with businesses. read more

I visited this place a while back and it was so good that I had to come back. Every Tuesday they have a different taco truck showing off their cooking skills and trust me, I'm OK with that. Today's tacos were from Taco Ta-Go, I had the pork and carne asada and they were so good that I went back for seconds! This brewery has a good partnership going here and it's working out very well for its customers. Kudos to whoever came up with the idea. By the way, I would strongly suggest getting a beer called the Trop Doctor while it's still on tap, it's great. Most of the customers keep ordering it, it's like "wow"! read more

For the 5th Saturday in a row during the Covid -19 pandemic, I ventured out to a brewery and brought home some beer to enjoy while doing some yard work. This was my first time to visit Transport, I actually wasn't sure if I would visit Transport or the other brewery a block away, but when I saw the cool old rock building and the licence plate sculpture in the window, I was sold and I found a place to park. The interior was just as interesting and primitive - in a rural Kansas prairie sort of way. I took home a crowler of "Monk in a Full Nelson" a single Belgian at 5.2 ABV for $12. Tasty, smooth and making me desire another one upon completion. My only complaint and it did leave a bitter taste in my mouth, unlike the Belgian, was the customer service. After driving 18 miles, and passing at least 12 breweries that were closer, I kinda was hoping to be welcomed or thanked for being a customer. The guy behind the counter acted as if I was interrupting something important. After taking my order and running my card - and I did leave a tip, he sat my beer in a bag on the counter about 3 feet from me and walked away. In my naive manner, I thought he might be walking to get me a sticker, or menu or a coupon...but no he was just done. I had to ask across the room, "is this mine?"; he responded with a quick yes, but my mind heard - "Yeah and stop bothering me". Yup! Full flavored beers and great community tables for meeting up with your loved ones. I had this brewery bookmarked for so long and was thrilled, when asked, to meet my favorite yelpers here for some Sunday Funday! Parking lot behind the building with a back door entrance. Transport Brewery is a great addition to this part of Shawnee. The vibe is really cool with swanky furniture, a stone wall, beer garden, and a resident dog. I do think the atmosphere would be a little more inviting if they turned the lights down a bit. It was really bright the night we visited, which was a bit uninviting but it didn't stop us from trying a few brews! I love that Transport offers tastes of their beer menu items, but I didn't love that I waited in line for a while waiting to pay my bill while a group in front of me tasted several beers. I would love for the bartender to have acknowledged me while they took their time deciding and tasting. The beer itself was nice and cold, flavorful, and overall really good. We had a nice evening at Transport and we will be back sometime in the near future. read more

I had my first Transport Brewery experience this past weekend, and I was not disappointed! Between the five of us that went to Transport, I think we sampled most of the beers. With the exception of the Whole Damn Fruit Cart, I liked each beer that I tried! My opinion on the Whole Damn Fruit Cart is probably more of a reflection of my opinion on jalapeno versus the beer itself. Of all the beers I sampled, my favorites were probably the Hella Bougie (hazy IPA) and the Amelia (Blonde Ale). There are also plenty of food options available at Transport. I had some AMAZING barbeque nachos. Even if beer isn't your thing, Transport is worth a stop if only for the nachos. I'll definitely be back! read more

This is probably one of our favorite breweries! Between my boyfriend and I, we've visited several times and will continue coming back. We lover everything about the space and the beer. The space is inviting and provides a sense of community. There's a lot of seating options from tables to a couch in the side room. There's also a wide selection of games to play! We now have a few favorites and watch the menu for when our favorites rotate in/out. I love the CarHop, a cherry lime berliner weisse and we both love the El Camino, a margarita radler. They also have a really good coffee stout that's even served in a coffee mug! While we haven't made a flight yet, we're definitely considering it next time, because there are several brews we have yet to try. The food from Sancho's next door is absolutely delicious too. Go on Tuesday - two tacos and a beer for $10! An added bonus - they are dog friendly! We've taken our Stella dog a few times and they've been very welcoming. We're really appreciate it! read more

Beers were excellent. I had the car hop which had great Glover but the smell was ugh. Only two small tv's so can't stay too long here. The koelsch was tasty beer too. Just a quick updated review -- I've been here several weeks in a row (& a brief stint of not making it here due to my schedule) & am always greeted with a smile. I appreciate how they navigated through COVID, support other local businesses by bringing in rotating food trucks, and fuel their community. As an educator, I really appreciated the 50% off beers they did for us this past week. It mattered. Lastly, I can always count on their social media (primarily Instagram) to be spot on with newest releases, food truck schedules, and events. If you're not signed up for their email list, that's a great way as well. Visited Transport for the first time in six months, or at least pre Covid. The service was just as good as the last visit and the drinks were delicious.
