This by far is the worst andytown out of all their location. It's unfortunate because the coffee and breakfast sandwiches are good but the service just makes it terrible. Almost every time we come here after our run, every staff worker looks absolutely miserable. I don't know why, but I'm not trying to pay San Francisco prices for rude customer service. On multiple occasions, every time we've ordered a drink w/ some food the baristas/cashier clerk, the people in front will roll their eyes and sigh. I simply don't understand the struggle and sense of entitlement. If it's hard to prep and is such an inconvenience, I have every to right to order it as long it's on the menu. Second time trying andytown and wanted to try their seasonal Candied lavender late! I enjoyed the whip cream and the candied lavender was light. It wasn't too sweet of a drink which I enjoyed. I also got the breakfast sandwich and while I did wait a while it was yummy! The bread was the best part, it was very crunchy and crisp. I wanted to taste excellent espressos, pulled on an Italian-style lever machine, which was very common in North Beach in the '70's. As a lever espresso machine novice, I finally made some decent shots on my Flair 49 PRO. It's like a science experiment in order to dial in a good shot: grind size, hot water temp, tamp pressure, etc. I read that their cafe on Lawton street uses a commercial lever espresso machine for their single origin roasted whole beans. Glad I went. I could taste the citrus clementine, piloncillo and vanilla flavors in their Bella Vista Women's Group whole beans. SO delicious! The staff was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. One of my favorite coffee spots to date in the Bay Area. I checked out a new location in Sunset district on a rainy Friday morning. We were quickly greeted by staff and welcomed in by the warm ambiance and decor. I like how we were able to see the coffee bean preparation in the back of the store, which added a historical and museum-like touch to the store. My companions both ordered the Original Bird. They thoroughly enjoyed their drink and thought the combination of soda and cream made a fun drink. 5/5 from both of them. My latte was delicious and perfectly sweetened by the syrup! I have a preference for not-to-sweet drinks, so I found it to my liking. It was also well balanced with the creamy oat milk . 5/5 as well. Overall a nice Andytown location with cute decorations! I felt so ashamed to suggest this place to my friend. I quickly scanned my credit card and, of course, had to select 'No Tip' as she left me no choice. We tried Andytown after seeing some "places to go in SF" Youtube video prior to our trip there. It was a short walk from our motel and on the way to our destination. We ordered a Pumpkin Spice latte (with oat milk and a hat on it) and a grilled cheese breakfast sandwich and it was so delicious we had to come back the next morning for another latte. Rooibos makes a great hot drink; the Herb gives not a kick, but a delightful sparkle. Combined with freshly steamed almond milk and now you have a big mug of warming joy to sip. I cannot agree more with some of the other reviews mentioning rude staff. My partner had a similar experience before but never left a review. After my visit, I felt compelled to share mine. I stopped by to grab a coffee and start my day on a positive note, but the experience was surprisingly unpleasant. I stood in line for about five minutes waiting to order while two staff members were engaged in conversation with a customer who had already completed their order. During that time, nobody acknowledged me, made eye contact, or even said they would be with me shortly. What made the situation more frustrating was that another customer walked in and was greeted almost immediately. It left me wondering whether some customers are simply treated differently than others. I understand that coffee shops get busy and that delays happen. What bothered me was not the wait itself, but the complete lack of acknowledgment and basic courtesy. A simple "We'll be right with you" would have made all the difference. Unfortunately, the interaction left such a negative impression that it affected the rest of my morning. There are plenty of coffee shops in the city where customers are treated with respect, so I won't be returning to this location. I'm not sure whether this review will change anything, but I hope management takes the feedback seriously. No coffee shop is worth making customers feel unwelcome. read more

Would always go to Andytown for their Matcha Snowy Plover, which is like a refreshing take on a Matcha Latte but with a fizzy kick! But I had to make a review for their Original Sando. So good I had to get it again for a second time this week. Tastes like a grilled cheese with ham, bacon and a runny yolk in the middle. Soooo good. Don't forget to add the hot sauce too! Staff were so incredibly friendly and good at giving recs, I tried the original bird for something new and it was really really good!! I got less sweet than typical bc I don't like my coffee too sweet and it was a great level for me plus the whipped cream was delish I wish the cup was full of it! Staff is super helpful and accommodating to any questions or request that I had. They even let me know that they had leftover syrup from a previous seasonal drink that wasn't aware of and let me ask for a beverage using it. Will be back when the lavender latte is in season! read more

I had a bad experience in Andytown, and I left a review before but I think they took down my previous review. I asked if they made White Chocolate Mochas and they said no. Which is totally fine, it's not on their menu, I was just curious since they have regular Mochas. What wasn't fine is when I heard them laughing at me in the back "this kid thinks this is a starbucks". Making fun of costumers isn't cool, ever. I love Andytown, especially this location! This little spot is just a couple blocks from the beach and totally adorable. It's compact, has a nice little patio in the back (basically benches that line the edges of the small rectangular patio- no frills, but cozy if you can snag a seat), and a nice little parklet out front. There's nothing better than going for a run by the beach and then cooling off with a cold brew from Andytown. While you can't bring your dog inside, it's easy to tie 'em up at the parklet while you grab your drink. There's also always free dog treats to grab! I think dogs may (?) be allowed in the back patio, but I'm not sure. The staff is always so nice! Ok, now onto more general things that apply to all Andytown locations: -best cold brew in the city -LOVE the cornbread peach muffin!!! -great breakfast sandwich (actually, I'm not sure if all locations have this, but they do at this location) -always the cutest merch. A big fan of an Andytown opening near Ocean Beach. Great spot for food coffee and walking down Great Highway. Interior is nice as well. They have seating in the back open if you wanted to sit and catchup with a friend. Cute stickers, merch and coffee beans (single origin and mix) on sale. I purchased a bag for ~$14.00 and grind on the spot. The Original Bird $6.50 is reminds me of a root beer float but make it coffee. It's not overly sweet and light and easy to drink. Perfect for a hot day. Matcha latte was alright. It was not grassy but get abit overpowered by the milk. One nitpick is the wait time. The long que is honestly mostly due to how long it takes to order and get your drink. One time it was due to low staffing which I understand. But I've waited quite abit on multiple visits. Lovely spot, nice minimalist design, good place for me and the kids to rest after a few hours at the beach. We walked in barefoot (our shoes had gotten wet) and that was no issue. Lovely back patio with plenty of bench space and a couple small tables. Not busy on a Saturday around 2 or 3pm. 1 person ahead of us ordering. I got: Apple & Ginger Scone - 3.5 stars.
