Honey lavender latte and iced matcha latte
    Lani S.

How lovely, light, and airy this place looks in what used to be the dark tones of a Starbucks location for many, many years. I've been wanting to try Saint Frank Coffee for the longest time, but hadn't around to it at the other locations. Inner Sunset is close to home. A few weeks back, I walked by it on a late Saturday morning, and the line was out the door and it looked very crowded. I was not surprised, however, given the high praises of Saint Frank Coffee and this being their newest location. This past Monday, I came in on a whim at the end of the day sometime after 5pm (they close at 6pm daily). I was getting my steps in by strolling through Golden Gate Park and took the route that leads you to 9th Ave. There were plenty of people in there, but not crowded and not busy. I had no idea what I was ordering and I didn't know what to expect. The barista was super friendly, patient, and helpful. Here's what I ended up ordering: - honey lavender latte with oat milk (holy goodness!) - iced matcha latte for my daughter (the taste was more milky and creamy than matcha-y) - mushroom danish (I never wanted it to end, it was so yummy. It had the consistency of a savory croissant) I'm certain I'll be back, but for the coffee and danish - not the matcha- especially since it's so close to home.

We may be 7x7 but we do not lack coffee houses. So I usually go to Saint Frank's Polk location, but now that they are in Inner Sunset, it's so convenient when visiting other places around here. SFC replaced what used to be Starbucks in this location. Gorgeous remodel that felt very spacious. I didn't find out until recently that their pastries are from their sister business, Juniper (also on Polk). Super excited as their pastries are very good. Enough to rival Tartine around the corner. Great drinks, delicious pastries, and beautiful location on Irving and 9th Ave.

Love the coffee here. I've tried a few of their pour overs, the coffee flight (single origin coffees served four ways), and the competition cappuccino - all were excellent. The black sesame kouign amann is great too. Service was friendly and efficient. There are plenty of seats inside, though it can get crowded on weekends. It's best to come early in the morning to skip the line.

I passed by this place while riding the N Muni, and I immediately bookmarked it! I'm so glad I did. Saint Frank is a gorgeous, aesthetically-pleasing coffee shop located in the Inner Sunset. My friends and I grabbed pastries nearby and coffee at Saint Frank before heading to the De Young museum for the Monet exhibit. It was a perfect day! The coffee at Saint Frank is delicious. You can tell this is a coffee shop made for coffee lovers. There were lots of people hanging out at the indoor and outdoor tables, including several people working from the coffee shop. The service was quick and friendly, as well. I highly recommend grabbing a coffee here and enjoying it in the park!

Saint Frank Coffee has taken over the previous Starbucks spot at this Irving location and I think it's a definite upgrade. The coffee is really good; the interior design is modern; the lighting is brighter; staff is friendly. Really good spot to hang out. The lines can get long but move fairly quickly. Prices are consistent with other coffee shops. We tried both the Latte and the Mocha. Both drinks have excellent coffee. The mocha is not very sweet and they use mocha syrup instead of that power stuff. They also offer a few pour over options which I haven't yet tried.

Thank GOD there's a Saint Frank on the park side of town now! Saint Frank is one of the first coffee shops I ever tried in San Francisco and it certainly helped set the bar extremely high. So coffee - no question on the quality here. And Juniper pastries? YAY The space is absolutely gorgeous - on a sunny day it's especially airy and bright. I haven't come on a weekend yet, but on weekdays the vibe definitely feels more like a coworking space (fortunately or unfortunately, depending on what you're looking for), due to the presence of the long communal table in the front. The location is also perfect as it's right in the busy part of the Inner Sunset near lots of cute shops and restaurants.

Pros: A lot of seating; visually appealing; friendly staff; the pastries look good (the plain croissant was flaky and buttery) Cons: The coffee was not made right. The pour over I got was not even lukewarm and the taste was very sour and you could not taste the notes or flavor profiles. I would still give this place a try and try another pour over or a different drink just bc the workers are so kind and I like the ambiance.

San Francisco is expanding and it is in many areas of the city . You have lots of new places to go grab a drink and places to eat. It seems San Francisco also has business which have more than two locations that are homegrown. One place in the Inner Sunset serves their own roast of coffee and also offers the 2024 best awarded croissant in San Francisco via Juniper. It's located across the street of another similar homegrown chain of restaurants known as Super Duper Burgers. This place is also a namesake of San Francisco but in English and it's called Saint Frank. On a 2026 stroll on the Sunset Strip of San Francisco on Irving street you where the former Starbucks stood you can smell a different coffee roasting. Inside Saint Franks it's very spacious with lots of seating. I ordered their mocha and it was not too sweet. I also had ordered the traditional croissant. The croissants have been awarded the best in San Francisco and to me it was flakey like most in SF. The croissant was buttery and tasty. This is a good new spot in the Sunset Strip of San Francisco. Smell the roast of different coffee made in a different "fashion"people inside on their phones and laptops focus trying to avoid physical "distraction"some doing it for work and other working on their "passion" another business San Francisco "expansion" A new business in SF on "board "where coffee art is "poured "and a place which has Juniper croissants won the best San Francisco croissants "award" and in San Francisco business in the last year have " soared"

Don't skip the pastries! Saint Frank Coffee is a great option to get Juniper croisssant if you're unable to go to Juniper's. I can't comment about the coffee though as I'm a casual coffee drinker. Give me any cuppa as long as it's gotta lotta milk, I'm good. Just to set expectations, the wait time when I went on a busy Sunday morning was 25 minutes. What's nice is when you reach the front, you place your order and they prepare it right after. So that means no wait after placing an order, okay maybe just 3 minutes, 5 mins tops. I wouldn't stay here to do some work or chill, the space is loud. I'm just glad I got my Juniper fix!

Ok I had to go in here because the Polk street store has the most delicious coffee. This place was a little disappointing. The coffee we ordered two cappuccino s was like warm no excuse. The pastries were nice but a hame and cheese pastry should have offered to heat it up . The servers were quite young maybe not too well trained who knows . It is a shame maybe a fluke cause they were busy . The place is new and clean it replaced a Starbucks which I never visited

Beautiful, open, and spacious coffee shop. I came today at around 2pm. There was a line when I arrived but it moved pretty quick. I was in and out 10 minutes or under. I ordered an iced Maple Pine Latte, subbed House Almond Macadamia Milk (+$1.50). Flavor wise, this was okay. I think the pine just didn't fit my taste preference. Otherwise, the coffee was good.

The long-awaited opening of Saint Frank in the Inner Sunset is now here! Formerly Starbucks, the space has been transformed with a beautiful light wood interior that creates an airy feel, especially with the morning light shining in. There was a good amount of seating with a common big table, a long wall bench, and some smaller tables inside as well as some tables outside. The person taking our order was friendly and informative. Our iced latte and iced pumpkin spice latte were tasty, and I'd like to try the flight next time. What a great addition to the Inner Sunset neighborhood!

So excited to see a Saint Frank here! I normally go to the MP location because it's outdoors and cyclist friendly. This new location has high ceilings and a lot of seating inside. The line was huge but it moved pretty quickly. Pumpkin Spice Latte - one of my favorite PSLs because it's not too sweet and it's a more suble pumpkin spice. The only thing that would've made it better was the temperature. The latte was barely lukewarm and I assume it's because they were rushing with the long lines.

I asked a passing waitress how long was the wait--(30 minutes she said confidently). I had ZERO faith in that estimate. I was wrong. About EVERYTHING. The Host was a genius. Our waitress was a royal. Her serving team was the Kentucky Derby of thoroughbreds racing to place the silverware, condiments, used dishes, and refilled coffee going. The food tasted Michelin level. I can SAY that because we had eaten dinner at an actual Michelin rated restaurant the night before. (No Yelp rating needed because they ABSOLUTELY deserved it= NARI) I had a FRIED French Toast BECAUSE it cannot sit waiting to be served. My daughter had Eggs Benedict and the granddaughter had fresh fruit, fresh squeezed OJ in an ADULT glass (because she is a Big Girl now). While we paid our tab we heard a woman scream "I'm giving this restaurant a ONE STAARR REVIEW on YELP because of this WAIT!!!" OMG I thought someone had been ROBBED--but..on THIS Mother's DAY..it was only a spoiled young lady with poor manners. For me...now at a point in life that WAITING anywhere for anything is a PERCENTAGE of TIME I have LEFT to live...this breakfast was easily worth the time that it cost in human terms. Go any time you got a Mom, Grandma, Dad, offspring, first date or best friend you want to share a moment in time with early in the day over food and drink. No waiting worth mentioning. Thanks

The breaded catfish pieces were crispy and flavorful, served over creamy, cheesy grits with a slightly sweet tomato sauce that tied everything together nicely. That said, the catfish pieces themselves were fairly small and a little mushy inside, and the portion felt out of balance--the generous serving of grits overwhelmed the relatively modest amount of catfish. We also tried the crawfish beignets. The bread itself was excellent: light, airy, and perfectly fried. Unfortunately, the filling was inconsistent. Mine had very little crawfish compared to others at the table, almost as if it had leaked out or hadn't been filled properly. They were good, but not the standout item I had hoped for. The biggest disappointment was the grillades and grits. The beef was quite tough, making the dish difficult to enjoy. One thing everyone at our table commented on was how overwhelmingly salty nearly every dish was. We all enjoy boldly seasoned food, so this wasn't a matter of preferring bland flavors--the salt simply dominated everything else and masked what could have been much more nuanced cooking. Service also fell short of the warm, welcoming hospitality that many people associate with soul food restaurants. Our server seemed impatient from the start when we asked for a few extra minutes to look over the menu, and the hostess was surprisingly inflexible about their policy regarding outside beverages. I understand not allowing outside food and drinks, especially when the restaurant serves coffee, but guests often have to wait outside for a while, and it's not unreasonable that someone might grab a small coffee across the street while waiting. We were told we either needed to finish our coffees before being seated or leave them at the front to get cold while we ate. It felt like an unnecessary inconvenience and a small but telling example of policies being enforced without much flexibility or hospitality. The atmosphere itself is fairly basic, and even the restroom setup was awkward. The bathrooms are located down a narrow passage between the dining room and kitchen, and when guests naturally waited for one to become available, staff seemed annoyed that anyone was standing there. Overall, there are definitely things Brenda's does well, especially the catfish and the beignet dough, and I can understand why it's popular. But between the excessive salt, inconsistent execution, and service that felt more curt than hospitable, the experience didn't quite live up to the restaurant's reputation.
