Take out sandwiches took 55 minutes. Twice we were told "he's making them now". We were never told there would be a such a wait for takeout. Place was busy but no more than many other places at lunch time. No line out the door or anything like that. And the sandwiches weren't even worth the wait - two buffalo chicken wraps that weren't wraps, just folded over so I couldn't even eat it while driving which was the plan for takeout in a rush. read more

Daughter and I sat at the breakfast bar opting to take less space. They took our orders right away. We got hot coffee and an ice tea. We ordered huevos rancheros which was different than most similar dishes I have eaten elsewhere (large dish probably reduce the size and it would be perfect). I am used to having received beans, with eggs over easy, some type of chip and or tortilla with the meal and salsa. Our dish had rice, beans (not regrows but both still good), and scrambled eggs mixed with tomatoes and red peppers, it also had avocados. I am not used to having scrambled eggs mixed with tomatoes and did not prefer my eggs made this way and not did my daughter. I wish we were offered which way we wanted our eggs....I probably would have said over easy! We also asked for and received home fries in lieu of toast. which were a hit with my daughter! You have to ask for the salsa if you want it, but they get it for you ASAP! I'd like to try some of their omelets as those looked great and maybe their eggs Benedict. read more

BEST PANCAKES ON THE PLANET!! I usually get the "Trucker's Special" to fuel up during long bicycle rides. I've had pancakes at any number of places and these are the best. (Other places undercook them so they taste like gooey flour.) The eggs and sausages were prepared to order. I usually sit at the counter and have found service to be prompt and attentive. This place is just so darling. It has that old time Cafe feel with an attached dining room. Our waitress is always so sweet and talkative and the food is wonderful. We have only eaten breakfast there. The chocolate chip pancakes are so so so so worth it. My husband gets the French toast with cheese eggs and bacon. The coffee is great as well. The first day I walked in I had the stuffed peppers and brought back many memories of Mom's cooking. For the next 2 months I and my fellow workers enjoyed the friendship and laughter of the locals and owner, John. You never go away hungry or in a bad mood from Andy's Restaurant. I had many breakfasts, lunches and dinners at all times of day at this diner and was never disappointed. John has a fine family that enjoys working there when they can and you have to introduce yourself to Eddie. Watch out ladies cause he is the ultimate harmless flirt. He is almost as good with the jokes as he is with the spatula. It was a home away from home for us as we served the victims of Hurricane Sandy in the great State of New York and none of us will ever forget the way we were welcomed into this great little village of Highland Falls by everyone. I LOVE Andy's! My coworkers at West Point & I go out for lunch nearly every Friday and of all the restaurant's along Main St in Highland Falls, Andy's is the best. They have an extensive menu, the prices are reasonable, the portions are huge and the food is always fresh, especially the burgers! Drove past so many times and finally decided to go today..Got there at 9:30 am and the place was packed...filled with West Point cadets mostly God bless them ..Almost left the food took so long BUT I have to say the sausage , biscuits and gravy were excellent and plenty of it ...Home fries tasty and a large amount..The breakfast sandwich was moist... delicious .Can't remember which one but it had steak My b/f ordered that....YES I would go back but when less busy. My wife and I have been to West Point on several different occasions. Each time we come to West Point we make it a priority to visit Andy's for breakfast. When we first started going to Andy's my wife ordered the truckers special needless to say the food portion was a little more than expected "a little than expected is an understatement" Our more recent visits we've changed our order a bit to the "chocolate chip pancakes" and the "French toast with cheese eggs". Definitely bring your appetite with you because you'll need it. We initially thought our server was kinda rough around the edges then realized that she was just awesome and even though there was about six months between our visits she still remembered us, our orders and whether we had finished our food last time we were there. First time dining at Andy's this past Sunday morning, was a nice experience. Mostly cadets and their families which was nice because in the metro NY area we are out of touch with these fine people. There is a good wait for brunch on Sunday mornings so plan for that. Service was good and friendly and the food is classic mom and pop luncheonette fare. My Hungry man order was done right with corned beef hash crusty as I love it and the eggs perfect. coffee refills flowed and there was no pressure to turn over the tables. Prices are very reasonable. I had noticed that the poor cadets had no place to rest their white hats and some even left them on the floor under their seats. I suggested to a server (blonde lady) that they install coat/hat hooks on the walls in between the tables to accommodate the cadets...besides, I think it would look cool to see the white hats lined up on the walls. I'm a local and Andy's is where we go for breakfast when we have occasion to do so. It's a "local" type of place with archetypal staff and small-town feel. It's a Twin Peaks, "Double R" diner with menu highlights and specials listed on a chalk-board. My husband and I order the same things every time (unless we get there early and the waffle iron is still on; then he gets the waffles), but we're always happy with how everything comes out. Me and a buddy spent some time at West Point to do a job and we always try to find a local place to have breakfast. We hit the jackpot when we found Andy's Restaurant. I couldn't get enough of their killer omeletes, home fries, and great coffee. This is obviously a hot spot for the locals. We had to come back a month later and we were greeted at the door with smiles and a big hello, it's like we never left. What a great place.
