I have been eating in this restaurant for two years. The food is affordable and is always fresh!

Chicken salad with potato salad, and coleslaw on top of leaf lettuce.

Great service with excellent food. A little expensive but worth it! We enjoyed their salad with chicken salad on top and their French toast was great. Unexpected in the city.

Consistency needs work... here the pork was good but the plantains were bad... sometimes its reversed.

After they renovated a few months ago, this place became my go-to spot for my work lunch. I almost always get the pernil lunch special with white rice, beans, and a few sweet plantains. At its best, the pork melts in your mouth, the beans are delicious and the plantains are dark, sweet, and soft. The service is great. I have also had their breakfast. Their sausage is really good, I sometimes order it for lunch. Unfortunately, this place has a consistency problem. I don't know if they have two differently skilled chefs but something is going on. Don't get me wrong, the food is never so bad that it is inedible (except pancakes, those are not good). However, half the time, the pork is good but not great, with a significant portion being dry. Half the time, the sweet plantains are yellow and undercooked which makes them taste more like a starch than sweet plantains. Also, I gave it a bit more credit because it is one of the few places where you can still have a great dine-in experience.

This restaurant doesn't seem like it would be great from first glance. The interior isn't super clean or fancy. However, the food is really good! I ordered the mangu. It was my first time trying this traditional Dominican dish, and I was blown away by how good it was! I was craving it again for several weeks afterwards. The portion sizes are also really generous. I could barely finish everything. It's definitely worth a try if you happen to be in the area and want a very reasonably priced meal. To deserve a full 5 stars, they would have to keep the restaurant a bit cleaner. There was a hair stuck on the unclean sauce bottles at our table and the whole restaurant in general could've been cleaner. Also, I ordered a lemonade listed under natural juice, and it was bright yellow and tasted like a Koolaid mix lemonade. Nothing natural about that.

Smell like chicken livers while looking like pork shoulder dark meat.

I've ordered from here before as well as gotten take out. There's always something that's not quite right! After the food I ordered today, NEVER EVER AGAIN!! The boneless chicken chunks are not only very dry, the chicken is dark like pork shoulder meat and smells like chicken livers!! See pics So I paid $24.00 for a few french fries, salad and soda. No need to send back, the replacement would be very suspicious. Smh

GF wanted a Spanish breakfast and that's exactly what we got at a very affordable price. Food was tasty and the service was quick and polite. Clearly a local favorite as well. I'd stop by again, if in the area.

This place has a great Spanish breakfast, that I believe is very authentic. It's a diner style, but it's a great place for a quick meal.

It's a perfect date night spot to share deliciousness with a loved one. My friend and I shared three flavorful dishes-- a radicchio salad, the Confit Duck Leg and the Paccheri, a pasta with house- made pork sausage and broccoli rabe. The duck was so tender it fell off the bone. The pasta was intricate and tasted perfect when it was first served then veered a tad salty as it marinated (but still great). The salad was gorgeous on its own but even better accompanied by the mains. The duck was probably my favorite, but every bite complemented the next thing so well, that all of my senses were thoroughly engaged. I truly was having such a deep experience with the food that at one point I asked my friend to stop talking so that I could properly take in all the flavors. Oops. She loved the food too, so thankfully she understood. We topped off the meal with the buñuelos. We liked the sauce, but I'd say it's not memorable. I liked my orange wine, and my friend was indifferent about her drink. It was a pricey dinner but such a worthwhile experience. Can't wait to go back.

Chocolate bunditos: 8/10: Smooth, sweet snd chocolaty. Bunelos: 6/10: The server described these as a round beignet or donut, but as a native New Orleanian, it's not like a donut or beignet. It's more like a hush puppy, but not a good one. Service: 7/10 Our server was efficient, but sooo dry. I've come to the conclusion that my customer service expectations are just too high for this city. Ambiance: 7/10 Felt like I was in someone's unfinished basement. Too spartan for my taste.

There's a camaraderie in the room that invites you to slow down, connect, and truly experience both the conversation and the food. Everything feels considered. My best friend and I each ordered the prix fixe menu, and it was a journey from start to finish. I began with the Spicy Corn & Coconut Soup--honestly, unforgettable. The crispy shallots added just the right amount of texture against the velvety base, and each spoonful layered flavor in a way that felt both comforting and elevated. For my main, I had the kichuri, and Chef Alex Guzman absolutely shines here. He is a star--full stop. There's a clarity and confidence in his cooking that you can taste. The cilantro chutney was perfection, and the way the mint lingers alongside the spice... it's the kind of balance that only comes from someone who truly understands their craft. You can feel his care in every bite. I ended with the key lime pie, and all I can say is thank you. The whipped cream was fresh and airy, the lime zest bright without overpowering, and the crust tied everything together beautifully. It felt like a thoughtful, intentional close to an already incredible meal. I highly recommend starting with the guava mocktail, then pairing your main with the fig mocktail--both are perfectly crafted and complement the dishes so well. Also, sit at the bar. Let Dan guide you through the experience. Trust his recommendations--you will not be steered wrong. He elevates the entire evening. And the playlist? Y'all really did that.

The space and volume seemed to overwhelm the staff at times. Service was friendly and welcoming but also frazzled and disorganized. We never received our appetizer until we reminded them, and our drinks (sweet tea and lemonade) also had to be requested again after a very long wait. To their credit, they did pack up the crab cake appetizer to go and removed it from the bill, which we appreciated. The fried chicken, mac and cheese, and yams were all served on top of each other. If you dont like for your food to touch, this place will be a nightmare for you. I ordered fried catfish, collard greens and potato salad. The fried catfish was served swimming in collard green juice (there's a picture of it). It was also surprising that you only get one piece of catfish, which felt underwhelming for the price, especially since it was soggy. The potato salad was served in a small separate bowl, which is typical in many Southern restaurants for ALL side dishes. The mac and cheese had good flavor but the cheese wasn't fully melted. The yams were dry and not very sweet despite the menu description. The collard greens were on the sweeter side, which may work for some but wasn't my preference. The potato salad the only thing that was solid. Overall, it felt overpriced for the portion sizes and execution. The bartender seemed very skilled, and the drinks we saw being made looked great, though we didn't order any. After the long wait and missing appetizer, we skipped dessert and went elsewhere. The bathroom also needed attention and was not well maintained AT ALL! Ew The restaurant is very loud which didn't bother me at all but an FYI. It is also handicapped accessible and kid friendly. I really wanted to love the experience, but it fell below expectations in terms of service, cleanliness, and value. I might give them another try but no time soon.
