If I could give negative stars I would. I'm allergic to acrylic which was explained to the owner & each employee that I had work on my nails. Even after telling them I was allergic to acrylic & verify it was gel powder I had reactions. They still used acrylic on my nails!!! 3 separate occasions, I know I was giving them a chance. Until recently, I would've hands down recommended this shop, Jenny or Kelly. But a few weeks ago it was a disgruntled young lady that was unhappy about the older Asian woman that did her nails. She even attempted to pay but the nail tech upset her. Things escalated & two of the techs confronted the young lady & was blocking her from leaving. This went on for about 15 mins. So finally I had enough of the drama & got up and deescalated the situation. I felt that was a little extreme for a 35.00 service. Nowadays you cannot argue with people because sad to say, you could get harmed or even loose your life. Today I need my nails done but was told I couldn't come except on Tuesday when the manager was there. I'm like huh. I think it's the specific nail tech that makes or breaks a client experience. With that said, I highly recommend Jenny! I've been to this salon twice and though it's not the fanciest of salons, it is still clean and the prices are more than fair! There was a huge black hair in the gel and when I said something to the nail tech she lied and said no it's bubbles. No that's your nail and refused to fix it. I came back to show her it was in fact a hair and I just wanted her to paint over it. She only painted the one nail and was so rude and nasty about it. Worst customer service. I'm so pissed!!! I go to do my nails, but my nail lady is on vacation (Ann who is awesome) and so they give me some lady who had been there 3 weeks and can't do a design ... . In beginning I even showed her my toes before and said it doesn't have to be same design just some lines she said ok. I like my big toe painted 2 colors split in half she said ok. Later I found out she can't do it and she tells manager she did design and I didn't like it so she took it off. she lied !! She never even tried. I left with no design on my toe.. I been going same place over 10years and never had an issue, but now I'm never going back there! I am thrilled 100% with the gorgeous job Kelly did on my fingernails in late May 2021 at Germantown MD location. It was my first visit. Photo to follow in a few days, of the full set just the right oval shape and length I requested, and beautiful color (Pomegranate). So glossy! She also did an excellent job on a Spa pedicure. My toenails had been in a horrible condition, and Kelly performed a miracle on them. Eyebrows were done as well, nicely! The salon follows the COVID-19 SafetyRequirements. Extremely impressed! Worst Nail salon ever!!!!! Sign claimed Acrylic set $35. Changed the price to $40, $45, $50. Every nail was different shape & color??? Could actually see my own nail on edges where she didn't put the acrylic. Lol said, "it's just my eyes"?!? And started talking to other technicians in her language. It's really so hard to find an affordable nail place that does a good job. In terms of service, they are about the best you will get for Vietnamese nail shops. In terms of quality, I've had really good experiences and straight awful ones at Andy's Nails. I've had my nails done by Jade and the owner, Tina. Their pedicures are generally very consistent, but not their full set gel acrylics. The first time, I got it done by Jade and was very pleased with the look for almost 2 weeks after my appointment. I got my nails done last Saturday and it happened to not be busy. Nonethless, while Tina was friendly, she rushed through my nails; in fact, she is always rushing through nails to do the next customer. I asked for super short gel acrylics and got long, unevenly shaped nails. I was still picking plastic off around my cuticles an hour after I left. The worst part is that I paid all that money and they only lasted me 5 days before they looked completely disgusting and I had to peel them off. $36 was definitely thrown down the drain on that trip. I would tread carefully with their full sets, but if you're in the area and looking for an affordable place to get a mani and/or pedi, this is the place. read more

After coming here on a regular basis for 2+ years, I can safely say that your experience here depends entirely on who you get. There are some nail technicians here who are rude, talk on the phone while they do your nails, talk to each other, and, worst of all, do an unacceptable job at not only mani-pedis but also facial waxing. I've done the guessing-and-checking so no one else reading this and contemplating whether they should go here needs to. 99% of the time, I do a walk-in, so I've been helped by almost every nail tech who works here. Bottom line is: Amy and Leanne are the only ones who will do a quality job and make you feel like you got your money's worth. They're both on the quiet side, Amy more than Leanne, but they do wonderful nails. Leanne does the best eyebrows in my opinion and I'm extremely picky about my eyebrows. They take their time to do a good job, they don't make you feel like you're annoying them or wasting your time, they don't talk on the phone or gossip with the other techs, and they actually talk to YOU. Beauty is nice and I had a pleasant first experience with her, but she likes to talk way too much, and because of that, she takes an unnecessary amount of time. She also tries to sell you other services like crazy. I know it's her job to sell the product, but after hearing, ''You want eyebrow? You want upper lip? You want gel? Are you sure??'' a million times when you're trying to relax during your manicure and/or pedicure, you start to get annoyed. Kelly is the worst. She talks loudly on her iPhone the whole time she does your nails, and she'll stop doing your nails to do someone else's eyebrows or fix someone else's nails that they messed up after she did them. She does a good job on gel manicures, but she's really unprofessional and not friendly at all. She's also really harsh with facial waxing and tweezing. I had never experienced such a painful eyebrow and lip wax until she did it. She does it too quickly with wax that's too hot. And someone needs to take her tweezers away because she tweezed my SKIN for several minutes. I was wondering why it hurt so much! I didn't realize she was just tweezing skin until I got home and saw I had about 5 tiny dots underneath my eyebrow that were bleeding. Horrible. Long story short, go to Amy or Leanne and you'll have a good experience here. Or if you find someone else you like by chance, stay with them and make appointments. Whatever you do, don't walk in and leave who you get to chance. UPDATE 1/7/17: I recently had a mani/pedi done by Jenny, who I'd never had before. She is great at gel nails and paint designs, and she's really nice as well. read more

I normally don't write reviews, but i believe i should share my experience about this establishment. I will never be coming back to andy's nails ever again and let me tell you why. i used to come here all the time when i was younger and their service used to be really good, but for some reason after covid and as it slowed down they have became very shady with their business and prices. originally when i came in i let one of the nail techs know what i wanted on my nails, and that i also will be needing a pedicure as well she told me the price would be $82 which was fine. I was taken back immediately to do my toes by Amy one of the nail techs and I would 100% NEVER recommend her she was very rude and rushed my toes. It was very evident I had acrylic toes because they don't look like your average gel/reg nail polished toes, she proceeds to drill my toe nails in which i assumed she was trying to get the previous style off in reality she's drilling the actual nail off and by the third toe she then proceeds to ask me do i want to keep the acrylic toe on or take it off because if i take it off its $5 more, and if i get them redone its $45 so i agreed to her continuing to keep my acrylic toes in which she states that she already has taken them off so I got very irritated and told her to just take the rest off. I was very confused because why would you ask me do I want to keep my acrylic toes on when you're already in the process of taking them off without my say so ... continuing on she proceeds to file my toes in which at this point she's being rough and ends up filing my skin too leaving me with a cut on the side of my toe. that's not even the best part not only was she not wearing gloves in the beginning half, but after she finished removing the acrylic from my toes she puts on a previous pair of gloves she had already worn before doing somebody else's feet. I know that they were worn because they were wet, and inside out when she was trying to fix them and put them back on. at that point i got extremely upset with that and asked her can she change her gloves in which she got an attitude. i don't care if you have an attitude that's super unsanitary there are a lot of people who come with fungus on their feet, or have issues on their feet/cuts etc so why would i want you touching my feet with a used pair of gloves that were used on someone else? I have noticed with the nail techs in this establishment they only really take their time on their reoccurring clients because they know they're gonna get tipped, or with the older women they'll try to be extremely nice because they're looking to get a tip out of them anybody else they'll do a whatever job on your nails. moving on to my nails which i asked for a simple SHORT french tip set, this other nail tech that did my nails wasn't that bad but it's definitely not what i described in the picture, and my nails just look bulky and meh. definitely not worth $92 at all which in that case idek how my nails ended up being $92 when it should have been $87 because initially i was told $82 and the lady who did my toes took off the acrylic which was $5 extra dollars so the math isn't mathing ... i have no problem paying for my nails, but when i pay a service ESPECIALLY any cosmetic service i expect it to be really really good because im not paying you to do a crummy rushed job on my nails because you just decided you weren't gonna give me your best service. if i could give them zero stars i would absolutely will not be coming back here again, i've officially wiped my hands clean with this nail salon. i don't know what happened to their service, but they need to get it together. read more

my father was a nail tech and a good one at that so i'm pretty sure of how this business works. this is jot my regular nail salon so this is based off one time i came in to actually remove the nails i had on. i was greeted properly and immediately sat which is very nice. initially an acrylic removal will have both hands soaking in acetone so that the nail will remove with less damage. for some reason the person just took a pair of cuticle cutters and started prying and ripping them off! on the last nail she was taking off which was my thumb she took my real nail instead of the acrylic! it hurt so bad i actually kept saying "ow" and winced and she would pull my hand back. I STARTED BLEEDING. my boyfriend and daughter were with me and he noticed i kept saying it hurt. she just put nail glue over it and was moving over to the other hand when i asked if i could soak the other hand instead. so i got sat at another station and it only took about 15 min to soak for the acrylic to get soft. i'm thinking to myself the only reason why i let her do that knowing it was wrong and extremely rushed was because i had to take them off for my work. although they were extremely nice, this was a very poor service. now my nail is still is extremely damaged and i won't be able to put anything on it for at least 6 months. it hurt so bad i could literally feel the skin under my nail where she ripped it off. unfortunately if you'd like professional and good service you need to find a good nail tech and stick with them. read more

I had a local event after work and had some time to burn so I stopped in Andy's nails. I needed a pedicure and an acrylic fill. I had two technicians one for each task. Both were amazing. They took their time to make my nails look exactly how I wanted them. My little pinky toe has a very tiny nail which is normally grazed and not actually filed down properly. The technician who did my pedicure actually trimmed the nail and cuticles. I am so impressed that I will definitely be back there. The pricing is normal. I've been going to Amy for about 10 years now and I would never go to anyone else. After I told her exactly how I want my nails to look and what I want, I got exactly what I wanted and exceeded my expectations! I currently live in silver spring and work in Baltimore, but I will still make time and commute all the way over to go to Amy. I have been dissatisfied anywhere else I tried to go, no matter how fancy the salon was. Andy's nails is the only place I'll glad long as Amy is there. She is almost like family at this point! She knows all of my family members and remembers everything, she really cares about you and goes above and beyond to make you happy :) Did I mention I love Amy? Lol. Terrible customer services!!! I went in for a fill in due to my regular nail salon being too busy that sunday. I was told to pick a color and so i did, when she saw the nail polish i picked she said the previous french tip i had was going to show that it was better to pick gel (in a bossy tone) i said ok i will pick another color but not gel. She started cutting the nails and after she finished i took a look and asked if she could cut them shorter, she looked at me like i was asking for something out of this planet and replied "yes you just have to tell i don't know what you want" in a very rude way. I used to come here regularly. Hadn't had my nails done during Covid but splurged on Gel Dip for vacation. Topcoat PEELING on day 4. Chips on 2 other fingers on day 6. I went here once for a gel manicure a while ago and I was satisfied with the way my nails looked. However, it was a painful experience. Basically, the lady that did my nails was pretty rough. I've lived down the street from this place for about 5 years and have gotten acrylic on and off. the only thing that's kept me coming back is the price...they're cheap. a few weeks ago i went in to get a fill and the lady tells me i should get a full set because my nails look bad. she starts separating my nail from the acrylic with that slide-a-fake-nail-between-the-new-and-old technique (which usually hurts) and i ask her if we can do it the other way instead (soaked in acetone). nail people must know best because she tells me "no" and proceeds to continue slicing through my fingers with the nail. one bleeding middle finger later, i ask her to immediately quit it and just do it the way i had asked. instead she tells me that it's my fault i'm bleeding becuase i have thin nails. WTF. i dont know how often this place cleans their utensils, but if she was willing to finish me up while bleeding without a 2nd thought, then they definitely need to be reported to the Better Business Bureau immediately. read more

Did a great job applying the gel overlay to my nails after convincing me to give it a try for a more natural look. The ladies are super nice and talkative and speak great English... if you care about that. Prices are reasonable and best of all they help up to their promise that if it didnt last 2 weeks they would fix it. I used to go here exclusively until I learned what acrylics were supposed to look like. They definitely rush you through the nail services and I'm fairly certain they reuse their latex gloves. I always see them blowing into inside out gloves. That's just nasty. They get the 2 stars because they do a pretty good eyebrow wax and their nail designs are really pretty. My daughter went here and had the worst experience. They insisted on doing French manicure and she didn't want it. Girl was on phone while time while taking the gel off. My daughter was very uncomfortable with their rudeness and decided to leave. They physically blocked the door and wouldn't let her leave until she paid for this awful work they were doing that she refused to let them even do.
