I was back in San Rafael again visiting family. I brought the gang to the marina for the trail walk. We "had" to go into Andy's Local Market. Luv this place. Some folks in my group wanted fresh coffee, sodas and juices from the cold case, pre-packaged deli items, bbq from the grill, and to use the restroom. Don't let the size of this market fool you into believing they are a one trick pony. Besides groceries they have alot to offer. The bbq stand (outside near the back parking lot), plants, gifts, groceries, fresh seafood and meat counters, sandwich and deli counter, self serve hot prepared food bar, coffee and pastries bar, bar ( in the back patio facing the marina), and individual cold case drinks... and that is not everything. They have a backyard patio area and a small indoor seating area. During the summer, live music is held out in the patio. Everyone enjoyed the food items they purchased. Great offerings, prices (normal and comparable to simple places in the area), clean, organized, and beautiful simple decor and aesthetics. Plus they have the BBQ stand out front. It is open daily 11:39am-2pm. Serving up chicken (thigh $8.95, plate $18.95), Miller hot dog $8.95 and tri tip. I have yet to try the tri tip, but the chicken and hot dog are fantastic. Mmm. And I have to give a shout out to the houseplant selection. It caught the eye of some family members, so much so they bought a couple. Beautiful, healthy plants that cost nearly 40% less than the cheapest big box store in our hometown.

Andy's Local Market is such a blessing to have in our neighborhood! It offers countless delectable items like fresh produce, fresh meats, fresh seafood, delicious cooked food, that never disappoint! Every summer, which is this time of the year, Andy's have the best baby back barbecue ribs, chicken, tri tip, accompanied by their awesome not sweet baked beans, cream corn and corn bread. Every Sunday, I make it a point to buy baby back ribs with all the sides, for lunch! Today being Sunday, my husband and I are enjoying some! Love, love Andy's and their caring employees! Shout out to Superman Billy, Joel, Debbie, Leslie, Amazing Alexi at the Deli., Jose (the Barbeque Master) and Mr. Produce, Ubaldo!

Great local market. Lots of options, sandwiches are delicious and made to order. The chipotle chicken was yummy especially warmed. Also bought the mango cucumber salad, very refreshing and delicious. Ended up buying a container to bring home. Many different choices from pizzas, burritos to sandwiches. Very friendly vibe, a great place to meet up with friends and have lunch.

Andy's is a fun spot to shop around and enjoy the nice view during sunny days, even if it is extremely pricy. They have a deli, pizzeria, burrito bar, coffee bar, drinks, and so much more to create a picnic on the outdoor tables. The chicken club was delicious! $12.99 pretax.

Banh mi Ba was closed today because they aren't open on Tuesday so I decided to get a sandwich from the Good Earth deli. It was meant to be a tofu banh mi -- It was on sourdough baguette with a pair of massive slabs of baked tofu. I give them credit for the delicious Japanese style pickle, but there simply wasn't enough of it and the scanty slices of daikon were OK, but ultimately this was better as a salad without the bread and added vinaigrette myself. Those chunks of tofu were undeniably tofu, but it was just not a great sandwich experience. The funny thing is, I had asked a couple of men dining outside the grocery store. If there was anything they recommended at the deli. They both told me what they had ordered and suggested requesting extra barbecue sauce for the brisket because it's quite dry. I was not expecting my tofu sandwich to be so dry but also soggy. I'll stick with Banh mi Ba for my banh mi -- and try other things at good earth going forward. Also, I just want to note that last November on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, my tire was vandalized by somebody who stuck a knife into it twice in on purpose purposes of the sidewall. They do not have cameras on the parking lot and even Fairfax police said "oh well we can't take reports for things that happened on private property" which honestly makes me wonder what they do when somebody breaks into a house or does something on "private" property. Does that mean laws are not enforced on private property in Fairfax? Stay tuned.

Not knowing anyone in the area and living in a 2 bedroom apartment we decided to outsource thanksgiving to Woodlands Market in Kentfield. We had shopped a few times at Kentfield and were very pleased with our experience so figured this was the ideal place to try takeout Thanksgiving. The pickup process was very convenient, they had a tent outside with multiple people helping customers. They walked through the order list show each item on the order list to make sure there wasn't anything missing, also they helped load items into the car. They even had snacks to offer, they made the atmosphere for pickup very nice ! We did their small turkey and assorted sides with desert option as we wanted some left overs. We were very happy with our choice !!! The sides were packed in aluminum containers which made re-heating very easy, the turkey was pre cooked so just needed to reheat. They provided instructions on how to reheat everything. Only thing I would change was I would of foiled the turkey top 1/2 through the reheat. The funny thing is when I went to throw out the box that the meal came in there was 2 boxes in the dumpster from others in the same dumpster from the apartment complex. Clearly we weren't the only ones overall this was a great experience and am going to order through them for Christmas as well.
