I've been here a few times now, and every visit confirms why this place has quickly become one of my favorite coffee spots on the Peninsula. Tucked into the Springline development, Andytown has a super clean, modern vibe with plenty of indoor seating that makes it perfect for catching up with a friend or getting some work done. There's a parking garage attached, which is a huge plus in this area--no circling the block hoping for a miracle street spot. Just park and walk right in. The staff is always friendly, and the drinks are consistently excellent. Pictured is the Original Bird, which is hands-down my favorite. It's creamy, subtly sweet, and totally unique--definitely worth trying if you're into specialty drinks that go beyond the usual latte or cold brew. Iced matcha hits the spot. Have also enjoyed each of the baked goods I've tried: a currant scone, a double chocolate cookie, another scone (I think it was orange?). Found this cafe in SF where it originated and they recently opened a location in Menlo Park in a new snazzy apartment complex. Bf got the snow plover and i thought he's love it bc he likes fizzy drinks but i think he thought it was just okay. He liked the house-made whipped cream. The fizzy espresso coffee is very light tasting so maybe not satisfying for regular latte drinkers like us. I got the peppermint latte with almond milk bc they dont really have specialty drinks. They had a peppermint mocha but i dont like mocha so he said he could do just peppermint. They have brown sugar and vanilla syrup i believe. I liked my drink noticed it is a bit on the tart/tanic side of coffee which i dont prefer. Maybe it's the beans? I liket blue bottle and starbucks betta. read more

Whenever I'm in Menlo Park I'll stop by Andytown for a matcha latte and a breakfast sandwich. Although they seem pretty busy sometimes, the service is really good and you won't have to wait too long for your order. I get my matcha latte with oat milk and sweetener for about $7 and the breakfast sandwich is about $11. I've tried the matcha iced and hot before and both are really good (matcha flavor is on the lighter side for me). You can park on the street along Garwood Way for easy parking and walk down the plaza towards the cafe. The inside of the cafe is pretty small and downs have the most seating but there are plenty of places to sit outside on a nice day. read more

Was in the mood for some coffee and found Andytown Coffee Roasters on Yelp. Loved the vibe from the photos so my husband and I tried it out. I had no idea it was so popular because I'm never in the city, but now I can see why! We came on a Saturday (early afternoon-ish) for a pick-me-up on the way home from Palo Alto. There were a few groups hanging out but there wasn't a line. First off - LOVE the interior. At its base, the design is gorgeous but of course the added Halloween decor made it even better. Lots of seating for different party sizes, but no wifi so maybe not the best place to work unless you have a hotspot. Even if the indoor seating is taken, there are tons of options for seating outside. We ordered the seasonal drinks (of course): pumpkin spice latte with oat milk for me, pumpkin spice plover for my husband, and a pumpkin and chocolate chip scone to share. Note: the pumpkin spice syrup they use has condensed milk in it so they have a vegan version as well, which the barista so kindly let me know! Apparently the vegan version was just as delicious, just not as sweet as the original. I opted for the original, but really appreciated that they had a vegan option in general! Service was quick and we got our drinks within a few minutes. I LOVED my latte - the perfect amount of pumpkin, spice, coffee, and cream. I wasn't as much of a fan of the plover as my husband was but I really liked their homemade whipped cream that topped the plover! (I'm not the biggest fan of soda water, so it's really just a me problem.) The scone was DELICIOUS. The blend of pumpkin and chocolate worked so well together and the overall texture added to how good it was. I can't wait to return to try a matcha or mocha - two of my go-to's at other cafes to see how it compares. Note: they have a parking garage a few doors down, but also street parking! We opted for the garage :) it looked like it was still under construction when we went so all the gates were open. Andytown is another gem of a coffee hub originating out of San Francisco with multiple locations, including this one in the heart of Menlo Park. Like with most craft coffee establishments, Andytown makes lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos and even espresso with an array of dairy and non-dairy options to choose from as well. However, the one unique item of Andytown is their hand whipped cream. This can be ordered with an espresso or in my case, on their signature coffee tonic, the original bird. Their cream is dense, flavorful and offers a depth of texture and flavors you don't normally find. Paired with the sweet, effervescent quality of the coffee tonic, it's as refreshing yet flavorful of caffeinated beverage as you can have. Service is straightforward as you form a directly in front of the door. The staff here are friendly and always happy to help direct you to the beverage of your liking if you're not sure what to order. The space has a few chairs as well as a standing table for folks who wish to linger around, along with some chairs and tables outdoors. All in all, andytown gets the job done and then some if you're in need to get a fix of coffee. I personally prefer to make my own most of the time and luckily they have fresh roasted beans on hand which are high quality and fair in price as well. read more

My husband and I are big Andytown fans, I still remembering going to their first location in the outer sunset, maybe about 10 years ago now! Wow has time flown by. I could not believe there was one in Menlo Park. This was great for me, as it was so close to where I got lunch (Farmhouse Thai), and I was able to come here right after for my work meeting. Got the Snowy Plover here (sparkling water over ice, espresso, brown sugar syrup, and housemade whipped cream) - their classic item, which was great for my afternoon coma after lunch. Lots of caffeine, I did see an option for half-caffeine, which I might opt for next time, should it be an afternoon time! Nice to have that option. It took about 10 mins to receive my order, and there is a designated space for Mobile Pickups, which is nice. Nowadays, you can order your coffee ahead of time online, which worked perfectly for me, as I was dashing off from lunch with coworkers to my work meeting. There's free wifi here (although not publicly displayed, you'll have to ask for it), a few indoor bar-seating communal tables, and plenty of outdoor ones too. There aren't a lot of tables in general though, and sitting at a bar-style seating is not comfortable for doing work on your laptop. I can't say it was the most comfortable spot to do work, but it was fine for the hour. This coffee shop was quite clean, with nice modern furniture, and lots of sunlight. I typically do enjoy sunlight in a restaurant setting, but I found it a little frustrating during my Zoom meeting. Clean bathroom here. I was looking for a specific syrup, but they mentioned they only have simple syrup and sugar, not concentrated syrup. I'm so bummed that we didn't try this place sooner. It's so rare to find a place that has the trifecta of great coffee for a reasonable price in a beautiful space, but Andytown has made that magic combination work--in Menlo Park, of all places! We tried both their drip coffee and their espresso (in a cappuccino), and both formats delivered incredible, deep flavors. And we got both for under $10! The drip coffee uses their Wind and Sea blend, which they describe as having orange, chocolate, and nougat notes. The orange comes through in a pleasantly sour, almost savory way, which makes for one of those drinking experiences that excites the tongue on each sip. I'm typically partial to espresso, though, and their espresso really impressed me. The espresso uses their Short Strand blend, which has tasting notes of syrupy sweetness, toffee, and milk chocolate. I love chocolatey, caramelly notes in coffee, but I've never had a coffee that took those to the level of this blend. When I first tasted the cappuccino, I thought I had the wrong drink; it tasted almost like a mocha! Even so, the drink had the great bitter notes of good espresso, and the (whole) milk held its exquisite microfoam until the drink was gone. We sat in the cafe, which has abundant natural light but not a ton of indoor seating. (There's plenty of outdoor seating, but it was too cold for us to sit outside the morning we came.) Their wifi is pretty good, making it easy to do work or tootle around online while enjoying the coffee. Fair warning, though: their food and pastries smell incredible, so sitting inside for a while may make you hungry. read more

I was able to visit Andytown while meeting up with a friend. We wanted to try out their only location that is not in SF. Since it was a Sunday, the line was intermittently long but moved quickly. There are a few tables and bar stools indoors, and we were lucky to grab those to stay cool. Whoops for forgetting sunscreen. If you are sunscreen savvy, then you can sit outside. My friend liked her plant based matcha and I liked my Oat milk Cafe au lait. You can tell the baristas are skilled, and I like that the coffee isn't overly acidic. They also have some unique drinks on the menu. I can't speak to food or pastry options but they weren't expansive. The parking situation is...cross your fingers for street parking luck. My fingers and toes must have been triple crossed because I got a spot right in front. Otherwise, you might have to deal with a garage. They are starting to build up quite a number of eateries around this area. The shop doesn't feel too noisy, which is good for conversations or working. The only situation was the bathroom, which was surprisingly meh on cleanliness. The toilet seat was...well I won't give too much away. Great coffee and vibe, meh toilet and parking. read more

The place looked clean and had no customers. It almost looked closed. We stood in front of the counter. Since it was our first time in the place. We didn't know where to place our order. When we figured it out. We walked up and were silently stared at by the odd hair colored barista. I asked for a breve latte. She said. "We can't do that." I said, wait what? You can't steam half and half? She said. "No, or heavy cream." "It cloggs our machine." In the many of decades of having breve lattes and owning an espresso machine with a steamer wand. I have never heard of nor experienced that, ever. You just blast clean steam through the wand once you're done steaming. No wonder no one was in the coffee shop. Not friendly or welcoming at all. I've heard a lot of hype around their popular drink, "The Bird" which is basically espresso, tonic water, brown sugar syrup and house made whip. The scoop is pretty small and doesn't do much to the coffee other than floating around. I do wish they instead, topped the entire top with whip; that way the whip gives more of a creamy sweet texture and taste. The drink isn't anything special but I do want to try their regular espresso and drip. The cafe itself is awesome! I love the architecture and design of this place. This Andytown location has the most consistently bad customer service of any cafe in the area (at least from those serving at the front). If you ask questions, expect some snark/passive aggression. Butttt it has good coffee and bread, so. Ambiance-wise it's okay. Definitely on the small side, with limited seating although more spaces are available outside. My favourite thing about the drinks would be house-made whipped cream, and the mocha is nice and rich. The baked goods really stand out for me, and I haven't been able to find soda farls anywhere else. It's too bad that the person-to-person interaction is such a let down. It would otherwise be my local go-to. Man, I was excited to try Andytown, it was on my list to check out but customer service on a not so busy Sunday wasn't the best? Maybe it's a one off? Who knows? But when ordering a plover we asked if it was iced or hot and the person working the register was having a bad day or something...? While the response was "it's served cold only because of the bubbly soda" (it doesn't say whether it's cold or hot), so I asked about the matcha and they gave off a very cold demeanor by repeating it instead of being general about it "All our plovers are iced". The ambiance was nice, good lighting and a decent space to study or work. There's a difference between not wanting to be at work and maybe being civil or I don't know, just being kind...? If you don't mind the attitude, the awkwardness, sure? Go for it. The place might be your jam. The drink was okay. I think the experience made me feel bad or at most like I lacked the research or maybe it's because we had a stroller (Maybe it's not kid friendly and I missed reading it on here)? I didn't enjoy the drink it so I went elsewhere. I might give it a go at another location though. read more

I LOVE the coffee here! I usually get an espresso or a flat white and it's great. Slightly acidic, but not too bad. The ginger drink is also great -- I love that there's a ton of actual ginger in there. The atmosphere is bright, open, and welcoming. I wish there were more seats but it's not too bad to find a spot inside. Plus, when it's warm out, there's plenty of outdoor seating. My dog also loves Andytown. I've been to several cafes around this area and finally decided to try Andytown Coffee! I came on a Sunday at around 12 PM, and I was luckily able to snag a seat inside. The place is very small, and I wasn't able to find any outlets, so I wouldn't say this is the best place to sit and study. Plus, the seats are elevated and not super comfortable. Public wifi is available in this area though, so if you come with a full charge you can definitely chill or work here for a few hours with no problem. There's also a restroom. (There seemed to be a code for it, but it was always left open the time I went.) I ordered a latte ($5.75). Compared to other cafes in this area, I think this price is on the lower end. Milk replacements (eg. oat) are an additional dollar. The drank came out quickly, and I was able to sip and enjoy it while doing computer work + reading. I wish the seats were more comfortable (and parking easier to find), but otherwise I'd definitely consider coming back! This is really a great, cozy coffee shop. read more

Unbelievably disappointing. I hadn't been able to make it to Andytown in the City, and was so excited to try their coffee. Instead I waited in line for 15 minutes behind only 3 customers to learn they only serve stale batch brew blends for drip coffee: no single origins or pure overs of any sort. It is Starbucks. They do offer lots of flavored drinks, but their coffee options are garbage. The Wind and Sea blend was fine, but it's a medium roasted blend. Slow service, and 1 bad coffee option.
